  Since you had windows installed 8.0 when you bought your computer, you should have a recovery Partition and when you perform a restore will be automatically retrieved the activation key and your Windows is activated. Product keys are now stored in the motherboard. Use the disk that you have if it came with your computer and your Windows 8 will be activated automatically. If the disc is from another source, it will not work unless you buy a new product key. Buy the way I would do the computer shop to solve your problem or refund you.   If I understand correctly, you cannot open files on Windows Home key and it freezes everything in browsing the internet.

  Please answer these questions to better understand the issue:

  1. what happens when you try to open the files?

  2. What is the file format of the files?

  3. do you use the Internet Explorer browser to surf the internet? If so, which version?

  4. don't it freezes on any particular website?

  5. do you have Windows 7 complete edition also installed as a dual boot on the computer?
