• Yellow colors appear dull export, drives me crazy, need help

  When I export a photo from lightroom in JPEG with sRGB color space, I see huge differences mainly yellow colours.

  The photo of sRGB washed yellow which is a huge difference to the development version.

  I have a very basic knowledge of color management and Lightroom and understand the theory of color spaces and that he will always be differences in color because of the conversion from Lightroom (Prophoto with tonecurve of sRGB) in sRGB.

  But what I don't understand is that my yellow in color space sRGB exported look much more washed out and ugly so similair pictures I find on the net. (which are also in the sRGB color space)

  For example, the image below, which includes rich yellow colors in my browser (Firefox4):

  If I compare to my image exported (with saturated colors high in lightroom), I see a huge difference in the yellow color:

  What is confusing to me, is that when I open the Flickr images locally in Photosop I see that the yellow GET washed, there, as well (probably because that the PS is color management).

  So I thought that maybe it's the webbrowser (Firefox 4) that incorrectly displays the photos, but then again, why not my photos look so washed out in Firefox4 and other flickr sRGB photos, they also have an sRGB profile... (Firefox4 should be color management).

  In any case I can reproduce these solid yellow colours using Lightroom to export. (IN Lightroom, it seems very well)

  -My screen is calibrated using a spyder3 pro colour. (I do not have a range wide lcd)

  -J' using Lightroom 3.3 for editing and using full export of RAW to JPEG color space sRGB.

  I wouldn't start compared to other photos on flickr with yours, but comparing the view to develop it in LR with sRGB off LR export.

  Issues related to the:

  Compared with the view to develop in LR

  • What looks like a JPEG look exported in Photoshop?
  • What looks like a JPEG look exported in Firefox 4?
  • How an exported JPEG looks in LR, after you import it?

  If they all look the same (more or less) the same, there is no problem with your JPEG export.

  The two images from flickr, you are referring to DOES NOT include any color or same profile tag. So depending on how Firefox 4 manages photos not marked, you might just be looking at their using your profile display or something else (I don't have Firefox 4 installed to discover, in Firefox 3, there are gfx.color_management.display_profile to be specified). In addition, be aware that Firefox 4 (AFAIK) is beta, so bugs should not be ruled out.

• After you have installed the latest Pantone color library in photoshop, some colors are inaccessible

  I try to refer to a specific Pantone color in Photoshop. I want to use the color library browser, so that I can easily get an overview of my chosen color variants. The color, I'm working with is not available in the original Pantone Coated color book provided with my version of Photoshop. So I downloaded and installed the Pantone color Manager and checked the color I want IS identified in the book lying in the Pantone color Manager. Great! I saved the book of color as a .acb file and installed in Photoshop. But I can not yet select some colors. They exist in Pantone color Manager, but they are not searchable from within Photoshop. Very strange!

  Here are the steps I followed to bring the book of the color in Photoshop:

  1. launch Pantone Color Manager

  2. Select the formula Guide - coated color book

  3. perform a search for "2128" and ensure that color exists.

  4. choose Save as... and save the file with a .acb (Adobe color book) file. I named it "PANTONE + Solid Coated - V3.acb.

  5. exit Photoshop

  6 copy the book of color in books color file in Photoshop (/ Applications / Adobe Photoshop CC 2015/Presets/color books).

  7. start Photoshop.

  8. open the color picker and click the button "color libraries".

  9. choose my new book of color in the menu ("PANTONE + Solid Coated-V3')

  10 type '2128': not found (Photoshop shows me 212c instead).

  I scrolled the book color in Photoshop - color isn't here!

  What I am doing wrong?

  You want to export the color book. Then it must meet 2-1-2-8 in the Photoshop color picker and I would choose Lab as the color model during export.

  My experience of Photoshop is Photoshop 6.0 (the last version I used).  My company want to buy Photoshop Lightroom (v. 6), I have never heard of or used.  These two programs are how similar/different?  If I know how to use Photoshop 6.0, Photoshop Lightroom is easier to use, or will I need a class/tutorial?  Please notify.

  No, not the same, not even close. Not to mention 6 PS is old... very old. Lightroom is just for editing - fixing color, exposure, and things like that. Impossible to remove backgrounds or combine images. Images are managed in a data base for so that you can the keyword, sort you them, etc. You must export them for use. You need a class for Lightroom and a class for the new Photoshop... time to jump into the 21st century! So cool new things to learn.

  The good thing is that you already have a notion of how to make some of these tasks, you just learn the interface and how to move around in Lightroom. Lynda.com is a great resource.

  I use Photoshop CS2 on a work computer to edit and upload images of vehicles and I use the automatic color (Ctr + Alt + B) Balance very often. I am recently upgraded computers and installed the same version of Photoshop on my new and there is no longer automatic adjusts the color balance, it brings just the menu to set manually the photos. Can someone help me do this automatic setting again?

  Yes, it will use the last settings used when using Ctrl + Alt + B, without I knowing the color balance dialog box still open with the last used parameters shown.

  As far as I know or remember that you were never able to save the presets from color balance.

  Although I always wondered why it's never been applied.

  You can use an action or script to save the settings.

  What happens if there was only "half a gradient" (blue yellow), and that the magnitude of the style is largest, it should work in your case, no?

  My Satellite A100-250 is now almost 1.5 years old. Recently, the screen goes funny; black text on white has shadows strange, degraded colors have streaks of primary color, some halftone colors seem to cross the screen.

  He disappeared once simply by closing the laptop and restart, but this no longer works.

  I updated the BIOS of 2.2, but it had no effect, unfortunately.
  Startup Toshiba logo seems well, the Intel logo at the bottom right is however not...

  It could be a problem with the Windows updates is not installed which may affect other facilities.
  Go to control panel > Windows update > view update history. From there though to see if an update has failed. If there is an update failed, check the error code of the update and then we can go from there to determine the cause.

  If there is no Windows Update failed, then go to the event viewer and see if there are errors in the application or system event viewer.
  To open Event Viewer: click on the Start button. In the start search box, type and then event viewer from the list results, double - click to view the application and system event logs.

  Please answer back with an update.

• No printing of yellow color in Photosmart B109a

  I use the all-in-one Photosmart B109a printer and it was working fine until yesterday. Since yesterday, it prints yellow color. I use the original HP 364 cartridges, the warranty date is OK. Soak the printhead nozzles in the water would help? If he would, how can I do?

  Argyle thanks for your suggestion. This is what I did before posting on the forum, but did not help. So, I wiped the nozzles of the printhead with a soft and rather wet and thus solve the problem.
