  Personally, I have not heard of specific issues with this WD HARD drive. I Googled it and found some non-specific stuff.

  However, to answer your question: in my view, there is no problem with the 1 TB external harddrive to adapt the SSD from below 500 GB. Therefore larger than GB 463, less than 500 GB, 1 TB, it should fit without problems. There is no problem for cloning SSD and HARD drive imaging (the only problem is that it might be a bit slower, but no problem to do so).

  The only option I know who are available are on a hard drive, media locations and the network of the DVD (NAS), not on a USB flash disk.

  

• Windows 7 backup system Image - 0x8078012D error Code - fails to complete system image backup?

  I seem to have a problem with the Windows backup when a scheduled backup image on a hard drive external fails to finish, although she worked successfully before many times.  Backup Windows reports an error code of 0x8078012D.

  After many tests on the solutions listed here, I found a way to fix my problem. I had continually failure is to say the system could not create a snapshot or that my drive has been a failure. It seems, with Windows 7, you must configure options that are not obvious to the users.

  1. go to control panel/system/System Protection and select your C: drive.

  2. Select "set up" and make sure "Restore system settings and previous versions of files" is on.

  3. the Max use value at least 2%

  4. apply

  5. Select your key USB you will use for backup and configure it again to the protection and the whole file size of at least 18%.

  6. apply

  7. in the control panel go to administrative tools, open Services.

  8 scroll down until Windows backup and make sure it is set to manual and not started.

  9. highlight Volume Shadow and make sure it is also set to manual and not started.

  10 10 aller go to control panel, select backup and restore.

  11. click on "Change settings", and then select the drive you will support up to.

  12 run backup let the system do its thing and everything should work.

• Windows7 System Image backup

  I just want to know what type of device, I should use to make a system image backup.  My computer is for home use only (I am retired and use it for email, research and banking).    I have a 146 GB hd with 103 GB free.  Know me I use 43 GB of space for everything, right?   I made the mistake to go to Best Buy, I was told to get an external hard drive 500 GB.  I would use a flashdrive if possible and I thought a 128 GB should do OR the old way of burning on DVD mode, I need to know what I have to reformat to NTFS DVD (each first) before you can begin the backup? and who is the best to get.  Best Buy was not helpful at all, no one on the floor could answer my questions, stood in line for 45 minutes and that's when I said to buy a 500 GB HD.

  Thank you for taking the time and address my concerns.  However, I have just one more question.  Why would I need an external hard drive 500 GB, the one I have is 146 GB with 103 GB free. I would only use a lot of space in what remains of my life (72).   Just use my PC at home to society and personal things.

  A 500 GB drive comes in handy for several reasons:

  • You can store several images on it, for example before leaving for the upgrade of Windows 10 (if that's what you have in mind) and after the upgrade. You would hold the image of Windows 7 a few months in case you want to go back. Note that Windows (as opposed to third-party tools), it is difficult for you to store two different images and separating them.
  • You must use the disk for your regular data backups. If you are not in the habit of saving your data regularly so it's a great time!

  Also note that an image not tested backup is pretty useless, as it is an untested backup.

• System Image backup. Recorded TV missing after restoration

  I have the following system; Win 7 Pro 64-bit SP1; NVIDIA GTX-260; 2 tuner cards Hauppauge WinTV HVR-2250; CPU Intel Q9550 with 4 GB of memory. The anti-virus software is Microsoft Security Essentials. It is a very clear system of vanilla for the MediaCenter. No other application.

  I had a HD failure and installed a new HD, even make and size than that of old. I booted from my Windows system repair disc and ran the restore of the System Image. After it has been completed, I started the system of the HD and everything seemed OK. All the photos, music and videos stored under my username were there.

  However the recorded TV stored under the Public user ID was absent. Anyone have any ideas? The system image backup has no setting to include or exclude files or directories.

• Switch 10 - Please wait while we install an update of the system

  Recently, I brought a switch 10. Whenever I turn on the camera, I see the Acer Logo and he said: "Please wait while we install an update of the system.

  Sorry for the previous post - I just noticed, that last Wednesday, you published an update of the BIOS (1,16).

  Guys, I'm happy to admit that this update has fixed the problem for me. Although I had hurt a bit (I had to restart Windows in order to restart the upgrade process) and after you apply the fix on the first start, that I was also able to see the spam message, at the next start-up went well.

  Windows Setup status

  Whenever I start my computer, I get a series of pop-up boxes that talk about "Please wait while windows configures the State" and then the one that says "the component that you are trying to use is on a CD Rom, please insert".  I have no idea what it is, and I have no disc to put on this line?  If I hit the buttons cancel these boxes enough times to go, but it's annoying and there is notihing badly with the operation of the computer, after I get rid of the boxes.  No idea how to stop this from happening again?  I did all the steps that have been mentioned earlier and no results.  I even did a system recovery.  I don't know what to delete.  Please help thanks

  Check to see if the problem exists in Safe Mode, if the computer works as expected in mode without failure, then we can solve the problem in the clean boot state. There is an application which is set to start when you start the computer and which launches the installer of Windows.

• Cannot restore the system image backup in Windows 7

  Hello

  Im trying to use the recovery process of Win7 system standard Image for the first time and its does not work.  I'm recovering the image on my hard C primary, internal to the system drive.  I backed up correctly a Win7 system on an external hard drive image.  To restore I connect in the Control Panel on my system (still ongoing) and select the advanced option to retrieve my disc image.  The process stops then the pc and it restarts automatically.  Then he finished "Windows loading files...". "Then I select my keyboard for data entry, click ok.   Then the process correctly detects and automatically selects my last image of backup on the external drive system.    The next step begins the problem.

  The option 'delete existing partitions to reformat the drive... '. "is grayed out and inaccessible.  The only other option is: "install the drivers for the drives, you are restoing to... could solve the problem."  Also, "insert media for the device and click OK to install the drivers." I have a new HP Pavilion Desktop with Wn7-64 bit and HP has its own recovery on C partition and there is also another unknown partition (to me) it.  I was provided the only brackets installtion / have the HP recovery disk and the recovery of Win7 boot floppies that I burned after buying oringal.  Therefore, I select the button Install Drivers with no media of installtion and I see the Windows/System32/drivers folder. I can only select one driver at a time, I tried what I thought were the pilots of C - IE disk.sys, partmgr.sys, snapman.sys and tdrpm.sys and all of them return the error msg "specific location contains no information about your hardware."  I also tried to use the two recovery discs that I burned, but they resulted in a similarly generic error message.

  Drive C is very well so I am at a huge loss as to what the standard restore process of the operationg system image is looking for and why missing drivers for drive C?  Can someone please explain what this process needs so I can restore the system image?

  FYI... I was able to recover my Win7 System Image by using the external backup and the ERD of Win7.  I am now more confident that backups of the system can be invoked in the event of a disaster.

  The process was/is still a bit confusing because it faced the same problems with the possibility of "remove existing divides to reformat the drive" grayed out and inaccessible.  And the other option: "install the drivers for the drives, you are restoing to... could solve the problem" is still a mystery to me.  However, using the repair disk, I was able to bypass the need to use one of these two options, click Next, and start and finish the process of recovering successfully.

  I hope that someone will be examine and solve problems with recovery only the Panel since it is the recommended approach (to a working system).  I'm a happy computeree once more.  Thanks for the suggestion.

  I have a 2 years old HP pavilion g series notebook.  I did a backup system image on dvd + r discs. It was almost over, when the drive #99, I got this message "the backup failed. The system cannot find the specified path (0 x 80070003)
  My computer is no longer under warranty and I'm $ 60 in the disks if they can't be used.  I need to know there is a way to save what I saved and restart the backup of the Image where it left off?

  I understand that you did an image backup, and while he was almost done you received the error (0 x 80070003).  Here is a link to a response from Microsoft to help you. Windows backup error 0 x 80070003 (One answer per Vinod N)

  I'm not sure if you would be able to leave and get back on disc 99, because once you have repaired, it will be changed from when you first ran the backup.  The disc that you used only were not read, accessible writing, so you wouldn't be able to reuse them.  You can see that an external hard drive would be a more economical way to make your backups. The data must be in one place and easier to store.  If you decide to use a USB key, so do not more then the 32 GB and won't Windows 8 on it.

  You can probably buy an external drive for on the cost of the replacement of disks.  Here is a link to the HP Shopping external storage , but you can buy one at several places, Office Depot, Staples, Wal-Mart and computer shops are few.  I hope this helps.

  When executing "Backup of System Image" Windows 8.1, I get the error message attached: -.

  I ran SIB once successfully since the upgrade to 8.1, but the second time I'm trying to backup, I get the error message.  I tried to format my disk backup & the problem still persists.  This could be yet another glich with the operating system.
