  I tried to update the firmware on my STR-DA2800ES, but after that the file download is complete, the installation was interrupted when my daughter accidentally pressed the power button on the receiver. It turns on, but feel like there is something a little out... Since the update of the firmware, the receiver (less than a month), does not display the speakers (I have 6.1 speakers to the receiver) on the front display panel and the front of that blue light lights with DTS audio even if the façade says it receives this type of signal. I tried to reset the receiver back to factory settings, but I am unable to run the firmware install again, because the receiver says its already installed.   Disconnect all speakers and re-establish connections. Also, try to change the different surround modes in the receiver. Firmware update cannot be reinstalled in it.

• STR-DA2800ES home screen will not display on the VPL-HW40ES

  I'm not able to get home' of the screen to show through my projector VPL-HW40ES-STR-DA2800ES.

  I have:

  1. Confirmed that the entrance of projector is selected the right input (HDMI 1).  Content doesn't circulate in the receiver and displayed on the screen.
  2. You press "AMP" on the controller and I see the "AMP" and "rm put in place" to turn on when I press the 'Home' button
  3. Button of remote control and 'Home' on the remote control work.   By pressing the 'Home' key turns on the receiver.
  4. Tried to hold the "Home" button for 2-3 minutes.

  I am looking for a solution that would not require me to do a factory reset.  I got a home theater company do the installation and do not want to have them come and reconfigure.

• STR-DA2800ES locked HOME screen

  I'm unable to navigate inside the HOME screen.  I can get in and out of the HOUSE by pressing HOME on the remote control, but I can't access to other functions such as watching, listening, settings, etc..  I rebooted and repowered the receiver more than several times and the problem presists.

  This doesn't seem to be linked to any locking settings or parental controls which can be active. Unfortunately, I suggest to initialize the settings from the receiver to factory settings to see if that makes a difference.

  Use the buttons on the Panel of the receiver to do the following:

  1. switch off the receiver with the power button.

  2. while now the signal SOUND MODE 2CH/A.Direct, press the power button to turn on the receiver.

  3 Rlease MODE signal SOUND and 2CHA/A.Direct after a few seconds and "Clearing" should appear and then replace "Cleared."

• STR DN1040 HDMI HDCP issues

  I have a recurring issue with my new receiver STR-DN1040. It works fine for a while and then it stops negotiating devices on my TV HDCP. For example, my PS3 will display a black screen when I turn it on. My TiVo Series 3 displays a screen saying that there is a negotiating HDCP error trying to watch cable channels. The only solution I found is to unplug the receiver from the wall and plug it in again - then it immediately starts working again.

  It produces at least a couple of times a week, and it's extremely frustrating. Looking at a few discussions on here and other websites this is not an uncommon problem.

  I tried tweaking about all the settings that I can think of nothing doesn't. One who seems to have made the most difference is turning off the fast display of the HDMI, but it might just be a coincidence.

  Here's what I connected through my receiver (all with HDMI):

  Apple TV

  Xbox 360

  Wii U

  PlayStation 3

  TiVo Series 3

  Sony BDP-S360 Blu Ray

  My TV is a Sony KDL-46EX710.

  My HDMI outputs receiver / A + B the TV (I have a set of HDMI input upwards for games and one for the TV-movie).

  As you can tell, I love my Sony AV products. I wish just that this receiver has worked reliably for me.

  Is this a known problem and it's something that will be fixed in a future update? I really want to love this receiver (and most of the time I do - when it works!), but every time I turn on the TV and get a HDCP error, I want to throw it out the window.

  Ideas or ideas here would be appreciated.

• HDX 16: Blu - ray is stopped playing HDCP compatible TV as monitor extended

  Have a new TV Vizio, which is certainly HDCP, I use my HP HDX 16 as a blu - ray player for.  I played a Blu - ray disc very well two weeks ago.  In the meantime, I detached from the laptop and connected to a compatible monitor non HDCP for some basic computer in my office.  I also installed software for a Lenovo N5901 wireless Mini-keyboard.  Last night, I put in place 16 HDX to the Vizio, and now it won't play blu - ray.  It behaves exactly like when I learned that my desktop monitor is not HDCP... the screen on the Vizio is a fast blink, while it behaves as if the video cable has been disconnected.

  • Blu - ray will not play via Windows Media Center on the Vizio software or HP Media Smart
  • Can I have the HDX 16 display put in place a monitor scope, and play Blu - ray Windows Media Center HP Media Smart and on this screen.
  • I can drag the video playback window and have the majority on this subject on the screen of HDX 16; the part on the HDX 16 film, the part of the window on the Vizio is black
  • As soon as I put 50% or more of the window on the Vizio, the Vizio turns off as if the video stream has been cut
  • I tried several HDMI cables, without success
  • I tried several Blu - ray discs, without success
  • Regular DVD plays fine on the Vizio
  • Called Netflix to see if their records are coded;  They said their streaming movies meet HDCP compliance.  We have tested and they stream on the Vizio. (I don't buy it demand... Netflix streams fine on my monitor non HDCP in my office)
  • Netflix said there could be a Blu - ray firmware update that may be the cause.

  This assumes that you are running Windows 7.

  Download the latest installer for MediaSmart DVD on the link below and save it to your desktop.

  FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp50501-51000/sp50935.exe

  Then go to windows control panel, open programs and features and uninstall HP MediaSmart DVD.

  If you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip.  Right click on the installation program you download, select Extract 7 - Zip, select the files, and then click Ok.  Open the newly extracted folder, open src and scroll down until you see the application setup ( 6th in the background with a size of 310 KB ).  This Application Configuration right click and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once the installation is complete, restart the computer and see if you can now read your Blu - ray discs.

• STR-DA5700ES no video/audio HDMI inputs no

  STR-DA5700ES has no audio/no video inputs HDMI (except PS3 hooked up through GAME that works). It was fine yesterday (for the last 2 years). Now, suddenly, there's nothing. I did a power reset (by holding the button until it has adjusted) and exchanged the HDMI cables. Any suggestions?

  Turns out have been a matter of HDCP, possibly caused by cables, which have now been replaced with new cables by their manufacturer as directed by their guarantee. The problem can only be solved by completely reset the 5700ES (memory clear). Please consult the manual of Sony if you're having a similar problem.

  Apparently, you're trying to use AirPlay to display content that is protected in a way that not only allows the copy.

• ATV4 - HDCP error message

  ATV4 began to display an error message about 50% of the time, when I go to ATV4 of ATV3... 'Content require HDCP for playback. Either your HDMI cable is connected correctly, or your HDMI cable does not support HDCP. Please reconnect the HDMI cable from your Apple TV to your HDTV, and try again."

  
  

  When you OK the message, the ATV4 takes back you to the start menu for content that is played, so that when I switch back to ATV3 - content is paused exactly where I left it.

  HDMI cables are the same, and ATV4 has been working for the last 3 weeks - why now? -recent update of the cause maybe?

  HDCP is a copy protection Protocol.
  This Protocol prevents copying of high-definition movies.
  If the system does not support HDCP, you will not be able to send data to the device (TV, LCD) through other ports such as DisplayPort or DVI or HDMI.

  Microsoft Vista and Windows 7 use HDCP screens and computer graphics cards.
  But if you want to watch movies in high definition on an external TV, you must ensure that both HDMI ports on TV and laptop support HDCP.

  But it seems that Sat A660-10W does not support HDMI port and so you will not be able to watch as the HDCP protected HD movies on external monitors.
