• Wallpaper, icons, taskbar, and start missing the Start button!

  When I connected my computer yesterday, my office was a black screen dark with no background, no icons, no taskbar and no start button.  Curiously, the 'My documents' folder has been opened and the files it contains coulds will open normally.  Using this file open, I was able to navigate to other files and folders through windows Explorer, but was not able to restore the office via the control panel.  Right click on the screen had no effect, and the windows of the keyboard key is also without effect.  I started the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete, click on 'File', then "Start New Task" and "Explorer.exe" has entered into the box.  It restored the office and everything you still, but the problem is repeated every time that I reboot.  I have run many virus scans, eliminate a virus called "y.exy", as well as some adware in the registry, but the removal of the malware has not fixed this problem.  Is this virus problem, or is it a problem with the Explorer?  Why the monkey (my documents) folder would be always available at startup, when I almost never access that folder otherwise?  Any help would be most apreciated - is not only annoying - I am very worried that the malware may have corrupted my computer somehow.

  I had a somewhat similar to this problem and that's what I tried.

  He temporarily stabilized my problem but I have a serious type of divorce

  problems with my beloved once Windows 7. However, in your case, it may be

  the solution.

  This is the procedure:

  (1) power on your PC or laptop

  (2) when he started, start pressing and releasing the F8 key till you get the windows

  Fix the Page (I don't remember the exact name, but it's a screen with many options).

  (3) among the options is "Last known good Configuration", click it. See if that fixes the problem.

  (4) If this does not work, then you need to try other options, namely:

  (A) the Startup Repair

  (B) the system restore

  (C) verification of memory

  (D) command prompt:

  If all the above methods fail, try this method (it worked for me temporarily). This method is an option only when you

  are able to access the above page and when you have administrator privileges. Then, when you're on the screen above, you will see these options:

  Safe mode

  Safe mode with network

  Choose the second option. If all goes well, you will be at the level of the office. On the desktop, right click the command prompt icon. If you don't have a shortcut cmd, no problem. Press start and type cmd or command. Right click on cmd and then click "Run as Administrator".

  * Now in the command console, type chkdsk/f/r (the space after the chkdsk command is optional). You may get a message that you can schedule chkdsk at the next restart, treatment is (Yes).

  *  Then, in the same type of console sfc/scannow. If all goes well, it will rectify errors of all the files on your system.

  Note: If you please ensure that your battery is 100 pc loaded before you try it. or better yet, let him charge while you do this.

  You have some different add-ons that could affect Youtube, Adblock Plus and DoNotTrackMe and 5 different downloaders works. Could you try to create exceptions for youtube.com in Adblock Plus and DoNotTrackMe to see if that makes a difference?

  Try the Options buttons for these extensions on page modules. Either:

  • CTRL + SHIFT + a
  • Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons

  In the left column, click Extensions.

  In addition, Adblock Plus is now a lot more up-to-date as the ad blocker updated for Firefox 11 +, so you can delete this one.

• I recently lost the ability to 'see' the bar "File, Edition, bookmarks, history, tools, and help" from the top of my screen, as well as the 'Start' button at the bottom of the screen.

• Satellite P300 - blinking icon to the Start button and the gel

  My high school daughter years showed me his homework in WORD was starting to show different symbols flashing all the time on the page. I suggested she reboot Satellite P300 - 01, and since then, we have not been able to go beyond the base of office.

  Believe me, it is really not easy to say what is happening with this laptop. as a first step, you can try to start Notepad using F8 and enter safe mode.

  If these will be works, start System Restore utility and attempt to restore the operating system on time earlier. Perhaps one day before all this began. I hope that you will be able to use it again as before.

• HP Pavilion X 2 11-h003sa keyboard and the start button

  I have a Pavilion X 2 11 - h003sa running Wwindows 8.1. It's less than a week and without any changes to the system (no software update or driver installs) after a restart, the Start button stopped working and when I try to dock with the keyboard, the start on the tablet button remains lit (but unfounded) and the keyboard does not work. By that, I mean the key and the trackpad do not react, are not all usb devices, and even the charger shows not only plugged into Windows. The orange charging light lights well.

  Weirdest part is the only thing that works - he always knows when the laptop is closed with the connected keyboard.

  Any suggestion or help here would be appreciated.

  Your X 2 is perhaps responsible got stuck on something, he is unable to perform; This problem can be self-correcting after a full stop and normal reboot of your tablet.   I just got the HP spectrum x 360 on the Store of MS (signature edition). The power button on the side flashes and it won't turn. I know that the battery is charged, because it is connected and there is a connedtion that the led is lit when the power cord is connedted to the laptop.   OK, I found the answer. It was a hard reset. Just hold the Start button for 20 seconds (or until it no longer flashes) then wait a bit and you can restart the laptop.

  After opening the case metal and removing the front panel, the plastic parts of the start button has been damaged and must be replaced (see image).

• No 'Use Word 2010 Starter' button after followng HP instructions to uninstall. Now what?

  I have a HP Pavillion desktop (p7-1010) running Windows Home Premium 64 bit. It came with the Microsoft Word Starter 2010 edition installed, I used without problem since I bought the (new) PC.

  A few days ago, I started having a message that WINWORDC.exe was download a required feature and don't be surprised if Word seemed not to answer. Sometimes, the message looks like there was a problem with the Internet connection then try again.

  I found and followed the instructions to http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02981221 who told me how to attempt a repair. The repaor has failed. After that, I could not run Word starter at all - the logon banner would hang and say download Microsoft Word Starter 2010 (99%). This message has never disappeared.

  I rebooted a few times to be sure.

  The HP page also gave instructions to find out how uninstall the Starter edition - with a caveat that you need to be sure, the head office was installed - and then reinstall. Given that the Manager has been installed on my PC, I uninstalled and then, when I followed the instructions on how to re - install, the button I had to click on (something like 'Use Word 2010 Starter' wasn't there.  Now, I have no way to use Word - starter or otherwise.

  I assumed HP instructions were good. Don't think.

  Any suggestions?
