SSMove issues and recommendations?

Using Lab Manager 3.0.1.

I have asked a few questions below to the different technical support engineers, but have gotten conflicting information from them so I thought I would try here to see if I can get answers from users in the real world or other technical support engineers.

We have got a new SAN and want to move VMs chained to the old SAN to the new San.

Some of these chains have several virtual machines, and many of the total channels over 100 GB in size.

Question 1: It is recommended to use SSMove for large VMS / channels?

Former SAN data warehouses are the FC and the new SAN datastore will be connected to the ESX host with iSCSI.

Question 2: The data will pass on the connections of the FC and iSCSI or through the Service console between two ESX host?

We thought to do a SAN copy for "backup" strings VM to front a SSMove.  In the case of data move corruption due to a failure, we re LM to point to the VMs 'backed up' on the data store holding the backup copies.

Question3: Is it possible to repoint LM to copies of VM channels on a different data store?

Question 4: With LM 3.x SSMove, what happens to partially moved if the process fails to halfway due to causes such as channels of data/VM/host network loss or other timeout issues?

Other recommendations and responses would be very appreciated.

not really.  data moved between UUID, heading updates and update DB LM would be in order.  We have just a pretty slick way to do when you contact support, instead of update all this by hand.

This sounds like a scenario that we could predict?

Yes, as long as the backup data that was on the LUN before the failure.  If for any reason, the backup is even a few different pieces in the VMDK file, this could adversely affect a virtual machine that is related to this VMDK. (child nodes).

aside from that, it seems reasonable.

    Be prepared to identify you as the account holder. They will ask you some things, I can't predict what, but usually the serial numbers or credit card.

  • installation failed several times to KB2656353 and KB2656370 security update. I downloaded all the patches and recommended tools. What should I do?

    Received phone call from someone who identified himself as a member of the Technical Support of the Windows team.  Says my calculation had sent messages back saying that I had a virus.  Was skeptical and didn't know how to check if it was legitimate then toldl him I would take care of him.     Go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / view and check the box to show the hidden files and folders and uncheck to hide extensions of known file types.  Only the first is required for this problem, but the other may be useful later and you might as well do it while you're already here.

    Now, you will be able to see the folder.  It will be in the same place, it has always been (it has not been assigned) - it was just hidden and now that you can see hidden files and folders you can see again.  You may notice that it deteriorated a little bit lighter that other records - it is a sign that it is a hidden file or folder.

  • What are the issues and how can I put the documents in the files?

    As usual; Oracle is absolutely horrible in providing any kind of basic instructions on the use of the products.

    I need to upload files to a structure (don't care if it's collections, folders, or in mason jars as long as it works) and be able version them and seize those I want.

    I managed to get a variety of things to work with the genericSoapService (cannot use the API in accordance with local policy), but everything I check in goes in (don't know where)

    I don't think I'm even asking the right questions because my web researchers increase irrelevant results.

    What are the issues and how can I put the documents in the files?

  • Sending information to the issuer and confidential form to a database

    I have an application form for an air show, can be seen here www.hollisterairshow.com/volunteerapp.php and when the user clicks on submit their information is added to a MySQL database and the user is redirected to a "thank you" page, this works very well and may be sufficient "such what." Try it if you want!

    I would try to improve it a little bit in two ways:

    1. View information of the volunteers submitted on the "thank you" page and/or
    2. Give the user the ability to send by e-mail a copy of their information on their own (it includes days they expect to be available, favorite activity etc.)

    The information that the user submits also includes personal information such as email address, phone number and mailing address and are therefore not accessible by anyone other than the issuer and administrator of aeronautics or me. I have a password protected to secure the area for the administrator to access all the info and it works fine. The primary key of the volunteer table is a "volunteernumber" which is a numeric field that is incremented by 1 automatically when recording is written in the table.

    So my concerns are:

    1. How to move the volunteernumber back to "thank you" page so that it is not visible to the user (if I used a URL parameter the user could see that they were, say, volunteers number 29 and it wouldn't take a lot of skill to change to a different number of volunteer and see someone other info)
    2. I think I read somewhere that the sending of an e-mail message can open me up to malicious attacks - not very likely, but still possible

    I would really appreciate a pointer in the right direction. I use DW CS4.

    You can send the information to [email protected]. Unfortunately, when we try to close these sites, they still operate within hours under a different name. Be specific in your complaint for fraud of OCP. They will also send some info on legal ORGANIZATIONAL unit to deal with.

  • Equium A60: graphics issues and more

    Ive had so many probs with tis equium a60. It was overheating, stand by was not working and now the graffics were spoil! I rang this place recommended pcworld n they said try to format (large). anyway I restored it to factory settings while he was exactly as it was when I got it. stand is now working properly :) but it still is overheating (I mean really, it becomes it hot) and the graffics are always spoil.
    What happens is the screen freezes for a few seconds, then he goes the worst possible of display settings, so everything is massive and the colors are all wrong. and a pop up in windows as a encountered an error please reboot.
    This happens only at random times, I do not understand why ive formatted. I don't know if the card graffics itself is exhausted. any help or ideas appreciated. see you soon

    Hi Dave,.

    I think he should assume that your problems stem from overheating. It is very common for the dust and debris to form and block the passage of air through the CPU cooler. I suggest trying to remove such an accumulation or blowing into the heatsink (towards the cooling fans), or by sucking debris with a household vacuum. If all else fails, then you can remove the heat sink and the dust before replaceing it. Beware that this may invalidate your warranty.

    Normally a thermal trigger remove power if it detects the CPU heat too, but this does not mean that other problems cannot occur.

    If you still have problems with you appear after you have addressed the issue of overheating then please post again.

    I understand that you experience connectivity problems when you access Game Center accepting friend requests.  Here are some troubleshooting steps that I recommend to go through this problem.

    Get help

    If you are unable to connect to Game Center or stay connected, follow these steps:

    1. Make sure that you are connected to the Internet.
    2. If you cannot create an account or sign in to Game Center of in a game, try to create an account or sign in with the Game Center app.
    3. Sign out of Game Center, then reconnect. If you can not you connect to Game Center with an Apple ID, reset your password, or use another email address. To manage your Apple ID, see my Apple ID.
    4. If you use a connection Wi - Fi, be sure that your Wi-Fi router is configured for Game Center.
    5. If you can't connect to a Mac, continue with the steps to solve the sign in questions.

    If you have a problem with a game of Game Center, follow these steps:

    1. Make sure you have the latest version of the game. To check for updates, go to App Store > updates.
    2. Test your connection by using a different game. If you cannot connect with a specific friend or player in multiple games, they might need to check their Wi - Fi connection and router settings.
    3. On iOS, try opening the game to the home screen, rather than the inside Game Center.
    4. If you cannot resolve the problem, follow the steps described in the next section to report the problem to the developer.

  • Satellite C660D - 181 Power Cord issues and can not read CD or DVD

    I have a Toshiba Satellite C660D-181 and my power cord has had problems with the connection. I plugged it in and the light on the left indicating it is plugged in and charged off and my cell phone begins to lose his load.

    I must escape around and try to get it just in the right position to show him it is plugged. I have it plugged into an extension of the Strip which is connected to the main outlet (and the only outlet) in the room.

    I use it exclusively in the living room so I'm close to the telephone and TV, so move it to another room will not be the answer. I'm afraid that the repair costs would be too high and the purchase of a new laptop computer is out of the question for now.

    Another question, I'll have, it's that I can't read a CD or a DVD. I have Windows Media Player and Apple Quick time Player. I chose to play the media instantly, but it still does not work. I installed cc registry cleaner to see if it was a registry problem, but no joy there. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.

    The most important issue to address at the moment is the power supply cord. I appreciate your help. Please, profane as computer jargon escapes me.

    Don t think that it s a real option since you would need good parts, hand tools, maintenance and find out how to fix it.

    Since you and I don t know exactly the cost of repair, I would recommend first asking how this fix could be I mean, you can request a service in your country for a price and could decide if its worth for you
