Speed of the network on the RN102

Hello

I've been running the RN102 NAS with Western Digital RED 2Disques 2 TB for the last 3 years with no problems. I am also under the latest version of the firmware 6.4.2

recently when I access a NAS device through the 10 windows, I get a very long delay until a point where sometimes it also times out. I imagined that this could be a network problem, and to this end, I bought a NEW router and NEW Gigabite Switch. I thought this may help, but unfortunately it did not. I tested the network to transfer files from one pc to the other and the speed was very good.

for this reason, I decided to back up all my SIN and he gave a plant that the two disk formatting. When I started to transfer the data back, I had the same problem where the speed drops to 0 and at some point he peaks at 45 MB/s

the problem is that when I go to the trough NAS computer I always get time-out errors and a slow connection/transfer.

someone at - it had similar problems and how can I solve this problem?

Hi PIERRESANT,

Is the Antivirus on your NAS on? IF Yes, I'll set the solution given in this document.
http://KB.NETGEAR.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/30436

or you can try to update the Firmware to beta version 6.5.0

  • If I devices 802.11 g connected to my network or it will they drag down the speed of the network?

I have an 802.11n network with more Sonos speakers on this topic. They are only compatible g. I had someone me say that with g on network devices would limit the speed of the other devices on the network to g speeds.  It looks like crap, but I wanted the opinion of experts.

Not at all the crap. With less capable devices (when they operate) will affect the overall bandwidth of your wireless network.

Network management is through the card on board.  OMV uses its own port on the Intel network card.

    The problem:

Transfers of networks (upload) to my Windows 7 PC to NAS OMV are slow (average 40MBps).  Playback speed (downloads) of SIN is about 100 Mbps, which is decent.  I tested the disk write speed using the hdparm since the console command, and they are all on average 110 - 130 Mbps.  Why is my computer so slow transfer speeds?  Is there a setting to ESXi which limits my network connection?

    Some things I noticed:

If only I start a computer Windows 7 virtual on ESXi VMNetwork, my transfers from the Windows 7 VM to the NAS VM on average 105 MB/s, while the playback speed is around 90MBps.  If I could get my physical network to transfer at these speeds, it would be satisfactory.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

I presume that the OMV is the culprit here. See for example this discussion: http://forums.openmediavault.org/index.php/Thread/5507-Extreme-slow-samba-speeds/

You may be able to resolve the server Samba inside the OMV.

The speed of the network are the same of the NIC on the ESXi hosts through the switch to the storage? I have currently 1 GB NIC on ESXi hosts will the Nexus switches then 10 GB of the Nexus switches to the SPs VNX.

    Thanks in advance.

It doesn't have to be equal from end to end.  However, if it is not, of course you will be limited by the performance of the slowest links.

Make sure that the network adapter uses vmxnet3. Check http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1009517 please ensure that the following settings are made according to the link: https://gist.github.com/mcantrell/5094393

  • Speed limit of network in the workstation?

Do you know if there is no speed limit of network between the virtual machines running on the same workstation to Vmware? I think remember something about say 1 Gbps as maximum, but if virtual machines can provide throughput more - it will go by?

Do you use bridged or one of the networks vmnet1 hostonly or 8

hostonly networks are limited only by the host CPU resources

But anyway - Gbit network is much faster than anything that can manage virtual disks

  • Cannot change the speed of the WiFi with WN3000 Extende range

    Hi all

I try to change the speed of the WiFi after successfully connecting to the WiFi network original and extending it with the WN3000. But the drop-down list is blocked. When I connect to the network original WiFi directly speed is up to 300 Mbps, which is why I thought I could also change in the range extender.

    Any idea?

    Thank you!

    Hello danaldo

Then, this is why he is not allowing the 300 SBM because your main router is out which and the Extender that will reduce by half for all the devices connected to the Extender but not if they are on the network from the router. Here is a good article explaining this.

  • Speed of the Ethernet USB adapter

Hi guys, this is my question.

I recently switched to a network of 300 Mbps, and I noticed that my wireless and ethernet controllers (RealTek Semiconductor RTL8101/2/3 Family Fast Ethernet NIC / network RealTek Semiconductor RTL8188E Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E adapter) have a maximum speed of 100 / 150 Mbps.
Can I buy an adapter USB Ethernet Gigabit(e.g. this one) for better performance?
Can I change my wifi controller with

I think 300 Mbit/s is the speed of the internet data outward, the WAN connection. I'll take the side LAN is gigabit ethernet, and Yes you can get near that speed using a gigabit usb adapter. The gigabit usb adapter will allow internal (LAN) transfer of data to somewhere between 5 - 10 times faster than fast ethernet.

  • "The internet connection speed" Vs "the speed of a wireless adapter.

    Hello

I'm subscribered of a DSL with a speed of 512 Kbps (kilobits per second).

However, when I tested the speed of my internet connection with a variety of Web sites, the speed of a wireless router test while wirelessely connected to a wireless router, I have not found any speed of 512 Kbps.
What I found is shown on screenshots below to test the speed of connection to internet Web sites.

As a result, my question are:

First: What would be my answer if I asked about the speed of your internet connection is? Is there a difference between the speed of a LILY and the speed of an internet connection?

Finally: In the screenshot below, the speed of the wireless adapter, I think. If so, what advantage is there this speed?

Traditional math units go up (or down) in thousands so yes 1000 K = 1 M. computers have slight variation because in some cases, it is 1024 but the difference is not significant.

The A in ADSL is asynchronous for the upload and download are not equal. As that data consumer is not serious to you, everything you send upwards is requests for web pages where are small compared to the downloaded pages.

European providers stuck to the same speed of upload years even if the download rate has increased.

One of the problems we have is that there are people like you stuck at 1 / 2 Mb/s using systems designed for multi-Mb of Microsoft networks.

  • Speed up the connection

I need to speed up the process of connecting on our computers.  I'm managing a computer lab studying in a school.  Because of certain security measures, when a user disconnects, restart the computer, and the local profile created for that user is removed from the local hard disk.

Now, I did a small test with a stopwatch, and I found when the first person connected after a reboot, it takes x amount of time.  When the second person connects, it takes about half as much time.  Due to the necessities of our environment, the system restarts is log off, and that each person's connection after a restart.

Thus, it seems that several things start when that first person connects.  How can I get these things occur when the system reboots and not wait for the first person to connect?

    Hello

Are computers on a domain network?

When the closed user reboot the computer and the user profile is deleted from the hard disk, which can be maintained by an administrator.
Also, there are some startup items different for different users that slow down the boot process.

So, I suggest you to connect with COMPUTER or school system administrator for assistance.

    Thank you.
  • Is the speed of the vNIC material?

Is the question - how fast the belives of guest operating system that has the virtual NETWORK card? As, the vNIC is belived to be a 10 Mbit/s or 10 Gbit/s, which will affect the actual speed of the network packets that can be sent and received?

For example, I saw the VMXNET3 sometimes is considered a 1 GB and sometimes 10 GB in Windows 2003 server.

The vNIC will work as fast CPU allows it. He is not related to the speed of the physical network as long that packages only affects the physical card.

There is one exception and that's the former "vlance" vNIC type, which emulates an AMD PCnet32 card. It only works with 10 MBit/s.

  • How can I speed up the load time of my site?

    Hello

How can I speed up the load time of my site hosted on BusinessCatalyst.

    http://www.PW-energy.co.UK

Is there a way to compress?

    Any help much apprecated.

    Thank you

    Hello

The page/site seems to load very well at the moment.

However if want to inspect what could slow down the loading of your page I recommend using 'firebug' and select the 'network' tab to follow every chronology file loading.  Then you can see which file takes more time to load to help make adjustments accordingly.

  • What is the speed of the hard drive of the 2015 2 and 3 to merge disks partition?

I was looking through the Apple site and was wondering about the speed of the drive in the iMac in car merger. On their site it says that the 1 TB Fusion drive has 24 GB of Flash memory, and 2 models to and 3 to have 128 GB of Flash storage. But it does not say what the speed of the hard drive partition, which is what I want to know. It is 5400 RPM, or even 10000 rpm or 7200 RPM? I don't know, but I want to know. If anyone here knows the answer to this question, I would appreciate a response. Thank you.

I have seen it reported that the Fusion drives are all 7 200 RPM.
