standby, RMAN-8137 and Oracle 10.2.0.4

Last week, I experienced a serious network problem, my experienced gal standby databases.

Now that everything should work fine, I still can use the ENTRY to REMOVE to remove the archivelogs
RMAN> backup as compressed backupset archivelog all delete input;
RMAN-08137: WARNING: archive log not deleted as it is still needed
archive log filename=/u01/app/oracle/admin/DB01/arch/DB01_30288_1_663410211.arc
  thread=1 sequence=30288
I have no lag in waiting.
SQL> select process, thread#, sequence#, status from v$managed_standby ;

PROCESS      THREAD#  SEQUENCE# STATUS
--------- ---------- ---------- ------------
ARCH               1      30322 CLOSING
ARCH               1      30323 CLOSING
RFS                1      30324 IDLE
MRP0               1      30324 APPLYING_LOG
RFS                0          0 IDLE
It seems out of my dozens of databases, only 2 are affected, the two 10.2.0.4

I'll migrate to 11g in a few months and I might well try to reinstatiate the day before. But I am interested in an alternative, if possible.

The current workaround I use
RMAN> DELETE NOPROMPT ARCHIVELOG ALL BACKED UP 1 TIMES TO DISK ;
Thank you
Laurent

Can you please send a query result more primary?

SQL > select to_char (completion_time, "HH24:MI:SS MON-DD-YYYY) from v$ archived_log where thread #= 1 and sequence #= 30325;

    Prashant;

    I took the time to demonstrate using a tablespace that was NOT a reserved word in the hope that you would see how bad idea using a reserved word is.

    A tablespace is a logical structure and it can be almost any other name.

    Why create this problem yourself when there are simple alternatives?

    Time is the most precious thing in my life and I don't know that it's in yours also.

    Please consider using another name of the tablespace.

    ALTER TABLESPACE TEST RENAME OTEST;

    There is no sense, make things more complex, then they already are.

    If this is really not an option then:

    RMAN> backup tablespace "TEST";

  • RMAN duplication and expiration of the directives on the environment of data warehouse

    Operating systems: Windows Server 2008
    DB: Oracle 11 g 2

    Are there guidelines how often one should do a RMAN duplication and assign an expiration on archivelogs for data warehouse environments?
    It me appears once a day would be enough for overlapping in a data warehouse environment which is updated nightly. Expiration, I don't expect less than 1 week.

    Hello..

    RESTORE THE 3 DATA FILE;

    I get the above error while taking backup RMAN Level0. I am able to connect to the database of the catalogue without any problem.

    I already have this registry database command in RMAN prompt. Now I am able to see backup list but I don't know how that DB asking to sign up for today. Until yesterday, the backups were running fine btu today his application to enter the catalog DB.

    Here we manually to connect the catalogue in this way
    rman target $ /.
    RMAN > catalog connection rmanuser/password @ < globalcatalogDB >
    connected.

    After that if I give this command means...

    RMAN > backup from the list of database;
    I get the error I pasted at the earliest.

    Thanks in advance.

    If you do not have a catalog, you need not to save the database. Rely you only on the target database controlfile. If you use a catalog, you must save the target database, but only once. If you sometimes use a catalog - and sometimes not--the appropriate command is RESYNC (although in many cases RMAN automatically done).

    My question: why are the information stored in the database control file (Faure) target so that its stored in the recovery catalog?

    Hello

    By default, RMAN stored metadata in the file control, all the RMAN is first written to control the file and then catalog of recovery if leaves. For example, when rman creates a new backupset, you can view the information in the v$ backup_set and you can also view the same information of the recovery RC_BAKCUP_SET catalog views.
    So every change repository is stored in two places... Control file and optionally recovery_catalog

    The catalog of recovery of the RMAN Repository versions are stored in database tables and version control repository os file stored as files in with in the control file.

    4.2 the CSA can be installed on the CSACS-1120-K9 unit simply re-Imaging it (so not really a downgrade) with a dedicated DVD.

    You can get such a DVD through an official TAC case:

  • silent uninstall ODAC 12 c module 4 and Oracle development tools

    Hi all

    I need to uninstall a previously installed ODAC 12 c module 4 and Oracle Developer Tools silently. Oui\bin\setup.exe will be fine uninstall, but I want to uninstall it from script.

    There is no button to save a responsefile at the end of the dialog box.

    oui\bin\setup.exe-Enregistrer FichierDestination - odacr4 - deinst.rsp

    Does not complain, but does not record a response file.

    Installation notes describe uninstall them, but not without supervision/silencer.

    Any advice?

    Best regards

    Niels Jespersen

    Here's what I used to silently uninstall ODT with ODAC. It does not require a response file, but requires that you specify the Oracle home

    "{' C:\oracle\product\12.1.0\client_1\oui\bin\setup.exe-silent - waitforcompletion - nowait - uninstall" DEINSTALL_LIST = {"oracle.odac.client","12.1.0.2.0"} "' REMOVE_HOMES={"C:\oracle\product\12.1.0\client_1 "}"

    A log file is generated in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Oracle\Inventory\logs

  • SSO ADF and Oracle Forms?

    Hello

    Is there a recommended way to share authentication between ADF and Oracle forms?

    We currently use Oracle 11 g 2 forms and we have our forms developed in-house running on this.  I would like to start working on some applications of the ADF, but I do not know how to ensure that the username and passwords are the same for our existing forms applications and any new request to ADF we add.

    I would use JDeveloper 12 c.

    We have < 100 users, so this isn't a large installation, and most users are (same office).

    Thanks for ideas or advice.

    Check out this blog https://blogs.oracle.com/olaf/entry/ofm_11g_oam_sso_for_forms_and because it describes how using OAM.
