• Still struggling with windows 8.1 implemented - slow

  I have an all-in-one Aspire Z3-605 with a ghz processor Intel Core i5-3337u Intel1.80.  I'm not a gamer, use the computer for crummy with genealogy and general use.  Had to reset the computer of 8.0 to 8.1 after the problems with the updates of the system in August 2014.  The computer worked FINE with 8.0 in terms of speed, so I know it's a problem with the installation of 8.1. I've only had to be upgraded because of problems with the upgrade updates the 8.1 safety Aug - Sep 2014 MS slowed the system analysis of a snail. I run avast1 and ASC pro to maintain the system and run Belarc Advisor regularly to ensure there are no problems.  I use Firefox and not IE as my main browser, BUT I still use FF.  IE is installed and updated for sites that need to access

  All of my updates of system are in place, I checked the drivers and updates those requiring an update [I think].  I don't know if it's an old software instalation driver [s] but I went on: us.acer.com.ac/en/US/content/drivers and copied off lists of pilots with the dates [which I assume are the latest updates].  So, now I check each one to make sure it's the latest driver?

  One of my other thoughts on speed is all the stuff that could start up when starts it.  I uninstalled McAfee, Norton, etc comes with Acer and all games.  BelArc analysis gives me approximate deadlines for the use of different programs so I guess I can turn off those little-used and which would give a little more speed.  I looked at all the processes running, but I couldn't identify many specific programs so am a bit wary of doing much with it.

  I would be recognizing any suggestion - of course I don't have any idea what to do.  I've been playing with this for over 5 weeks now and am about to lose.  I have a backup off site [Mozy] more external hard drive so I don't lose files but I can't do anything, try to make of genealogy online is a joke, and it's lightning fast with 8.0 [I have a DSL line that is reliable and fast enough for the rural region where we live].

• Still struggling with the Image and paper formats

  I use LR 5 on a Mac, and printing to a Canon Pro-100.  I have grown my image to 8 1/2 x 11.  In Page layout, I've selected 8 1/2 x 11 as my paper size and uses Board single image/contact for the page layout.  The smaller margins he will allow me are L, top, bottom =.25 and right =. 56.  The maximum size of the cells is 8,00 x 10.19.  I would like to fill the whole 8 1/2 x 11 paper with the image moins.25 inch border all around.  What I am doing wrong?

  My thanks to all who responded.  Very much appreciated.  I thought I had covered all the bases, but the problem is in the part of the Page Setup from LR.  Somehow the border right side had been incorrectly set.  I changed it a.25 and all is well.

  Hi all

  Like most of you, I am an Apple enthusiast. I work as a videographer frelance. I use Apple products every day. I'm about to buy the new iPhone, but there are some issues that concern me. I've seen a few videos with the new iPhone 7 more, and it seems that video stabilization, its all just too bad. When the person walks, the camera is still struggling to stabilize images, and it gives a very poor video quality/eye. It seems that the video is allways glitching.

  I can't be the only one to notice this problem. Help, please! Do you know if its possible to disable? Which will probably solve this glitch.

  I have the same question. Today, I shot a lot of video footage and when I walk around with the camera I get a strobe effect. The video is useless. Does anyone else have this problem? It is with my iPhone 7.

• My unread Mails button is dead.

  When I was running an older version (37.8.1 I think) my no read mail button suddenly stopped working. I clicked and nothing happens even though I have unread emails in my Inbox. I've just updated to version 38.0.1 (latest version). The problem remains. Is this a known bug and is there a solution?

  Sorry to be a while back! It tried unsuccessfully so this AM, gritted my teeth and deleted the FF programs folder and downloaded and installed FF 10.01. He was still struggling with the same problem. Went in the appdata folder and two files sessionstore.js there. Delete both, restarted the browser and no verification of the compatibility of the modules was done at first upward and the additional tab for welcome to FF was the opening is no longer all seems to work as it should and I did not lose any of my settings...   When I click on a link to play a standard WMV video in Firefox 5, in the movie player window it is said 'Click here to download the'.

  When I click on 'Click here to download the plugin' in Firefox 5, I get a panel of Firefox that says I need to Windows Media Player 11, but I already Windows Media Player 12 and the browser Firefox WMP plugin installed on this computer... it worked fine in Firefox 3.6.

  If I then click to install the Windows Media Player 11 plugin, it goes to another Firefox sign that says: ' no plug-ins have been installed, Windows Media Player 11 - no available '. Then, there is a "manual install" button, and when I click, it takes me to a third party plugin site called 'InteroperabilityBridges.com' which has a plugin Firefox WMP dated April 2007 available.

  When I check my Panel "programs and features" in Windows 7 on my control panel, I can see that I have already installed something called, "Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin" installed and it is dated 10/24/2010 and it is version 1.0.0.8

  Despite having already the required plugin installed and showing in my control panel, programs and features, this WMP plugin does not appear on my plugins Firefox 5 Panel. So I tried to re - install with the installer of origin and available to the above URL Setup (they seem to be the same, except my installer of origin has a date of 2010).

  I also tried the 'fix' option in the setup of the plugin... it still does not appear in Firefox 5, nor this browser will play a WMV file in the integrated test related troubleshooting page plugin Mozilla WMP player, or other pages that embedded the WMV players.

  So the question is, why is Firefox 5 demanding I install a Windows Media Player plug-in older, version 1.0.0.8 of 2007 when I have already installed...? and why it won't work?

  What is the solution? The upgrade again for the 3rd time in the last 2 months, this is not an option... I'm tired of going through all the difficult steps of the upgrade and find what has changed and rejected another upgrade of the browser Mozilla and re - install plugins, extensions, modules and customizations and repair everything that does not work, as I always do now with Firefox 5.

• IPad 2 Air battery drained and does not load after update 9.3

  Air iPad 2 (Wifi + cell) battery has completely evacuated and no charge since after update 9.3. Update my device was 100% of the fees. Subsequently, when the update was finished, the Unit continued to lose the load during use (I got the full enjoyment on the charge) and does not charge even on not trying to load intermittently and for long periods. Once the load is complete evacuated after considerable use, I was unable to see the unit after 2-3% fees.

  I have restored and updated the device via iTunes, but the problem persists, and I see a battery on the scree with 3 red lines. When I take off the charge cable, I get a black screen with battery 3 red lines and a chart of the charging cable.

  I had once the apple logo and the ipad started and I had the interface momentarily, but he lost.

  Well, I had the camera to load up to 61% where it is blocked again.

  Here's what I did that I had not done earlier out of the many resolutions that I tried from that provided in the forums and on the internet-

  I put the IPad for a couple of hours in his keyboard case and then all located in a thin cloth and put it on charge, ostensibly to warm a little battery. The warm-up was suggested in another thread, where a person even went to the extreme of using a fan hair dryer to warm the device. After a few hours, he did to load up to 60%, I got it out to check if it worked.

  Maybe I shouldn't have checked and waited a little longer, because the IPad is now stuck at 59 to 61% for the last 14 hours for free. I still struggle to go beyond this percentage, but at least I can use the device. Is there something I can do now to improve the percentage of charge? I tried the resets and even restored and updated the iOS through iTunes.

  Basically my father gave me this old laptop I have had to reinstall a new operating system on because the former was full of old programs that work and the things that make it slow and unusable.

  I installed a copy of XP and the laptop starts fine.
  However there is no driver installed for the wifi, lan, etc etc.
  I found some drivers of this work which led to the video card, but still struggling to find the ethernet drivers and other.

  Is their any way I can get these drivers to download or perhaps of disc?

  Any help would be appreciated even a link to where I can get a cd or ask toshiba selfs.

  Construction
  
  T450s build quality isn't old ThinkPad level, with a clear devaluation, but is still very good. Problems include the difficulty of dislodging the lower lid (after removing the 8 screws) for joining plastic textured inside and fingerprinting, revealing instead of the old finish rubber. But it is quite solid, no bending and quite compact.

  Connectivity
  
  Port is good enough on both sides with nothing on the back. All USB ports are 3.0 with excellent performance. But Mini DisplayPort means you need to maybe buy and carry a dongle of easy-to-lose. Performance of the Wi - Fi connection (802.11ac Intel 2 x 2) seems better than previous cards Intel generation 802.11n, even those with 3 x 3. Bluetooth connections are fast. The speakers are decent, but nothing to write home about. Quality of the webcam is improved over previous generations, but still struggles in low light. Fingerprint reader is a great improvement.   Performance
  
  The good news is that the i7 T450s finally turns out to be a bit faster than the i7 Sandy Bridge (T420s) on the tasks of processor such as video encoding, despite a processor intensive ultra low voltage a bit more slowly. The machine is cold and silent most of the time, with only a gentle breath of air under high load.

  Memory

  4 GB of memory is soldered to the main Board and there is only a single SO-DIMM location. While you can add a 8 GB SO - DIMM for 12 GB total, that would mean that half of the memory could run in single channel mode, which can have a very important impact on the performance (as much as 20-30%), especially since the graphics adapter integrated uses part of the main memory (memory available). So if you care about performance, you need to stick with 8 GB, which can be marginal for things like video editing HD Ultra. (The impact on the performance, of course, also applies to machines with only the Basic 4 GB of memory. The promised NVIDIA 940 M graphics option is not yet available.)

  Screen
  
  The IPS 1920 x 1080 screen can take some getting used to, but is really much better than TN screens and is close enough to a calibration right out of the box. (Remember to burn on the screen for at least 24 hours before making any justice.)

  Keyboard
  
  The keyboard of the island is pretty good for what it is, but the provision still suffers compared to the classic ThinkPad keyboard. Homepage layout end delete and PrtSc are poor and other keys like Pause/break are missing entirely, now only available as Fn combinations (such as Fn + B for Break) that are not marked on the keys. Also annoying is the lack of status lights of the hardware (your hard drive, Wi - Fi, Bluetooth, load connection). You can count on the Windows taskbar for wireless and in charge, but you will need to install something like DiskLED (which works well) to the disk activity. Keyboard backlight is usable (despite some annoying light crosstalk between the top row), but not as good as the classic ThinkLight.

  Power

  With just the standard 2nd battery, not long battery life with big bulge on the bottom, the T450s still usable on and off by a day without running out of battery power. The power adapter provided is quite small, but only 45W, cannot quickly fresh when the system is under load. If you care about fast charging, you should get the Slim 65W adapter.

  Summary

  A return for most welcome to your ThinkPad, with a very good IPS screen and finally enough power processor ultra low voltage measure to the Sandy Bridge.

• Satallite A20 - two questions

  Hello, I have a model of Satellite A20 PSA20C-OCO4D, and now I get two problems that I hope someone here can help with. Here are the problems I have...

  (1) at the start, I get several beeps that appear to come from the inside of the case, rather than by the speakers. I understand these beeps can be used in the follow-up of the problem, and I tried my best to count, still struggling and can't find any software or anything that can help here either. After the beeps the laptop will boot XP and run applications when I choose them (this is where number of problem two steps).

  2) once on the XP desktop frequently is impossible for me to get the cursor click on the application that I want to run. It's like the cursor wants to choose another application and flashes between the application icons. I can get around this by pressing ESC and then the start it will work again (this time allow me to select the application required without paste or flashing between several others).

  I was advised that it might be a memory problem, so trying to eliminate I removed the two modules and rearranged them, also re-installed one at a time between the boots to see if that helps. The two here were without result, so I am not sure that it is a memory problem. I gave the machine two complete re-plants using the recovery software and tried to update the drivers, I guess that could be the cause as the touchpad, etc. Now I'm fearing the worst being a failure premature mainboard WARNING :/

  Any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated!

  Indeed, the beep that appears at the beginning may refer to the problem on the motherboard.
  Announced as far as I know this is a POSTAL code (code free test under tension) and these beeps would appear if an error on the mobo has been detected.

  What to say; It of really difficult to say what might affect the functionality of touchpad
  But if the new OS installation didn't help, then a hardware problem might be possible.
