Strange, indefinable bug in InDesign CS2014

Can someone tell me how to get rid of this strange bug?

He steals the focus and then returns. It causes all sorts of problems. Sometimes it bugs much / many times in a short time, sometimes less.

The bug is only in InDesign. This started after I updated all the software to the current latest version:

OSX Mavericks 10.9.4

Adobe Creative Cloud 2014

InDesign 10.0.0.7 Build

You have a plugin of activation of fonts installed Extensis?

  • Mouse click strange focus bug - Office steals focus?

    Hello!

I have a bug very strange, not so easy to explain.

Sometimes, when I click on a window he will LOSE focus and therefore each click will make any update to the point of losing application.
The only way to give a keyboard app at least the development of alt - tab to it, or activate other than by the keyboard.
Currently there is a click anywhere, focus is no longer.
On the desktop I can't click on the taskbar, it is as there is not the focus, but I can click on the icons on the desktop and can ' show ' this selection rectangle.

The only way I know to get back to normal (except reconnect or restart) is by pressing ctrl + alt + delete, then click on he evokes in this new 'window'. It's somehow "normal" mouse again, so I can click Cancel and continue the work.

First encountered this problem on Sunday while playing with Windows Movie Maker. Back then the only method I knew was reconnection, so I rather formatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows7 (Professional), I was pretty shocked when he realized is always the same.

Could not say what makes it appear, it is while using different applications etc, seems fairly random.

I use a 2 monitor Setup. Disable the 2nd monitor does not solve the problem, after its appearance.

Any ideas what may cause this? Maybe graphics card failure? I don't think it's the driver because the error reappears before reinstalling the latest ATI drivers.
The similar problem only I could find has a post on the forum long long on a similar issue in Windows XP, and there is no answer at all.

    Thank you very much.

Certainly not a problem of material for me.  Things are better when I killed the explorer.exe (using the Task Manager).

In the Task Manager, I noticed that there are two instances of Flash Player running. Kill them does not solve everything, but once again, the behavior has been slightly less successful.  It turned out that I had both Flash 12 and 14 Flash installed. Then I uninstalled both and this is!  Everything was jake.

All the bad behavior had disappeared. Altogether.

I ran a few days like that and then reinstalled Flash 14.  Everything is always OK.

Why the Flash configuration didn't remove the old version?  Cannot answer for you. All I can say is I'm happy again.

  • Shape the strange behavior - Bug?

Hey there, can anyone explain this strange behavior?

After Effects CC 2015.3, Windows 7.

Create a form, just STROKE-> convert to a path and simply animate the path...

    Watch the video:
    2016 09 23 19 48 25 253 - YouTube Bandicam

    Thank you

Try this. After you convert the rectangle to a Bézier path select the pen tool, hold the tool Ctrl/Cmnd to change from the point to add to the direct Selection tool, drag the selection over the left upper point Bezier path, click right and choose the mask and path of shape > define a first Summit.

Now animate your side and everything should be fine. The problem is that it seems to be no first vertex set when you create a Bezier path from a form. This happens with all forms converted into paths. If you hold down the Alt/Option key when creating a path of a shape tool a Bezier curve is created instead of a parametric form and the problem does not exist.

I'm going to file a bug report.

  • Deleting a Bug in InDesign CS6 Guide

When I open a document created in InDesign CS5 in CS6, the guides are locked, and there is no way to unlock. Believe me, which was certainly the first thing I checked. These guides cannot be deleted or moved. Looks like a bug, but maybe there's a work around? Any ideas? Thank you.

The impression that there are two ways of the lock guides. In the 'View' menu under ' grid and guides > Lock Guides "and the layers palette, double-clicking the layer containing guides and selecting a box that says"Lock Guides.

For some reason, InDesign CS5, that are open in CS6 documents have the second method of the Guide lock applied to them, even if the original document was not locked guides. And when the Guides are blocked under this method, the "view > grid and guides ' menu does not indicate that the Guides are locked in all. There is no visible indication that the guides are locked, so she turns out to be a bit of a usability nightmare.

Maybe it helps others with the same question.

  • Possible bug in inDesign CS5 with find and change

This could be a problem with my script, or it may be a bug, not sure.

The script is used to find a double space in a text fragment and change to single space.

It only works once when it is run.

To make it work again you must close and reopen inDesign.

    Here is the code:

    app.findTextPreferences.findWhat = "";
    app.changeTextPreferences.changeTo = "";
    App.documents [0] .changeText ();

    Works for me...

Try to screw up your prefs.

  • Strange problem: paste text InDesign CC2015 always adds color cyan

Whenever I have paste a text in an InDesign in InDesign CC2015 document - it is also important the cyan 100% color to my Swatch Library. (They text is always black, however, and there is no background color or whatever it is.)

Anyone know why this is happening?

Not a big problem but enough weird...

    Another note on this.

    What is not working:

Change the default shading of paragraph fill color, if you change the default settings of your 'base Paragraph Style' when no document is open to 'None' and go ahead.

    Have you always a swatch namedC = 100 M = 0 Y = 0 K = 0"that is in use. I suspect that fill colorC = 100 M = 0 Y = 0 K = 0"is part of the style 'No paragraph Style' paragraph 'invisible '. And "Basic Paragraph Style" is based on "No paragraph Style".

Just tested the script (ExtendScript/JavaScript) and I can confirm my hypothesis.

We can address the "no paragraph Style" by the index 0 of the collection of the app (i.e. InDesign) paragraph styles like this:

    app.paragraphStyles[0].paragraphShadingColor.name;

    will return "C = 100 M = 0 Y = 0 K = 0".

And you cannot change that. Even by the script.

Trying to 'None' in the color property of shading as value

    app.paragraphStyles[0].paragraphShadingColor = "None";

    will throw an error.

    So "C = 100 M = 0 Y = 0 K = 0" will stay with us for a long time, I suspect ;-)

  • I am getting a strange Visual bug... What is the problem with Photoshop?

So I had this bug since I moved to Mac AND using Photoshop CC.

So far I had been affected by this problem at work and could not share screenshots because of the NDA, but it happened to me at home! FINALLY PROOF!

Just a quick note, using fully updated Photoshop CC on two computers, one is a Mac Book Pro and the other is an iMac, both running most Yosemite day and enough new computers both purchased in October with tons of ram and video/graphic cards perfectly capable. I use a Cintiq 12wx, but I tested the bug off the coast of the Tablet earlier today and she has yet occurred.

I was going to do a simple task of resizing, changing the aspect ratio of this photo as a wallpaper for my tablet.

I saved it on my desktop and when I dragged it obtained these data weird confusing picture at the bottom of the photo:

    1.png

Pressing enter does not solve it.

    2.png

I decided to save, re-open and see if it fixes. Nope. I even painted on the messed at the bottom part. And when I placed a new fresh top layer and used the bucket tool, I got it!

    3.png

As you can see it emulates in the photo below, if there is NO DATA on this layer. What the hell?

I know I'm not crazy, it happened on 2 different machines, all updates and fairly new. I called support several times about it, but their suggestion of changing the performance in the preferences settings did not help!

UGH! Please help, this bug has killed me at work. I literally lost days! This happens sometimes when I'm in the middle of hundreds of layers with large photoshop files, and then I have to go through each layer one by one, because it often corrupts text and flat images. Also, when you do the graphic design of the project is the MOST boring that could possible happen.

You can observe me to add in the text:

    4.png

The second, I finished typing in the text:

    5.png
WHAT THE HELL! WHAT THE HELL!

And honestly, I'm not that crazy, that it was not important. Sometimes at work, this will happen in a file I have works for hours.

If I not save a backup, regardless of how much I do restart, flat images and text will be displayed always screwed up like this, and I have to correct by hand. Ugh!

Could someone help me please? I'm desperate to fix this BS!

I downloaded the file here http://www.filedropper.com/tablet in case that anyone cares to watch the PSD.

I think you can thank Apple for that.  See this discussion.

    Hello everyone,
    the following code works as expected;

I got the error ora-00918 ambiguous column defined for zone_id.

Is this a bug or is there a reason?

    Thank you in advance,

In fact, it's a bug. As a fix, the problem:

    alter session set "_column_elimination_off"=true

  • Strange text framework accidents InDesign

I'm working on this book and I have a problem with the file crashing when exporting what either.

I discovered that the problem is a specific text block in the editing of a page table. He won't let me do anything to it without crashing, which is obviously a huge deal.

    Things I've tried:

    • Delete: hangs.

    • Move: hangs.

    • Delete the page it is on: hangs.

    • Document change fonts: hangs.

    • Text of the link for it: hangs.

    • Change content options: gray/cannot change.

    Things of note:

    • It seems somewhat related to Times New Roman Regular, since when I try to change it to something else, it crashes.

    • Most of the text of this document was imported from word documents and later re-formatted.

    • I discovered the box after each page and manually change the type.

Is there a work around for this? Or is it the ever? I could not find another instance of it elsewhere.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you.

Try to create a new document and use the Pages to move to move everything except the page assigned to the new document. Try to simply copy the content of the page the last page, and then paste it into your new document

  • Strange problem (bug?) with access to a specific geometry

We have a database with hundreds of thousands of polygons (among others).
We have a number of queries that retrieve polygons in a (rectangular) area chosen by the user.

    In general, everything works fine.

However, in trying to retrieve data of a particular area, we found that oracle kept throwing at the end of the file (03113)
or 'no more to read shooting Data' exception and disconnection.

Our first was that the region contained too many data [we often get this exception when you try to return large amounts of data, but it's another

question]. But no, we could limit the area such that it contained only a handful of polygons and he always threw the exception.

After more testing, we were able to narrow the problem down to a single geometry.

It validates ok, and geo raptor in sql Developer, it can display ok (it is a torus lying, somewhat like a race track).
However, do not attempts to run the query on the matter.

We have reduced the query as follows:

    INSERT INTO RDTESTIDS
    SELECT RDTestTA.Polygon
    OF RDTestTA, RDTestPoly
    WHERE RDTestTA.Polygon = RDTestPoly.ID
    AND (SDO_ANYINTERACT)
    RDTestPoly.geometry,
    SDO_GEOMETRY (2003, NULL, NULL,)
    SDO_elem_info_array (1,1003,3),
    SDO_ordinate_array (531250,163965,531310,164000)
    )
    ) = "TRUE";

    Where:

RDTestTA is an array that contains two fields: TAID (NUMBER) and POLYGON (NUMBER)
RDTestPoly is an array that contains two fields: ID (NUMBER) and GEOMETRY (SDO_GEOMETRY)
RDTestIDs is a table containing the unique field: ID (NUMBER)

Success of this operation for each geometry, we met so far except the 'circuit '.
and we do not know what could be the cause of the problem.

Curiously, if we remove the "INSERT INTO RDTestIDs" or joining with RDTestTA, it works!

Suggestions of the ad hoc to avoid the problem by rewriting etc. are not really what is needed here
-He should know what he is this geometry that is causing Oracle to fail
where it occurs with other geometries and/or queries we encounter in the future.

Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

    Richard

All I can say is that I have improved my 10.2.0.1 precisely because I often got what experienced you:

However, in trying to retrieve data of a particular area, we found Oracle kept throwing the exception of 'No more to read shooting Data' or end of file (03113) and disconnect.

In other words, the dreaded ORA-03113 error.

So, I'm afraid that I can't test your problem on 10.2.0.1.

But I can confirm, as Luc, it works on 10.2.0.2 Patch 18 on Windows XP.

I would recommend you get down the relevant updated version + its patches for your operating system from Metalink.

  • Review on the decline for InDesign to Z5200

I have a 24 x 36 "job in Adobe InDesign and want to print at 67%. I created a custom paper of 18 x 26 size. When I go to print, the work is not downward revision. It remains 100% eventhought that I ask it to print at 67%.

Y at - it a bug with InDesign? Why I can't scale down?

I hope that someone will answer me...

    Kind of empty here.

I answer myself just so that people can refer to it later.

After calling HP support, we found what the problem was. The postscript driver is not being to scale down jobs. You must use the driver of PCL3. Works fine now. Always have some testing to do, but he saved the situation.

One thing I want to mention is that these forums should be visited by the people of HP. Who would help find answers and help people like me who have spent days looking for an answer.

I had the confirmation that HP staff do not visit these forums. Clearly visible by the amount of responses on the wire, close to nothing. Maybe it's a business decision but HP should display answers here so that they would have less phone calls and users frustrated.

    I hope this helps.

  • InDesign fusion has not properly multiple records

    I'm not a novice.

But desperately need to merge labels on a sheet of labels A4 with 40 labels of each.

InDesign doesn't respect space and merges the random data margins and their position.

I expect Indesign to accurately reproduce my label if I can print it.

    Instead, I get this:

    merge_error.png

I tried everything and followed all the instructions on this thread that requires to change the margin and spacing even.

Data problems many fusion - cliché registration

I think it is a bug in InDesign.

Can anyone give me some suggestions? And how could I reach technical support?

    Thanks in advance!

    Darma

Hi guys, I managed to get it to work. As a resource of mast, I deleted my preferences and that has somehow made the rounds.

Now, I printed with the exact label, on the A4 size and using the coordinates 0,0 and 0 margins. It's certainly a bug in InDesign that should be addressed in future updates.

Peter Spier Is there a reason why you do not recommend upgrading via CC?

Thank you SJRiegel and Laubender to try to help.

And last but not least: is there a way Git or any other reort of bugs to the developers?

    Thank you!

  • Select the color of bitmap images or grayscale in InDesign CC 2015.4

    Hi all

Since InDesign CS1, I'm used to be able to import levels of grayscale or bitmap graphics, and then select the color in InDesign.

I just had to choose the "Direct Selection" tool, click on the graphic and select another color.

Since InDesign version CC 2015.4 it no longer works.

    No workaround is it available?

    Thank you

    Robin (from Germany)

    Hi Robin,

This is a bug with InDesign CC 2015.4.
To set the end of August.

So far, you could always leave the preview overlay mode on.
So the bug is not visible.

  • InDesign/InCopy package created by CCP asking (disabled) application CC

We create the installation packages for the new version of the Creative Cloud 2015, for use by our staff and teachers of higher education. We have the appropriate volume license an ETLA, I think. Creative cloud Packer (CCP) allows us to produce Mac OS X installation packages, we then distribute using a software, like JAMF Casper management solution. We are building a package for each application (Photoshop.pkg, FlashPro.pkg, PremierePro.pkg, etc.), and three "bundles", roughly resembling the beams CS6 - Master Collection.pkg, Design and Web Premium.pkg and Premium.pkg of Production. When you create the package, we disable the creative Cloud application and use of Adobe Update Manager to manage updates. We use the RemoteUpdateManager behind the scenes to update the software. AdobeID created by our teachers and staff is not associated with our volume license, so the creative Cloud application is of little use, since (to the best of my knowledge, at least) requires a subscription to creative cloud in order to run.

With the new version, Mac OS X package we build that contains InDesign or InCopy 2015 and installed on a Mac OS X 10.10.x system (I'll test on 10.9.x tonight and tomorrow) will display the following error message message:

    CreativeCloudMissing.png

"Adobe Creative Cloud is necessary to solve this problem. However, it is missing or damaged. Please download and install a new copy of the creative cloud of 'http://www.adobe.com/go/adobecreativecloudapp'. »

The package has been rebuilt from scratch in CCP to ensure that the creative cloud application has been disabled. When this new package has been installed, the system rebooted, and each started application, the application always invited the creative cloud application installation information. The guest would not display if InDesign or InCopy is left and is started again during the same connection session. However, the first time or the other application is started after the restart, invites her missing Adobe Creative Cloud is redisplayed. Other applications start normally without displaying the command prompt.

No other package that we have built for versions of Creative Cloud 2015 exhibits this behavior.

Packages created for 2014 and original creative cloud versions do not have this behavior.

Please notify. Is this a bug in InDesign and InCopy applications?

    Hi all

Just to make the point on this issue.

We have identified the problem with the team produced and looked at the fastest way to solve for customers. We decided that we will do an another rev of the CCP that will incorporate a fix for the problem. The new version of the CCP will be activated Monday 29. What I would say, is to wait until the new version of the CCP will live on Monday. Once you have updated to simply re-create the package and install. The question should no longer be visible. Simply start and restart to ensure.

Yet once again thank you all so much for your patience and help diagnose the problem. We review it internally and will try and ensure that this does not happen again.

The article will also be updated shortly.

    See you soon

  • InDesign CC 2014 spinning wheel for 3 seconds each time when moving objects

I'm working on a magazine, not that big, 64 pages (I do often 100s of pages) and it's happened before with CC. I move a text box, picture, shape, QR code or anything on the page, I get the spinning wheel for about 3 seconds until the object is moving and the slider is 'released '. Sometimes up to 6-7 seconds. If I press "Cancel", takes an object as much time to go back. Seems to be random, the document is well a minute, but if it starts to happen with a document from the downturn and it won't go away.

Saved as a new document, rebooted Indesign does not resolve.

Export under idml and re-opening/registration as new doc does not set

Change from normal to fast display mode does not

    Preflight deactivation does not set

    Does not clear the cache.

    InDesign is up-to-date

My PC is Windows 7, 64 bit, 16 GB Ram, 240 GB SSD and 4 TB of storage.

Using Indesign since it replaced PageMaker way back when

Hi, yes I can confirm that it is due to copying items to another InDesign file.

Not really a problem as it is a bug in InDesign, but here is the workaround:

    • If you have copied elements of another InDesign file, open the old folder and look at all the temp files appearing while you have the wheel (you may need to 'show hidden files' in Solution Explorer folder options.) If a temporary file keeps appearing and disappearing in this folder, which is the culprit.
    • So rename the old folder (use an underscore or similar). Then, indesign will not be able to refer to the old folder and create these odd temporary files.
    • If you copy any form elements more other InDesign files, you must rename those files (or rename this folder once again), but do not change the name of the original name because it will start to slow down again in InDesign.

Hope that make sense... otherwise, I could probably do a little YouTube video of the bug and work around.
