Standby problem

When I wake up my spare computer that lights up the tower and I have to turn off the tower and restart the computer to make it work.  If anyone can help, it will be a great help. If you think that my answers are useful please vote and mark as a possible answer. Thank you.

I think I could have found out what's happening.  I've recently been delivered with a card reader chip USB of British Gas.  I think that if it's on when I put my computer to sleep, wake up the computer is avoid a complete wake up.  I currently trying several Standby with the player UN plugged and then perform some with hip drive and report back.  Currently, I expect the delivery to a hub if I can do these tests without crawling on the back of my office to plug and unplug the drive.

With respect to the monitor, there is no anomaly whatsoever and all my gear is less than 12 months.  It is not the monitor that doesn't wake up, it's only partially wake the computer.  I wonder if it's an OS problem or a problem of material/mobo.  It has no listed conflicts or errors in the eventviewer Manager or device.

If you think that my answers are useful please vote and mark as a possible answer. Thank you.

  • 3015 concentrator active - standby problems

    I have two 3015 concentrators in Configuration of the active reserve. They worked flawless for many years. A recent lightning strike killed one of them, and I cried.

    The new is different from that of Cisco.

    OLD: Only power, 128 MB of RAM, 2.5 bootcode, software 3.6.1

    NEW: Two power supplies, 256 MB of RAM, not sure of the number of laps bootcode and software, but the machine is brand new Cisco, so they should be more recent.

    I tried to configure Active in sleep on them, like the day before by the new. In fact, he entered the asset without the ability to switch if it was turned off.

    Two hubs must be identical (memory, power supplies, bootcode, software rev) to work together?

    Michael,

    The VPN3000 Public and private Interface connected to the same switch. If so, they are on different VLANS. If not, can you configure the VPN Public and private Interface to be on different VLANS.

    If you still have questions, please post the logs of Protocol VRRP since concentrators.

    I hope it helps.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite L505D - problem with mode standby in Windows 7

    It's me again, in the last thread:

    "Hello friends,

    I have a big problem when Windows 7 updated itself. I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L505D. When I close the lid, it will automatically 'sleep' mode. Unfortunately, the screen is black and the laptop is still in progress, I have to stop it and then turn. Is it a problem with the driver 'stack '? Please, help me :)). "

    The mode 'sleep' worked perfeclty for a few days and it's still gone... What more when I try to enter the mode "sleep" I can't do anything on the laptop, it still works on the white screen and the transformers fan works high speed. In recent days, when the "sleep mode" worked, windows has no update...

    I don't know what is happening... :) Weird problem, isn't?

    It is not easy to say why this is happening. In your last post, you wrote about some updates of windows. Who knows what's wrong there.
    If nothing is done, not even system restore and you want to use the standby mode I recommend you save all your data and install the new OS by using recovery mode.

    With the settings everything's going to be OK but then be careful with updates.

  • Satellite 1905 - problem with the touchpad after awakening from Hibernation/standby

    Greetings.

    I've known a few interesting problems with my Satellite 1905 - S301.
    Whenever he wakes up from hibernation/standby my touchpad stopped accepting "taps" as a click on the left button of the mouse. It works normally with finger motion detection, but stops at all but it is quite annoying to restart the machine whenever he returns from hibernation mode.

    I've done a small workaround and after I close the laptop lid still works but this isn't the way it should work, I would have preferred that she either Hibernate than running for 10 hours without any sense;).

    Can someone give me the solution to this problem, please?
    Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards
    Akar

    Hello

    I agree with you. It s very boring to restart the machine each time to use the touchpad.
    This problem appears on the first day?

    I think there might be a software problem and, possibly, the new installation of operating system recovery CD Toshiba could help.
    I know, the complete installation is not the best solution, but it might help.

    You should also check you the touchpad. Satellite 1905 - S301 was designed for the U.S. market and so I checked the American website for available drivers.
    It seems that 5.3.203.2 is a newer version of the Alps touchpad driver for Windows XP.

    I suggest to reinstall the touchpad driver and check if there is no improvement.

  • T60 - problems with long active standby

    Hi all

    Hopfully, can someone point me in the right direction with a problem I encounter with one of the ThinkPad T60.

    Here's the run down:

    We did 3 of the T60 (type 6369-A56) last December (online sales of web). 1 of the three displays problems when dealing with the day before. If the laptop goes into sleep mode during more than anywhere between 30 minutes to 1 hour that the laptop is not repeated mode standby when you open the lid of the laptop or use the Fn function key. When two approaches to bring the laptop leaves standby mode the Moon cresent LED stays on, the HARD Drive LED turns on for a brief second and then turns off, the power light and strong say, the screen remains blank at any time. When this happens, you can hear/feel the disk HARD turns to the top and doing something and you can also hear the CPU fan spin in the action as if it came out the day before. Does not seem to have taken power to make a difference with this problem.

    I already talked to Lenovo support RELATIVE to this subject and they believe it's a software problem. I did a few more tests to try to determine that this is what I did...

    I took a Norton Ghost image of one of the 2 working T60 HDD (Eve works perfectly on two other laptops) and used this Image for ghost in the T60 defective HARD drive, this gave me two identical laptops (hardware and software). Power for laptop mode is as follows, turn off the display @ 5 minutes, switch Mode suspend @ 15 minutes. I left computers laptops only at exactly 09:05, 5 minutes later so empty screens, @ 15 minutes later, the two went in standby mode. 45 min after sleep mode had struck I returned to two laptop computers and for laptops (at the same time), use the Fn key and the defective T60 does not return from the day before and the same symptoms as mentioned earlier it happened.

    After this I decied to see what would happen if I changed the HARD drive between laptops (from the laptop failed drive in the laptop to work), failed hard drive of the laptop working in laptop. After the passage of the HARD drive, I ran the same tests as above. Yet once, 45 minutes after the day before had been very active, I used the Fn key to get out of sleep mode and the laptop with the failed hard drive from the laptop worked directly at the exit of the batt, but the hard drive of the laptop from work to the faulty laptop displayed the same problems as mentioned above thus excluding the software as the cause of the problem.

    My question is, knowing all this, where is the problem likely to be? Is - it's going to be RAM related or associated with Board?

    The result of likley going to be back to Lenovo for repair?

    See you soon
    Chris

    Hello

    Yes, after trying one number of other things I determinined it was the motherboard at fault. Introduced a job guaranteed with Lenovo and returned to the unit for repair. Less a week we had it back, running without problem (they replaced the sys Board).

    See you soon

  • Problems with Windows 10 screen standby and sleep mode

    After downloading 10 Windows on my desktop all-in-one HP, I have problems with the display of standby and sleep mode.  When the computer turns off, he doesn't have the bright screen.

    After the upgrade to Windows 10, some laptops have experienced one or more of the following symptoms:

    • > Power LED remains lit after stopping
    • > Computer enters standby or hibernation.

    HP recommends that customers see these symptoms first update the graphics drivers by removing and then reinstalling the hardware in Device Manager.

    See the section updating the graphics driver from where can I find drivers Windows 10 and software for my model?

  • I'm having a problem with my power supply options, no matter what I do, it goes automatically into mode standby a few minutes running.

    I keep changing power options, even the one who always says, but this isn't help even when I restart after setting up things. It will just automatically to stand-by after a few minutes, no matter what I do, most of the time and not always. so it happened me really confused as far as what I need to do.

  • Possible standby or Hibernate problem

    I don't know what's going on, but if I leave the computer for a few minutes (less), I'll be back on my laptop Pavilion 6000 showing the power & other lights are on but the screen is black. I tried pressing FN + F5, but nothing happens. I pressed the power button & it will sound as it stops & all the lights go out, but a few seconds later it powers back on the same thing happens - nothing! I tried using the F8 key to open the selection of Mode, but nothing changes - no. slider AND remains black. CTRL Alt Del does nothing either.

    I have talked to the dealer & he said turning the computer off and remove the battery. Reinstall the battery AFTER 30 minutes and start it again. It worked! However, this same problem has reocurred about 10 times since yesterday & remove the battery & reinstalling does not help always. I'm becoming angry.

    I was hoping maybe the computer went automatically to standby mode & all I need is to know how to reactivate the computer to start working again. If this is not the case, there may be another question, I need to address.

    I checked SEVERAL articles in the knowledge base of HP, but I have found no solution to every problem. I would like suggestions that anyone can offer.

    Thanks, Sustran

    Mariza, you're so nice to follow up with me. I thought I had checked the original carefully URL, but I definitely missed the number RG253UAA. I recorded the new URL, copied the info from the section on my computer, & will contact the reseller with the news. I will also keep watch of the contentious site for continuous instructions & timing. SUPER CONGRATULATIONS to yoou with my sincere thanks. I don't know what will come of this, but it seems that there is a certain satisfaction in the end.

    In the meantime, I am pleased to let you know that I finally got power on the computer and bring it into Windows normally. I raised the computer on the desk at an eagle on the back is so about 3 inches for better circulation of air in an attempt to avoid overheating. Because I had heard a slight clicking sound every time the computer starts would displays only the blank screen, I pressed the CD/DVD drive hard inside his car. Then on powering upward, the computer went straight into Windows as usual. The player seems to be sure, but the clicking on sounded like an activation CD. I can't imagine that it worked OR why it worked, but I was on the last 6 hours trying to backup all my files in case I have to reformat. I'll try to start normally tomorrow, but if it doesn't work, I will try to press the CD player again.

    You have been more kind, & thank you very much for your time & effort. I will mark this as "resolved" now.

    All the best to you,

    Sustran

  • Timer standby and resumption of the workflow problem.

    Has anyone ran this question before, and if so, how do solve you?

    I have a fairly simple workflow that I use in my Sleep function in my workflow:

    workflow.PNG

    'Set date' just creates a date object that is waiting specified seconds time in the future, then called "Pending timer" by that date.

    It seems to work great, workflows suspended as they should, reducing the load on the server so that its waiting for the next thing to do.

    However, if the server is restarted and workflows resume later never seems to trigger the "timer on hold". I guess it's because while he has to wait for is in fact in the past.

    Anyone know of a way to solve this problem or a better way of suspending the workflow without using System.sleep ()?

    OK, so it seems that this is a problem with 5.1.0 build 2725. I don't know how it was fixed, but it works in 5.5.1 build 1617127.

    The question is that "Hold timer" does not throw an exception if the date he expects in the past in 5.5.1 it does.

    I changed the flow of work to properly handle the case where the vCO server is restarted while the timer standby is suspended.

  • Problem creating physical standby with RMAN

    Hi guru

    Perhaps this impact that all face you when creating physical standby DB. I'm trying to create a physical standby database Using RMAN double order a server

    (pri machine) machine on standby.

    Here are the steps I followed to create the above:

    Step 1:-activate forced logging

    SQL > ALTER DATABASE FORCE LOGGING;

    Step 2:-set up a standby Redo Log

    SQL > ALTER DATABASE ADD STANDBY LOGFILE GROUP 10

    2 > ('/ oracle/dbs/log1c.rdo','/oracle/dbs/log2c.rdo') SIZE 500 M;

    Step 3:-set the parameters of primary database initialization

    SQL > create pfile='?/dbs/pfileorcl.ora' of spfile;

    Edit the pfile to add the sleep settings, shown here:

    db_unique_name = "orcl".

    LOG_ARCHIVE_CONFIG = 'DG_CONFIG = (ORCL, orcldr)'

    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 = "SERVICE = orcldr LGWR ASYNC VALID_FOR =(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME = orcldr'"

    * .fal_server = orcldr

    * .fal_client = orcl

    * .standby_file_management = auto

    Step 4:-activate archiving

    SQL > SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE;

    SQL > STARTUP MOUNT;

    SQL > ALTER DATABASE ARCHIVELOG;

    SQL > ALTER DATABASE OPEN;

    Step 5:-tnsnames for eve of the configuration database

    This should be done on the primary database to edit tnsnames.ora or using the command NetCA and create by the name orcldr

    orcldr =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = Eve-svr)(PORT = 1521))

    (CONNECT_DATA =

    (SERVER = DEDICATED)

    (SERVICE_NAME = orcldr)

    )

    )

    Step 6:-backup of database and copy it to standby mode

    This backup script must be run on primary and copied to sleep on the same mount point, run these scripts with RMAN, all files in /rman_backup need to be copied in /rman_backup on the standby server.

    $rman target.

    RMAN > run

    {

    allocate channel c1 type disk;

    allocate channel c2 type disk;

    backup of database format ' / rman_backup/%U';

    ARCHIVELOG backup all the format ' / rman_backup %U ';

    backup current controlfile to Eve format ' / rman_backup/%U';

    }

    Step 7:-availability of measures database

    Installation of Oracle software

    This should be the same version and patch group with exactly same ORACLE_HOME mount point.

    Commissioning of the listener

    Create and start a listener on the database of sleep by using NetCA, or create listener.ora in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin

    LISTENER =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = Eve-svr)(PORT = 1521))

    )

    Step 8:-set of backup database initialization parameters

    Copy the pfile file created in the database primary it renames in initorcldr.ora and change these settings:

    db_unique_name = "orcldr".

    LOG_ARCHIVE_CONFIG = 'DG_CONFIG = (orcldr, ORCL)'

    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 = "SERVICE = orcl LGWR ASYNC VALID_FOR =(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME = orcl'"

    * .fal_server = orcl

    * .fal_client = orcldr

    *. LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_STATE_2 = 'ENABLE '.

    Step 9:-installation tnsnames for the primary database

    This should be done on the pending change tnsnames.ora or using the command NetCA database and create it in the name orcl

    ORCL =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = primary-svr)(PORT = 1521))

    (CONNECT_DATA =

    (SERVER = DEDICATED)

    (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)

    )

    )

    Step 10:-copy a password file

    A password file must be created on the primary and copied to the standby site. The sys password must be the same on both sites. Copy orapworcl in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs and rename the file in orapworcldr

    Step 11:-create for Oracle mount points

    Mount point must be created on the standby server with the same convention used in primary education, which includes the location for controlfiles, redo logs, data files, destination of the newspaper Archives and alert logs.

    $ mkdir Pei/u01/app/oracle/oradata/orcl /.

    $ mkdir Pei/u01/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area /.

    $ mkdir Pei/u01/app/oracle/admin/orcl/adump

    $ mkdir Pei/u01/app/oracle/admin/orcl/bdump

    $ mkdir Pei/u01/app/oracle/admin/orcl/cdump

    $ mkdir Pei/u01/app/oracle/admin/orcl/udump

    Step 12:-use RMAN to restore the backup and standby configuration

    Connecting to RMAN and run the following command to create the database pending, this must be performed on the standby server after the backup copy and the tnsnames parameter.

    $ export ORACLE_SID = orcldr

    $ rman target sys/tiger@orcl auxiliary sys/tiger@orcldr

    RMAN > target double standby database dorecover;

    Here, I'm getting problem such as:

    While he was trying to connect to databases traget and auxiliary, I noticed that when RMAN is connected across the two databases it shows

    ORCL (DBID xyz)

    ORCL (unmounted)

    Here, in my opinion the second database must be the name of the standby database or auxiiary db name is Eve db which is orcldr in my case

    After this issue, I am faced with the second issues such as:

    in command

    target double standby database dorecover;

    After you change the command to

    RMAN > duplicate target database "sleep."

    RMAN-05520 database name mismatch

    Can u please let me know where I can be wrong

    Finally I have the problem after all this googling and thinking the same thing.

    Thanks to you all

  • Lenovo WiFi question and Standby / Hibernate problem

    I have a Lenovo 3000 v200 laptop under Windows XP SP3 (recently retired).

    It is fully updated with all Windows updates and updates from Lenovo and no change in

    material has been done.

    I have two annoying problems. I searched the forum good responses

    (many other users seem to suffer from similar problems) but no solution has been

    presented.

    1. my wireless connection works 95% of the time without problems.

    But occationally the wireless fails to launch when I start the PC.

    I have nothing bring WiFi on, only a reboot will solve

    the problem. I tried to play around with the options available

    via the WiFi software without success. Some networks are visible

    even if the hardware and software WiFi switches are 'on '.

    Device Manager does not indicate something wrong with the unit.

    I saw this message several times: "battery wireless failed to launch.

    Someone at - it a solution for this (restart to the exclusion, that is)?

    2 standby does not work. When after a wait of some processes

    You seem to lock up most of the resources of the system. One of the hearts

    works at 100% load and the other is inactive. Research in the Task Manager

    I see several processes competing for the top position in the CPU usage.

    I get not a clear idea of this process is the problem, but I think it's safety

    Associates. There seems to be a driver problem, rather than the result of my software

    (Firewall, Antivirus,...). I guess that since the same software works well with

    watch over my other laptop (also Win XP SP3). Apart from monopolizing the

    System resourses the problem does not prevent me to get online and

    in collaboration with most of the applications.

    Hibernation does not work. During the recovery, the PC crashes completely

    (before that the Office is reached) and it will not meet any entry, a material

    reset is necessary.

    Any thoughts on the above problems?

    Everyone has the same problems?

    Suggestions for updating/making drivers back?

    Happy for Fredrik advice

    Sorry for bringing This new thread since no one else seems interested.
    I however managed to solve these problems on my own, so I want

    share workarounds if by chance anyone would win.

    First one quote another post by myself:

    «Sometimes when I boot the PC will connect to the network and everything works fine.»
    At other times, after start-up, the "wireless stack initialization failed, error code: 118 ' problem

    and the only way to fix it seems to be a restart of the PC. Anything else I do to display the network.
    If I look at the tab network layout in the Task Manager indicates that none of the adapters are available (cable eth.
    Access also fails).  This is obviosly a problem with the Access Connections software
    Since the wireless network works well when I let windows manage... »

    So there is no real solution to the problem WiFi only workaround is to let Windows manage the

    WLAN security. I used the laptop for two weeks now and wireless works perfectly under XP

    control.  What have I done? I edited my profile of connection in the dial-up connections:

    Open connections > location profile tab > select profile > wireless settings tab > option 4.

    Wireless security type = use Windows to configure wireless network

    I must say that the logins is useless to me now. It does not allow me to view and select

    wireless networks, but which can be done both through the windows graphical user interface. However, I can use

    graphical versions of Ping, Trace Route and IP Config (in the dial-up connections) if I want to.

    The solution to the second problem was easy as soon as I find the culprit.

    This problem is also related to WiFi, apperently drivers Intel WLAN/material

    can not handle standby correctly

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/951447

    What have I done? I stopped windows turning off the wireless network adapter to save power:

    Open Device Manager (for example the Panel > system > Hardware tab) > right click of the WLAN card >

    Select Properties > power management tab > clear the check box to be able to save.

    "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
