SRM appear in web client

So I've been reconfiguring our server VCenter and SRM.  I replaced the VCenter server with a camera and set up a new server in each site to perform the Manager Update and SRM.  Configuration was fine and I was making each site in parallel most of the time.

I ran into an issue now but where SRM is in service webclient on the production site, but it does not appear in the vcenter for our recovery site.  I put in place the same sites so it seems strange that I would have a question. I also watched the event on the client log web vcenter in the Dr site and it does not list SRM and using 0 75 licenses, so we see it clearly, but I have no option for this.

Thoughts?

Thank you!

Hello

Probably just wishful thinking on my end, but have you tried to restart the Web Client vSphere? You can do it in the management UI (VAMI) unit of vCenter Server.

Thank you

Stefan

  • Dude where's my 5.8 SRM in vSphere Client? -Its in the Web Client

    Hi guys,.

    VC5.5U2, MRS. 5.8

    vSphere Client 5.5U2 build 1993072

I can't find the SRM in the vSphere Client. Under the Plugins section it says "Site Recovery Manager 5.8.0, no download on the client side is necessary for this plug-in."

It is here under the Web Client.

He's still in the vSphere Client?

BTW I have SRM installed but not configured at this stage.

    See you soon,.

    Steve

    Hello sjmeyers,

With the SRM 5.8 client version is more in c# vSphere Client. Please connect to the WebClient service and you'll see the RS icon there.

    Regrads,

    Nik

  • SRM 5.8 does not display an icon in the Web Client

I have a customer that has improved its server vCenter on the two sites of 5.5U1 to 5.5U2, a condition 5.8 SRM.

After what seems to be a successful installation of the SRM on both sites, I see NOT the RS icon on each site.

Tried to restart the VMware vCenter inventory Service

Services of SRM server and embedded database are running

I checked below and the ExtensionManager value, com.vmware.vcDr is actually present.

    Notes:

1 SRM is installed on the respective vCenter servers using the embedded DB ProstgresSQL

2 vcEnter also uses the embedded DB - there are only 3 hosts per site

    3. the total number of protected virtual machines expected to be 12

Any ideas? I know it's a new product, but we are here.

OK, this has been resolved. Here's the answer:

Customer said to have upgraded the server vCenter Server to 5.5U2, which he did. But...

    1. he could not also upgrade the inventory Service

    2. has failed to upgrade the Web Client

It is interesting that SRM 5.8 installation succeeded only after upgrading vCenter server, but the Installer do NOT also test the compatibility of the inventory also upgraded service.

Note that there is no current documentation reflecting this anywhere I could find. Refers only to the version of vCenter server.

    Done deal.

  • Just improved 5.0 to 6.0u2 vcenter.  How do eliminate you the web client certificate error?

We were a vSphere 5.0 shop for many years and enjoyed the client c# 4.0, 4.1 and 5.0 then days.  We just upgraded 6.0 Update 2 this week and although always, we are primarally used to the c# client and will use it for a while to come, I am getting used to the web client for the new features that are available only in it, such as SRM and VR.

I was able to click through the numours of screens of reminder to get via Firefox after all these certificate warnings and even easier just click the one or two things in Chrome or IE to get in.  But how could eliminate total certificate errors?  Example, now I'm with Chrome, but the https:// in the address bar is red with a slash through it.

In most all other device based on web or connection we have, as HP iLO, Dell iDrac etc... usually, we create a CSR on this device and it present our internal Windows certificate authority and recover a file to go back to the device.  Is it possible to do this with the web client?  We have a certificate of 'Server Web 2' model that generates the sha256 return certificate and inherently all field devices to trust him because the area is important our root certificate authority.

Also, we are running services such as replication vSphere and SRM, I would not change certificate affects only or same vSphere Update Manager.  We have two sites HQ and DR.

I ended up getting rid of the cert errors by following this page: 6 replacement vSphere SSL certificate / implementation by using the Certificate Manager-automation tool

I followed the procedures for "Certificate of Machine (Reverse HTTP Proxy) replace with certificate custom" and just that.  I didin 't' t mess with root VMCA with custom signature certificate certificate because its seems to me like he wanted to do an endless number of the signature of the certificate request and keys.  But the first option considered for our internal Windows CA took care of her.

For replication of vSphere 6.1.1 that I had to turn off the virtual devices from replication via customer web vSphere vSphere and then put them back on.  Then connect to their URL of web management (port 5490) and make the reconnection to the vsphere on the connection tab, where he was invited to accept the new certificate.

For AUVS I had to run the VMwareUpdateManagerUtility.exe under C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\Infrastructure\Update Manager and to the third option of re - register to vCenter, and then restart the service.

Surprisingly, SRM sites remained paired although I've read that some people have trouble with it.  I'm on 6.0 update 2 and I think one of the questions was fixed in 6.0 Update 1 b.

  • 5.5 Web client, right-click in Chrome now very boring with a menu that overlap, barely usable

My setup is vSphere 5.5 with latest edition ESXi/Vcenter, and I use Google chrome 49.0 both 45.0 Firefox on my Windows 7 computer. Recently, some change has happened to Google chrome, making it extremely annoying. Please see the photo. Notice that eventually (it started to appear on April 5), every time I'm with the right button of the mouse, a window overlapping menu web client appears, preventing me from accessing some menu web client, I tried to solve this problem by selecting 'Settings' and disable flash related things (for example access flash to the camera privacy, etc.).  How can you get rid of the menu circled in red?

Also Firefox's question, I use 4K monitor, the web client window is very small and cannot be changed even if I have the window zoom to 250-300%, no difference.

    Untitled.jpg

Here's how I solved the problems for these who can use Firefox, I suggest that you switch to Firefox and install Adobe flash, it's difficult for me because the last Flash on Firefox does not the web interface to scale correctly on my 4K monitor, everything seems tiny.

    (1) uninstall Google chrome,

    (2) download old version of Google chrome by visiting this site:

Download Google Chrome 46.0.2490.80 (Enterprise version for Windows - OldVersion.com

    (3) after the installation, turn off the update of Google chrome auto, here's the info:

Disable updates of Chrome - Super user

It will be implicitly security once you disable Chrome/flash update, if someone else finds the best solution, do not hesitate to add your opinion here.

Update: this evening, the flash inside my google chrome (still in version 46.0.2490.80) is updated to the latest edition, automatically, I have no way to prevent this.    Now, when I use Google chrome, the annoying menu disappeared, I tried the same thing on my laptop, which hosts the last Chrome and Flash, the menu that overlap also disappeared, I wonder why?  This pi * s me off.

  • "You don't have permission to view this object" when you try to watch the vRO in web client workflows

I just installed vRO 6.0.4 in my environment (vSphere 6, 6.1, 6.1 VR - plugins for both installed SRM). I plugged on SSO (using my account [email protected]) successfully, said the the vRO client vCenter and I can see all the workflows in vRO when I go through the web client of vSphere. However, when I click on any workflow, I get a blank gray window with the error in the title of this message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, GS long time not to mention.

Couple of quick question, when you logged in service webclient which account were you using and is this account a member of the Group Admin vCO you have configured with SSO?

You have configured permissions inside vRO?  When you are in the high-level view tab workflow that you will need to assign at least display and inspect the permissions for all the people who will access the vRO via the web-client workflows.  This authorization at the top of the tree gives users the rights to connect to the vRO to vSphere, then you can set the execute permissions on the workflow in the context menu.

    See if that helps you

  • Available in c#, but not in Web Client VUM

I just installed Crossover, but I can't see the tabs or the icon in the Web Client. However, I am able to see and handle things in the Visual c# client.

appliance server vCenter with embedded PSC - 6.0.0.10200 build number 3343022

VUM installed on Server R2 2012

I have re-registered using the IP address instead of the FULL domain name as well as restarted the VCSA, but nothing has changed.

    Any ideas?

I think that I thought about it.

The latest version does not appear to me in the web client for some reason, but the release before that does not work. (I don't know if this is what vmEck wanted to say in his reply...)

    Try to install version 6.0 U1 (6.0.0 - 3040890).

I completely removed everything (including SQL Express) and worked perfectly. I then tried the upgrade to 1 billion and it is not yet once I chose well to wipe the DB and start from scratch (don't have much in it anyway). I'll try again, but choose to keep the existing data to see if it works.

Whatever I don't know if it's a bug or there is something wrong with my setup, but perhaps someone from VMware can investigate?

  • Web Client Plugin not completely installed

    Hello

I tried to understand this, but I've not seen anything that solves this problem. When I sign NSX Manager 6.2 Build 2986609 with vCenter 5.5 updated 2nd, the connection is successful and I can see the extension listed in the CROWD and the web client extensions Manager but the tab networking and security in the Web Client does not appear. I restarted vCenter both NSX Manager, connectivity tested between each configured NTP, DNS configured, tried both a domain service account, and the [email protected] (and logged as a user registered once) but nothing is visible.

C:\ProgramData\VMware\vSphere Web Client\vc-packages\vsphere-customer-serenity is not a directory, vshield

    homelab-nsx-registration.PNG

So I thought the real problem. This is the time zone setting. Zone MUST match that vCenter uses. I always left appliances linux (like NSX and same ESXi) to UTC, but all of my windows as vCenter server are on the Eastern time zone. That was my problem, even though the weather was synchronized the time zone must be defined correctly.

  • Unable to connect to vSphere Web Client after you restart the web service from client vSphere in vCenter

I tried my code change and restarted the service WebClient vSphere. • VRO v6.01 installation but not displayed in the web client

I'm having trouble with a clean install, not appearing is not in the Web Client, and I hope someone here can help you.

I built my house with vSphere Lab 6 now it's GA, and after sunrise vCenter and run, I thought I'd have a look at the latest and Orchestrator (v6.0.1). I have deployed the OVF very well (I used the GUI client such as web client and their tools of 'integration' are all except) and entered the web configuration portal. I finished the tab "vSphere infrastructure" (SSL, authentication SSO, licensing, registration vCenter) who has successfully completed (according to the display messages).

However, when I go into the tab Orchestrator WebClient service where no server is listed and no workflow is available. I checked the plugin vCenter client is enabled (under Administration > Solutions > Client Plug-ins) and I also tried to register through the client GUI Orchestrator and 'Add a vCenter Server' and 'Save a vCenter Server' workflows running both successfully completed. Still no luck.

Any ideas how I can get registered with vCenter Orchestrator (I use the VCSA) or if I start troubleshooting? Good to check logs files?

    Thank you

    Ed.

OK, if you see that the "get started page", this means the plugin vRO has not been downloaded and deployed in vSphere Web Client.

In 6.x, the binary plug-in are hosted on server vRO and vSphere Client Web downloads and deploys it. How the plugin site is discovered is the URL extension of the VC.

The first thing to check if if the URL is valid and the plug-in can be downloaded from it. Open the managed object browser, and then clicks ExtensionManager -> "com.vmware.vco" extension-> client -> url. Its value must be something like https://vcoip:8281/vco/vsphere-web-client/vco-plugin.zip. Open this URL in a browser and verify that the downloaded ZIP file.

If the ZIP file can be downloaded without problem, check the file of newspaper Web Client vSphere (vsphere_client_virgo.log) traces associated with failed to download plugin (you can find the name of the vco-pluginfile).

If there is nothing associated with vco-plugin in the papers then maybe vSphere Web Client not attempted to download it. I think he's looking for plug-ins at startup, then you can try to restart the Web Client vSphere (in the device, it is named vsphere client , so you can restart it with the command "restart service - vsphere client").

In addition, you can try to connect to Web Client vSphere with the admin user, then go to Administration -> plugins customerand click on the search of new plug-ins link.
