  • The series of stackable N1500 switches

    Hello everyone

I'm doing 4 switches a stack but without any luck so far.  I believe I have followed the steps correctly but I don't really know why others do not themselves add to the stack. If anyone has some free time, please have a look at the steps I take below:

    1. the cables that I use are SFP 10 G. I want to use ports 0/1/3 and 1/0/4. I can confirm that the cables are connected correctly to form a ring topology.

    2. turn on the switch 1 (that I want to be the master) and access the switch using hyperterminal.

    3. after a minute or two, I turn on the next switch, then the rest of them.

    3. go into 'operational mode ' and launch the "Setup Wizard". I have then create an admin account and configure vlan1. I enter the IP address, the subnet and the GW

4 then I follow the steps in this link: http://www.dell.com/Support/Article/us/en/19/HOW10800

    5. once I run 'reload', I restart all switches but they all become unit 1.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong here. Any suggestions please?

Your step 1 I believe that you have already connected cables, then to step 4 (where it takes you to another set of steps) it is said to wait and cable together after setting each past mode stacking ports.  I think at this point, you may need to start over and uncable them.  Then go into each switch (which are yet to show that they are offline) and re - run the commands 'stack stack-port 1/0/4 tengigabitethernet' and «stack stack-port 1/0/3 tengigabitethernet»  Make sure that you back up your configuration (copy run start).  Then turn off all switches, cables up to ports stacking in a ring and start all designated captain that they way until you can connect to it.  Then raise the following in the same way.  Run the show command of battery system to display the stack of the two switches works, then turn on the other switches.

    I hope this helps!

  • Stackable inter-serie

    Hello

Before you start left exercise me the by official "help I'm not a network guy" sentence!

I just bought 2 x N2048 L2 switch with stacking cables. I need to configure these to work with an existing pile of L3 PC 6224. 6224 battery has 2 x 10GB sfp module links and is configured as an access and management with all VLAN resulted them in a firewall.

the order of for the States of N2048 (not stacking inter series) stacking is very different between these 2 switches is not surprising - so it seems I should these LAG? -What would look like this?

Thank you and all my apologies if this is very blurry

    Rob.

    Hi, Rob!

The LAG (aggregation of links) is simply two or more cables of connection between two network devices. A single cable connection can also work, but using several cables can provide higher availability (backup in case where a cable/port breaks down) and higher bandwidth.   GAL (also known as the Group of channels or channels of port) can be created through 2 or more ports of the switches of members different battery.

In your case, it seems that you want to move forward and to stack your switches N2000 using cables stacking that came with them.  Once this is done, you can use two or more cables to connect the two batteries.  Each stack will look like a single switch to any other network device that connects to it. Each of your stacks think so in this case, that it only connects to another switch even if it is actually connected to another battery (multiple switches).

For high availability, plug a cable in a stack member (any port) and the second into a second member of the same stack stack (any port) is the best practice.  Do the same for the other battery when connecting the two batteries.  In this way, if a member breaks down, connectivitiy between two batteries will stay up.   This example is just using an OFFSET of 2-port, but the same thing could be done if you use more ports.

  • benefits of the stackable switches on San

    Hello

I'm about to deploy an iscsi San (eql) network. I'm going for this design. I use two well PC5548

My question is what are the benefits of the stack of the two switches? If I just cross/split connect them should not be redundant?

With EQL suggesting for all ports on the storage CARD in an OFFSET, this SHIFT needs to go to a physics/battery unit. And should not be split across several separate switches. With this in mind, so trying to keep the idea of redundancy, I would propose a combination of the two.

With the above you end up with a redundancy of the storage unit to the battery, as well as a redundancy of the stack to the stack.

This configuration is correct? or I can go to slave?

    Thank you for your attention

That's right, the backup is next inline in models sg to the master, 3 roles, backup/master/slave, if you add another switch it will be slave, only switches that are remaining after that the master and the backup are called slaves, so your fine

  • Switches Cisco stackable, 500 and the consolidation of NETWORK cards

Am looking using the stacking and NIC teaming to create redunancy for user access to servers. What I think is becoming 2 switches SG500-28 and set them up in a stack which appears as a logical switch. Now on the servers I have re 2 network cards to be a team so that they appear as a logical interface 1, perferably in an active/active configuration using LACP. In this team NIC take 1 member of the team to either switch B, so that each Member of the team is on separate switches.

    Givent the scenario:

    (1) who will work with the switches of the 500 series? The switches is that their price point is perfect for my client.

    (2) in addition, the connection of the battery will be there also needs to be a GAP between the switches or the connection of the battery is also data traffic?

    Hi Robert,.

    (1) I don't see any reason that this would not work as desired. There are the requirements by doing a SHIFT but being on the same physical switch isn't a.

    (2) with the switch of SG500 line, you have a few options for up/down the link between the switches to the battery, it depends on the model. Each of them supports 1 G up and down links with copper. The switches are then divided and support 5G or 10G mini-gbic down links. There is not currently an options trolling battery links.

Let me know if that answers your questions!

  • AnyConnect SSL Premium license not stackable

Hi, first of all, thank you for reading my entry.

Recently I have activation of license SSL problem.

Customer purchase L-ASA-SSL-50 = and L-ASA-SSL-250 = for their ASA5540 in support of 300 peers.

I realize the two key PAK set separated by commas, but I get an activation code for 50 peers.

Answer license 250 TAC cannot be shown due to the system detect there are already 50 licenses.

That means 250 = and = 50 cannot be stacked together to reach 300.

I searched to find Cisco doc about this problem, but no luck.

Has anyone read this Cisco documentation somewhere?

Now, Cisco can add the 250 = license and remove 50 =.

But I do not know if this add 250 = can replace 50 = installed to ASA.

Someone at - it similar cases?

My source is a guarantee of training partner.

There is a small reference to this behavior in the following location:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/iOS-sslvpn/67909-SSL-...

I have not performed the upgrade right that you are talking about but, so general, licensed ASA is passed and implemented via an activation key that is generated by the internal system from Cisco and, when it is installed, it will result in the unit reflecting the level of license bought - assuming that it was purchased correctly of course.

Your dealer should be able to advise you on the right track.

  • Perfectly stackable frames vertically

I would like two blocks of text vertically in such a way that the lower part of the upper frame is exactly aligned with the top of the lower frame of the stack. How can I do this?

By default, managers should align with other executives, and you can still select a frame and set the x and is coordinated in the control panel.

But simply snap together frames could you not give the desired effect (I don't know why you would do this, so I can't say for sure) because the text is unable to fill the upper frame, leaving the fate of the space downstairs that you are looking for. Automatic adjustment options and the first base line can give you more control, or you can use a two-row table in a unique setting.

  • where to put the 2nd disk to the 500-281 Pavilion?

I have reviewed the online documentation and have actually looked inside the computer, but don't see where a 2nd SATA drive is supposed to be installed.  I saw additional power cables, understand where the cable plugs into the card mother, quite familiar with how to add a disk.  But on this PC I do not a priori where the reader will.

As I write, I also want to confirm that the 300W power supply is sufficient for the extra drive.

    Thank you.

    Hello

You power supply is sufficient for additional hard disks. However, depending on your model, it may or may not be a provision for one SSD 2.5 ".  You need to open your PC and air.  Please see the image below.

In fact, the SSD hard drive or 2.5 "Monte on the side of the chassis in. Review the information that is displayed in this thread. You will need a SATA data cable.

Thanks for the suggestions. After losing days on this problem, the only solution is to use an earlier version of Java 7 with Internet Explorer ignore all security warnings. Of course, it's now a security issue to use on the Internet. NETGEAR cannot sell a product like this. I now dedicate a laptop only for this function.
Do not buy this product, unless you're happy to do the same thing.

  • Satellite Pro M70: What USB 2.0 Port Replicator is compatible?

Would be grateful if someone could advise me on the purchase of a USB 2.0 port replicator.

I think the 3 USB 2.0 ports on my laptop Pro M70 are not enough, and that's why I want to buy a USB 2.0 Port Replicator.

The site of the Toshiba shop specifies USB 2.0 Port Replicator II (UK) with port network, part number: PX1173U-1PRP, price: 49,93 GBP.

It has 4 USB ports 2.0, which would give me a total of 6 USB 2.0 ports, which would be the absolute minimum I want. (It also has 2 PS/2 ports, 1 serial port RS232 and 1 USB 2.0 port network that takes in charge rates of 10 / 100 Mbps).

Can anyone tell if it is powered by the laptop, or by it's own adapter?

Unfortunately, the Web of Toshiba site has advised that it is currently out of stock and are difficult to get in on all the time, as they are the subject of a sort of "green manufacturing" test.

This prompted me to consider buying a replicator USB 2.0 ports alternative and all I would prefer one with more than 4 USB 2.0 ports, and in fact 6 or more USB 2.0 ports would be preferable. I'm not really interested in other types of ports that are often provided with the replicators of USB 2.0 ports.

I would be grateful if someone could recommend/Advisor at a replicator USB 2.0 ports alternative that would be compatible with my laptop Pro M70.

One of my concerns is how the port replicator USB 2.0 Port is powered. I think I would have preferred that the unit is powered by its own adapter, I understand is 5 Volts with 500 milliamps for each port, rather than to the laptop (probably would be less tax on the laptop, with less heating).

    Thank you
    AlanCB

I can't comment on the question whether the Replicator you mention has its own power source, although I suspect, he does

However, I have a satellite Pro M70 too and with a similar problem and wanting a hub to connect to all my external printers, Sandy etc using just one connection, I buy PA3390E-1MPM - a hub of Toshiba, Audio/USB multimedia center, which goes a step further and provides a hub not only for USB sources , but also for the speakers etc.

It has its own power supply to the unit and connects via USB 2.0 to my laptop. It is also stackable with the Toshiba Gigastore 250 GB USB 2.0 external hard drive (PA3392E-1MPS) which I also use for backups, storing external data etc.

Had the two units for 3 months now and everything works fine. I got headr of some problems with people in loss of access to the hard drive, but it seems that it was never if it has been disconnected by pulling the cord out usb, rather than make a ' Safely Remove Hardware to disconnect the USB device and so far have had no probs at all

It has 4 ports, more port network and connections from the speakers for the configurations 2/2.1/4/4.1/5.1 full, more Creative software like drivers, more remote control useful to control audio devices. Oh, and also a Surround sound, and EAX

Maybe a little more of your option, but worth it in my opinion. If you can't find it on the Toshiba site I have purchased from www.insight.com

    Hope that helps
