Status of the printer

I can't print from my computer.  The printer status is listed as inactive, and I don't know how to change this, as I suspect, maybe that's the problem.  What can or should I do?

Hello

I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:

Method 1:
Try to run the printer Troubleshooter and check that if it helps, here is the link:

Method 2:
Try to run the below fixit and check if this may help:

You just bought a few new computers Mac - one is a Macbook Air running Yosemite and one is a trash Pro Mac also running Yosemite. I installed the printer laserjet 2100 on the Macbook Air with no problems.

BUT, when I installed the same printer on my garbage can, it will not be printed. Says: "unable to get the status of the printer.

I noticed a couplde things: on the Macbook Air, the selection of the pilot was MUCH greater than on the trash even if the OS is exactly the same thing. So then I tried to download the drivers from HP, but apparently they are old. Now on the Macbook Air, the driver software is something like v19.11. On the trash, it is of the 4.3.1.094. So maybe I've screwed something up there.

But in any case, I'll need to get the updated driver. Where is it stored? I tried to move the entire HP folder in my Macbook Air trash who lies here: car/library/printers. It does not work.

any help would be appreciated! It's an old printer bought in 2000, but she such a great printer!

I checked through other responses and tried the tips to update... but no luck!  Thank you!

Uninstall the software and drivers of the printer and remove it from the computer.

Reinstall it according to the instructions of the manufacturer of the printer.

If reinstalling printer and its drivers/software does not resolve the problem, contact the manufacturer of the printer.

In addition, on their Web site, download a manual or instructions on how to reinstall/use of the printer, if you do not have the written instructions.

    Hello theleeb,

When you go to the properties of the printer and you see that it says 192.168.1.5 that should be checked.

Just below there is a button to configure the port. What to choose.

The next window should ask what the name of the printer or the IP address is that you'll want to change this to match the IP address that we assigned to the printer. 192.168.1.250

The IP address of the printer should never change, but you can also tick the box that says print to this printer, even if IP address changes, just for a safety net.

Nobody knows of the simplest method to check if a PictBridge compatible printer is connected to the CPU before printing.  If the first request is too involved, what about simply check if a specific port has a connection to printer?  I need to make this check (printer connected and turned on) so that the system is not hang up (and rather returns an error) when a user tries to print without connection.

Have you tried to run the Wireless Setup Wizard again, and turn the printer back on the network. You will need the network name and the WEP key.

After he said successfully connected. Go devices and printers folder and do a right click and go to see what impression. Cancel all documents listed. Then right-click on the printer and remove the driver and the fax driver. After having been removed slot click on one of the other printers and look up for print server properties. Go to the driver tab and then remove the two 8500 drivers there as well.

After having been withdrawn. Go to menu start and all programs. Find the HP FOLDER and then click on the 8500 officjet software. Go to connect a new printer (maybe add a printer or the printer and the software) reinstall the wireless printer.

  • How is to send the native port of the printer command, when the printer is set as the default printer?

I installed on a Windows XP printer and set it as default printer.

I also have the manual provided by the manufacturer of printers, which defines the

commands that can be sent over the serial port, then the status of the printer

    is extracted.

Thus, for example, by sending an order consisted of 3 bytes: 34,56,78 to the printer (COM5) COM port

I can get an answer advising me on the State of the printer.

However, when you send this command to COM5, I get the following exception:

"The given port name does not start with COM/com or is not resolved to a valid serial port. Parameter name: portName. »

for which the printer vendor insisted on request microsoft support center.

The port name of the printer is properly set to the correct a (COM5).

    Any ideas?

  • LaserJet Pro M200 color: the printer does not print

Yesterday, the printer was working fine, but today I can not print from any of the computers on the network. Operating systems is Windows 7 and Windows 10.

I can print a status of the printer itself, but nothing a computer.

I can ping the printer to all computers successfully.

The printer is connected to the network via a WiFi connection and checking the connection of the printer displays every thing to be in order. But when trying to scan a document and save it to a network drive the printer cannot establish a connection.

Does anyone know an answer to this problem?

    Best regards.

    Ben

    Hi diameter,.

Thanks for responding to my problem.

After trying everything I could think of, out of desperation I did a reset on my modem, which is also the hub WiFi. The printer then works as usual. What is strange, is that I could always use the modem to go on the internet, it was just the WiFi which needed a kick in the ass.

  • How can I get my USB to the printer wirelessly to a network without a computer?

If you have a USB port to the wireless printer and no computer to use software to do this and do not want to use the WPS option (or it is not available), then the following method can help.

That doesn't get a key USB Wi - Fi, as the printer Deskjet 3512, on the wireless network when there is no computer available.  However, this can work from a computer as well if you prefer not to install the software.

For these steps, I'll use an iPad.

    1. the printer will broadcast a wireless network of its own.  This has usually HP Setup and model of the printer in the name of the network.  Connect a wireless device to the network.

    2. Once connected, open the browser.  In my case, it's Safari.

    3. Enter the 192.168.223.1 address in the address and press go to access the status of the printer page.

    4. once there, there will be several tabs at the top.  Select network.

    5. Select the wireless configuration wizard.

6 Select next at the bottom.

    7. it looks for available networks.  Select your network from the list and click Next.  The network should be highlighted, select it again if it's not.

    8. you will be asked the password.  Enter the password and click Next at the bottom.

    9. the printer should now be connected to the network.  It may take a few minutes to share.  Reconnect the computer or mobile device to your regular network and it should be good to go.

I know that there are some users who have only a Tablet and a USB port to the printer wireless with no other way to get it on a network.

I hope this information is useful to someone.
