Switch handset of blackBerry Smartphones

I have a major problem from a Bold 9000 to my new torch. According to me, it could be a problem in version and tried to not solve or no this result. I use the Desktop Manager v4.6 switch. It stores fat OK, but when I go to switch to the new handset it comes up with 'Fatal Error' after approximately 30 to 60 seconds. PLEEEEASE help. I want to get all my contacts and photos throughout.

Hello

Try to update the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to the BlackBerry Desktop Software 6. You are having problems is because the torch does not work properly with older versions of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

You can download the BlackBerry Desktop Software from http://www.blackberry.com/desktop.

I hope this helps!

  • Handset locked blackBerry smartphones

Suddenly my 9300 does not accept my BlackBerry ID password even though I know it's good. I tried to reset it with the forgotten password link, but that didn't work, so reset it on the Blackberry site via my iPad. Can log on successfully on the iPad and managed to check the ID in BlackBerry protect just once and it is back to the top. My phone is now locked and I have exhausted my 10 tries to unlock 9 but the phone will not accept this new password, and I am in danger of all my data be deleted. What can I please. If I try again and that data is deleted will I then go into my device and be able to perform a reinstallation of data from the Web site.

Then suffices to you very explicitly to say exactly what the screen displays when it's asking to specify this password. What you have described so far, I deduced that it is the device lock password - that only the user can create. If you did not (you are sure that someone else did not do this for you?), so maybe I'm wrong my deduction. A clear description of your part could help me understand. Photos posted here would help as well.

  • Volume loudspeaker/handset of blackBerry Smartphones

The speakerphone and the handset volume look identical.  I cannot hear unless I have keep the phone close to my ear.

For long conversations, it would be nice to be able to put it down.  The volume on the phone is high enough that didn't seem to help.

Hummmm... didn't know I was supposed to be a game.  ;-)  Then... I removed the battery.  Interesting, now there is a difference in volume.  It's stronger on the handset, that she is pregnant.  I was expecting it to be the other way around.  Still not as strong as my Palm Treo that I replaced, but much better than it was.  Thank you

  • Version 5.0.0 of my handset broken blackBerry Smartphones

Director of office informed me that there is an update available, so I opted to go ahead with it.

5.0.0.41 version 1 installed successfully and all data has been restored.

Phone does everything except receive incoming text - voice, e-mail work correctly.

Vodafone offered the demotion to version 4, so I got 4.4.6.1.310 by following the links to the website of Vodafone.

Still no incoming text, more time to talk with Vodafone not conclude that there is a problem with the handset.

Their third level support say it's a return to base "to zapping.

I would be grateful for any suggestions of something to try out before I give up and we get another handset.

    Update...

We have a phone that seems to work. It was not simple, however.

Both the original and the new phone working all both OK.

The problem is transferred to the new after using Desktop Manager to do a full restore.  I did a selective restore of the calendar, book messages and email address and everything seems to work as it should.  Except e-mail send / receive, but I don't know if it's a problem of Vodafone.

The only oddity I can think is that the SMS database contains more than 2,500 messages.

Interestingly, ongoing execution 5.0.0.41 1 of the new phone, the same 5.0.0 install which was at the heart of the original problem.

    Desktop Manager is 5.0.1.18

Is there an easy way to inject it on RIM?  I happily offer the backup data file if they want.

    * Edited to add - the problem of e-mail resulted by the restoration of the old email database, I have everything works as it should.

  • Switch device of blackBerry Smartphones

Then when I plug the curve the process grinds to a halt, with no error message. • Switching between email blackBerry smartphones

In any case to move to the next or previous message in e-mail when you read emails?  So far I can not understand and have to close the current e-mail and open the next or previous.

    Hi tsconver,

When read and send an email you can scroll it by moving your finger up to down along the touchscreen. If you want to read the following message in your message list just quickly move your finger on the right side of the screen on the left side of the screen... almost as if you're turning to the next page. You can also flip pages reverse the path.

BTW, this also works in the image viewer to moving back and forth between the images in your list.

Another nice thing is if you want to see all the message with the same topic... or by the same author, you can touch the message without click and wait a second or towing. A strong blue moves in any of the header and then filter your message list by topic or authoer (that you talked about as close to)

  • List switches Favorite of blackBerry Smartphones

Whenever I restart my phone, my favorite list is not in order that I had left it, and miss me some applications I had chosen for the Favorites.

    This happened to someone else?

Every time that you restart, you will find what is happening.

Can I suggest something?  I let my homescreen on everyone, then I move my favorite icons to near the top of the screen.  That way, whenever I play with the phone's memory, i.e. do a battery pull, my favorites are always near the top of my screen for easy access.  If I need to do all the icons that are not my favorites, they are just below of their on the same screen.

(By the way, to move an icon on your home screen, highlight without clicking, and then click menu BB to the left of the trackpad.)  Select move and move it with the trackpad.  Once it's where you desire, click the trackpad again and you're done.)

  • BlackBerry Smartphones after switch of the device to the same model, BB missing Apps (like cards and password keeper)

I had problems for a long time with my keyboard on my BB Bold 9900, so finally I was given a used to toggle Bold 9900. I have used the functionality of the switch device of BlackBerry Desktop (v7.1) software and was off and running on my 'new' "BOLD". Finally, I noticed that the cards and password keeper are missing on my new phone. I did a lot of digging through our corporate HelpDesk, phone call from mobile provider support, and if Google search (incl. various BlackBerry support forums). Nowhere is that I found a solution that worked.

A number of sources did the download card www.blackberry.com/ but that results in a message of "Opinion sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry Maps."

When I look in the Applications tab of BB Desktop Software, BlackBerry Maps is not listed (is not password keeper).

Two of my phones are running OS 7.1 Bundle 2840. Carrier SaskTel (part of the network of Bell Mobility).

    Any ideas?

From what you describe, something is not right when you installed/updated / switched devices. Thus, a clean reload of the OS would be the right thing to do. The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry smartphones I want my BBM back! BBM contacts switched between two phones I own, my wife and me

Hey, my wife's friends are nice, but I can't be in their discussions... I have 2 bb Torch 9800. For no apparent reason about 3 months ago the bbm contacts exchanged between them without any reason. I've been in contact with my phone provider, and they are perplexed and said that it is a problem of bb... How can I get the bbm is switched back to good phones?

I tried to remove and reinstall applications, same old contacts...

Note: I share the same e-mail address on both phones, this could be and question? When I got the phones of MTS, a few years ago, they said it was very good and quite work very well to the top until there are a couple / few months.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Sharing the same e-mail address is no problem... e-mail systems is generally accessed from multiple customers, and the application of enamel on the BB is just another type of e-mail client.

But, if you meant that you share the same BBID on both devices, then it indeed is probably the cause of the problem. It is inadvisable to associate a BBID to more than a SmartPhone BB. Strange things can happen, including the tangle of BBM contacts, as has happened to you.

Since BBM7, BBM contacts are not stored on the device itself... on the contrary, they are stored "in the cloud" with the BBID. Before BBM7 (indeed, "a couple of years"), the BBM contacts were stored on the device itself and therefore would not mingle if a BBID has been shared between several BB devices.

Here's what you need to do:

    1. Decide which of the two devices will retain the existing BBID
    2. Manually clean the BBM contacts to reflect only what desires this device
    3. On the other BB, you need to prepare by making a full backup of the device, because the "fix" will wipe
      • See the link in my sig auto on this post for instructions to complete backup
    4. Once you have this backup, you should separate this another BB the BBID existing and create a new brand for the single device
      • KB26694 How to change the BlackBerry ID on a BlackBerry smartphone or BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet
    5. Once this is done, you can switch to manually re-create all BBM contacts on the 2nd device (no, there is no way to automate this process for you)

    Good luck!

  • Switching devices blackBerry Smartphones using the Desktop Manager

I just got my Torch 9800 replacement since my first only the battery was drainning (apparently a common problem).

Until I returned my old Torch 9800 I backed up and also used the device switch option in Desktop Manager. When it asked me to connect the new device, I unplugged the old camera, he took to the shop orange and then plugged my new camera.

Then an error has occurred and asked me to update the software on the new device. I did it... and then when I use switching devices, it asks me to connect the current device but the problem is... I don't have the camera more.

As I backed up all the data, I did a restore. He restored most of the data, but it has not restored my apps.

Any idea on how I can do?

I hope it is interesting all that.... and I get a better battery life this time!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Ah... never mind. While the device switch Wizard can indeed move a few apps, the backup/restore process does not have applications. So, in the State you are in, you must go to the source of your applications and re - get them. If you by AppWorld, the process is very smooth:

    • KB17625 How to install or transfer has already purchased apps from BlackBerry App World for BlackBerry smartphone

If you have from other sources, then you should see if these sources are a simple way for you. I hope you have good record of all your activation keys... and some will indeed have to be regenerated some developers to attach the key on the BB SPINDLE, which is now different since you have a new device.

    Good luck!
