SSO domain ID correspond with membership of related modes

Hello

SSO is of course a pain in the @$S, I have created two fresh instances of vCenter. All services have been installed individually (so no simple installation).

The two instances are configured for multisite

Before installing the second instance I exported as explained in the articles UNIQUE authentication data.
I created the second instance in the same way. Has pointed out my primary server for SSO SSO using multimode.
Once 2nd vCenter was running I exported the UNIQUE authentication data and imported on the primary standards body, again according to the instructions in KB.

Then I tried to join the second instance in bound mode the first instance that fails.
The tool.log of status.txt file and join say there is an incompatibility of domain ID. Apparently this happens when not to use the multisite SSO, but I set it up in these two facilities.

What could be the cause of that time? I found an article that talks of veryfying ID but for some reason that I do not have access

http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/search.do?cmd=displayKC & docType = kc & externalId = 2050493 & sliceId = 1 & docTypeID = DT_KB_1_1 & dia...

I checked that the first Victoria Cross and indeed appearing as part of a config attached. I was not able to isolate configuration as editor that reported an error. I managed to get it joined after I deleted the 2nd VC instance by the ADSI Configurator in the first instance.
It seems so when there is an error with joining during installation that it leaves some settings behind which prevents to join them later.

Will this work?  Something else I'm missing?  AsingleWeb server instance will be able to manage multiple vCenters?

    Hello, MattG.

Yes, you can use 1 SS and 1 service WebClient for "single-pane-of-view" for 2 vCenters, I did the same thing recently, and you need not related modes. Just point your SSO and Web when installing two vCenters. But in this case, you can manage both of them single point in the Web Client, no thick vSphere client. If you need to manage two of them only heavy customer too, then you should make the related modes, but in this case as far as I know, you must also install multi-site SSO, not simple SSO node. I use the first schema.

Question has now moved to the space of the feedback from the community.

The community provides for the possibility for members to upload documents to the content-> spaces of Documents in the workspace of each product (if available).  However, the feature is currently disabled for most members due to problems with spam, so only a few members (most of Oracle employees) have the necessary permissions to do this.

The admin studying how they can implement something that would allow members to upload documents, etc., which also has some mechanism to prevent spam.

  • Related modes, nothing happens?

I have built 3 separate independent vCenter servers during the last 2 months. DR, VDI and PROD.  Each is based on Windows 2008 R2 and vCenter 4.0 with update 1 is running.  They are also all on the same domain with the firewall disabled.  PROD was done last and I wanted it to be the first server in a connected mode configuration.  So, I proceeded to connect on the server DR and ran the vCenter Server Linked Mode Configuration in the menu start and choose Change Linked Mode Configuration.  I ticked the box "Instance of vCenter server joining an existing group of related modes" or another instance (isolate is greyed out) and registered in the domain name FULL of PROD with Port 389 LDAP server.  Installation completed without error, but when I connect to PROD with the vSphere Client, I don't see anything about DR.  I tried the same procedure with the Server VDI and which shows no more.  I don't have any errors, but nothing seems to happen.  Am I missing something?  Help!

    Scott.

    Try this: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1009551

Also, try to set up the linked profiles logged in as the same user that you have installed vCenter (or try local administrator).

  • "Destroyed" vCenter Server - can it be removed from related modes?

    Hi all

I have set up a small laboratory using esx 4.0 and vcenter 4.0 all them was working fine until today.

There are 2 servers vcenter linked mode. Today one of the servers (it was actually my office running as the second vcenter in the config of bound modes) "crashed" at a point that I'm not sure that it is worth trying to get windows back up again (bad registry file loading failure)

I would like to know how I can remove the second instance of vcenter configuration, so I get the nagging 1 vCenter server is not connected error message.

It would be even possible to reinstall windows, reinstall vcenter, assuming that the host names and intellectual property stay the same and the removal of bound mode later?

    Thank you

    DyJohnny

    Hello

Sorry for your fatal system shutdown.

Well, I don't know if it is possible to reinstall

Windows, reinstall vCenter, hostname/IP condition remain the same.

and then remove VC related modes.

Bound mode, you have added the two systems to the same domain. So for now, you could try removes the VC domain and connect to the system running and the VC as the local administrator.

In addition, I don't know what options you would get if you'd called Installer VC once more on the virtual circuit running. It might give you an option to separate the the Victoria Cross VC crashed (not sure but maybe worth a try).

    Thank you.

If you do not have your XP disk, you can contact Dell and ask them to send you a XP disc.

  • With regard to the mode of transport SYNC

    Version: 11.2.0.3
    Operating system: Unix/Linux platforms

    I'm new to Data guard

It's that I understood on the SYNC mode after googling and read 11.2 doc. correct me if I'm wrong.

    SYNCHRONIZATION (synchronous Transport Mode)
    ======================

With the transmission SYNCHRO mode, LGWR is not allowed to recognize that a commit succeeded until the LNS confirms that it again to retrieve the transaction was written to the Redo logs waiting in the standby.
Until LGWR extracted this confirmation of LNS, the database is suspended and the validation operation is supported. That is to say. In the event of failure of a network between the (primary) production database and the standby database which prevents the
again to be written in the newspapers waiting to roll forward, then the primary database will block.

SYNCHRONIZATION method is also referred to as method "Zero data loss.

But there is an attribute called NET_TIMEOUT for LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n parameter; Assigned (in seconds) decides how long LGWR should wait to hear from LNS on scripture to redo in Standby Redo Logs.

The default value at 11.2 is 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, if LGWR cannot hear the LNS on a succesfull write to redo in Standby Redo Logs, process LGWR disconnects from the LNS and acknowledges the primary VERIFICATION and allow
DB primary to continue treatment even if he can no longer communicate with the day before.

This isn't strictly "zero data loss" as a VALIDATION has been recognized in the primary despite the entrance of again as a result of this change is not written for the eve SRL. Right?

    Question2.

In all our Prod DBs, LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 is set to the value below. No idea what type of protection is this DB in?
        MAXIMUM PROTECTION
        or
        MAXIMUM AVAILABILITY
        or
        MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE ?
    service="HEWRMS_DG", LGWR SYNC AFFIRM delay=0 optional compression=disable max_failure=0 max_connections=1 reopen=300 db_unique_name="HEWRMS_DG" net_timeout=30, valid_for=(all_logfiles,primary_role)

This isn't strictly "zero data loss" as a VALIDATION has been recognized in the primary despite the entrance of again as a result of this change is not written for the eve SRL. Right?

You'll only no loss of data if you have maximum protection. If the primary is unable to reach the day before, it stops after a fixed delay. Oracle recommend two standby mode if you want maximum protection.

In available maximum primary will try to reach the previous day in the net_timeout value and whether it will commit the transaction and move. It will essentially drop down for maximum performance until it can connect to the waiting again.

Check the mode of protection of data.

    select protection_mode from v$database;

Should read: you only have the guarantee of no data loss with maximum protection. You have no data loss with maximum availability until your watch and network are correct.

    Hi guys,.

    Here's my question:

We have two VCenter 4.0 in a group of related modes and we want to upgrade one of them in 4.1.

Is it possible to stay in bound mode if we have a VCenter 4.0 and a VCenter 4.1.

Yes, 4.0.x and 4.1 can be connected together, if that is the question you are asking.

This is my first shot to create a virtual machine VMware

We just got a new server in a data center

Its windows 2008 Server. (the 64-bit version)

My plan is to run a Server 2008 ontop of a host of Server 2008 virtual machine

I put the image to use 1 core of the dual core CPU and the memory (4gig) half and half of disk space on drive D (50 GB)

Then I installed virtual server 2, and any

Then I installed the thing that makes you see the window in Internet Explorer (some may be active x thing?)

In any case, at the time of starting the server VM, I get the message:

    Windows Boot Manager

Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. to solve the problem:

    1. Insert your windows installation disc, and then restart your computer

    2. choose your language settings

    3. click on repair your computer

If you do not have the disk contact sys admin...

I'm a little confused on this, the server is located in a datacenter somewhere and I don't think that the CD option is viable, because they will probably be responsible for a lot of things to do

Any ideas what I should try?

the cpu is 64-bit but because I split at the image, I'm not sure if that is break things

    Any advice appreciated

You can run virtual servers, they simply can be 64-bit because your processor doesn't support VT

  • Image file capwap IOS corresponding with image Wlc file flash

Hello to all the experts wireless

My willingness to question may seem a little more evident for some of you, but here it is :)

I would like to understand the relationship between the Capwap IOS image file I see while typing "dir flash" on an AP and version a WLC gives to this access point when joining it. My wlc runs 7.4.100 and about to access flash (2602i):

  • HSB corresponding with the HSL adjustments

    Quick version:

How to match a TSL value using the STL of a Hue/Saturation adjustment sliders? You may need to read the detailed Version to get.

    Detailed version:

    Last Question:

If I KNOW the original value is HSB = 0 °, 100%, 100% and I KNOW the offsets of final colors will produce a value of HSB = 7 °, 62%, 74%, is there a way to enter these values in AN adjustment layer to produce known color shifts?

    Detailed explanation:

I do test prints for Sublimation on coloured materials.

I do not ask for advice of Sublimation, and no matter if you don't know what it is, just give the scenario for clarity.

For test prints, I have a series of 6 squares:

    All together for 100% Saturation, 100% brightness and six squares set at 0, 60, 120, 180, 240, 300 Hueº.

These are then pressed on different color shirts.

Once pressed, I analyze the hardware itself and take it into Photoshop to measure offsets of colors using the eyedropper tool.

I know that this is not an EXACT duplication, but is close.

Using the red square on the yellow material for example, its original inside Photoshop value was HSB = 0 °, 100%, 100%

The scanned copy of the same red square on the yellow material has a value of HSB = 7 °, 62, 74

    Basically, it's a difference of HSB = + 7,-38, -26

I do the same for all squares of color and measure the difference. Now, I know what these colors will look like when printed.

For making models, adjustment of the layer of multiply's work is generally a good starting point, but I still need to make an adjustment layer to clip to the layer of the work so I can see what the color shift will look like when printed there is no drastic surprises and waste of materials. It seemed simple: the value of the work of multiply layer and cut a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to it with the "Reds" (tried 'Master' too, same results) sidelined, STL which was + 7,-38-26... Until I realized that the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer used HSL (light), not HSB (brightness)...

I tried to simply "eyeball" to relatives with decent results. I made a new place on the screen with the aim (HSB = 7 °, 62, 74), then a 2nd square with the original value (HSB = 0º, 100%, 100%) and use a hue/Sat adjustment layer. Using a 3rd party system color sampler to sample the on-screen colors, the adjustment values DID he make the right colors were:

    Hue = + 7

    Saturation = - 52

    Lightness = + 3

So, as you can see, in THEORY, HSB = + 7,-38-26 EXPECTED to have changed the color to the desired value, but it was in FACT of HSL = + 7,-52, + 3 who has worked... The part of HUE is correct, but the Saturation is not so the lightness/brightness difference is drastic.

So what I was wondering is, is there a way, a formula or something, change the original colors to color desired using an adjustment layer mathematically?

Once again, 'the eye' with the material in one hand and the other hand on the mouse manually move the sliders STL in a hue/Sat adjustment layer until I get a close approximation works most of the time, but it takes FOREVER...

If I KNOW the original value is HSB = 0 °, 100%, 100% and I KNOW the offsets of final colors will produce a value of HSB = 7 °, 62%, 74%, is there a way to enter these values in AN adjustment layer to produce known color shifts?

This is a versatile converter, well-> HSL STL and STL-> HSB:

RGB to HEX color converter; convert RGB to HEX, TSL, TSL, CIELab

Conversion is normally managed by formulas, using any RGB space as

connection color space (all RGB, it's just the same space).
