Satellite Pro L350-25Z - WLAN switch broken

A few days ago my toshiba notebook droped down. So far everything works well. Because he laptop is not able to access the WLAN. If I tooked looking more closely I discovered that the Wireless switch is broken. So I disassepled the laptop computer and discovered that it's sw501 on the motherboard.

So my question, is possible to bypass the switch by welding. It is not a problem if I can't go wireless after the short circuit switch.
Another solution would be to change the switch with the original, if possible to get spare part a.

Thanks a lot 4 your help.

Datl greetings

    Hi RJ.

Generally these BSOD codes are mainly related to hardware or driver issues...
Before exchanging something or contact an authorized repair service provider, I recommend you to reinstall Windows from the Toshiba recovery disc. This can restore with pre-tested settings factory settings and drivers of Toshiba. Normally, everything should work fine with him.

If this is not the case, there is a hardware problem, but it is always hard to tell which part is exactly defective. Therefore, you need professional help from a technician for laptop.

Remove the battery, disconnect the adapter, press and hold the power button / stop along 30 sec.
Now connect the battery and the AC adapter and try power upward

What should I do if I want to keep all the configurations that I have in the 160 GB of HARD drive.

    Hello

    > What should I do if I want to keep all the configurations that I in the 160 GB HARD drive

If I understand correctly, you want Vista 32 bit with all the configuration to 500 GB hdd? You can use a program called Acronis True image to a hard drive image backup and move it to another hard drive, then. Note that this program is not free, and you must activate it for use.

  • I installed a Dell OS disk on my Satellite Pro L350-107

Call me a fool, but I don't know much about drivers or install vista.

I'll tell you guys everything in order to make as much sense as possible:

I was just looking on my Toshiba Satellite Pro L350-107, a. MKV file on a program called "Zoom Player", it arises abruptly saying "zoom player has stopped working. So I clicked the pop-up on X but my laptop crashed and I had to power off button power holding down for 5 seconds.

After this incident, I turned on the laptop back, everything was normal until about two minutes to check in, everything froze again and again and again until I gave up on it. The next morning, I discovered that my father has managed to use the account invited without problems, so instantly, I logged into my account to see pop ups like "flash cards stopped working" and anything associated with toshiba to crash, but I could always use internet.

I decided to do a system restore, after 2 failed attempts I finally restored my laptop to the earliest date, and everything was fine until about an hour into the laptop, it would crash like what I explained above.

Then my father got a copy of mcafee, and we were looking for viruses, at halfway of the analysis, it found 2 Trojan horses, but crashed in the middle of the overall analysis. Now, here's the real problem...

I got an operating system disk, due to the fact that I thought he was just install vista again, I formatted the hard drive to the L350 - 107 and proceeded with the installation, but I had to install second hard disk, because on the c / reader could not. After intall vista was full, I wanted to check what are the components, but the operating drive was a dell disk use and now think that it is a dell. Now the screen is stuck on a screen of 32-bit and none of the pilot are related, due to them being drivers toshiba not dell.

I tried looking for drivers and sought a downloadable operating system disk, but nothing has worked, toshiba stopped giving an operating with their laptops drive (so I heard).

Please, someone help me! AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

    Hello

    > toshiba stopped giving an operating with their laptops drive (so I hear).
First of all more recent of Toshiba laptops HARD drive recovery option and allows to recover the computer laptop but only if the HARD disk was not formatted.
Second, you will always find a creative software for the Toshiba Recovery disk pre-installed on Toshiba laptops. This tool creates the recovery disc!
But this must be done before the disk was formatted HARD!

In addition, you always get a reminder message that you must burn this image to a DVD:
    Important INFORMATION

your system is equipped with a hard drive recovery system. If you need to repair
your computer in the restaurant to original factory State, you can do it directly
hard disk (press F8 when you start your computer, choose "Repair your computer"
and follow the instructions in the menu) or create a media drive bootable recovery for this purpose.

Toshiba recommends you create recovery disk medium uses the "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator' to ensure the

    However, the issue of your...
    You have two options;
Yu will format the HARD drive and install the operating system using the original Windows disc from Microsoft. Then, you can download drivers Toshiba from the European pilot of Toshiba page.
Or you order the drive recovery Toshiba for this laptop from here:

My Satellite Pro L350-277 keeps giving message "unhandled exception error". It occurs randomly, and the message box goes away if I click on "Continue" or "quit".

Does not appear to affect applications that are running at the same time.
My machine is heading a serious accident?

What is your laptop preinstalled with Toshiba (operating system factory pre-installed) recovery image?
Have you noticed that on the first day?

You know, it's not easy to say why this is happening, but maybe he appears after you have started to install additional software.

  • Satellite Pro L300-1FL - WLAN network adapter does not exist

    Model: Satellite Pro L300-1FL (PSLB9E)
    Operating system: XP Pro SP2
    Wireless card: PA3616u-1mpc (atheros AR5007)

the laptop came with pre-installed vista, everything worked very well (including wireless), although a little slowly, but decided to downgrade to xp. integrated SATA drivers into my xp with nlite installation disc. XP installed fine. visited the toshiba support site and downloaded all the drivers for xp and install.

Despite the installation of the wireless driver there is still no present in the wireless network card device driver. It is an "unknown" device listed, which I think is the wireless card.

at first I was not sure what card appeared so systematically installed that all options of wlan of the toshiba download page [intel/atheros/realtek], none has worked. little more digging autour and discovery was a then reinstalled atheros atheros wlan client on the toshiba site. still did not work. found a update atheros ar5007 driver installed, still no joy.

forward wireless switch is on [the orange light] and has been throughout the process. have you tried enabling / disabling fn + F8, which doesn't do anything.

I think I read somewhere (having read much too many post on this over the last few days!) that update the BIOS to version 2.4 can solve the problem. However the version offered for my model by the toshiba page BIOS update is 2.1 (which I've updated when you install all drivers in xp) and I'm not that eager to update the BIOS to a version that is not supported by toshiba, because I have no idea how fix an incorrect BIOS prevents starting the computer.

When you look at the BIOS option "wake we wireless" is grayed out and not selectable. There is no other network without wire/related parameters. This might infer that the BIOS does not recognize the card wireless for some reason any. whereas he should have before, I started to lose its time, as worked it fine under vista wireless. so I think that upgrading the BIOS might have broken, although I can't be sure that I've updated the BIOS until I realize that the without wire did not work under XP, so it could have been broken before the BIOS update. Does this sound plausible? also, I have no idea how if is take to solve this - you can downgrade the BIOS?

any help greatly appreciated - have been pulling on my hair for 2 days now and there is only so much googling, you can do before find yourself you constantly re - visiting the same sites over and over again!

    Thank you

    ~ andy

worried that he may have been conflict for different drivers wlan I had initially installed, so have done a complete re - format and re-installation of xp. Install the drivers, including the wlan driver atheros. but still no adapter wlan in Device Manager.

the unknown device in the other section of the Device Manager is listed as an ethernet controller; However glancing upward from the PCI/VEN # (C & DEV_001C 168) on the basis of data from the provider PCI identifies that this is indeed the atheros card.

This means that it is not a hardware/BIOS problem as I previously suspected. XP can 'see' the device, but for some reason, the driver won't work. Hmm

someone at - it had a similar problem? is it just a matter of finding the "correct" driver

    Thank you

  • Satellite Pro M40 - no WLan connection - driver missing?

Some unknown device is listed in Device Manager?

I'm not 100% sure but I think your M40 Atheros WLAN card inside. Please visit http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads and try to download and install WXP driver Atheros WLAN Card.

  • Satellite Pro L300-156 - WLAN connection drops every 12 hours

    Hello!

I have a short model "Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-156" (PSLB1E).

    The system state is:

I used the recovery CD (to install Windows XP and other software on this CD).
I've upgraded to the latest version of the BIOS (1.50, 10/07/2008) for my laptop and I downloaded all updates for Windows XP.
I installed the latest WLAN driver for my WIFI (Realtek RTL8187B) card.

    The problem is still there:
Every 12 hours (exactly on the minute!) drops connections.
Not only the Internet, but the local connection.
It is even a kind of matrices.

Both a connection to a local computer and "mIRC" (ssh/telnet-program) to "PuTTY" (program-chat-IRC) says "network error caused abortion of software".

These ping connections not, they die instantly in a tenth of a second.

    Hello

I guess it can be caused by a 3rd third party tool that was installed on your laptop.

I mean it of really strange that disconnected EXCATLY after 12 hours of use.

"I have goggled a bit for the message: network error: Software caused connection abort."
And found that this error is displayed if the Windows network code decides that your network connection is dead. This will happen when you remove the cable network Ethernet-connected computer, or if Windows has any other reason to believe the entire network has become unreachable.

I think you should check the settings of your WLan router. My router refresh / disconnects after 23,59 hours to ensure that the IP address has changed.

  • Satellite Pro A100 - power supply is broken

    Hello

One of my friends had a Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 (we think), but the food is now broken. Find a new buy was a bit awkward, as we are not sure of who did and who are not.
So, here I am asking for help in this issue:
-That food can be purchased and used for a Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 (or possibly A100-514-515)?
    - Or if the foregoing proves too difficult to answer, info on the requirements (for example, watts, volts, Hertz, etc.) will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Morsby

I think of the A100 different adaptors depending on the model. If you need know exactly what is the model number. Some 19v, others are 15v.

PS. You should buy an original Toshiba adapter. Ive heard stories of cards not blowing Toshiba motherboard and other problems.

  • Re: Satellite PRO 4600 and WLAN driver

My old Satellite Pro 4600 connects with networks wireless unsecured very well but has a problem with WEP - Gets an error message immediately to connect command, never reaches the authentication dialog.

I would try to update the drivers of wifi card, but where can I find them? This site does not recognize not my serial number.

    Can someone please?

    Thank you.

This along with the serial number reorganization probably works with new laptops only.
Go directly to the download section Toshiba > http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and under archive try to find your model of laptop and WLAN driver.
