surround speakers

I have 5.1 surround sound speakers that work when I test them, but two additional speakers do not work when I listen to music via itunes, spotify, or watch television. I tried to fix this using the correction of this site and using the Troubleshoot utility, but nothing seems to work, and as I'm not really into computers I don't know what else to do. I would be grateful for any help. the speakers worked perfectly until a few days ago.

  • How is it, 5.1 surround speakers do not work with my computer?

I decided to buy 5.1 surround speakers and I bought Logetich Z506. The problem was that I had no experience of surround sound. The front satellites and the subwoofer has worked. The Center and the pair of two rear speakers did not work. Well I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit and my desktop is an Acer T180-ED390A(2007 model). The sound card driver that I use is Manager DD audio, Realtek and I noticed that I have 6 audio audio outputs on the back of the desktop computer. The audio outputs 6 are orange (central/subwoofer speaker), black (rear speaker), gray (speaker side), blue (line), green (front speakers out), pink (mic in). It seems that it supports 5.1, but it does not work. Can you please explain why it does not work?

    Hi JJJanu,

You can try to update the latest version of the drivers for the Realtek sound card and try to set up the speakers again. Make sure that you get all the speakers sound or not.

  • Using old Dell on a new '' surround speakers

I just bought a new Dell XPS 8500 and planned to use my old Dell surround speakers I bought with my older Dell XPS in 2005.  As one might suspect him, the color coding is not to help me.  I need advice on how to plug them in.  My old speakers have three strings, color GRAY, BLACK & YELLOW.  My new XPS has six input jacks audio in the back in two rows of three.  The colors on the catches are GRAY, BLACK, ORANGE and RED, GREEN, BLUE.  What should I do?

    Thank you

    Lloyd

Since no one answered my questiom, I tried to connect my old ADA995 Dell speakers (Altec Lansing) for my Dell XPS 630i system. Everything seems to work. Here are the links I used:

    The ADA995 has 3 entrances.

    1. Center & subwoofer (yellow)

    2. before left & right channel (green)

3 channel left & right rear (black)

    The XPS360i has these outputs.

    1 surround his (black) connector

    2, taken headphone/line-out (green)

    3 side surround connector (Silver)

    4. Center connector subwoofer/LFE (orange)

The connections I used were Yelllow > Orange, black > green and green > Silver.

As far as I know, six audio ports on the XPS 8500 have the same color code.

    Hi all.

Ive had a dell 9150 and dell 5650 5.1 surround sound.  Ive connected everything according to the manual, but I have to hold a speaker until the ear just to hear the music.  Ive checked in Device Manager and I have a Sigmatel high definition audio codec version 5.10.0.4823 driver installed.  In the control panel all volume levels are highest and the Soundbar on the bottom of the screen is also completely clock wise.  All speaker connections are in and the 3 x 3.5 mm plugs are in the right order.  Integrated sound card is also value on in the BIOS.  I don't know that catches and sound card are works well as another set of speakers works.  I could be missing something that is an easy fix.  Any help will be much appreciated.

Microsoft xp professional version 2002 SP3 with intel pentium 4 ht.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Neil,

Dell Dimension 9150 supports a surround sound 7.1 via its embedded audio codec. He must connect the green plug to the green port, black pine in the black port and yellow pine from the speaker to the yellow port.

You will need to select 5.1 speakers in the Creative Media Audio Software and check the synchronization with the control panel option. The volume of each speaker in the Surround Mixer.

  • No sound from the rear speakers 5.1 surround

original title: 5.1 surround sound does not work properly on windows 7.

5.1 Klipsch surround sound does not work with windows 7.  WM player and library itunes only play on two rear speakers.  System works fine on excerpts from concerts to youtube.  Worked well previously on XP.  Have seen a lot of forums with people having the same problem but no solution.  Anyone? Thank you.

    Hi K Johnston,

    Please contact Microsoft Community.

I understand from the description of the issue that you are having problems with setting up 5.1 surround sound speakers. Let me know if this isn't the issue.

    (1) have you tried setting your speakers upwards through the speaker configuration window?

Method 1: If this isn't the case, I suggest the steps to configure your speakers and check if you are able to select the surround speakers in the speaker configuration window.
    Set up your speakers
To set up your speakers for the best sound, follow these steps:

    (a) Open Audio devices and sound themes by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, hardware and sound, and then clicking sound.
    (b) click on the playback tab, select speakers, and then click Configure.
    (c) under Audio channels, select which speakers are present in your speaker configuration, and then click Test. You should hear a tone play in each speaker. Click next and follow the instructions to continue the Setup process.

Method 2: If you have no option to select the option of surround speakers in the speaker configuration window, then it seems that you don't have compatible drivers for surround speakers set up on the Windows 7 computer. So, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer to obtain compatible drivers for the surround speakers.

I hope it helps. If you have problems in the future, please let us know. We will be happy to help you.
  • Still disappointed with Apple TV Surround Sound!

Well, after several months of use of the Apple TV4, I must say that I am still very disappointed with the sound surround.

I have an audio receiver system and decent surround speakers, but since the purchase of the ATV4 the sound is not as good as it used to be, and it is poor compared to the other entries like Sky HD for example. I set him up on a possible adjustment of best Audio 7.1.

Its mainly the question of when I watch a movie. If listening to music it sounds good, but put a movie and I always have to turn up the volume. For example I was listening music to-30db on the amp but watched The good Dinosaur with my family yesterday and has to turn his up - 15db and before someone mentions - 15 is stronger than-30 on my system with 0db reference sound.

I don't understand why there is a big difference between music and movies. Netflix even sounds better. Sky HD sounds better. I had enough discussions and reviews on here for sure that I put it in place correctly but still his pants.

Come on get Apple sort it is so frustrating!

Hello. The sound on the movies is weak to allow plenty of room for loud sounds. The coding of the sound film was made when the film has been digitized. ATV is just passing the bytes on your amp. Sky is a broadcaster, so they compress the audio, distort in the process. Hard to say what Netflix is up to.

  • How to install external speakers on Satellite L500

    Hello

I just bought Satellite L500 (PSLS6A - 00 X 013) and have some surround speakers I want to fix - please could someone explain how to do this.

I would also like to know you need to unplug the computer once you have him stop?
I ask this question because I was wondering if this was then taken its toll on the system and that it would be better disconnected the power - something that I never did with my office, but will have to do with this laptop.
    Thanks for advance-Wilma

It will be interesting what speakers you have exactly.
Anyway, portable exact specification are unknown to me, but as far as I know you can connect normal PC (2 speakers + 1 subwoofer) speakers using the audio out port.

Please let us know what speakers you have exactly.

One last thing: the portable digital audio output to SPDIF port with optical port.

You can't unless you have the ability to use surround sound and then most of the time that the outputs are quite different for the surround speakers.  The a (normally green) jack is for the main speakers and other receptacles are for the individual surround speakers.  If you are using before (helmet) and taken back normally when something is plugged into the front jack rear taking is disabled.
  • Str-dn1020 receiver, back surround sound.

I just used str-dn1020 with configuration 5.1, a few days ago, I plugged it to the rear surround speakers (7.1 setup), but no sound at all.

Tried to 'test' speaker and speaker B / bi-amplification, there is no sound from surround back speakers, other speakers (5.1) are ok. the connections I made should be no problem.

Anyone experienced this problem, I need your advice and suggestions.

    Thank you very much.

You don't need to go in the GUI and activate these additional channels?

  • 5.1 surround Sound speaker system does not work in Windows 7 Professional 64-bit edition

My problem is about the same as other users who cannot get their surround sound speaker system to work properly in Windows 7.

I have a subwoofer and 5 speakers (2 front, 2 rear, 1 for the centre).  Connection to the RealTek HD Audio embedded is simple, orange for the subwoofer, green for the front and black for the rear.

Test the sound in Control Panel-> windows sound produces a sound on all channels and RealTek HD Audio Manager at the same time, which is the desired configuration.

However, different applications use different channels.  IE and Firefox use the front channels, VLC/MediaPlayer uses the back.  3D games (that is to say WoW) through all channels.  In each case the subwoofer does not work.

I tried to download the latest drivers on the motherboard (Gigabyte) manufacturers site.  I even tried the supplied RealTek drivers (even if on the Web from RealTek site which is NOT recommended).  I tried to connect the connectors of the subwoofer to the different takes (reversed black and green).

I have experimented with the settings in RealTek HD Audio Manager and control panel-> windows Sound.  Nothing works.

These exact same subwoofer and speakers worked perfectly well on Windows XP.

    I have 2 questions:

one) has anyone resolved their 5.1 & Windows 7 problem something that I have not yet tried?

    (b) when will Microsoft take this issue seriously?  All Microsoft provided answers just repeat what everyone

    has already tried.

First disconnect the cable 3 (orange, green and black) then click on Control Panel configuration-hardware and sound - Real tek HD audio manager - central tick, subwoofer and rear pair, front left and right and filling of speaker

Then click on advance device settings.

Select "perform front and reading of output devices back two different audio streams simultaneously" and give ok

Plug all three pins one by one and select the appropriate option in the popup windows.

    That's all.

You give enough information for me to get this working.   My system runs Win 7 X 64 Home Premium.   When I select 5.1 sound capacity side my 550 x Logitech speakers are not recognized.  If I select 7.1, which is the capacity of my chip Realtek chipset, I can get the two outside are activated as a "rear" speakers and can push the test tones to each of the four surrounding speakers and the combination of Center/bass via the Realtek driver.

Regarding the "front and reading of output devices back two different audio streams at the same time" worries... I can't find this option.  There are at least two suppliers of 'control of the interfaces' assets on my system.  One is provided by RealTek, the other by Microsoft.  The access roads to these interfaces is roundabout and confusing, to say the least.

Some compromises are in order in my humble OPINION.  I have my Pandora one stream play in an acceptable way in my small study.  Many of the source of sounds streamed to me are recorded in stereo or mono, I find myself hitting the 'matrix' on my Logitech X 550 button quite frequently.  Sometimes a more recent piece is delivered which actually looks Ok without the decoder "matrix".

What I would really like to be able to do is to "reconfigure on the fly" between the built in speakers on my Acer Z3731 system USB bar ' All in One ' and my external Logitech X 550 popular with the ability for the presentation of "5.1 surround sound" through three sons.  When I try your procedure, I don't get separate recognition of each thread, as it is trendy and often end up with its 2.1 being eliminated in my 5.1 speakers, because somehow Microsoft has re-recognized the built-in USB port based his bar instead of the three rear wires plugged into the outlets provided by the manufacturer of the system.

If there was ever separate 'Speakers' and 'Realtek' icons in the UI on my system, speakers are long gone and I can't get back them.  All I see is the Realtek driver.  I would like to see the two icons 'Speakers' different, I could mark "integrated 2.1" and "5.1 external '", in addition to the driver Realtek.»  How can I get these to reappear?

Can anyone suggest a way to have two different sets of "speakers" recognized and identified in the Microsoft UI in addition to the Realtek driver?  If I could get because of this, I think that the driver would let me 'set as default' one or the other speaker set, and I 'software switching' capable of letting me choose the external speakers or integrated sound bar offers the sound.

  • 5.1 surround sound problems

Now I know that a lot of people posted something on this topic, but have not received any concrete answers.
    Motherboard: MSI z77a-g43
Sound: Realtek latest driver 6.0.1.6823 from 13/01/2013
Similar problems with the rest of the people.
5.1 surround speakers, but only before back works do not work unless you check "Speaker Fill"
But although the pretty bad, bad sound quality coming from the rear.
I checked the output and inputs for audio is OK.
Setting Windows sounds I configured the surround sound 5.1 speakers and tested all individual works of speakers/sup.
I checked for the latest player, yes I have the disc.
I made sure the volume is 100% according to noise levels, even the etc rear black rear gray all balanced.
Even messed with improvements and all nothing.
Now here's the catch, YouTube all my work of speakers, on some applications that was basically a 2.1 speakers.
That said I unchecked give it some control over the application of the thing of the device. Nothing has changed.
Windows Active update hoping that they would have something about this but nothing related.

So is Windows 7 or Realtek problem?.
I just bought these speakers in the hope of a 5.1 full surround with all applications, just very frustrated, I spent $ 100 on something that will not work correctly. (Yes, people spend more).

Anyway could someone help me solve this problem?
As a real answer instead of the entire test / configure the response of the speaker.

    I thank very you much.

    Windows media player?
    BF3?
    event?
    VLC?
    CSGO?
    3dmark11?
Mumble works well. (another program similar to the wind)
    Steam works
Basically, it shall decide on its own.
And prettyyyy im sure that these programs all provide support for 5.1...

Then in VLC - no matter what you play (even files that you know the sound coded by the author OR by a spectator codec 5.1 any)-No 5.1 audio?
