Substitute ports - No Warning - maximum

Hi all

IM using ESX 3i 3.5.0 169697, when it is configured the farm ended up with the default port for VMS 56 groups. I realized that some machines have been moved by the DRS and spread in one of the 60 machines of our guests.

As consecuence, 4 machines lost network.

Is it possible that ESX can base its desition of vmotion based on port groups? Or at least warn that the connection will be lost!

Thank you!

No, unfortunately it will not take the ports available in the account.

  • I can parallel two solid state relay ports for a maximum current of 1 AMP USB-6525?

    Hello

I plan use USB-6525 to change a PSU 7VDC/1 AMP DC.

Is it safe to use in this way?

If not, is there any other USB device can provide 1 channel AMP relay?

  • Port conflict warning

    Hello

I'm new to OAF and my jdeveloper became very slow this morning.
Until yesterday it worked fine, and I have not done anything since then.

I get the popup when running the jdev which I've never seen before.

"Port conflicts were detected, and the ports affected were automatically reassigned to available ports... »

and it takes a long time to run the page.

    What could be the problem?...

I think that some jdev double instance is running in the background in your system.

1 close your jdeveloper and go to Task Manager
    2. check if there is any processes running as "javaw" & "jdevW", then kill them all.
3 start the jdeveloper and try to run the page.

  • Limit media on vcse UDP ports

Hi there, in a recent deployment of a highway v8.1 my client asked I have limit incoming ports for media on the internet as much as possible. They bought 10 calls of course so I figure it would be 8 dynamic ports per call (for video, audio, and content bfcp/FECC pair). So I reduced the area crossing range ar 80 UDP ports, sufficient to meet a full scenario. However, vcse ceases to throw up errors that State is not enough ports for the authorized number of calls. He falls not complained until I have increase the number in port at around 3000 (I don't remember the exact number). I do not understand why I would need to open a multitude of ports for a maximum of 10 calls from crossing. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks Gurp

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for the clarification. The VCS-E, I tested, I have 50 licenses covered call. So if VCS - E can use up to 40 ports per license 50 x 40 = 2000.

    I can't configure the VCS-E for 50 000-52001 - the smallest she'd go between 50 000 - 52, 399.

This would amount to 48 ports per license.

It would be nice just to get a final clarification on this point.

    Thank you

  • How is it that I can ping between ESXi vmkernel interfaces with the sizes of package exceeding the value set in my passage upstream and one located in my vmkernel port group itself?

I have a 10 GB dell powerconnect 8024f the switch and the firmware is OLD, but the port config shows maximum frame size = 9000 to all cable ports

2 guests ESXi 5.5 wired, build 1331820, put each host computer network is managed by a single port dual qlogic 8150 ANC

When I connect to my windows VM to check my new 10 GB connectivity (it is configured for jumbo mtu = 9000 frames) and ping-l 8190 against ESXi vmkernel interface that was MTU of 1500, I get an answer without any packet loss... How can it be if the port is configured for only 1500 MTU?  I thought that the two vmkernel port group and vswitch properties must have 9000 mtu defined, it appears that the vswitch properties override the port group properties.

But I know I must be missing something, a few important concepts, somewhere, because when I connect to ESXi via ssh I can ping devices with values greater than 8190 and not just windows virtual machines that reside on the same host where the ping uses the internal bus, but I am referring to the connections of the host of other ESXi on the switch management.

In summary - how the VMkernel does ping and response to pings of bigger sizes greater than the value of the switch upstream?   and why do ping with large packets get answers when the vmkernel port group is always set at 1500, is this a bug or is this feature obsolete?   I remember specifically in ESXi5 that I had to configure the vmkernel port group and the vswitch for this property to work.

Unless you specify "Don ' t fragment" (-f for Windows) you will be able to use any size package successfully.

For ESXi, take a look at Troubleshooting ESXi Jumbo Frames.

  • Difficulties of load

Okay so here's the thing. I had a few problems charging my iPhone 6 lately (the 4-5 days to be precise) and I discovered that it imposes incredibly slow. He is never charged that slow before, he'd only 20-30% to the top in 3-4 hours. So, I thought first of all that I have discovered where the problem comes from. It is not by the USB port (lightning loader or whatever its current name) and that the adapter is actually the problem. Have not had time to buy a new adapter and plugged with my Lenovo (2A) adapter and it costs excellently. So, I wanted to ask if it is safe to charge my phone with my Lenovo adapter for awhile and he won't be a problem?

You can plug the Lightening for USB cable into any USB power source that you like and it should be good.  The output of the power brick is USB, which by international standards is limited to 5 v.  The current can vary between different USB ports, but the iPhone itself regulates the current used for billing and it will no more use that is the maximum allowed.  As long your USB port at least puts this device-specific optimal amperage, the load will be optimal.  If she comes out higher amperage that the iPhone can use, it internally will regulate it anyway so it does not exceed the limits specific to the device.  If the port unless the maximum intensity of the iPhone can use, and then it still load, just more slowly that it might otherwise (and it would not be able to charge in all during active use, if the current is much lower in optimal condition of the device).

In fact, this is the reason why USB output power supplies have become almost industry standard shape brick of power for mobile devices.  No matter what power brick, you use to any device as long as the output is in line with the international standards for the USB power output.  And with the international standards of SMART lithium-ion/polymer batteries, the device regulates the charging circuit of the battery (which is part of the SMART Li battery standards).  So you can charge your iPhone with a brick of power that uses USB as the output, or the USB port of any car or any computer USB port, or any external battery or Charger solar or another that uses a standard USB output port.

I would add even the setting warn that the bricks as the 900 Lenovo's Yoga is also very good.  Here is the automatic detection and have two modes - 20V 3. 25 a, or USB 5.2V standard and 2 a output.  If you plug it into the port orange charging specific Lenovo on Lenovo product, they shot at the increase in production.  If you connect any other devcie using standard USB inputs, the brick default Lenovo weaker output parameters.

  • Tecra M2 DVI output

I have a new monitor for my TECRA M2.
    It is a SAMSUNG 213 T with a resolution of 1600 x 1200.

I have no problem to configure the resolution using the analog channel, but when I try to use the DVI via advanced port replicator, the maximum allowed by the nVidia Driver for monitors to DVI flat screen screw is only 1280 x 1024!

Is this a problem with the driver, bios, or port replicator?

It seems strange that my old Tecra 9000 with the old port replicator, works OK with DVI 1600 x 1200
(also if the full screen with DVD refresh is a bit slow, but it is another problem!)

    Thank you
    Ezio

    Hello

What port Replicator do you use?

  • DIO

    Hello

I'm busy with the NI 6509 USB device simulation, my goal is to configure 6 ports (48 lines) as input, and the other port 6 as output and display the result on the front panel, as an array of Boolean 1 d of 48 read and write lines, where I can switch the switches to write data is 1 line or port or 48 all lines at once and read the result on the Boolean LEDS or 1 line or port, or all the 48 lines at a time.

I am aware that I have the USB-6509 physical device to read the entry by connecting the output to the input by using cables or accessories that shipped with, but my only worries were:

    (1) when I ran the simulation I can write values as binary numbers, but in what order are they written to ports or bloodlines, it is first LSB or MSB wrt to the line 0/0 Port device.

    (2) because the outlet may not be connected to the input of thought software, the values written will be the same, or read in the same order (MSB first etc) during a test physically because when I ran the simulation, the entrance was just read (counting in binary values left most bit first of all, from line to line on a per port basis.) Is it by default a counter entry when there is no hardware connected and if that is the case why he should count or read values through three ports (line0_32 etc) IE it relies on all ports of three at a time for example [11111110 11111110 1111110] to 255 decimal. If it should not be [11111110 00000000 00000000] and then rolls over nests port if the first port is full with [11111111].

    (3) is it possible to write or read from 6 ports (48lines) at a time and see the result in a 1 D array (48 LEDS 1row) boolean or otherwise because in the VI/o device, you can select a maximum of 4 ports (lines0_32) at a time and if you have read/write and display more than 32 lines both how you do it.

Why can't OR add a polymorphic VI of read/write which can read or write up to 96 lines in the case of devices OR-6509.

In any case thanks for reading my boring long doubt, I'll appreciate any response.

    Rgds

    Paul.

    Hello

    Thanks for the idea.

What I meant by 'Device of e/s VI'; is the physical "DAQmx channel" function on the front panel, where you can select a line or port or the lines_0-32, etc. to be entered or output of a device.

I was tyring to say you are limited to the fixed option to Select in the drop-down arrow a maximum of 32 lines to write or read at the same time , but it is possible to read/write 32-bit morethan by selecting a line or port in turn to amount to more than 32 lines.

In other words, there are a no options to select or configure lines_0-48 or 96-lines_0 to perform operations of read/write in a move even if it can be done by selecting each line or port or a maximum of 32 lines at a time.

    Rgds

  • e7240 & docking station resolution problem

I have my e7240 connected to a PR03X docking station.  My screen (Samsung U28D590) has a recommended resolution of 3840 X 2160, but when I am connected to the via Display Port, then the maximum available resolution is 2560 x 1440.

I have the latest drivers installed Intel.  Any ideas why I can't get the full resolution.

Hi, I have the same laptop and I have some disappointing news - Intel's HD4400 cannot handle 4K of the HDMI 1.4 port or DP 1.2. This is set out on page care Intel for processor, whether it is the ultrabook i5 or i7 series. Dell it has capped at QHD I think on the software side, although the integrated graphic card should be able to get out a maximum of 3200x2000@60Hz.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cisco 220 - 48P

    Dear Bro

I'm working on the Cisco SMB partner. I'm not clear about PoE + on this Cisco.

Incidentally kindly please give me what port number that support PoE + Switch Cisco 220 - 48 p.

    Better compliance

    Chan

    The data sheet States:

Switches are supported 802.3af and 802.3at standard pre Cisco (legacy) PoE on port 1 to port 4 with a maximum power of 30W per port; switches are supported 802.3af and standard pre Cisco (legacy) PoE on other RJ-45 ports with a maximum power of 15.4 W per port

This applies to all models compatible PoE; the maximum number of PoE ports feeds simultaneously is determined by the total budget of PoE for the switch and the requirement of the real power of the devices of PD

The total power available for PoE switch is as follows:

    Model name

    Dedicated to PoE power

Number of Ports that support the PoE

    SF220 - 24 P

    180 W

    24

    SF220 - 48P

  • Reset password on VCS Starter Pack x7.2

    Hello!!

I had little problem with the remote control of the VCS Starter Pack... I have only access root via the serial number.

Could you tell me, what command could you help me change the admin name and password for the web access? How I understand it, the commands of version 6 does not work fo 7.2.

I did already try with aproach via pwrec but for some reason any, that it did not work. So I only need CLI command for version 7.2

    Kind regards.

pwrec should also work, but works only in shortly after a restart.

As you say you have root access, you can simply set the admin password yourself.

Access the VCS as root, type:

    admin passwd

    ~ # passwd admin

    Enter new UNIX password:

    Retype new UNIX password:

    passwd: password updated successfully

You will be asked to enter your new password twice, and there you go :-)

The following xcommand path appear to be removed from the current version:

    SystemUnit AdminAccount [1..15] Password:

Defines the password of an administrator user who can login to the VCS web interface. The maximum plaintext length is 16 characters, which will then be encrypted.

Example: xConfiguration SystemUnit AdminAccount 1 Password: "password123"

    SystemUnit Password:

Defines the password for the default 'admin' account. This account is used to log in to the VCS via Telnet, HTTP(S), SSH, SCP, and on the serial port. The maximum plaintext length is 16 characters, which will then be encrypted.

    Example: xConfiguration SystemUnit Password: "password123"

And of course, there is also the way to factory default your vcs.

For more information, see the vcs administration guide

  • ESW-520-8 p-K9 POE capabilities

Can the ESW-520-8 p-K9 provide enough POE to take in charge 7 PVC2300 cameras?  If not, what are its limits?

    Hello

The ESW 520 8 ports offers a maximum power of 15.4 to any 10/100 port; Total of 60W.

The ESW 540 8 ports offers a maximum power of 15.4 to any port 10/100/1000; Total 123W.

By the PVC2300 datasheet, each camera has a consumption of 10W.

If you need 7 cameras supported, you can consider the 8-port ESW540. Another option is to power the cameras via the external power adapter, assuming that a power source is nearby.

    I hope this helps.

There is no downtime when you change quantity "vmware max-ports" a port profile. It can be done during production.

You can also create a new profile of port with a test of the virtual machine and change the "vmware max-ports' If you want warm and ferrets.
