Startup error message: PXE - E53: no boot file name given

I've been running Windows XP on a virtual disk on the Fusion 3.0.2 with Mac OS X (10.6.6) host for quite awhile without major problems. However, when you start the disk virtual this last time, during the boot, just after it displays the Client's MAC address and GUIDS, I get the following error message:

PXE - E53: no boot file name given

PXE - M0F: Exit Intel PXE ROM

Then the following message appears:

Windows didn't start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

I guess that he must breach since no file is listed?

Also, during startup, before the above, I get a reminder message to install VMWare Tools. I installed VMWare Tools, I'm sure, so I don't know why that message is coming.

I don't know why this happened. There was a few hard reboots due to accidents recently.

I searched these forums for this problem. Of those that I looked, more have tried to install Windows and could not see their CD-ROM drive. I don't have this problem. I can see the CD-ROM drive and even tried to reinstall Windows. This does not work he said because he can't find a hard drive.

Any help would be appreciated.

HUMAN RESOURCES

P.S. I am trying download Fusion 3.1.3 now, but because I have a bad internet connection (Overseas), it is not always successful.

Let me repeat the first thing I said in this thread...

"First things first, making a hard stop or forced to the host OS while running a Virtual Machine can destroy the virtual hard disk and should be avoided as much as possible.  Unfortunately sometimes have no way around it, and why it is imperative to have always current and complete all user data and stored backups out of the Virtual Machine itself and on the host volume where the Virtual Machine package resides.  Note: Don't rely on Time Machine for Virtual Machines as it is a known fact that Time Machine is not 100% reliable in all conditions of backup and restore of Virtual Machines and they should be excluded from Time Machine backups and must be manually backed up when the virtual machine is stopped from bee of in the guest operating system, not suspended and closed VMware Fusion. »

Now, with that said and the fact that you have retrieved your user data, then I would like to delete the problematic Virtual Machine that has been corrupted by forced or hard stops and just start fresh as well as execution of the game plan appropriate to not having to go back into the process, you had to.

    Hello

This error comes if the operating system or any boot device is not at the start of the network, where the system tries to boot from the network or Boot Rom. seems the BIOS setting is lost. To solve the problem. Enter the BIOS by pressing F10 or F1 and reach the start (on the top with the right arrow key) tab. In the Startup tab, there should be an option related to the priority of the device, select first boot as drive boot HARD settigs, and then save by pressing F10, select Yes for confirmation.

Now a PC will reboot and hope that the windows starts.

  • Startup error message: "Microsoft Mobile PC presentation adaptability Client has stopped working".

I recently tried to install SP2 to Vista, but it failed. I tried all the resolutions posted, but it is not always correct it. Later, I started my Vista (automatically restored to SP1) and it came with a mistake, "Microsoft Mobile PC presentation adaptability Client has stopped working". I tried searching on the net for similar problems, but I could not find any solution. He comes back every time you start, after that the background, shortcuts and the system tray loaded. This error started showing when I tried to install SP2, but he failed and returned to changes. I think that something could have gone wrong and that's why it shows this message.   Today I tried the system restore to the restore point JUST before I tried to install SP2, but it ALSO failed and brought me back to the State.
I'm not sure if it's related, but I'm also no longer be able to use Windows Media Center, as every time I start it I immediately receive the error message "Media Center has stopped working".

    Hi zensurferboi,

First, we will check if we get error safe mode, start the computer in Safe Mode reboot and press the F8 key for about four to five times. You'll see the Mode without failure listed in the advanced window options, select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.

Check if the error mode without failure.

If the startup error message does not appear safe mode, I recommend you to place the computer in a clean boot state, and check if the problem occurs in a clean boot state.

To put the computer in a clean boot state, follow these steps:

    Perform a clean boot

Note If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

    a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.

    b. click Start , type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

    c. under the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the Load Startup items check box.
(The box use the Boot file is not available.)

    d. on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft services check box and then click on disable all.

Note Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    e. click OK, and then click restart.

Once the computer restarts, check if you get the error of starting.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

  • Equium A100-147 with error message "PXE - E61 Media Test Failure"

    Hi all

I Equium A100 out of warranty due to the error message "PXE-61 Media Test Failure" I took it to my local computer Lamplighter, told me my Toshiba 60 GB hard drive failed (MG6034GSX) and replaced by another 120 GB model.
I tried to reload the Toshiba Recovery disk system, reload reached 75%, then the messages come in saying that it does not find a lot of operating system files.
Thinking the recovery disc was faulty, I got a replacement from Toshiba, and this reload disk gave the same problem.
I loaded XP Professional on the 120 GB HARD drive and it works OK but I'd like to load original as it came with XP MCE.

Is my problem the 120 GB HDD which should be as original 60 gb and a HDD for Toshiba genuine to accept the recovery media?

Does anyone have any ideas, I would really appreciate your help.

    See you soon

    Hello

Don t think that it is a problem of restore CD is normally impossible
I think that the problem might be related to the HARD drive.

First of all, you need to access the BIOS and should set the defaults (don't forget to save it).
Then try to format the whole HARD drive and also remove the created partitions.

Then you could try again installing the OS from the recovery CD.
    Usually, this procedure works fine

    Good luck

I left my laptop alone and down for a few hours and when I'm back on him shows an error message in the windows Boot Manager.
It says unable to start windows and a recent hardware or software change might be the cause. It asks me to insert my windows installation CD, and if I n t have the CD then to ring for help but unfortunately I really can t find a number at the present time.

    It also reads this:

Does anyone know how to deal with this, or this happened to anyone before?

  • Generation error message PDF: cannot open the file for the generation of a frame (Version 7.2) PDF book

    Hello

I'm transforming a book in PDF and I get the error message unable to open a file (... < Filename > FM) and the dialog box unavailable fonts also appears. The tricky thing is that I converted the same book in PDF just a couple of days. Now, when I tried to do it again, I'm getting the above mentioned error message. I have tried if you deselect the file > Prefrences > General > remember checkbox missing fonts too. However, it did not help to generate the PDF file. I will be grateful if someone offers a workaround solution for this issue. Thanks in advance.

Usually, deselection Remember lack of fonts work.

The missing fonts message when you or FrameMaker opens the file. The solution is to open all the files in the book, or at least those with the "missing" font, clear the message for each file. Now print the book in PDF format, while keeping open files. It usually works because you already erased the messages of missing fonts.
