• Error c1900101-30018 persists even with troubleshooting

  Hey everybody,

  So it has been a long struggle for me to find a way to install the upgrade of Windows 10 on my laptop. Originally, I had the darndest time get the update to download, and it turns out WAS BLOCKING ITS OWN DOWNLOAD WINDOWS... so I had to pull the stupid firewall so that updates to work.

  So now I'm on that all error code c1900101-30018 familiar, only proposed solutions have not worked on my system. I'm running a Lenovo E-450 with 320 IDE hard drive AMD APU.

  What still bothers me is the troubleshooting never explain the error, they say just 'do' and assume the fix will work. Maybe it does, but understand why the problem you would have saved me hours of frustration (i.e. having a rights issue of privilege means reset WU does nothing to solve the problem).

  I tried the following:

  (2) manually disabled the WUAURSERV via the command prompt and remove

  -Been disabled via the WUAURSERV command prompt and deleted DataStore + download of files in the folder % systemroot%/SoftwareDistribution.
  -Otherwise, added also to rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution "SoftwareDistribution.old".
  (3) restored to the first available point
  (4) reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium
  5) updated the Windows Update Agent
  (6) used the Windows 7 FIXIT to reset the Windows Update components and solve problems
  (7) attempted to components reset Windows Update.

  (8) uninstalled all my anti-virus, disabled the Windows version as well.

  (9) off all my USB ports, BIOS modified for a quick start, you can also disabled number of USB functions as well as ran a clean boot after disabling all non-WIndows running programs.

  (10) have used the Windows support tool and accepted (as it always should have been) acceptance prior and selected the type of upgrade that I wanted.

  It did not work. I don't see anything else that I need to disable or turn off the case, and now every time that I reboot, Windows tells me that it needs to access some components and wants me to try to restart and reinstall... still restart or reinstall otherwise gives the same message.

  I'm at my wits end here... what else do I do?

  How can I make sure that on my Lenovo I assure that Windows 10 Upgrade can in fact change the components he needs to finish the upgrade? Sad week for me.

• NETGEAR ProSafe VPN Firewall SRXN3205 and port forwarding?

  Hi, this is a long shot, but I'm pulling my hair out at this point and can be a bit over my head, as I am new on network

  Small short story, I have two servers, one is the NAS box (IE if I connect via the internet to the site via public IP network from home, I get it that site says 'my actions' I insert login and pass and get access to them.)
  That is, everything is peachy.

  There is a hierarchy on incoming service table, which is normal. I see 4 services added using "ANY" (ALL use any port number) you will need to remove/disable these because of the rule of the hierarchy on the table, all other services will be ignored when EVERYTHING is used. What is the port number used by the NAS Server? I don't see a port defined to access NAS. Try disabling services by using "ANY" and try again by adding the translation to the port number of the NAS.

  Read the 'Yellow Book' on Windows XP for Dummies, I learned that if you do not disable the windows firewall and other protection, if you defragment, you tend to gum the system.  I just be reformatted with a Home Edition CD and I have the SP2 and SP3 updates (134!), as well as Adobe Reader and Flash Player, and a few other basic programs installed.  Does anyone know a quick way to disable MS SecEss and the firewall of Windows XP?  I guess its easy just go to the firewall in the control panel and to stop him for now.  Still to learn, people.  Thanks a lot for all ideas.  Dave Becker

  Throw this book stupid right now. Do not disable the firewall Windows or Security Essentials. These things protect your computer. Is there seriously a book published there that tells you to turn off the antivirus and firewall!

• How can I put the Windows XP firewall in a port configuration 'allow all' and only block some ports?

  Without going into the details of why I need to do this, I'm putting the firewall of Windows XP in one allow all the configuration of ports and only refuse some ports I have in a list.

  I train this script via the command-line batch with the netsh firewall add portopening command.  From what I've read, if enabled the firewall denies all traffic and only allows ports with exceptions, so through batch scripts, I opened all the 65 000 + ports TCP and UDP, essentially with the firewall turned on but in a configuration of "allow all the»  I don't deny the 100 or so ports to my list that I want blocked after they are all open.

  This strategy seems to work, but the problem I waited and I now see is that svchost.exe takes 50% of my CPU time, have to deal with constantly these firewall rules.

  "From what I've seen on Windows XP, there is no way to have the firewall ON, and in a configuration of" allow all the "" because the XP firewall may not have defined port ranges, they must be defined one by one.  It looks like Windows Vista or 7 would be much easier because the firewall has got a re vamp of advanced features.

  Does anyone have a suggestion on how to realize this "allow all", deny some' strategy?  I know it's a strange use of the Windows Firewall, so let's please jump in front of a 'why would you do this incredibly stupid thing?"messages.

  Hi, my mom 50 year's stupid had on ebay and clicked on some supposed Government called DCHS, site and she got a virus. She knows almost nothing about computers and initially only affected his user account. Now, he is touching mine!

  I know it can be frustrating, take a deep breath and compose yourself.

  Hey guys. Been having a lot of problems with Windows 7 64-bit today. At first, I thought it was average PC problems, but it turns out (according to malwarebytes and security essentials) that I picked up some nasty viruses.   I use a fixed IP address, which is given by my ISP and access my ESXi host. In my configuration, only 1 IP access for guests using the vsphere client. I tried just sure my host and I think I made a big mistake because now my ISP changed my IP fixed without informing me and they cannot redeploy back. So I can't access my host now. Apparently I forgot to add an IP more towards the security profile and I locked myself. I see the host's screen if I want to add another IP or remove the IP of the host itself screen restriction. Is this possible? I can't find option to do this. SSH was disabled and limited also with the same IP address. Lock mode has not been activated. I have 2 important virtual machines running on the host's hard drive so I don't want to reset the configuration. I need suggestions please if you know another way through the host's screen. I feel really stupid not having any other intellectual property on the security profile. Do I have to reset the configuration to set everything back?

  Go to your directly access UI (that grey and yellow) and click Alt + F1. You will enter esxi local shell. You can enter the command: esxcli network firewall ruleset allowedip add and add a new IP.

  I could not install the new CC on my network works so I install a hotspot on my phone and downloaded with no problem... I've switched back to my network to download apps, but they fail with the error (-60) "download seems corrupted...
