  • Support for Windows 2008 R2 in vCenter Server 2.5 U4 and 4.0

I'll have no problem creating models in both versions of vCenter Server. The question arises when you try to deploy the model to the Customization Wizard help. Under 4.0, it immediately comes up as not supported (7 64 windows server). Minus 2.5 U4, there is no tag for Windows 2008 R2 OS.

Support for this OS will be released in a next update on both vCenter servers (specifically the Customization Wizard)?

Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 is not supported with vSphere yet but experimental and should be supported subsequently released but they're working on it. You can run the wizard of customization with Windows 2008 however, here's how the instructions http://vinf.net/2009/07/09/how-to-deploy-a-windows-2008-server-from-a-template-with-vsphere/

  • Support for Windows 2008 R2

Based on the VMware compatibility page, I can see that Windows Server 2008 R2 is supported, but when I configure the "guest operating system" I see the BONES being listed as: "Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit) (experimental).  Is this correct?  We're not 4.0.0 build 208167 who I think is the latest version.  Thank you.

update your vCenter to U1, which will probably fix the problem

  • What NIC for Windows 2008?  E1000 or VMXNET 3?

In ESXi 4, Windows 2008 SMV seem to want the E1000 NIC model by default when you create a new. However, after reading the KB on this (http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1001805), is seems the 3 new VMXNET is supported for Windows 2008 (and Windows 2003 for that matter).

So, what is the best to use? It seems the VMXNET it the best choice because it has all the latest bells and whistles - but sometimes it's a bad thing also. The KB does not really say what to use, but rather what options are available... unless I forgot.

    Any advice?

    SB

WARNING: I have worked directly on Vmxnet3, so I'm probably biased.

I advise to use Vmxnet3. More than a simple saw the latest bells and whistles, his overhead is also smaller than e1000 (and therefore its performance are better) and perennial is that further improvements to virtualization will apply permanently above this one. The device was tested intensively for months and the drivers that we provide are of high quality.

I understand the reluctance to use a completely new device, but you will not be disappointed if you give it a try.

  • Creating a failover cluster Windows 2008 on ESX 3.5

    Hello

I would like to create a cluster Windows 2008 on ESX 3.5.  As I understand it browse the forums supporting parallel SCSI as a type of shared bus was abandoned for Failover Clustering in Windows Server 2008.  To enable clustering, you need to use iSCSI on a target server.  Additional costs of license option for the introduction of a target server.

Is ESX 3.5 update to support Windows 2008 failover clustering?  If so, when?

Is there another solution that involves no additional cost?  I watched StarWind but the free version does not give us enough resources that is necessary.

How ESX 4.0 supports Windows 2008 failover cluster?

    Thank you

    Brian

In ESX 3.5, you can do a 2008 failover cluster with a software initiator in the node Windows 2008.

    For ESX 4 no problem.

  • Support for Windows 10 in Qosmio X 70 - has

    Hello

I have a X 70-a, and according to the plan of Toshiba support, full support for Windows 10 only will be available January 31, 2016 ('coz that's what you get when you pay 1500-2000 euros for a cell phone, right?)

Any who tried to win 10 on a similar laptop? Personally, I don't see what is the hold up and do not understand why they need half a year to offer support because most of the drivers Windows 8.1 should be available (assuming that they were well written in the first place).

"That's what I get for a laptop of 1,500 euros" is exactly what I had in mind when searching for this Web site in order to get my windows 10 drivers only to find out that I am not on the priority of Toshiba.

Keep the windows 10 update has an option to restore your old windows for a month (available in recovery at startup menu), I took the plunge by installing Windows on my 770 - 13F X 10.

Here are the problems I encountered (I guess I'll find out later):

-Windows installed a bad driver for the wifi adapter (Qualcomm Atheros) that makes the BSOD on startup. I manually installed a Windows 8.1 driver found on a non official (atheros.cz) in safe mode, with a second PC and a USB key.
Win 10 then start over, but I can not activate wifi, both front panel and fn + F8 key for wifi doesn't seem to work. If anyone has a solution or just a hint...

-The main Win 10 Search bar doesn't seem to be functional. It's weird and annoying.

  • Technical support for Windows 7

I have a HP computer factory Windows 7 installed. Where can I get support for problems with Windows? Microsoft does not seem to give him, because it is an OEM license, but the HP technical support claim that they offer no support for Windows or!

Escalate the problem and ask for a Manager. The technical support people general HP still don't know the facts that they should. You are a paying customer, so keep pushing and demanding support under your warranty.

    Hi @Procats,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you cannot scan on Windows 10, with your HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer. I'm happy to discuss this issue scan for you!

    Please, try the following steps:

Check the connection of the printer on the network and troubleshoot any problems with the printer, router, installation or connection.
