switch motherboard

Hi, I have a desktop Hp a710n. Bought a hp a820n mother to put, but the 710 has 2 plugs to ide on the map and 1 is used for the hard disk and the other is used for cd and dvd drives. The jury of 820 has only 1 ide plug so am perplexed. Reason for change was to step up to 3.8 processor intel. Any suggestion is appreciated. I can't wait to take it to a store when it might be a simple solution. Thank you

Hi, what you need to do is connect all disks using a single cable. You then set the hard drive as master and the other readers as slave (using jumpers on the back of the disc), and then you're ready to go.

Hope this helps

  • APPCRASH error codes.

    Hello.

About 4 months ago, I got a new PSU Corsair CS850M, CPU Intel 4790 MSI 97 x games 5 k card mother and a Corsair liquid cooler H100i for my pc. Everything ran great until a few weeks ago. These problems started at random, I had not installed anything new or done any physical change to my pc.

At first, I noticed that Google Chrome has been extremely slow page loading. I noticed that it wasn't a problem with the internet connection because I'm connected to ethernet and the computer next to me has been loading content quickly without any problems. I ignored and treated with it because I was too lazy to reinstall chrome. I don't know if this has nothing to do with the other issues im having, it's just something I've noticed not long until I started getting APPCRASH error for some programs codes.

The problem started when I was playing Overwatch one day and while I was in the middle of a game, I got an APPCRASH error for cloud creative adobe, which I never use. I ignored the error and then finally Battlenet crashes more, give me a similar error code. Remember, when battlenet blocks, the game remains open and is still playable.

Always this frustraited me, so I closed the game and trying to reopen battlenet. That's when I got the error code again, but this time battlenet doesn't open at all. I decided to restart my computer.

When he turned back on. I had 5 APPCRASH codes for several programs that could not open at startup for example, razer synapse. I was confused by this so I tried to open google chrome to search for error codes. When you try to open, it would immediately crash. I decided to uninstall chrome and reinstall using internet explore (who also broke several times beforehand and middle chrome re - install). When I opened it, it worked fine and worked well since. It makes no sense to me.

Then I tried to reinstall all the programs that have swept, assuming that maybe I would have the same results as I did with the chrome. It did not work. With battlenet in particular. I get that appcrash codes error about 50% of the time. I can usually just keep trying to open it and finally it works. This happens with about half of the programs during installation or attempt to open.

I spread the material problems by replacing the RAM, PSU, switched motherboards, installed a new HDD and SSD and also tried unplugging the GPU and graphics running off internal. At this point the only apparent material question im thinking it might be is CPU. However, it is only 4 months old, and if it was a matter of places, it is not supposed me why 4 months later it would send me questions, not immediately once it has been installed.

I reinstalled the operating system about 10 times now, to exclude a virus and OS corrupted files. Tent 2 different windows 7 OEM disc, Windows 7, 8 and 10 via a USB key. And of course, I tried to update my drivers and windows.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what I could please help.

I could not find someone on the internet who had the same problem. And she let all my friends fans scratching their heads.

    Thank you.

Here is an example of the APPCRASH error I get.

  • OEM installed Windows 7 now say that it is not authentic

I had windows 7 on a laptop Samsung including motherboard fried after 15 months. The initial cost is $ 650, but the repair estimate is $ 1100. In order to not wanting another Samsung, I put the Samsung hard drive in a new Dell Inspiron 15. Everything worked fine for a couple of months, but now I get the message that my copy of Windows 7 is not genuine. I have more the Samsung as I sent it to the weeks of the recycler. What should I do?

OEM licenses are linked to it was installed on the original system. Switching motherboards is identified as a new computer and the license authentication will fail.

However, you have also changed the system manufacturer. System of large manufacturers have special licensing agreements that allow them to preinstall Windows on a computer without having to go through an authentication process. Samsung licence key is different from the one issued to Dell (and any other manufacturer). The entrance to the Dell SLIC BIOS will not accept with an active image of Samsung.

If the key is visible on the COA for the Dell label you can try to enter this key in the license dialog. slui.exe 3 in an elevated command prompt should allow you to enter a new key.

I also tried looking for a bios update, but I couldn't find one that was on the hp Web site.

Please help I don't want to buy a new motherboard and cpu.

    Hello

Most graphics cards require BIOS version 8 HP.  BIOS version 8 is listed under Windows 8 for your particular model PC.  While the BIOS version 8 will probably support your new graphics card, you might find yourself stuck that Windows 7 will not work using the UEFI. You can install BIOS and then turn on legacy mode and see if the card works. However, if the card is a single card UEFI well then you are in a situation of 'catch' 22 In this case, you would have the BIOS later and W7 should always work in legacy mode.  Even with this BIOS update running in mode inherited that there could be some risk that W7 will not work.  Once you update the BIOS there is no coming back.

    Another thought.

There are no Windows Ultimate 10 version if upgrading to W10 (free upgrade) would you put on the professional version W10. I do not know if that would suit your needs. However, if you have a place in the upgrade by using the W10 iso DVD or flash drive then you could extract the W10 license key so that your could do a clean install with legacy mode turned off in the BIOS that puts your PC into UEFI mode.

You have a few risks to consider.  In addition, HP has not posted the W10 for your PC drivers.

What would I do?  I'd go for it, but then my wallet could be deeper than yours.

  • Updated motherboard, switching to home premium oem in professional detail.

I have a copy retail Windows 7 Professional which has been activated on another computer I'm disassembly and no longer go to the for use.  Can I use this copy of windows in my new computer that is running windows 7 Home premium oem (just installed new motherboard and it continues to ask for activation) without any problems?  If possible I'll have to do a clean install or can I use any time upgrade?

I'll give my younger brother my old computer should be able to have rights on the oem license, this hypothesis is correct?  What I read in the other questions and answers the oem cd key is locked to the computer, and since I'm going to give him the greater part of the original computer (less memory and hard drive) it should work right?

The computer with the version of Windows OEM must keep the OEM version.

You can install Windows 7 Pro on the new computer as a clean install (the key does not work as an anytime upgrade). Must be a 'Full' product or you need an earlier version of Windows to use an "Upgrade" version

  • Processors to switch on the motherboard?

    Hello

    I have a Dell XPS 420 with the core2quad Q6600 @ 2.4 ghz processor

    My question is: can I install a core2quad E8500 @ 3.1 ghz processor inside.

It would be about 25% faster?

The specific problems that I might encounter?

    Thanks in advance,

    Richard

While it should work, the E8500 is a dual core CPU, not a quad.  And while the CPU can be 25% faster, don't forget the rest of the system remains the same, you will not see something like a difference of 25% total - perhaps 5 to 8%.

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1380t CTO: compatibility problems, ask questions about knitting-by-turn or possible motherboard replacement.

I recently baught an EVGA GTX 1060, as this 630 became quite long in the tooth and I thought that I would try to future proof myself a little as the rest of my components seem to be working very well.  However, I can't get the map to work correctly on this particular computer.  Oddly enough, I can get past that screen startup finally after several short beeps and let it sit, but it takes fowever to reach the office and clearly is not executed properly that the resolution is wobbly and software from Nvidia cannot even detect the card.  I guess I had got this far because of the onboard graphics of some sort, but AFAIK this motherboard which lacks.

I know that the card works fine as I tested it in my other Tower, so I struggled to find a solution.  So far, it seems that the problem is most likely the motherboard, as HP does not have a new BIOS for it since the beginning of 2013 (which I did go ahead and install it).  If true, I find myself with either two options, it seems that the ditch system, entirely or find a motherboard that works with all my old components.  I'd rather not have to empty this workaholic, when all other parts work great, if it is not a work around I would like to know if there are motherboards I could pass that would work with the rest of my components.  Normally I would not bother with even apply for, but I hear a lot of chatter on HP PCs pre-constructed having compatibility problems.

I bought this computer there is in the case of four years that I would be able to update as I do with any other PC, but I didn't know at the time that HP has a tendency to not update the BIOS settings for anything beyond a year which I admit is incredibly frustrating.  What is done is done however, and I want to make this work without having to clear the entire system.

    @Faver, welcome to the forum.

Your problem is the BIOS.  However, it is because the 1060 GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  The BIOS may not be upgraded in the UEFI.  The last cards only not for UEFI were the GTX 660/670.

MSI made cards with a switch that can be used with a Legacy BIOS or UEFI.  If you decide to go this way, you must contact their Technical Support to help them choose the best card for your system.

The upgrade of the motherboard can be a problem.  HP has taken advice their specifications.  Therefore, they are not necessarily the same as the commercial versions.  Please make sure that the holes in the motherboard matches the accessory in the case.  In addition, some members have had problems with the connectors in the connections case before, for example, the power button.

  • Satellite Pro A100-622 lcd screen switch

    Hello

can anyone tell me where the switch that turns off the display when you close the lid, or sensor or anything that turns the unit off.

my screen stays on when closed after that I adapted a new Panel lcd, inverter and cable.

    Thank you.

First of all, check that Windows is configured to do something when the lid is closed. Perhaps, it is set to "do nothing".

I think it has a magnet near the LCD that triggers a sensor in the base (and possibly the motherboard).

  • Satellite A350D 203: How To Determine if motherboard is dead

My partner had the Satellite for a little more than 2 years original Vista OS & it just died.

The symptoms are that when you press the power button / Stop button lights & a trigger that suggests that HD is attempting to start-up/spin up but then no other sounds... fan does not start... nothing appears at all.

The power button can be switched off by pressing on & holding which seems to indicate that the unit must be followed...

My partner recalls that, before the unit finally failing, he used to heat & close [new suggesting that overheating detection & close work].

I do not think that the HD is faulty for a friend of my partner was able to save the data on the disks for it.

Can someone suggest a logical process to follow?

If it turns out later that the motherboard is faulty, anyone has any basic experience review/Visual tasks that can be performed, i.e. re-brazing of known "weak points" / acknowledged the failures of components?

My apologies for asking such basic questions, but the net is full of 'experts' & conflicting information, which suggests a series of flaws from the BIOS... Motherboard.

PS: even though I'm no expert PC I have a degree in electronic engineering & looking for simply a few logical & credible advice before shelling out on a replacement motherboard.

    > Symptoms are that when you press the power button / Stop button lights & a trigger that suggests that HD is attempting to start-up/spin up but then no other sounds... fan does not start... nothing appears at all.

This does not mean that the HARD drive is faulty.
If the HARD drive is faulty, you should see more of Toshiba by the message as error PXE startup screen or something like the Bootmgr is missing, etc.

But you should certainly see something on the screen
If this isn't the case, a motherboard or a part on the motherboard as the memory modules may be faulty.

You can try to test the laptop with new RAM modules tested but I think best for you would be a short trip to a technician from downtown who could perform material tests.

  • Satellite L300 - load problem (motherboard) - power clicksound

    Hello readers,

My laptop has a serious problem. While the charger is plugged into the laptop, the battery is charged only for a few seconds or just a blink of an eye for a second. Subsequently the two LED turns off (power and battery). This will continue all the time turns on and turns off. If I turn on the computer this will continue, running on battery and wire, each second of switching or even several times in less than a second. In other words, when running it drain more energy then it recharges. (apart from the fakt it is very worrying, it seems that someone is to remove and replace the power of the feeder)

When 'passing' (on or in normal battery charging), there is a slight "click" (sound).

So far, I've checked the voltage of the battery and the charger, both being fine. I opened the laptop and check the voltages and discovered (oh wonder) the voltage on the power supply drops while it "switches". The charger itsself click switch or anything like that, only if connected...

I tried to find out from where comes this clicking noise, but I could not located it. Same 'listen', while the motherboard has been entirely removed, upset... did not help.

I tried remove it push battery 30 s etc...

Is there a solution (remove/replace a part of the motherboard) or do I have to empty it now?

Thanks for your answers, if there is no procedural problem my English, I'm very happy to explain further

    > While the charger is plugged into the laptop, the battery is charged only for a few seconds or just a blink of an eye of a second. Subsequently the two LED turns off (power and battery).

For me, it looks like a problem with the AC adapter.
If the battery would be affected, the power LED would still be THERE. But if the power is off, the led turn off power.
So, for me, it looks like a problem with AC adapter and in my opinion, that the adapter should be checked in the first place.

The rattling noise could be produced by HARD drive what you think?

  • Satellite Pro L350-25Z - WLAN switch broken

A few days ago my toshiba notebook droped down. So far everything works well. Because he laptop is not able to access the WLAN. If I tooked looking more closely I discovered that the Wireless switch is broken. So I disassepled the laptop computer and discovered that it's sw501 on the motherboard.

So my question, is possible to bypass the switch by welding. It is not a problem if I can't go wireless after the short circuit switch.
Another solution would be to change the switch with the original, if possible to get spare part a.

Thanks a lot 4 your help.

    Hello

Unfortunately, I think that the only solution to replace this switch or the motherboard... I put t know exactly because I m not a technician for laptop, but if the switch is broken need to replace

You can ask a service provider authorized in your country. Guys can get in touch with Toshiba and order new parts for you. Just give them a call or write an email, that it takes only a few minutes. ;)
