Studio Dell 1558 driver crashing display

Hello

I have the dell studio 1558 laptop. It has the graphics card ATI radeon 5470. I had installed windows 8 a few days ago. It worked fine for a few days and then display driver started to break up, message display "display driver has stopped working and was recovered. A few times, the screen is completely blank (error on blue screen sometimes happens) and when I reboot, nothing appears on the screen (not even the BIOS), but other materials such as fan, cd player are started. After trying to reboot several times, it starts randomly. I tried to install different versions of the display driver and same BIOS downgraded to the previous version. It works very well for a few days and again same problem starts. Now, I have installed windows 7 yet once again, the problem still remains.
Can you please suggest me the solution.
(Also, can someone say on what display drivers are loaded during startup. This is the default or installed by the operating system)

Even after following the steps, pilot dropped again overnight. So I performed the steps and the problem has not occurred since the last 5 days.

  • After crossing the dump (using Nirsoft BlueScreenView) files, I found that files 'atikmpag.sys' and "atikmdag.sys" had caused the blue screen errors. Most of the time, it was 'atikmpag.sys"that caused the accident.
  • Then I uninstalled the ATI graphics drivers via the control panel (ATI Catalyst Install Manager) and restarted.
  • Even after uninstalling the drivers, files above were present in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers. I think that these files have been deleted. So, I renamed them and restarted.
  • Then I updated the display driver via device-> display adapter Manager. He installed the graphics drivers. (above the files have installed again)

It worked for me and do not update Dell and AMD sites, although I always use Visual settings for best performance.

Thank you.

  • Studio Dell 1558 dead?

Here I am once more because of the terrible studio 1558.

Yesterday artifacts began to appear on the screen of the studio 1558, when you use firefox: they were like points green and red lines on the screen etc. I was using ubuntu, so the first thing I did was start in windows, but after a few minutes, the same problem occurred (which of course forced me to shut down the computer by pressing the button on the right, since the operating system has not replied at all).

Now when I turn on the laptop I mean the rotation of the disk and the operating system seems to start but I don't see anything! The LCD isn't even worth a turn on!

I don't know if it has nothing to do with overheating; while I always had problems with this laptop, when the artificats appeared I was not doing something that would strees the gpu, after I have always followed my temperatures.

I'm afraid it has something to do with the gpu bios, but I have no idea how the flash without even access windows. That's why I ask:

    (a) If you could point me in the right direction (flashing the bios through a USB? there may be a combination of special keys for that...)

    (b) If you could suggest me how to get a new laptop of dell, or at least can you tell me that I should talk with (please no phone number since I live in Italy) because even thoug my warranty is expired, this laptop has caused me and many others still nothing but boredom beacause it's horrible Design!

  • HP Envy 15 Display Driver crashing into some games

    Hello

Since I bought the HP Envy 15, I had problems with the AMD display driver. First of all, I went to fixed graphics in the bios. When I use the AMD GPU, I have random crashes while playing a few games (only tested Minecraft that runs on Java). I have the latest version 64 bit java, so this isn't the cause of this problem. Accidents appear at random times with no errors except the bubble "AMD display driver crashed and successfully recovered" to appear at the bottom right. When the driver crashes, I have to restart all programs that use the GPU because they do not work properly unless I have restart them. I have already discussed this problem with the HP Instant Support (Chat ID: 39947114) and I was told that the R & D of HP will be notified to soon release an update of the driver. I don't know if the R & D was notified or if the driver is going to get an update. If all goes well, there is a solution to this problem.

After the recommendation from someone, I installed the Drivers UNIFIL of Leshcat and noticed significant performance improvements. They also set the crash issues I had with HP drivers. If anyone has problems with AMD + Intel graphics cards, I recommend a look at the drivers of UNIFIL.

  • Display driver Crash on Surface Pro 3 i7 HD5000

Used to work GREAT on my 3 Surface Photoshop Pro. Suddenly in the last week the display driver crashes with the hanging of sniffer GPU, and there is more no touchscreen support in Photoshop. What could happen? The only thing I noticed on my machine to update was Photoshop.

Just a quick note to say that we're investigating this now (see the above Kevin post) and I have contacted Intel and MS so that we can work together to try to minimize this problem for users.  This question is very similar to what we have seen in the past on the old systems of Surface Pro 2.

With a little luck, we will have a solution or the solution in place until the updated drivers are provided by default in the operating system, install on these devices.

    Thank you

  • Satellite A660 - wen of video streaming VGA driver crash

Satellite A660 - my computer hangs and the VGA driver crashes and then recovers when I watch Youtube or any other streaming site. I think that there is a problem with VGA drivers. I have Windows 7 64 bit. Rarely, windows get completely frozen and must be started cold.

    Friends of ideas?

    Hey,.

Yes, sometimes I read on these issues here in the forum, but the solution is simply: update the display driver!

You can download the latest drivers for your laptop from Toshiba's official website:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

But before installing the latest version I recommend to remove the old first and restart your laptop. Then you install the most recent.

    I hope it works :)

  • Satellite A210 ATI Mobility Radeon driver crashes

    Hi all

Recently I had to update my graphics driver because one couldn't DirectDraw. So I uninstalled the old driver and downloaded the driver from the Toshiba website (the driver prescribed by thosiba for A210-10Y).

I installed the new driver, which went well. I had to reboot my system and then the driver worked fine, but the problem now is to s uncertain time (during playback of games or what so ever) the screen goes green, blue, gray and yellow with stripes.

When this happens, the whole system grinds to stop and there is no way to regain control of the system (CTRL + ALT + DEL or windows button does not). The only solution is to reboot the system with the button ON / OFF.

Here is the information that I could find, with problem-solving option on vista, so much, that this program is not able to give me a clear answer, other than to download the latest drivers from ATI or Toshiba site.

Could someone please give me a solution, I'm looking for answers on the internet for 7 days now, and still I was not able to find a solution.

I tried different ways to install the drivers, uninstall them and reinstall them, even tried the Modder and the new CCC 8.1 program

I thank very you much in advance! :)

Not easy to say why the graphics card driver crashes maybe there is a problem of compatibility with different games, who knows

Maybe you can try to install a graphics driver on 3rd part as www.omegadrivers.net site

But note; Some people in this forum, said that these drivers can be used only at your own risk because these drivers are not tested by the notebook computer manufacturing.

  • Reinstall Vista upgrade Express of Business to ultimate after hard drive crash

When I bought my first computer at Dell, it had Windows Vista Business installed on the computer.  Shortly after the purchase, I bought an upgrade on Amazon.com to upgrade to Vista Ultimate.  I remember that when I upgraded, a file has been downloaded and executed on the computer that has provided the additional functionality of Vista Ultimate.  The file is stored in my service digital locker.  I think I have the product key that was used after the upgrade (it of in my notes, but does not match the original product code which is on the side of my computer).  In any case, the hard drive crashed and I reinstalled windows vista professional, on the recovery provided by Dell CD.  However, I can't seem to find a way to present a new request the ultimate improvement to the computer (it only gives me vista professional).  Now that the digital locker is gone, I can't recover this file and emails informing her service digital locker went went to an old email account I'm not "check very often (I located the email I was trying to research on mine)."

Can someone provide me with instructions on how to apply a full new vista computer?  If I think I have the product key for the upgrade, is it possible for this punch in and extract the upgrade feature?  Thanks in advance!

  • Hard drive crash, have no CD, they have a product key what do I do

My son gateway computer hard drive crashed. I'll have to buy a new hard drive.  I don't have vista or bridge or other recover CD.  I have the license of vista product key.  I don't want to buy a new copy of vista.  Gateway wants to charge us just to ask a question, since the machine is out of warranty.  Ideas, suggestions? Is there an ISO somewhere?  The machine was Vista Home Premium 32-bit. Thank you.

You don't need to buy a new copy of Vista; an unnecessary expense.

Follow the advice of Carey to communicate with the gateway: http://support.gateway.com/support/default.aspx

    And read this:

    Vista DVD:

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

Or borrow a good DVD (not Dell, HP, etc.) Vista.
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

  • My system drive crashed, but my emails were on another disk - how to make the old import Thunderbird (newly installed) files on the other disk?

My system (c) drive crashed and I had to buy a new one. Former Thunderbird has been installed on the D: drive and my emails are also stored on this drive, but I don't know where. Under "Program Files - Mozilla Thunderbird" on the D: drive there are a lot of files and directories, but none of them are very large, so they cannot possibly contain gigabytes of old emails. Now, I installed new Thunderbird to the new C: drive and I do not know how to get the old emails is displayed. Please, suggest...

"Normally, all your data is stored under the username C:\Users\"your windows "\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\profiles\"something.default"\ (this profile directory usually ends with .default)

Under C:\Program Files\ Thunderbird\ are only program files, no data.

    CHANGE ("C:\Program Files (x 86) \Thunderbird" If you have a 64-bit pc)

Do a search of ImapMail or mail (a directory inside your profile) on your old drive.
