  I think that the portable player s (optical disc) DVD region is set in the United States and therefore you can not read the DVD released for the European market.

  To resolve this problem, you must change the option of DVD region 2 region.

• I have a computer running VISTA. The CD-ROM/DVD-rom does not work and can not read the CD of the program that I placed in it.

  It won't read a DVD.  It will not read ANY CD or DVD.  I tried 12 different CD/DVD.  This isn't an upgrade to Vista; the computer came "made for Vista" with Vista installed on it.  I had added Nero.  I removed Nero.  I did all the updates. I have not released the driver and reinstalled.  He claims to have the latest driver software, but it won't work.  The computer can see the CD/DVD, but he calls it a 'CDROM '.  It is not the case.  It is a DVD/Cd-RW with Labelflash.

  I did everything suggested that past discussions.  I ran FIXIT program that claims that the drive works properly.  It is not the case.

  I tried to get various programs to recognize.  They cannot see the installed media.

  I uninstalled iTunes.

  Please do not give me the answer of cut-and - paste stock; It does not work.

  Please tell me what to do to make Vista see the media inserted in the CD/DVD-RW drive.

  Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

  I can read both regular DVD and Blu - ray DVD in my drive and until a few months ago, I could also play CDs.  All of a sudden I couldn't play CD any longer. The drive recognize anything in the drive when a CD is in it. The PC 'says' it's empty. I tried to fix the problem with the removal of the drive in the list of the unit, but she came back with the same disability as descripbed on reboot. • Satellite Pro S300 - screen is blank and can not restart

  A week ago, I left my Satellite Pro S300-EZ2502 at night (as usual). It was fine tonight.

  The next day, I got a black screen and a flashing light orange on the left side. I tried to turn it off, don't restart, no dice.
