Starting locally a 2 cluster nodes
Hello
I just want to ask how to start a cluster locally with 2 nodes?
By default, I think he's starting only 1.
Thank you
Hello
Just start another instance of the same process using the same configuration of consistency, and they will form a cluster.

I use a single node of consistency on Solaris 10, 64-bit 1.7 JVM. It works very well. However, the problems start when I'm trying to start a 2nd node of Eclipse running on the JVM 64-bit Windows that is configured exactly the same as on Solaris. Observing these two newspapers JVMs, I can see that each node detects the other, however, the node that was started the 2nd always gets the exception below and ends. It doesn't matter on what OS I starts it's always the 2nd JVM that gets this error.
What can be wrong? What is my config? If it wasn't, why the first node set up and working properly?
Here's the exception:

The VM boot order - Cluster Node ESX Ent 2
We have a 3.5 ESX cluster node using a VIM server to manage 2. When the power died on both nodes, we noticed that the VIM Server came not upward. We thought he was placed to be the first to start on the ESX host, sure it was, but DRS can be moved at some point. Is there a setting that we can use to ensure that the VIM server is the first to pull up after a major power failure?
Thank you
Here is the answer
The start of the VM and stop (Autostart) feature is disabled for all virtual machines that reside on hosts that are in (or moved in) a VMware HA cluster

Stop and restart the cssd on all cluster nodes
Hello
Release our system to operate under linux Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5.3 (Tikanga) 2.6.18 - 128.1.1.el5
Our ASM is 11.1.0.7.0 block of POWER 2
Only ASM is clustered. Databases are not.
2 cluster nodes (Clusterware 11.1.0.7.0)
I have two questions:
1. we need to stop and start the cssd (crsctl stop crs, crsctl start crs) on both our 2 nodes of clusters.
In our test group, I stopped first the ASM and dbs all running on 2 nodes
Then I got arrested and restarded the cssd on the first node, and then on the second node. What is the good order or procedure?
I noticed after the cssd (crsctl stop crs) stopped the process "/ bin/sh /etc/init.d/init.cssd fatal" was always present. I waited for 30 seconds, but he was always there. Then I restarted the cssd (crsctl start crs) in any case. Why was the fatal process always there? It happened on both nodes. After you restart the cssd, I killed the "/ bin/sh /etc/init.d/init.cssd fatal" on both nodes. He was evidently reappear.
in the event that we want to restart both nodes of the cluster, should 2 - I start by disabling the crs before restart the cluster of 2 knots (crsctl disable crs), and then turn it back on after that 2 linux servers are back (crsctl enable crs)?
Thank you, manHello
So, for the closure of this thread, which is the appropriate procedure - for them stopping and restarting the cssd on the two cluster 2 node - among the two below:
1 - do a "crsctl stop Sir' and then 'crsct start crs' on the first node. Then do the same thing on the second node
2. make a "Sir crsctl stop" on both nodes. Then do 'crsct start crs' on both nodesI want to avoid is the two nodes start to restart because of the cssd.
You can run 'crsctl stop/start' at the same time on both nodes or so as you want (1 or 2), no problem.
If you start the clusterware on a first node and later the second node, just make sure that all services who were on the first node the second node have been properly resettled on the second node.
Kind regards

Error: Put an end to this cluster node due to unrecoverable service failure
Our group had some kind of fault which appeared only today. The origin seems to have been almost a month ago, but the symptoms have shown barely.
The node in question is a stand-alone instance running a DistributedCache service with local storage. It produces the following to standard output the Jan-22:
Coherence < error >: put an end to this cluster node due to unrecoverable service failure
It has definitely failed today with OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space.
We lack consistency - 3.5.2.jar.
Q1: Looks like this node failed on Jan - 22 and yet we have not noticed. What is the best way to monitor the status of the node?
Q2: What could be the root cause of such a mistake?
I found the following in the log:

It seems that the problem is in this case the call to clear() which will attempt to load all the entries stored in the overflow system to emit events of cache to the listeners. Probably, this requires much more memory, there are lots of Java available, so the OOM.
Our recommendation in that case is to call destroy() as this will bypass the same shot.

Cold migration of MSCS cluster node clients?
Work on the establishment of a MSCS cluster on 2 hosts. The hosts are the ESXi 5.5 build 1892794.
My shared disks are RDM compatibility mode physical that I have attached to a second SCSI controller in physical sharing mode.
My cluster validation wizard is successfully completed.
However, if I turn off the guests, everyone migrate to a different host (with FC to the RDM LUN connectivity), turn on and then run the cluster validation Wizard error e/s disk wizard reports on tests of arbitration and failover.
I learned that when I see these mistakes I can unsubscribe the VMs, detach the storage from the host, restart the host, attached storage, re - save virtual machines, and then validation is successful. However, it is a bit complicated and if I say lose a blade and need to put one of my guests node elsewhere, I want to do without the time and hassle. Is this possible?
I know vMotion is not supported with the physical bus sharing, but this ban applies to cold (power off) so migration? Or is this an indication that I screwed up my configuration?
Any thoughts would be great.
Thank you
Here's what VMware has sent:
=======================
-A virtual machine that has a ROW in a MSCS cluster connected in physical compatibility mode cannot be vMotioned.
-Even if you do a cold vMotion (stop the virtual computer, then vMotion), the ROW could be detected as vmdk and you may need to remove
She and present it back or re - enter as you mentioned.-Best practices recommend Vmware are that - before the migration, remove the ROW of the virtual machine, and then migrate the virtual machine. Once the
VM was vMotion, then you can attach the RDM to the virtual machine.Unfortunately there is no work around on this
scenario.======================================
So I guess the cold, you can migrate the MSCS cluster nodes but sometimes it does not work quite as well and so its best to remove the ROW before migration cold.
Thanks to all who have posted!

Reboot ESX with MSCS Cluster nodes
Hello
I have an ESX Cluster that must be restarded. This host cluster to a MSCS Cluster (without recommendations affinity VMWARE DRS...).
What is the best practice?
-Keep maintenance mode, as the other VMS running vmotion or,
-Set the DRS affinity as soon as possible and the node of MSCS Cluster stop when necessary (only comments stop or other actions to do before?) or,
-Any other idea?
Thank you
Should not able to vmotion for DRS wikll MSCS cluster node does not work - strting with the ESX host that has the standby node place it in Maintenance mode and manually knew node MSCS nodes - restart the host ESXi get node maintenance - once it is up and the lcuster MSCS is stable - the main failover node MSCS and shute to the bottom of the virtual machine - place this host ESX to Maintanance mode allowinf DRS to evacuate VMS running - restart the ESX host brings the VM MSCS back up and replace the workload in this node MSCS.

P2V one resource to Cluster MS and not to the cluster nodes
Hello!
We are looking to do a P2V on our file servers, which are all 2 node A / P SAN connected MS Cluster. I see articles where people work to convert the cluster nodes themselves and then have the MS Cluster running on ESX - this isn't what I want to do.
I've not seen any (covered by a research brief) mention of any attempt to make a virtual server Cluster MS. P2V conversion Looks like it is the best deal if it worked.
So I FS1 as the virtual resource with N1 and N2 as nodes. Can I run a P2V of FS1 crowd for a disk system to capture all the action, then just RDM the SAN LUNS to the VM FS1 newly created? Or am I stuck with the creation of a third node, clustered, expelling the original, closing nodes cluster services and then rename or uses DNS to point to the FULL FS1 domain name?
Thank you!
I know that sounds a good idea but any time
I tried P2V ING I ended up regretting the MSCS clusters. For the file
& Print sharing there is some direct negative side effects but for
The SQL cluster, it is very messy. You can not P2V the virtual server name
(FS1) directly, you must break the cluster and migrate the
individual nodes. But as I said it's a bad idea in any case.If these are just some cluster file server then the easiest thing to do
is just export actions (they are just a registry key), build a new
clean the VM, attach the existing data as a RDM disk and import the
registry keys. Once your happy that it work, rename the machine as
the former name of virtual node.http://ServerFault.com/questions/102271/P2V-a-MS-cluster-resource-and-not-the-cluster-nodesvmware

How to set of Cluster nodes on the same network but on different gateways
Hello
We want to set of Cluster nodes on the same network but the connection through different gateways for Unicast (WKA). We strive to add sockets for < cluster-config > tangosol-coherence - override.xml file, pls help how to set.Looks like you are using the default configuration for the system property:
8088
true The probable reason for this question, it's the localport is unaffected as 8088 for communication on the machines. Either use the property system - Dtangosol.coherence.localport = 8088 and - Dtangosol.coherence.localport.adjust = false or see the node will connect and find node assigned to each node and open the nodes; recommended to use multiple addresses node as in unicast configuration below:
well-known-address >
XXX
8088
YYY
8088
See you soon,.

Hello
You cannot give this information directly at the start of clusterware.
This option is to disable the resources, you do not want to start before running the node.
Note: You can do it from another node, to disable the startup on the node that you want to start:In general, you can do this with
Disable srvctl $The correct syntax depends on the type of management you used.
Managed political use of databases:srvctl disable the d

What is the cluster node and which is a member of the cluster?
What is the cluster node and which is a member of the cluster?
How to differentiate them?I agree with you all.
But note that a node is a server JVM. A large number of nodes can co-locate in the same machine. Entire application process or the server that is running software consistency is called a cluster node.
But Member and the cluster node is different concepts. Consistency is logically divided into clusters, services and caches. A cluster of coherence is a group of cluster nodes that share a group address, allowing you to communicate, the cluster nodes. Generally, a cluster node will join only a single cluster, but it is possible for a cluster node to join (membership) several different groups, using a different group for each cluster address.Fran

How to prevent a node of the main Service of Cluster node?
Hello
Anyone know how to configure the cluster of consistency in a way that some nodes will never receive as a main Service of cluster node?
We have some compatible storage nodes and some people with disabilities-storage and want to make sure disabled storage nodes are never chosen as main node of cluster service.
Would it be useful to give lower priority of Member identity nodes to storage-disabled people?
We use a consistent patch 3.3.2 1.
Thank you
AlexeyAlexis,
That would be my recommendation based on the reading of your condition, use extend customers...
Good luck
