  Also, what version of Mac OS X turns?  You can select about this Mac from the Apple menu to get information about your system.

  You do not need an Apple Airport access point.  But your router's wireless settings a difference.  For example, the last iMac G5 model (from 2005) has only 802.11b and g wireless, not of 802.11n (unless you use a third-party add-on).  Make sure your wireless router is not set to 802.11n only.

  Like test, place the iMac that is close enough to your router so that you can connect using an Ethernet cable.  Do you have an Internet connection?  If so, select software update from the Apple menu to confirm that you are running the latest version of the system possible for your version of Mac OS X.  If there is an update, try the connection Wireless again after the update.

  Last night, I started a migration of my old iMac that I bought yesterday after the failure of the screen on the old to the new. I had bought two cables Thunderbolt with him but had lost to them so I their connected via firewire in the former via a Thunderbolt to the new adapter.   If Cancel you the migration, then when you start you will get a second account migrated under a new name. If you have enough space on the disk and then once the migration is complete you can remove the incomplete user account. MY ends not an incomplete migration. It will simply ask provide you a new username for the account to be migrated.

• Help! Problem of freeze/reboot IMac, Apple has been without help

  Hi all. I have a persistant problem with my iMac (chart below). Presented it Apple Store twice now, they have not solved the problem. Basically: my computer, with no visible trend, will freeze while I use it and trigger a reboot. Sometimes once a day, sometimes several times a day. Various open applications, does not make a difference. Apple Store/Genius Bar people have told me they think it's a software problem, but the system log confuses me and makes me doubt this conclusion: I was meticulously noting the time of freeze, at +/-5 seconds, and there is NOTHING in the paper system at this time. No kernel panic, no newspaper of the accident, no notice of ANY running process. I'll post the last example below I list of specifications. Anyone thought EVERYTHING might happen? I am running:

  If it's not her, I do a clean install of Mac OS X and test this. If it still restarts then it is not a software problem.

  It seems I have a problem with the RAM not enough, but I find it a bit ridiculous as 8 GB in a device from end of 2015 (for an expensive computer no less) isn't enough to run at least * somewhat * smoothly.   This seems to have solved some problems, but as you can see, I run not really much at the moment other than Safari, which makes me fear. Has anyone else had problems of this kind? Is there a way to reduce the amount of memory used by El Capitan, or could I possibly downgrade to something like Yosemite? Or do I just have a defective machine?

  Memory is not the problem, OS X is not the problem, nor the computer the problem; It's the shit you have loaded on the computer. Here's a suggestion.

  Install Yosemite or El Capitan, from scratch

  Restart the computer. Immediately after that the chime hold down the command and R until the Apple logo appears. When the Utility Menu appears:

  This should install a new copy of Mac OS X on the computer. Now, install any third-party software and give the computer a few hours to complete Spotlight indexing during which the computer will run slowly. Then it check to see if it works OK.   I can scan is no longer docyuments from the top of the charger page - scan starts but just hangs and then I can not re - activate the scan function until I have to force it to quit.

• Cannot install photoshop cs6 on iMac nine - "Media db error: 18»

  In my company we recently hired a web designer - given its insistence on the use of the Adobe software, we decided to try Photoshop.

  We downloaded a trial version and tried to install on the new iMac (no previous install of adobe stuff) we just bought for the new desigher, but... it is same not installation!

  The installation process stops at 2% and an error screen appears which gives generic instructions ("restart your computer and try again") and pointing to a log file where you can read "error db Media: 18»

  Of course we tried restarting the computer, cleaning of ~ / library, re - download the installer... not good - we then downloaded and run a utility to clean adobe... still no good.

  Some people on the report from the internet that they have the same problem... we found several questions about the case, but no response (not to mention that 'your computer' and other generic stuff that we tried and does not work).

  We then called Adobe support (Italian) and they told us that they do not supported for trial versions, as we should invisible view buy (expensive!) software, that we cannot even install! .

• Problem reinstalling OS on Imac 10.6.8

  Hi, I just got re [placed my hard drive failure. Before that, I have a clean copy of 10.6.8 and all data on an external drive that was taken using Time Machine. I deleted the new hard drive is visible and functional on my iMac. Basically, I couldn't reload 10.6.8 from the external drive. • Problem with the new iMac (with Yosemite): licensing has stopped working error 150:30

  I just bought a new iMac and used the Migration Assistant to transfer all my programs from my old computer.

  When I try to run my copy of InDesign CS4, I get the error message:

  License for this product has stopped working

  Error 150:30

  Because the new iMacs don't have disk drives, I can't reinstall using my original DVD discs.

  Adobe online support team have said that they are unable to help.

  The approval of repair does not work in Yosemite

  Does anyone have any suggestions?

  And set the permissions on the appropriate files. The rest is between you and your Mac - what about Adobe are, that CS4 is not officially compatible with Yoesemite.

  my iMac crashed a few weeks ago while I was upgrading from CS3 to CS5.5. Bleed the disc and all software on mac. • ITunes problem previous library playing on the new iMac 4K

  I just bought an iMac nine 4K El Capitan 10.11.1 running with iTunes 12.3.2.35. I also bought an iPad opportunity Air 2 out of glideslope. IPad is strictly for the use of music that I am a musician. Since I am unable to "migrate", I copied my old iTunes library on a hard drive, external, built of new playlists on the new iMac and then downloaded on the new iPad. (The HD was only a way to transfer the music.)

  It's just a few of the songs on the iPad part - but they all play in iTunes on the iMac. As you can imagine it's very frustrating because I spent two great to finally have a platform of music to date.

  Does anyone out there have a solution to this problem. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Especially of Kenichi Watanabe, who has been most helpful.

  + Chris Hong Here is a very ugly solution - I realized that this issue only happens when my cursor for eraser size is too large. I just went into preferences > slider and make the precise cursor. He stopped the issue of flashing. Although it makes the little hard work on photoshop.

• Safari and Firefox Log-in problems

  I have problems to connect to some Web sites.  In particular, Facebook and Spotify.

  When I open either my wife login/password details are displayed.  I change mine by changing my user name and then selecting my details in the automatic fill pop - up. AutoFill completes the password for me. When I click on the "connect" button or either of these Web sites, instead of my contact information is passed to the site Web and my version, opening, the connection details get switched back instantly on the IDs of my wife and get his version of web pages instead.

  To add to this, Spotify now goes directly to the newspaper to my wife and no longer gives me the ability to insert my own login information.
