Strict NAT with a BEFSR41 router

So I play frequently on my xbox 360 and I like to browse my computer when I'm waiting for a match. With my old router, same brand and model, all I had to do was do port forwarding with the ports recommended on xbox.com and enable upnp and I had no problems to connect to games, joining friend games or assembling them mine.

So when I got my replacement router I have activated the same options as before but kept getting the strict NAT message when I start a game and none of my friends could join my game and I couldn't join them. So I enabled the DMZ and clone the MAC address of xbox 360. He got rid of the NAT strict message but I noticed a significant drop in the speed of the internet, yet none of my friend could join my game and I couldn't reach them.

So I had to unplug the router and connect the xbox directly on the modem I have while waiting for the replacement router and I could do all the things as before. So it leads me to believe that there is a problem with the router. I have a linksys BEFSR41 v. 4.3 router and modem motorola with a DSL connection.

Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you are right that if the modem acts as a router, it should be filled if you want to connect to another router... If your modem is full you will not get the internet light on your modem (it will remain off)...

Once you configure the modem in Bridge mode full you must configure the type of internet connection of your router in PPPoE and enter the correct user name and password provided by your Internet Service Providor (ISP)... Once done, click on save settings...

Click the status tab and search for an IP address, if you get 0.0.0.0 for the IP address click on the Connect button and weait... Power Cycle your modem and your roputer for a minute and see if you can go online... Once you are online, you can make the settings as shown in the previous post for your X - Box and it should connect...

  • Need help installing BEFSR41 router

    Hello

I need some help configure a router BEFSR41, that I bought recently.  A year ago, I got a WRT54GS router and was able to set it up to my Siemens modem DSL 4100 b without any problem.  (Maybe I was just lucky before when I set up the wireless router)  Now I have misery BEFSR41 to work.  I tried to replace my BEFSR41 in the same position as my WRT54GS by using the same configuration.  I'm reproducing the setting on my WRT54GS BEFSR41 router to the wired connection. I took the "Automatic Configuration - DHCP" on my WRT54GS, so on the BEFSR41, I choose "obtain an IP address automatically".  I also activate local DHCP server from 192.168.1.100.  This should configure the BEFSR41 as WRT54GS, right?  But I couldn't get on the internet using BEFSR41 with this configuration.

I checked the routing table for the two router see if it makes a difference and noticed that the only thing different is that the routing table for BEFSR41, the fields of the gateway is 0.0.0.0, but they have correct values on my WRT54GS.

Another difference between the two routers is that on the screen of my WRT54GS State, he showed entry 192.168.0.1 DNS1 and DNS2 and DNS3 entries are empty.  On the State of BEFSR41 screen, it showed DNS1 as 192.168.0.1, then he repeats DNS1 as 192.168.0.1, and finally another DNS1 entry is empty.  How important is it that on the status of the BEFSR41 display, is to show field DNS1 3 times? (instead of DNS3 DNS1, DNS2)

Thanks in advance for any help.

I suspect that the reason the 4100 and the BEFSR41 do not play well together is that both of them use the proxy DNS servers.  DNS proxy on the BEFSR41 servers run 192.168.1.1 and the DNS proxy on the 4100 servers run 192.168.0.1.   My bet is that "double proxy servers" are simply not passing addresses correctly.

As to why the 4100 b works with your old router, but not with your most recent router, I'm not sure.  Is your 4100 several years old?  Often old modems work with older routers, but not with the newer routers.

I think that it is best to place your 4100 b in Bridge mode.  It would like to convert it to a real modem.  It therefore would not have an IP address, or make your PPPoE connection.  This would be "Not used PPPoE" (on the modem).

Your BEFSR41 would have to be configured to your PPPoE connection.

  • Static NAT with the road map for excluding the VPN

We have problems of access to certain IPs NATted static via a VPN.  After some research, we have learned that you have to exclude traffic destined for the VPN to the static NAT using a road map. So we did this:

10.1.1.x is the VPN IP pool.

    access-list 130 refuse ip 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.255
    access-list 130 allow ip 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 any

    sheep allowed 10 route map
    corresponds to the IP 130

IP nat inside source static 192.168.1.5 1.1.1.1 sheep map route

Above worked to fix the VPN but the IP 192.168.1.5 is no longer publicly available via 1.1.1.1.  What seems to happen, is that the static NAT is not really work and this IP address is NATted with the IP of PAT.

Any ideas on how to get this to work?

    Thank you

  • NAT WITH FLEXVPN

    Hello

Please can someone tell me how NAT with flexvpn?

I have a HUB to spoke and spoke to talk configuration with virtual-templates.

When I configure NAT and do a traceroute to google the first hop ip address is the HUB router.

but it must go directly to the internet.

    Thanks in advance,

    Topcu, M

Take a look at the difference between the defined itinerary and accept the traffic.

You're forcing the default routes... bad idea unless controlled :-)

Start by removing the "any" declaration of access lists using road together.

  • Wireless camera does not work with the new router

Hello, I'm having a problem with a camera D-Link DCS932L after you set up the EA4500.  The manual of the camera can be found here.

    http://d2okd4tdjucp2n.CloudFront.NET/DCs-932L_A1_Manual_v1.00 (NA) - en.PDF

It worked fine with my old D-Link router.  The rest of the House has not had a problem with the EA4500.  There is a level of criticality around this camera certail and if I can't make it work, I'll have to return the router.  Configure the redirection of port as 5556 ~ 5559, TCP protocol (but I tried "Both" as well"with the IP address of the camera.  It still does not work.

I craft but not in networks, i.e. I'm not stupid with tech but port quarrels is out of my comfort zone.  This camera with our old router setup took minutes.  I spent five hours trying to make it work on the EA4500.

I guess you have the static IP value, or having a reserve of DHCP MAC address for the camera, network OK settings.

What was the authentication wireless on the old router and that you use the new 4200?

Is it possible that the camera does not support the encryption used by the 4200, i.e. wpa2-personal?

Have you tried WEP to see if the unit works then?

  • Can not set up a new Smart Wireless of Linksys account with my new router EA6500.

It started with an EA6350 router that I bought last month. It was working fine and my acount of smart wifi linksys worked very well and I've been using all services without any problem. I found a better offer on EA6500 and since it was less than 30 days, I went back my old router EA6350 and bought EA6500 and guess what each unique feature works very well except for the fact that this isn't to let me create new account Wifi Linksys niether afford card from my old account with the new router. Every time I reset the router and start a fresh install and get to the point where it ask me to create the account, it is for me very stupid mistake saying 'your router is not connected to the internet' which is not true because I can browse the internet explore even without any problem.

I took help thru time camps technical cat, also called the linksys support but no one is able to resolve the problem so that. Rather they make me to reset my router again once I get the same message and we are not good with the solution. If what someone has the slightest idea or idea or some thing to try please let me know. Thank you.

    Problem is solved.

I updated the firmware by accessing the router locally and manually downloaded the new cabinet where the Linksys.support.com file and then installed. After that, all the errors I was getting were gone.

Solution simple but not to think at any time.

I hope that it might help others who have done the same kind of problem.

    Thank you!

  • Problem with my WRT54G Router.

    Hello!

I have a problem with my WRT54G Router. From time to time, he will leave the connection but it back a few seconds later. Now, it is an annoyance, whenever I try to stream a video game or even simply online.

The problem could be related to my modem? Or my ISP? The router itself has 2 wired computers sharing the internet connection. The connection is dropped on both computers, of course.

Now, this situation can also hit its use torrent? I was the client download of World of Warcraft official website and it seemed to keep the speed of around 25 KB/s. That really seems low given the amount of seeders and the overall performance of my connection.

I appreciate any help and I can also provide any additional information.

Try to reflash/upgrade of the firmware of the router. You can download the firmware from the linksys Web site. After upgrading the firmware, reset the router, power cycle it and re - configure the router from scratch.

  • E3000 won't handshake with the edge router

Recently, I bought new E3000. I place the E3000 with edge router static IP address rather DCHP which seemed failing at the same IP address and DNS. Associated with the E3000 laptops have their own IP which differ from the IP address of the border router. E3000 is configured with firewall No. minimum protection, for now. The reason for a minimum protection was to get the handshake between the two routers. The border router is a product of Verizon. The old router I was using is a Netgear who did the handshake with the edge router. I have the latest firmware for the E3000 version of the Firmware: 1.0.04)is build 6. Router will not handshake with wired connections or wireless. Used to connect to the E3000 laptop is running Windows 7 Ultimate.  In fact, all laptops here use the same OS and connect wirelessly. I've tried the package of software provided on the site, which housed a diagnosis that apparently could not solve the problem as well. I have not idea about why E3000 not handshake with the edge router. Can we make a few suggestions. Thank you to all those who respond.

What is the IP address of the router Verizon? What you write suggests that the Verizon router uses 192.168.1.1. If this is the case, establish the E3000 as a switch simple ethernet access point as follows:

    1. disconnect the E3000 from the Verizon router.
2 wire a single computer in the E3000.
    3. open the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/ (or whatever the IP address you put it now).
    4. on the main configuration page, make sure that your type of internet connection is on "auto/DHCP.
    5. on the same page, set the LAN IP address to 192.168.1.2.
    6. on the same page, disable the DHCP server.
    7. save the settings.
8 unplug the computer and one of the LAN ports numbered from the E3000 wireless to your router to Verizon.

That's all. Now, you can use the E3000 as access point and you can use the remaining 3 LAN ports for wired devices.

  • Using WRT54GS as a point with a gateway router

My family just moved into a new House, and the package Internet for our DSL included installation of a router wireless (non-Linksys) and the (plugged into the DSL modem) Internet gateway down in the basement.  The problem is that the intensity of the signal on the 2nd floor is very low, sometimes non-existent.  Since we have a Linksys WRT54GS router v.2 lying around the previous House, I thought that I would try to put up with our main router, to set up a new network on the 2nd floor by using the ethernet connection.

But I keep running into trouble.  I have reset the router so that I know how to find all the settings and I can now access the admin wireless page and I managed to change the network name, and also to configure encryption.  That's all before you connect to the Internet, so of course I can only access the admin page and nothing else.

But once I plug the ethernet cable - which leads directly to the bridge down - router the Linksys router just stopped working and is no longer distributes all packets at all when I check the connection details.  It does not even serve to the top of the admin page, even if my computer indicates a connection.  Reset the cords for connection to a "Limited or no connectivity" error, both with the wireless connection and also a wired connection using a standard ethernet cable to the back of the Linksys router in my computer.  It's as if plug the Linksys router on the Internet (i.e. the other router) it freezes or it confuses.  I can only make it work again by disconnecting the active Internet cable and turn off the router and then turn it back on.

I tried to change the mode of operation to the router, and I also changed the default address of my other router (192.168.1.1, which otherwise, would share it with the Linksys router) out of the way but none of it works.

Once again, I can access the admin wireless page and make all kinds of changes to the installation and get it works perfectly - until I plug my other router (i.e., for reference, a TRENDnet TEW-432BRP) Linksys.

Since all wired computers work fine with the TRENDnet router modem, I am writing to you guys for helping me understand how to configure the Linksys router to work with her too, so I can use wireless on the 2nd floor of this House.

Of course, if you think this is impossible for some reason, please let me know so that I can live with it and get my life back.

    Thank you very much.

Well, you can try this... Cascade of the router...

Just connect a computer directly to the router Linksys - access your router (WRT54GS) setup and change the default address to 10.10.10.1, let the 'Enabled' DHCP server and save the changes... Wait a minute, unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable...

Now connect your router to bridge its Ethernet Port to the Internet Port Linksys router... See if you can connect to the Internet...

  • Network Magic cannot discover a "BEFSR41" router behind a "WET610N" wireless bridge

Just upgraded to a WRT610N 2 version in my office.  He pulls an IP address from my cable router and distributes IP addresses (this is setup for DHCP) without problem.  I need to extend the home network to another part of the House so I took 2 x WET610N wireless bridges.  Since many devices will have to use the bridge I'll recycle my BEFSR41 as a switch.  I have the router configuration and bridge; the bridge connects to the port "uplink" on the router, and the DHCP has been disabled on the router.  But when I run Network Magic BEFSR41 router cannot find the other side of the bridge.  Any ideas?

You need this post in the section Network Magic from this forum.  If the router acts as a switch, it will be transparent and not e seen.

  • Vista can communicate with the wireless router, but cannot access the internet

I have a SONY Vaio with Vista.  Until recently, it worked fine with an old router Netgear wireless with no encryption.  I replaced the router with a Linksys E1200 and set up for WPA/WPA2 encryption.  My iPod, iPad, an HP printer and laptop running Windows 7 quite change with absolutely no problem.  After entering the SSID and password on the Vaio, it connects to the router but will not access the Internet.  I tried to reset the router and cable modem, without success.  Suggestions before you start the laptop across the room and rid my life of the bane of Vista forever?

    Hello

    ·         What is the antivirus installed on the computer program?

    Let's try the following methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the antivirus on the computer program and check if the problem persists. If no problem occurs, then you need to firewall settings in the security software.

Note:  Check that you activate your anti-virus protection on the computer back after you complete these steps. It is not recommended to disable these settings on the computer. It's just to solve the problem.

    Disable the anti-virus software

Method 2: Follow the steps in the article mentioned below.

  • NAT with access-list

    Now,.

I want nat by looking at the destination address.

example if destination is A nat for x pool network, and if the destination is something different then nat to the pool of y.

IOS supports natting with ACLs and road maps.

but as stated in the order reference specifying acl is valid only for the nat 0.

So how can I nat based on destination address.

    is it possible with pix?

    If so, how?

    Thanks in advance

You can not do conditional NAT based on destination on the Pix address. The only way to achieve this would be to have several interfaces with itineraries that would send traffic for each interface, NAT them as appropriate.
