Subtype and data types

Hi all

We can overload subprogrammes that setting differ in the number, order, and type of family data. But impossible to overload if the parameter differs only in the void type.

If I see the standard package, I get
subtype types BINARY_FLOAT is NUMBER;
subtype BINARY_DOUBLE is NUMBER;

But I am able to overload the two procedures, we have a parameter types binary_float and binary_double other. They are of subtype of the same data type. that is the number. So, how is it possible. Also, most of the subtypes have no difference. So, why are there these number of subtypes? Oracle defines subtypes as data type with some sort of constraint on the base data type, but is valid for all? for example, smallint, and decimal.

type of NUMBER is NUMBER_BASE;
subtype of FLOAT is NUMBER;
ACTUAL subtype is FLOAT;
subtype 'DOUBLE PRECISION' is FLOAT;
INTEGER subtype is NUMBER (38.0).
subtype INT is INTEGER;
subtype SMALLINT is NUMBER (38.0).
DECIMAL subtype is NUMBER (38.0).
DIGITAL subtype is DECIMAL;
DEC subtype is DECIMAL;

ANSI SQL/DS and DB2 data types

The SQL statements that create tables and clusters allows also ANSI data types and products IBM SQL/DS and DB2 data types. Oracle recognizes the ANSI or IBM data type name that differs from the Oracle database data type name. It converts the data type for the equivalent Oracle data type, stores the Oracle data type under the name of the column data type and stores the data in the column in the data type Oracle based on the conversions listed in the following tables.

But BINARY_FLOAT and BINARY_DOUBLE types are each defined as unique data types (see table 2-1 in this doc).

Because they are unique Oracle data types, they can be overloaded.

  • CfSQLtype and date type oracle

    I have a problem with a SQL Oracle when part of the where clause is:
    and INSPECTION_DATE = < cfqueryparam value = "" #Form.INSPECTION_DATE # "cfsqltype = 'cf_sql_DATE' >"
    It does not, so the SQL is not updated as I expect. I also tried the cf_sql_TIMESTAMP type, but it does not correspond to either. An Oracle date is actually a date and timestamp, but it does not resemble the ColdFusion TimeStamp. No one knows what look like the acutally cf_sql_DATE and cf_sql_TIMESTAMP, so I can use an Oracle to_char() function make them match?
    Thanks for your help.
    Scott

    If your Oracle files have something else that zeros in the time portion of the datefield that you won't get a match because the cold fusion will be zeros. There are at least two ways to handle this:

    With the functions, that is to say
    where to_char (date field oracle) = dateformat (date of cold fusion)

    or with an exanded where clause, that is to say
    where oracle_date_field > = cold_fusion_date_you_want
    and oracle_date_field<>

  • The data type double in CT that is converted to PDM

    Hi all
    In short, to be able to remove channels and groups of a PDM file, I convert the file to a tdm, delete channel or group storage using screws and the convert to PDM. The problem is when tdms is converted to tdm, double data types (64-bit) became simple types (32-bit). Original tdms file has double inside, but CT and resulting tdms files have singles.
    Attachment VI made things I mentioned above. After execution of the it, I open tdms - 1.tdms in Excel with importing tdm (v3.3.0.0) and data type is DT_DOUBLE. But in the files tdm.tdm and PDM - 2.tdms, data types are DT_FLOAT. So the question is, is there a way to prevent duplicate converted to singles?

    Note: I convert the files tdms tdm, screw that removes channels and storage groups do not work with the PDM format.
    p.s. I'm on LV2011.

  • How can I dynamically select the shared Variable API programming data type?

    I am trying to create a configuration of open connections of variable shared using the programming API. It seems to me that the cleanest way to do would be to put one "open and check" routine in a loop, then call it for each variable in the library.

    The question that I am running is that I have different types of data in my library (to help a server Modbus i/o and data types 'boolean' and 'single' in my library.) How can I dynamically select the data type of the shared variable API?

    Hi Bill,

    You don't have to delete the files.  Choose the NAVIGATOR menu "settings > My DataFinder > reset... '. "can clilck on the UPPER part of the two buttons, one called"reset the index.  Which will remove all records in database and re-index all of your data files.  If you one of these properties have already optimized, set their State not optimized before resetting the index, otherwise the optimized property data types will persist.

    If this does not help, then the problem could be in the use that you use.

  • Get the name and the data type into an object?

    Hello

    I would like to know if there is a way to get the names and the types of data encapsulated in an object of labview?

    For example, let's say I make a simple object, called myObject to be commonplace, with private data: myObjectName (string), myObjectValue (int 32) (etc.)

    So, how to build a method to return the type of the data of myObjectValue, or infact back the names and types of all data in the object field, which could be a lot?

  • number and date of type storage and null values

    Hi, I read that the date type consumes 7 bytes on the disc when it is preserved.

    It is also true for the value null in date type or the space for a null value in the column of type date is then reduced and equal to 1 byte?

    What about nulls (x) number?

    How can I check to make sure?

    Thank you

    Columns of NULL values using either no space (if they are physically at the end of the line), or 1 byte if not.

  • Short property Type and Date of the reading system

    Hi friends,

    We have a requriement for loading data in short which is of type 'Date' and we should be able to sort by date as well.

    Also, we have an obligation to create a property by reading the date system.

    Please indicate what changes are needed?

    We have the data in the format 12/11/2013, I tried to create a property by its name "Date" and "Datetime" type and it mapped to the source data, but it does not appear in app REF.

    If we change the data format(11/12/2013) above source to a different format? If so, what changes are needed?

    Also, for the 2nd condition, I guess we can add a manipulaotr, but please inform on why the property is not displayed in Ref app?

    Please note that we donot use latitude.

    Kind regards

    Shreyas

    Take a look in the fundamental development Guide, there is a specific format for the Date and time properties they need to conform to the.

    A simpler approach is to reformat YYYYMMDD (so 20131211) either a manipulator XML or in your code retrieves data, set the property as Type = digital and then sort by there.

  • Oracle DW and necessity of date type.

    Vast majority of designing data warehouses use the granularity of the fact to the date level table. In oracle, you can use only the data type of date (which is not really date rather datatime) to represent the date in truncating the time part of it.
    But it allocates even 7 bytes for headaches from it. One of the competitions of this Oracle the true DATE type that takes just 3 bytes to store the value of type date. You can imagine how much storage space you can save using 3 bytes instead of 7 paintings done great. I think that Oracle needs to come with a similar option soon. It will help a lot in performance and the use of disk space.

    Not really relevant to this forum. The title of the forum clearly States ' * + don't post Product - Related Questions here + * ".

    As to the question that you raised - RDBMS Oracle supports advance user-defined data types. You can easily implement a data byte 3 type date personalized if you wish.

  • Import XML and bad data type

    Hi all!

    I have a form, I want to import xml data.

    In the xml data file: when I put a string in a numeric field (error) and the i value import data in my form:

    Acrobat don't tell me there is an error in 'format', but rather the value 0 (zero) value is put is the field.

    Is there a way (early event) to detect a data format error in the xml file?

    Thank you

    Not that I know of... .He is trying to bind the to imbound field in the form field and if it can you see your data... otherwise it will not appear.

    It is assumed that the incoming data was validated against the schema before importation is made so avoid data type mismatches.

  • Data type of text is not displayed using SQL Server and ASP/VBScript

    Maybe someone help me with this because I used to use PHP/MySQL, but I use for this a Classic ASP/VBScript and MS SQL Server instance and I don't know that much. The scenario is I have an old site that was designed using html tables and I do a CSS/XHTML update on Visual design. As long as we are here, there are some pages that are dynamic and use a MS Access database and we thought it's a good time to upgrade from MS SQL Server (2005, to be exact). No time/money for bringing classic ASP VBScript in ASP .NET.

    Overall, the upgrade went fairly well, especially just to create a new connection to the DB in SQL Server in Dreamweaver after all the tables and data were migrated to SQL Server. Almost everything works as it should. A problem though.

    For some reason, the data of the data type 'text' in SQL Server is not appear (or sometimes appear). I even tried to recreate the recordsets and binds fresh data and the code is more or less identical to what we had before. Anyone know what's happening, or how I can get this data to show?

    I think that there is perhaps some simple and double quotes in the text data and which could be screwing things up. I was hoping there is only a simple function that I could apply the code, but as I said, I don't know.

    Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Your text field should be the last of your select statement, as
    its not stored in the table with the other data, its stored elsewhere,
    as a binary object, should be treated differently. Its common
    the migration of the access problem.

    If you need more of 8000 characters stick with him, otherwise use
    varchar (8000) or nvarchar (4000) If you need (limited unicode characters
    4,000 cos of the double byte characters)
