  I followed the online instructions how to install the SSD for my MacBook Pro. I then rebooted by Mac in recovery mode and formatted the drive in Mac OS extended (journaled). It was a little bit tricky message sometimes giving such as erasure of disk failures, but eventually it worked. I selected to install the OS on this HD. The image of the OS were first shown on OS X Lion, but my current OS is El Capitan. I just figured that he was installing the original operating system provided with the mac. The installation went well but then we he had finished wen timer back to 1 hour, 46 minutes. He made several times and after 6 hours, I decided to leave and start over. The second time after erasing HD and formatting again the OS that came was El Capitan for installation so I continued. This time, the installation has been completed and at the end says "OS could not be installed on my computer, reboot and try again." • Installation fails on new Macbook Pro

  I'm trying to install CS3 on a new Macbook Pro 13 "with the Mavericks retina. All except properly installed Photoshop CS3 applications. Photoshop fails and when I try to run it returns a message that it cannot be initialized because the disk is not available. I tried to reinstall and the installation fails. I tried to launch the old copy of the disc of the previous computer (now in the USB box) and I get the same error message. I tried copying it on to the new HD without success. I tried phone support and they won't help because it's an older version. CS3 is supposed to be compatible with the Mavericks. Since the oldest copy and the new facility to return the same message, I suspect (just a guess), a software problem, perhaps prefs or other files copied over the old installation.

  Can someone help me understand what it is and how to install PS successfully?

  Have you tried to screw up your Photoshop Prefs?  If you don't know, here is the way:

  /Users/ [username] / Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS settings/Adobe Photoshop CS3 Prefs.psp (you can access this folder by pressing the 'Option' key by clicking on 'Go' in the Finder menu)

  Once the trash, empty your Recycle Bin and reboot.  Unless the installation is totally corrupt, Photoshop should start normally.

  You can also set up another user account and see if you can run PS from there.

  The original installer of Lr2 is not compatible with OS X 10.6.x fortunately you have not not Lr2, rather download Lr2.6 http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4628 he should install without problem on your new hardware.

  IMO CAD software will work still better installed under one OS natively installed on a physical hardware but with the speed of the processors of our days and the amount of RAM available to the consumer software CAD systems can preform well in a virtualized environment.  The large and more complexed work is obviously performance will be degraded more quickly in a virtualized environment and then when it is running in native mode.  My recommendation would be to test it on a Virtual Machine first and not to activate Windows or CAD software, if possible until you have tested and feel that its performance is satisfactory when virtualized.

  Also note if you use CAD software is activated using a calculated material hash and phones home so if you install it natively under Windows installed via Boot Camp and then choose to run the partition Boot Camp in a Virtual Machine, you may encounter the problem of reactivation of product and may not be able to run in both environments.  I suggest strongly of what you discuss with the making of a CAD software that you want to use before you continue!

  It worked! I had done everything before that and had just abandoned. Thank you!

It downloaded fine and I can open the .dmg file, but now when I click on the application of installation I get the error message "setup initialization failed. I deleted the trial and downloaded the demo of Master Collection CS6 to see if the result was different... it wasn't. Received the same error message. I looked so other forums and I tried their methods to solve this problem, but I had no chance. Time is a bit of gasoline. Start school in a few days and a Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator class is difficult without Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator.

  I tried a new account and it failed.

  I seem to have found a workaround. I used the application related Manager HERE http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4774&fileID=4438 and my problems have been solved. I was able to install all of the CS6 programs with this Manager. Must have been send me corrupted files or the Manager itself was corrupt.

  Everything downloaded, installed and updated perfectly. I didn't make you I had any trace of deleted previous attempts of my computer and then downloaded the app handler.

  Very weird solution but I am glad it worked. Thank you.
