  • need to re - install < root windows > \system32\ntoskrnl.exe

My computer does not load Windows. I use XP Professional Sp3 (I think). My drive is XP Professional SP2.

When I try to boot from the cd, I finally get to a screen that gives me the Windows installation press options 1) enter or 2) to repair XP using the recovery console. Press r.

No matter which option I choose, I get the message "implementation did not hard disk drives in your computer."

I pressed F8 and used the "disable auto reboot" and received the message "Windows has not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \system32\ntoskrnl.exe please reinstall a copy of the above file"

How can I do this?  Thank you, the Safi

Shouldn't you have the following option under integrated peripherals:

On Chip IDE - SATA Controller [SATA, RAID or off]

    You don't want RAID!

You should be able to select SATA and then SAVE the changes that you exit the BIOS (sometimes people forget this step!).

Not all mobos have the ability to disable sata ahci. The sata/raid controller driver is needed for windows recognize the drive sata hard. Having the pilot does not mean that you have to configure or use the raid features. RAID is simply two working as one of the hard drives. Most of the drivers manufacturer mobo that I take care of combine sata and raid drivers for the controller in a single package. Here is an example of a driver for Intel Matrix Storage Manager. It is a common driver needed for Windows to recognize a disk sata hard connected to a motherboard Intel. If the options as shown in the above post by Jose do not appear in the bios then install drivers, as I said. For this reason, Windows gives you the opportunity to press F6 to install the drivers before the implementation.

    Intel(r) 82801ER SATA RAID Controller

  • Start my computer and I get an error message: C:\Windows\System32\mmc.exe

    original title: C:\Windows\System32\mmc.exe

start my computer but I can not access all programs or windows

    Hi DesireeGarcia,

    ·         You get this message at Windows startup?

    ·         What happens when you try to access programs?

    ·         Have you checked the problem in safe mode?

Step 1: Try to start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

Step 2: If no problem occurs try to perform a clean boot. Refer to the below article mentioned on how to do it.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: make sure you put the computer to a Normal startup, once the troubleshooting completed.

Please respond to the results and more information, so we can help you better

  • I get an error message «c:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\TASKMGR.EXE-06144C13.pf is corrupt, run Dskchk»

    c:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\TASKMGR.exe-06144C13.PF corrupted

I ran Dskchk several times and I still get the error.

Is it possible to replace or repair the file.

I also run Microsoft securty Scanner with no detected viruses.

A word on what to do?

In what circumstances this error comes up?

When you run chkdsk (not dskchk), did you use the /F switch (i.e., chkdsk/f)?  Otherwise, errors are detected only and not fixed.

The files in the Prefetch folder are used to improve performance.  As a general rule, you should leave this file only because Windows XP will periodically clean older files.  See http://www.edbott.com/weblog/2005/06/one-more-time-do-not-clean-out-your-prefetch-folder/

On the other hand, although empty manually the Prefetch folder will cause a temporary decrease in performance, doing so may be justified if there is a corrupted file, as in your case.  See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/915163/en-us

Thus, if running chkdsk /F (you'll have to answer Yes and then restart) is not fix things to the top, go to C:\Windows\Prefetch and delete the offending file.  If you are unable to remove it, after return and report you receive the error message.

    Hello

I have fixed many times by the steps described in this article...

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/330184

This is not guaranteed because the problem can be reduced to hard drive failure rather than just the corruption of the boot.ini file.

If it does not solve the problem, post back and I will get back on it.

  • I get an error loading C: Windows\ifapilidarexowex.dll rundll. How can I solve this problem?

I have a laptop Gateway running Windows XP Pro. When you connect to any account, I get an error loading C: Windows \ifapilidarexowex.dll rundll. I click on the OK button and the system starts and seems to work fine. It is an annoyance and should be fixed. I don't know how.

    C: Windows\ifapilidarexowex.dll<-- this="" is="" a="" malware="">

As already mentioned by the first poster, the loading of the module above error is because the point of loading in the registry is still intact and trying to load a file that no longer exist. (A malware dll) file has been deleted either by your resident anti-virus or other scanners, but left intact registry value where the error.

What needs to be done, is either operate scanners who clean up redundant reg for example, MalwareBytes entries or other scanners or run other tools such as HijacThis and tick the corresponding section of fault start and click on the "Fix checked" button. hijackThis will then remove the redundant value and error loading stops. It is easier to use a tool, so you don't have to worry about editing the registry.
You could also disable the offending boot entry via msconfig > startup if it shows up there.

Below is an example of an error in loading a module of malware that has been deleted by the antivirus, but has not removed the corresponding registry value.
04 entry in the log from hijackthis should look like the example below.

"Error loading c:\windows\system32\ravkgmff.dll the specified module is not found."

    O4 - HKLM\... \Run: [GPLv3] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ravkgmff.dll",realset"
