Supposed to be hacked.

Last year, and just yesterday my MacBook Air posted a warning that my computer may have been hacked and

to call a phone number.  Yesterday, I called the number and I could swear that it was the same technology which sets

my computer last year.  Last year, I paid $200. to have Sophos Anti-virus installed.  The tech claims to be part of

Apple support team and I listened to his warning and realized it might be a scam as he told me that he was

I'm sorry that I paid $200. for something I didn't need.  After spending 45 minutes with him because he searched my

computer to a hacker, he showed me two entries which he said should be addressed for $300.  He was very

difficult not to accept his plan as he pushed and pushed.   However, I managed to not accept his offer.

This happened to someone else?  Thank you!!!

You have been cheated by a scammer, the first time, and now they're trying again. Anyone could choose randomly one of the thousands of normal files in OS X and then try to convince you that they are dangerous.

Unfortunately, you have allowed this crook direct access to your computer. It is unclear what they have installed, which could be a backdoor, keylogger or other software they could use to access your bank accounts and passwords site.

You have really no choice but to wipe the drive and reinstall the OS from scratch. Check manually back up your personal data, first. Once the operating system has been reinstalled, install your third party apps only from their original, legal source. Manually restore your personal data.

Yes, sometimes hundreds of times a day. These sites of this kind of block to the top of your browser are common. They are all scams. There is no software in the world who can tell what is on a remote computer via a web browser.

  • Why am I receiving calls supposely microsoft customer service about my computer being hacked?

When I get a call the guy on the phone told me that he works for Microsoft and it want let me know they get reports from my computer. The issue is on my pc was hacked. The guy offers to "help me". Of course I do not provide information ask him or give him remote access to my pc.  Why I get this call so often. This is something that Microsoft made normally? I need some answers. Thank you.

Calls are outside the jurisdiction of the country in which the calls are placed. This is why they do not stop.

Microsoft has no idea who is running Windows and who is not and certainly can't tell if your computer is infected with malware.

What you receive is scam calls from abroad callers get your name and phone number from telephone directories online and then call in the hope that there will be a gullible Windows user at the other end.

Please let your friends, family, work Associates abreast of what is happening and why it cannot be stopped...

  • My iCloud has been hacked... locks... ransom sought to unlock the PIN

I was watching a great show on my iPad when it went all of a sudden in the mode lock with the message:

    ***

    Lost IPad

Your device is locked.  To unlock email

    *********

    ***

My iPhone also presented the same message at the same time.

But a few seconds later, I received a phone call from a friend and was able to respond.  After the call, I was able to drag/unlock the phone and get to the screen where I went to find it my iPhone app and saw that my iPad has been marked as a device lost immediately.  I changed my password to iCloud something stronger (caps, lower case letters, symbols and numbers).

It is clear that, in time to my weak password (which was a combo of 4 lowercase letters and 4 numbers), my iCloud account was hacked and someone wanted to send me the address where I probably would be quoted a price to unlock my own device.

My iPad is stuck and I think I have to do a complete reset so that it prompts you to me for a network ID and iCloud wifi to unlock again.

Anyone else get similar warning?   I Googled that address infamous email and only one glance from a German site a few days ago with someone complaining about the same problem.

Something does not match. If someone has control of your account, I suppose they would have changed the password, if you have changed the password they have more control.

  • Does anyone can hack my computer asking me to right click on my computer, and then press Ctrl + r?

After a recent phone a supposed Technician Microsoft, where the person asked us to perform all kinds of things on our computer and we showed a list of all corrupt files, is it possible they are running malware on my computer?  I know that it was not clever to fall for her, but there was a lot of things now and we just took panic.

If someone could give some tips would be great as we are concerned, lose us all the files or have accounts hacked etc.

    Thank you
    Clodagh

It depends on what you entered in the box run after you press CTRL + R.

As a general rule, these scammers will tell you type "eventvwr" after pressing CTRL + R and then scared you to have you look at all the 'warnings' and 'Mistakes' or they have type you a command and magically know what is on your computer.  See, for example, this thread Microsoft Answers:

She forced me to type "cmd" in run and when the command prompt came I type in "assoc". When the list of information showed she was reading on line 3, ID my CSLID and all the numbers that followed were accurate.

As long as you don't allow the caller to access your computer (usually by LogMeIn or some similar site and enter a password, they give you), you're probably OK.

  • A supposed employee call Windows

This afternoon, I received a phone call from someone who doesn't know my name and had only my phone #. In my view, that he was East Indian. He said that it is Windows, and there was a problem with my computer. He asked me to turn on my computer, and it would help me.  Red flags went up there, and I refused to comply.  I said I was able to speak to him is no longer and hung up my phone.  I'm sure it was a hacker attemptting to access all my information, which included bank statements and accounts of credit card, etc.  A I had reason to suppose that it was a scam?  I would like your answer.  Thank you

Yes, Marty is certainly a scam, we had a massive influx of discussions about this. They fish for your information and whatever you do, give all of the information for them.

  • The hacked account-related questions

I have an account in NASCAR & a message from the web page comes up & tells me that my account has been hacked.  I click on OK or a red X in the upper right corner of the message & goes on the site of pirates, I suppose.  I need to know what to do.  I can't go on my other browser on this p / & I don't seem to have any problems.

What I did on secondary browser to this Web site has been to change my password.  I managed, but I can't always on my account on browser I.E. 9 without the hack message arise.  What could I do?

Please reset your browser to factory settings.

  • My hotmail (msn) account hacked and is now entirely in Arabic.

My account has been hacked and friends starts to receive applications for the money I was supposed to be stuck somewhere in the world. After changing the password, I checked on the account, and it's entirely in Arabic. I tried in different ways to go back to English, no luck and I don't read Arabic too, I no longer receive mail for this account.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem? In addition to the cancellation of the account!

    Hello

    Remember to change your password.

The problem is that these will be in Arabic, so you need to use Bing or Google Translate.

Hotmail - top right Options - more Options - Customize Hotmail - language.

    Bing Translator

    Google Translate

At Hotmail commands and paste them into those.

These methods to update your WiFi (wireless) and the interface NETWORK (wired network) drivers. Also of router
firmware may impact if you use a router.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check manually
    by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause

  • Recently, my laptop was hacked despite the defender of the window and the firewall running. After the accident, I have WINDOWS DEFENDER IS SETTING SWITCHED ON

Recently, my laptop was hacked despite the defender of the window and the firewall running. After that accident, I reinstalled vista Dell supplied CD. Initially defnder window was running, but I discovered it suddenlly, if off. Attempts to change IT is futile because it shows Run Time error

There is an installed antivirus program? Windows Defender is not an AV, it protects the system of spyware and potentially unwanted programs.
Is there an antivirus or Security Suite program that is installed with Windows Vista included on the Dell disk?

If so, what is disable Windows Defender, such as AV/SS can have a spyware component included with what is supposed to disable Windows Defender to not cause conflicts.

  • Account Hotmail has been hacked - and I'm not the only one...

Hello, I tried to get this resolved for three weeks now and free technical support found on the Windows Live Solution Center or forums does not help us.  Not at all.

My free email MSN (hotmail) account was compromised 3 weeks ago.  I pointed out to the Microsoft Abuse and in order to get a rear access account, I had to complete a password reset form and also go through the account validation process.  Well, I did it everyday for 3 weeks and the process does NOT work.

Once you go through the validation, Microsoft sends you a link to your forum private-i click the link and enter my PIN code and then who is supposed to enter your private Forum, you can follow your incident report and instructions on how to get your password reset.  Sounds good, but the link to the private forum NEVER works and you get an error message "resource not found" or you are returned to the main Help Page.   VERY frustrating and if you read the forums EVERYONE is complaining about this.

The right technical support representatives keep giving us links to go through the process again and again and again. They does NOT address the problem or acknoweldge a problem.  What happened to Microsoft SO many hotmail users have hacked their accounts?  Hundreds of people are writing in saying the same thing - that their accounts have been hijacked and this spam email is sent to the their entire contact list.  Hackers are changing their password and alternate email address and secret question.

No one is able to go through the process to reset their passwords successfully.  I am in desperate need to recover my account.    I tried to call technical support, but you do not support the MSN LIVE hotmail.  forums and free support is USELESS. There must be something that anyone can do.

This is unacceptable - service free or not, completely horrible what is happening.

You send messages in a Forum of Vista.

    And it's not Microsoft.

I told her that I had no money in my account right now to pay for 5 years @ 199.00 or life 119.00. I don't think these guys are for real. I didn't call back and they are supposed to call me tomorrow if I don't call them all first for money to pay for. We can get them or?

It's a scam. Just ignore it - they are just trying to make you pay for fake support services, or trying to access your computer to steal information.

If you let their distance in, do a full scan and change your passwords on your important accounts.

  • IMSG hacked account, sending a lot of international text in current bill

So yesterday my pirate apple account (connected from a unknown macbook) and I noticed someone was frantically sends many messages from my phone, images which got also sent as normal text to an international number. After noticing, I quickly changed password. Checked my mobile BT phone bill, and he had already executed a bill for all these messages sent to international numbers. The appeal of BT until you see what they can do and they just said, you will have to pay for the Bill and that was that.

What to do about this? my password was normally good security level and don't even know how he hacked. How would stop it doesn't happen because it looks just like any time I could just be landed with a massive Bill. Fortunately, I noticed pretty quickly this time, so the Bill does not accumulate to something that would be unfeasible. But with the telephone companies want to help at all, it seems extremely unfair!
