  The other hero vs pre thread on this forum is like reading a novel of 50 000 page... not very useful for those who want a quick comparison between the two phones.  I studied and I personally used both phones for hours... under my signature line is a simple attempt to ball-format.

  1. do you have HTC Manager installed on the computer?

  2. have you tried it with different USB ports?

  You need the HTC Sync HTC phone Manager software.

  Method 1: Try again with different USB ports and see if that helps.

   

  Method 2: If HTC Sync is installed, if you get the message "no device connected" in HTC Sync, ensure that your phone USB setting is changed to "Charge Only" to "HTC Sync".

  If the methods above do not help, you can contact HTC for additional help.

  ITunes music works only with the iPod.
  ITunes Store is a store based on online digital media software operated by added Apple Inc. DRM protection on them. You can't make music iTunes to HTC Hero directly unless you first remove the DRM protection.

  You will need to contact Apple support to find out how to transfer files to the mobile phone.

• I can't install Windows Mobile Device Center

  I had a lot of trouble with my Sprint HTC Mogul synchronization with my computer which is Vista (32).  Windows Mobile Device Center has been not to recognize my phone when I plugged it up (USB work).  He used to work in the past, so I uninstalled WMDC and tried to reinstall it and now I have nothing.  Now, I'm learning (always after I make a mistake) that WMDC is an integral part of Vista.  How can I reinstall vista components?  A secondary issue, I tried to install WMDC directly from the CD that came with my phone and it says I need Adobe Flash 8.0 or higher.  I have Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X(which I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times).  Whenever I connect my phone to the computer what he claims to have correctly installed the driver software, but when I look in programs of this isn't there!

  I need to back WMDC on my computer until I can solve the problem of synchronization.  Help!

  I was wondering what happened to 'video zone' and 'facebook for android '.

  now I'm thinking that the video box developers do not support 1.5 more. at least his party 1.5 market but on my htc hero friends and I think that those who run on 2.1 not really sure if.

  but facebook for android really? What happened to it, I installed it, but someone was going to the market and asked me if I could check and I did. (being the nice guy that I am = P) and low and behold it is no longer available for download?

  I guess Im just a little confused.

  One last thing is that someone tried the merger called feature (located in the options when in a call). Im guessing it is just another way of say 3 way calling. Anyone used or know what it is and what it does?

  Yes Facebook for Android is no longer supported by phones Android 1.5. Your phone will need to obtain an upgrade to be able to update the application.

• Professional netw5v32.sys - HP Compaq 8710p - Windows 7 error message

  Whenever I try to connect to the hotspot on my Sprint HTC EVO 4 G LTE android device, my HP Compaq 8710p goes to a blue screen and gives me errors that include:

  DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

  and an error indicating a problem with the netw5v32.sys

  My tech support has run the fix for DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL messages, but not the fix for the problem of netw5v32.sys.

  Does anyone know where to find the fix for the problem of netw5v32.sys?

• Bad choice of name for phone "Pixi?

  All the:

  I'm a pre Turner who is waiting for the next batch of pre to see if they solve the screen cracked and oreo-phone problems - and for voice dialing to come to the Meadow (making the secure car) before again twice.

  Maybe I was hoping that the "Pixi" would be the solution for me to get a RELIABLE of WebOS device.  Alas, I have trouble getting me to think that I could have something called "Pixi".

  Anyone can start a poll vote here to see if Sprint customers really buy something called "Pixi?    I don't know how to set up a voting poll... but I suspect that Palm has made a mistake by naming the phone "Pixi".  The old name of "Eos" rumor would have been great (it means 'Dawn' in Greek, but does not seem too girly).

  I'm also wondering if they chose "Pre" as in 'Preview' or 'Predecessor' of a device later, non-fragile.  Perhaps the "Pre" has been more than a concept phone... and they decided to release him, problems and everything?

  Furthermore, I think somehow I'll wait for the HTC Hero coming to Sprint in a month... looks promising.

  I agree that the name is silent.  I think that it is marketed to girls and guys who want to be girls.  What is strange, is that the phone is so low spec at the point of being almost ridiculous.  The price diff is not that large, Palm would have done better to go out with a higher end phone, then the Pre.

  Someone please do a real phone with WebOS on it.

  Are you using one of the experimental ARMv6 nightly builds? The HTC Hero is not compatible with the normal ARMv7-optimized versions. See https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android system conditions

  Notice that it states you could be able to run experimental versions.

  I myself built a USB socket for installation in my car (in a plug for one of the slots to spare for switches). Technically, it's really simple with a voltage of 5V regulator which limits the 12V battery voltage to 5V for USB. Because I want to only use the sockets to recharge USB devices

  (iPod, phone, GPS,...) in the car, I left the data open pins. Today, I hung my little gadget up to a power supply of 12V, measured at the exit of the catch USB for correct voltage and polarity and then hung my Defy. Unfortunately, it does not work. I was pretty well clueless, what could be the issue so I asked some of my colleagues to hang their phone (HTC Desire, HTC Hero and HTC Desire HD), and each of them has worked well.

  Someone has any idea of what I need to do to get this working? He wants to talk to the USB to determine what port it is connected to a Motorola phone (for some reason any)?

  Hi, I'm trying to reproduce the content of the 16 GB micro SD card that came with my Xperia Play to a larger 32 GB card. I use a file manager to simply copy the content in all of the new card, but I often get errors and then it will stop and give up.

  After doing some research online and read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=897408, I do not use Linux and the thread goes off a little bit of a tangent. The topic is on the HTC Hero, but I guess that is not specific to the device?

  It seems that you can not just copy the files because the 16 GB card partitions. Looking at the volume in disk, Win7, there is no xxxx on the map.

  So, what is the best way to reproduce the content of the map? Or is there a copy protection and I'm stuck with the 16 GB card, I want to use it with my Media Player from Cowon J3.

  Has anyone tried to play videos from sites like facebook or another site playable flash (except youtube). It says to download flash player. N; pre palm have the latest version of the flash player? I also tried downloaded flash player, but it only downloads perhaps due to the OS system thing. Any help on how to play these videos?

  No pre doesn't have a flash at the moment. More than anything else out here in the States last I knew. The HTC hero which was released in Europe is the only device I know who has it now.
