  Update the bios to the version latest and basically put all that toshiba had to offer for this model...

  EVEREST ran and it recognizes the module 1 G but when I pull out the original 512 MB module, the laptop starts for about 3 seconds then stops...
  This repeats about 5 times then fill stop...

  I don't like open the back cover too often but it's the 3rd module...
  Don't know what is supposed to happen if the module works... IE launch message... dunno if windows recognizes module 1 G...
  Would be - this bet safer to send Offtek module and stick with option of toshiba...

• DVD playback stops on Satellite A100

  I have an A100 - model No. PSAAKKC - VA104C - which is loaded with Vista Home Basic and included Intervideo WinDVD for Toshiba B06.108 v8.0.

  When I play DVD they begin OK but after about a minute or two, playback stops and then starts, stops repeatedly. Program information page shows 1 GB of memory even though I've updated to 2 GB.

  Anyone got any ideas?

  Unless I opened fully open/almost completely the cover on my Toshiba Satellite A100-049 it will always freeze on screen Toshiba Logo black (first one you see). • Graphics - Satellite A100-313 card problem stops itself

  I have a satellite A100-313 and I use vista.
  Every time when I'm playing games, the laptop turns off after a while. It varies, normally have 10-20 minutes of play.

  I seem to have a problem with my virtual sound on my Satellite A100. It seems to work intermittently, often it doesn't work anymore and I can't control if it is on or off. If I reboot, it can start working again, but not always. I did a factory restore of the machine that clears the fault, but after a few start-up, it starts to happen again.
