  I upgraded from Capitan in Sierra and got the problem that after I pressed the power button, the screen is full white. This problem has occurred on the Sierra, never happened in Capitan.

  I went to the Apple store today, they made a few diagnostic and found no problem. Everything is good. System is fine too. In the Apple store, they showed me to press SHIFT after I press the power button and it will start up the Mac in safe mode. They told me this can sometimes help fixing the boot issue. My Mac actually works very well in the Apple store. I tried the power and turned off twice in the store, and there is no problem. I am happy and come home.

  After I go home, I turn on my Mac, it always has the same problem before you go to the Apple store, after I pressed the power button, the screen is completely blank. So I tried to boot mode safe by pressing Shift and taking until I saw the Apple logo on the screen.

  After I log in, I checked my Mac mode, this is actually Normal mode!

  If I intended to power to the top of my Mac in safe mode but it turns out to be normal.

  If I do not press SHIFT and hold it pressed down after I turn on the power, I'll have just a white screen!

  It works very well in Apple store, but not in my own House.

  Anyone know what is happening?

  What is different between your system and the store? Have you taken your own keyboard & they were they that? If you use a bluetooth keyboard try using a wired USB one instead. Is this an original Apple keyboard?

  Do you have other devices connected? If you delete them.

  Tried to change the size of the work place to get something to drag.

  Select the Essentials workspace.

  Reset the Essentials Workspace.

  Please try this sequence... Note that, throughout the whole 4h15m process, your BB should stay connected to a good charger (not the USB PC):

  1. With battery, connect your BB to the wall charger
  2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not
  3. Remove the battery
  4. Wait 15 minutes
  5. Insert the battery
  6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not

  This has been known to "revive" some BBs.

  It is also possible that your battery or BB has encountered a problem... to test, this sequence is necessary:

  1. Get a known good and already fully charge battery... use it in your BB and see what happens
  2. Get access to a BB good and the same known... use your battery in there and see what happens

  The results of this will show if your BB or your battery that has the problem.

  I got my self in a bit of a mess, trying to change my screen after I broke my tv, I had to dig my old vision pro 700 p. Now I have to change the settings for that monitor and now it says on the monitor "Display Mode not compatale! Now every time you start it toward the top of the screen just black remains with this post about that. Can't see windows, unless you put it in safe mode! I tried restoring the sysem on twice, I uninstalled the graphics driver software, and then reinstall just tried than raid drivers and it says that you can only intall these if you have an account administrator in vista, what I'm doing. against because safe mode? I have a compaq presario sr5129uk with a raid hd 6450.   I suggest to remove the video card temporarily. Connect one screen to video output to uninstall MSI overdrive.

  While you're there, you should try to connect two displays to the output video DVI - I and VGA) with cables and converters without the card installed.

  Nothing does seem strange. Try to clear your cache and cookies.

  1. Open the Tools menu, then select clear recent history...
  2. In the time range to clear: drop-down menu, select all.
  3. Click the arrow next to Details to display the list of items that can be cleared.
  4. Select Cookies and Cache.
  5. Click clear now.

  If your machine does not start, you should be able to do it with "System Configuration", also known as the msconfig...

  You can find it in the tools of control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative

  Click the Startup tab and uncheck Safe Boot...

• Whenever I turn on the computer, open only in Safe Mode, when you attempt to open in Normal mode is never opens.

  We had bad storms, blinking power and computer when outside on / off. When I rebooted, it will only restart in the safe - in the PAST, we had errors and disk errors when the update to the Service Pak3 who ended up being fixed.

• Why XP won't come back successfully saved restore point or checkpoint?

  What is your system brand and model?

  What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

  The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

  You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

  Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

  What is the issue that you are experiencing that you think that the system restore will be remedied (or you are just convenient)?  Remember that the system restore is not a time machine.

  Have you ever used the system restore to restore your system in the past?

  Describe exactly what happens when you try to perform a system restore and the error messages you see which indicates that it does not work.

  Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly.

  For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:

  Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...

  It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:

  According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.

  Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore.  Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore.  It works for some configurations.

  System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore.  This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore.  You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore.

  That can leave you with your problem of unspecified origin that you hope the system restore will fix (using a system restore is usually not equivalent to fixing the problem though).

  Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.

  Sometimes malicious will afflict your system restore to prevent you to find and remove malware.  It would much rather you trick into thinking that you need to repair or reinstall your XP when it is not necessary.

  No matter what you use for protection against malware, I do so and then only begin to solve any problems:

  Download, install, update, and make at least a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:

  Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
  SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

  It can be uninstalled later if you wish.

  The scans by operating clean, reboot, test and we can fix any other issues.

  Try a forced reboot and see if that fixes it. Hold on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

My wife tells me that I would have expected, but their 'help' - a woman with an accent that was decidedly Indian - was told it was because of Firefox. I followed his instructions and now I have the same problems with connections and speed, but my start page has disappeared. It was largely a blank page, with a search block in the Center and the little fox/world below logo. There is a bar at the top which had a pull down to access some (I guess frequently used) sites. It's still there, but the search block offers more what I had typed in previously.

  I'm hating this person 'help '. I am pining away from my old start page. What should I do?

  Remove the battery, connect your laptop adapter only and try starting your laptop running. When the laptop boot and OS is fully loaded, wait a few minutes and reinsert the battery.

  If everything is OK look carefully if the battery will be charged correctly and when battery LED is green (fully charged battery) try to turn off your laptop as usual. Turn it back on and carefully monitor what is happening exactly.

  I have a HP Pavilion dv7 purchased 2009. I got a low disk space error yesterday and done a disc cleanup, but I did not stop then.

  I ran two tests, and no error messages have been detected. All this time, I was remove unwanted files and it works well.   Hi I have a hp Pavilion 2106nr g6 I made recovery discs for it, but whenever I try to use to get my recovery partiton back she continues to ask for drivers which I thought was recorded on the recovery disks that I made for it is a total of 10 discs of the dvd to my computer recovery , but they are proving how to recreate the recovery partition where when need to be all I have to do is useless press f11 to restore my computer with out needing a winodws7 disk and have to install drivers one by one that I have to buy the hp recovery discs to get this done my computer is currently underwarrenty and I am a computer tech, but I never actually intalled a partition of recovery on a computer, but im sure im missing something or my discs are crap, please tell me what im doing wrong so I can fix it and make it back to the initial programming factory like when he came out of the box
