Stuck after disconnection (10.11.15) docking station

After the update to 10.11.15, it seems that the dock gets stuck on logout. Here are a few pictures to illustrate what I mean.

If I try to open a folder in the finder...

  • Laptop with docking home & two monitors... need to get laptop to work after the withdrawal of the docking station

It drives me crazy.  I have a work Dell laptop connected to a station host and two double monitors. It works very well at the office that I work mainly on two large dual screens.  When I remove the laptop from the docking station and bring home the computer starts and displays a portion of my homescreen (like an extended display).  But I can't do anything else with it. I can't access my files or anything.

What I want to do now that I'm home with my laptop is to redo the settings so that the laptop is my main screen.  The normal methods of right click and change the screen resolution do not work because I can't access my Windows start tab.  Any ideas...

    Thank you.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to determine the root cause of the problem.

    1. What is the number and model of your computer and the graphics card?

    2. Have you tried to monitor primary as secondary and vice versa?

    3. All device drivers are updated?

Windows can detect automatically that an additional screen. If you connect two or more monitors, you must manually designate the primary display, arrange your desktop, and apply display settings, such as color depth and screen resolution. So, the next time that you connect these monitors, Windows automatically identifies the primary display and applies the settings that you previously specified for each additional display.

Try the methods mentioned below and see if it helps.

    Method 1

If you haven't tried Exchange monitors so I suggest you to try and see if the problem still occurs.

To change the settings of two monitors you can consult the links below:

Note: This link is also applicable for Windows 7 .

    Method 2

If the problem persists I suggest you to update the display drivers. As the display drivers for two monitors are not the same, so try to update and check the status.

  • Still boring stuck 0.8 Ghz with docking station

If I put my W520 in sleep mode, put in my docking station and run it, it is still stuck at 0, 8 GHz! Same throttlestop will not work!

take it and on the dock during the race makes no difference. Oh well, there is a difference: as it is off the COAST of the docking on battery only, I can get full speed with turbo boost by judgment of the accelerator, but beware if I put it again on the docking station...

the only thing I can do is to restart the laptop, then I get the message: the power of the AC adapter is too low compared to the system has been shipeed with (I HAVE the original PSU 170W on my docking station!), then it starts with TB works very well.

These issues will never end, lenovo?

What BIOS version and the version of the power manager that you have? If its not 1.30 and 3.62 try this combination and see if it helps. What CPU do you have? Docking station that?

  • Graphic PCI - e to the advanced docking station is not a value of the loss of the button disconnect!

    Greetings,

After using the ATI Radeon X 1300 in the docking station advanced with my W500 (4061-38U) for more than a year, I'm in a clear position to conclude, it is not worth. Here are the reasons why you should not have this configuration:

-the complete loss of a KEY using a Docking Station features: the ability to quickly dock/undock the system without rebooting.

-l' use of the PCI - e 1 X is performance of garbage.

-native resolution of 1900 x 1200 of the 4061-38U, which is very frustrating to read. If this screen ends up not used at all.

-the ability to connect 2 displays: 1 DVI using, the other using VGA with loss of quality very little according to the screen, cable and the resolution.

-the docking station operating in the high fan noise (even though I had it worked)

-Finally the dock become unstable due to electricity and heat problems

-the size of the time, thinking about how to continue to be stubborn and approaching different configurations to improve performance in you question:

-> Lenovo USB DVI box, (slow performance, bandwidth USB. CPU consumption)

-> Other products USB DVI (same questions)

-> Double/triple Matrox display (likely to be slow performance, not part is no PCMCIA card for Laptop Docking procedure, do not know if it requires a restart, too expensive to my point of view)

-Finally and not least important, the size of the space: it is possible to operate the laptop closed cover and care so one of the LCD on the dock, table mounted VESA.

So, yesterday, I got back to this configuration more simple but more effective: W500 + advanced dock + 1 Viewsonic 22 '' LCD in landscape + Viewsonic 22 "LCD 1 running in portrait mode + disk backup in the dock UltraBay + external USB mouse and keyboard.

    Hi ppl

After more than a year and I still maintain the same configuration: mentioned in this topic. He plays very well, graphics wise.

Overall, the W500 is a great laptop. It's been updated with a 256GB SSD Samsung 830 and nothing more.

    4GB 32bitW7

All the best for you people

  • Returning to desktop settings dual monitor after re-docking station?

I use two monitors and my office is configured accordingly. Occasionally I remove my laptop from its station home to use it somewhere else, but after re-docking station, all the desktop icons are crushed in one screen! V frustrating!

Is there a way to "remember" the original settings dual screen and automatically back to her, without having to re - adjust manually everything?

You will find a solution to www.winhelponline.com/blog/save-and-restore-desktop-icon-layout.

Once you have installed this hotfix, you should right-click on an empty area on the desktop to save the layout of your office.  Use the same procedure to return to the saved layout.

  • T43 stuck in the docking station

My T43 is stuck in the docking station (Type 2877).  The button to release it appears fine, and the locking tabs will not let go.  Any help?

Quoting Ref. 67P 5254 (the ThinkPad Dock II User Guide):

    Of emergency eject:

When power is not supplied, the eject button will automatically appear.  To make it appear, follow these steps:

    1. press on the eject button.

    2. Insert a small flat-head screwdriver into the emergency eject hole, which is on the left of the hole of the safety lock.

    3. with the help of a screwdriver, move the small silver plate into the hole on the left.

(It worked for me with my T43p stuck in the docking station 2877).

  • Satellite Pro L670 - 11 d and Dynadock U10 problem re-docking station

This my first post on this forum - I hope I have the right category.

We have a user with a Satellite Pro L670 - 11 d attached to a port replicator Dynadock U10 USB.

Everything seems fine, except when press us the disconnect button (or select eject Dock) the laptop leaves the great.
However when we try to anchor (for example after a meeting of bureau) it does not recognize the usb connection and docking station won't. We usually have to restart at this point. We are attentive to reconnect to the same usb port.

Has anyone seen this problem and know a fix?

    Thank you

    David

    Hello

Have you noticed this problem only under this Dynadock U10 or perhaps with the external USB HDD too?
In my opinion, it sounds a bit like the issue of the BONE and not like the Dynadock question.

I would recommend this control by using a USB HDD.
Connect the USB HDD to the USB port as well.
Then, disconnect the USB HDD and unplug the laptop HARD drive. Reconnect the HARD drive and check if the HARD drive would be connected again.
If the same thing would happen with HARD drive, you should check the USB port
Maybe the chipset driver will need to be updated

But if the HARD drive is raccorderaient ok and if the question does not seem to be using the HARD drive, then, it would be necessary to check the Dynadock maybe reinstall the Dynadock from the software again.

  • ZR2740w HP and HP Folio 9470 m / UltraSlim, Docking Station

I have the following problem and hope someone in the forum as an idea / suggestion.

When I connected screen via a cable port with the docking station display and I have my laptop connected, I get no signal and the screen keeps black. This is independent of the operating system - I have used Windows 7, Windows 8.

When my laptop is connected, but I fix the cable directly to the laptop display port, it works without any problem.

I also realized that with the other poster 23 "or 24" with the docking station installation works without problem.

So it must be a cominbination between UltraSlim Docking Station and the ZR2740w screen.

Any advise what should be judged?

Update: After the call to HP support I have and being bounced between various clueless offshore tech support representatives, I finally landed on workstation support based in the United States.  Justin looked at the problem and identified as a known issue and replace my monitor cable with one that says that HP will work.   In addition, in the meantime, there is a solution that I understood.  If you do not use the display port on the docking ultraslim but pug the cable directly into the computer, it works fine.  There are some associated fact with what you have to plug each time dock you and unplug whenever you disconnect (and of course the cable always falls behind the desk while you do this), but it's okay as a solution while I'm waiting for the new cable to arrive.  Will update this post after that happens and report if it works.

  • Removable disk does not remain mounted (HP EliteBook & advanced Docking Station)

    Hello

I have a 8560 that connect me to HP 230W Advanced Docking Stations to each of my two workplaces. The 8560 p has a SSD drive and I use an identical SSD in the Bay of the docking station, which I use for automatic backups (I spend the SSD between two docking stations when I move locations) eSATA.

It works very well at the start. After loading the disc, it is recognized by the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology and presented as an "external drive" in the application of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology against the port of relevant (3). I can also see it in Windows Explorer and use it and work of backups when manually initiated.

However, after a period of inactivity SSD in the docking station is 'removed' by Intel Rapid Storage Technology (pop up says that he has been removed from Port 3). If I go into the application of the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology, it reports the port (Port 3) as 'empty '.

I have to remove and reinsert the SSDS to get the Intel Rapid Storage Technology and Windows technology to recognize it again. It means always to my backups automatic (they are planned for the night) in case of failure.

How to stop the disc being dismantled? I need that remains mounted until I have to physically remove or disconnect the laptop.

I am running Windows 7 and have applied all updates of current Windows (using Microsoft Update) and HP (using HP Support Assistant).

The SSD is a Crucial M4-CT512M4SSD2 (512 gb) firmware version 0009 (I'm aware that this is a firmware updated version and am upgrading, but don't think it is relevant to my current problem)...

    Thank you

    Nigel

    Problem solved.

The issue was the Crucial SSD firmware.  V0009 I had apparently has a known problem with the recovery of unexpected power loss.  When the laptop slept or the HD has been disabled by the energy saver, it was not handled properly and the SSD froze.

The SSD to 0040H firmware update solves the problem.

  • X 60/X 61 does not start in docking stations

    Hello world

I just got another strange problem: two laptop computers (X 60 and X 61) are not
Boot (Win XP) in their docking stations: after the XP Logo screen display

stays black and there is no activity on the HDD (I waited for approximately

30 min); I also tried to start inside without a docking station
LAN connected cable, but it also did not work.

If you disconnect the laptop and start them out docking stations they
startup (Win XP) fine. When the logon screen is displayed that you can put back them
in docking stations and work with them as usual without any problems.

Is there a special driver to be installed or what should I do?

    Thank you
    Loathar

    (1) starting the laptop outside the mooring station, plug it in before logon

    (2) download the latest "Intel Matrix Storage Driver" and extract it
    to a new folder

    (3) open the - Device Manager and goto the "IDE" or the "storage"-controller, "".
Select your SATA controller and click on the 'pilot' - button.
Finally select the folder of destination (2) update the driver.

    (4) restart the system, check the BIOS for "SATA = AHCI"-framework and everything ".
    should be good.

---> Install this driver via 'update-system' not always seems to work fine!

  • MacBook Air for Docking Station connection problem

I am trying to connect a MacBook Air to another monitor via a Kensington docking station, but they do not communicate. The additional monitor is sent immediately to sleep. If I connect Air to the monitor directly everything works fine, but I want to simplify my life with the docking station. Anyone have any ideas?

Well, I understood the question. It seems that the original DisplayLink software I was using was not correct. After connecting with Kensington, they gave me info on a new beta driver and it works fine.

  • Lose "Desktops" after disconnection of the screen of the laptop

I have the strangest question that I can't seem to solve.  We hope that you can show how the solution is right in front of me.

I have a Macbook Air, under OS X 10.11.4 I connect a widescreen Apple when I'm at my desk.  Through Mission control, I have "Screens have a separate space" checked so that I can use the split screen function.  Throughout my work day, I always use my laptop screen and screen more great for a variety of tasks.  Well, when I unplug my laptop on the big screen and then try to do a job of just my laptop, I can't find some open windows and applications.  In fact, I can not even find 'Desktop 1' when I use the Mission control.  It gives me 'Desktop 2' and the ability to add more posts to work.  There has been moments that I can't find my open applications and windows anywhere.  Sometimes I can get to them through the docking station.  But even in this case, it's really awkward.  Each time, I have to restart my computer and load new apps by scratch so much they are all together again.

What I'm doing wrong here?  I think it has something to do with the help of each display as a separate space, but how should I manage my activity if so?  I don't really like on displays with their own space, but I have to have this verified function if I use the split screen.  I use this feature all the time so don't want to let go.  Is there a way to consolidate computers to office/spaces after that I took off of the second monitor?

Anything you can help me with is appreciated.

    James

    Hi James,

I understand that you want to connect your MacBook Air to an Apple Thunderbolt display.  When you say 'split', ask you to share your desktop on both screens?  If so, you can configure the Thunderbolt as extended desktop display.

OS X El Capitan: connect multiple monitors to your Mac

Configure the screens as extended desktop

You can arrange your displays in all configurations to create an extended desktop. For example, you can set your screens side by side to create a large continuous desktop.

    1. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, click view, and then click Arrangement.

    2. Follow the instructions on the screen.

    Take care
