SQL server system objects

Does anyone know how to hide the SQL Server system objects in the dialog of the command > > database items > > stored procedures. Using SQL Server Management Studio Express, it is possible to hide the view system objects, but they are not hidden in DW8.0.2. Similarly, in DW when clicking on a link in the Application > > Databses Panel, then click on view (on a db SQL Server) in addition to the views that I have created all the system objects are too visible.

Thank you

Revoke or deny EXECUTE permission on the stored procedures to the user
connect you like in your connection string.
For tables and views, revoke or deny the SELECT for the same authorization
user.

  • SQL Server migration object renamin

The situation I encounter is the migration of a SQL Server database to 10 g 2. The barrier, I'm trying to deal with, it is that a lot of names stored procedure SQL Server 900 + exceed the limit of 30 characters Oracle. Much it exceed 10 to 15 characters, and the last several characters are the part of the name that identifies only to identify and differentiate between other procedures with similar names. If I make the standard migration, many new names is shortened and have some arbitrary ending, such that I can't tell what new procedure migrated corresponds to a particular procedure from source.

Rename procedures in the SQL Server would be ideal, but MS indicates that it is a bad idea (Nice, huh?) and I don't have sufficient privileges on this diagram to do anyway, so that the attractive option is unfortunately not available.

With the large number of necessary procedures, tried to automating the process of name change using a java application (mine) to change the names in the schema captured in the migration repository before generating the Oracle model. I proceeded to change the NAME column, change the CLOB in the NATIVE_SQL column, replacing the old names by the new MD_STORED_PROGRAMS table. Unfortunately, when I then try to build the model of the Oracle of this "corrected" scheme, I get errors like "create procedure < proc_name > error: unexpected end of line subtree column 0 0" for each proc which I changed the data. " It seems that it is looking for another place and find the original name and launch a mistake if it believes that it does not have the new name I gave him in the process of automated renaming.

I hope that someone else knows what other tables I need to change to fix the names, or in a different way or better for this task.

    Thank you!

    Hello

It sounds like an "interesting" problem I'll try that. I hope I can find a solution or workaround for this problem.

I get this error when trying to install sql express 2005 on windows vista home and professional. Please let me know what is the cause of this error and the solution.very urgent please. Thanks in advance

    Hello Sisi reddi, welcome.

You can try a solution that worked before on S2k3.  Try this on affected systems:

    1. click on START
2 type "notepad" (without the quotes) and press enter
3 copy and paste the following text in Notepad:

    LETTER
    CD %windir%\system32\wbem
    Mofcomp.exe cimwin32.mof
    Regsvr32 /s wbemupgd.dll
    Regsvr32 /s wbemsvc.dll
    Wmiprvse/regserver

    4. click on file > save as
    5. change the drop-down list (file type) to "all files".
    6. name the file sqlfix.bat, and then save it to your desktop
    7. from there, right-click on the file and choose "Run as Administrator". If it works that way, you can also open it WITHOUT choosing run as administrator and see what happens.

    8. now try to install SQL 2 k 5

    Let us know,

  • Windows Update failed - error 0 x 80070643 for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 4 (KB2463332)

Original title: Windows Update Failed - need help

Vista 32 Ultimate with all updates, until this one: update Windows failed: error 0 x 80070643 for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 4 (KB2463332). Update has failed repeatedly.  I tried to restart, remove the update (even by deleting the file so it would download it again) and install again.  Nothing has worked.  Error 80070643.  Since it is not Office 2003, the error seems to mean a problem with the Windows .NET framework.  Don't know what that means.

Looking at KB976982, I tried to fix MSI software update registration corruption issues (whatever that means) by running the automated Fix It by KB971187. Restarted, I tried Windows Update again.  Still didn't update.

Then, I waited two days and tried again.  Even that did not help.

I tried bypassing Windows Update simply by downloading and then run the file SQLEXPR32.exe from Microsoft downloads. Did not work at all. I then tried to run it as an administrator (even if it was already an administrator account, with no other account on this computer at all).  He started to run and then gave me the following error message: unable to run the SQL Server System Configuration Checker due configulation WMI on the computer.  Error: 70347 (0x112cb).

Now I'm really confused.  On the one hand, 80070643 means I probably repair the .NET framework, which certainly, I hate to do because I need several versions of the .NET framework first uninstall and then try to install the compmonents, and I'm afraid something would go wrong.

On the other hand, the 70347 (0x112cb) error message seems to indicate the problem is completely different and has to do with WMI, which probably has to do with permissions and I have no idea how to solve this problem.  (And why it all of a sudden would be any problem with permissions?)  This computer is not on a corporate network and has only one user account, the administrative account).  I have looked at Services and Applications in computer management, where there are WMI control, but nothing shown that I can possibly change and not the SQL Server Configuration Manager under it, which doesn't seem to have much either.

    Help!  Please...

And now I also tried to fix it, just in case where, the .NET framework (Panel > programs and features > Microsift.NET framework Client profile 4 > uninstall/change > fix it), and the Windows Update tried again (including reboot).  Still no.  Everything I try, it is not to do nothing, pardon my language.  People smarter than me, pleasehelp!

  • SQL Server target without Manager, trail or replicate on the target

SQL Server target without Manager, trail or replicate on the target

We want to set up replication between Oracle and SQL server database, but we do not want to install Golden Gate on the SQL server system. Is there a way to set up on the side of the Oracle or by using a staging server that connects to SQL server remotely?

    Thank you

    Steve

    Hi Steve,.

It is possible to install the Oracle delivery process in one remote server other than the server where the Sql server database is installed. Please check the point below "Using Oracle GoldenGate 12 c with SQL Server databases"

Install Oracle GoldenGate Capture on the source database server. Read level access is from the journal transactions requires Capture to be installed on the local database server and not on a remote server. Installation of Oracle GoldenGate delivery can be on another server that target the database server, as long as are the pilots of the SQL Server client on this server and the connection to the target database can be established.

  • Why is a user with the DBA privilege necessary side SQL Server to migrate?

    Greetings

Project to migrate a SQL database to Oracle using SQL Developer.

The docs say that a user with DBA privileges is required in the SQL Server database when you run the migration of the side Oracle.

    Why?

Why a user with only READ access to SQL Server data would be necessary?

    Thank you very much!!

    -gary

The DBA privilege at the source database is required because SQL Dev Migration is also collect information from SQL Server system tables, which a normal user is not always possible to query. It is mandatory that the migration is trying to build an Oracle schema which corresponds as much as possible the source database.
But this requires having become DBA in the foreign database to avoid permission problems. If you SQL Server admin does not want the DBA privilege, you can also do a Migration offline - here the ADMINISTRATOR must run the generated scripts offline in-> Migration-> 3rd capture in the database offline party

  • Advanced POS 5.8 only sees the system databases in SQL Server 2014 and fails when attempting backup

We have upgraded to VDP 5.8 has progressed today and installed the new SQL agent in 3 different SQL servers.  Two SQL Server 2008 work well with VDP machines - he can see all databases.

But when I try to create a backup of the SQL Server 2014 computer, by selecting individual databases, the VDP device (such as it is controlled through vSphere Web Client) sees only the three system databases

Master, MSDB and Temp.  And when I tried to back up the master database, the process has failed with an error various non-expose of reasons.

Is there something special about setting up SQL Server 2014 to be backed up by advanced VDP?

See M80ARM - Warrior of Virtualization: VDP Advanced SQL Agent permissions

Basically, you need to either run the 'Backup Agent' service in a context that had rights to the SQL Server or you have enable the NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM account with rights on the SQL Server.  Not obvious in the documentation, but that solved for me.

  • I don't see a SQL server in the menu to the bottom when you create a SYSTEM DSN?

What could prevent me from seeing a list of all the SQL servers in my environment when you create a SYSTEM DSN?

The drop down menu has only a single SQL Server available. IM using W2K8R2 64 BIT and I have also installed the 64-bit SQL to ODBC client.

you have dbo on the MSDB and the VCDB?  Whatever it is, no instance DB and no permission you should always see SQL servers in your environment. When you created the DSN system, you used the SQL Native Client not the SQL Server driver?

  • ADF BC to SQL Server connection with variable set to View object

    Hello world

I develop a BPM Application using Oracle BPM 11.1.1.5.0 and JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0

Following the thread of the link below, since it is a new topic, I decided to open a new thread.

Re: ADF method call to extract data from DB before loading the page from the initiator

what I try to do is to get a record from a database and show to the user on the initiator of the UI using ADF BC and not the database adapter.
I have worked with ADF BC and display objects to get all the lines and show them to the user in a table.

However, when I try to run the same query in the parameterized shape just return a single line, I hit a wall.
In short, my problem is like this:

I have an Application Module which has an entity object and a display object.
My database is SQL Server 2008.
When I try to create a new read only view object to return a single line I face the problem.
The query that I have in the section my display object query is like this:
    select *
    from dbo.Employee
    where EmployeeCode= 99
    which works very well.
However when I set a variable input_code, linking for example and change the query as follows it won't validate.
    select *
    from dbo.Employee
    where EmployeeCode= :input_code
    He just telling me
    >
    incorrect syntax near ': '.
    >
I don't know if this has to do with my Oracle DB is not or I'm doing something wrong.
Can someone help me with this you problem?

    Thanks in advance

The problem is that you are using 'Oracle named' style for the binding of parameter in the SQL statement. However, this style of binding is specific Oracle. You must use "Positional JDBC" style of binding with MS SQL Server:

    select *
    from dbo.Employee
    where EmployeeCode= ?

(The style of binding is specified in the query to the dialog box Definition VO Editor pane).

If you specify the positional style of binding "JDBC", another field called 'Linking the Positions' will appear in the definitions pane variables bind VO. You will be able to specify it is the position of the particular parameter in the binding variable VO query bound to. (the position of the bond index is 0-based).
