I have not noticed any thing different about anything whatsoever on my laptop so have NO idea what it did!
Please HELP, it's starting to annoy me. I searched online and found nothing to help.

Can anyone help?

I just noticed that the symbol is in my taskbar. When I right click in a box opens with a picture that I can only describe as a memory card on a stand!

Next to the photo there;  OSD version 1.17

This help someone to help me to solve my problem?

Hello

Sorry I don't have an advent, my Toshiba has a different than yours, for Fn + F9 symbol if it is the
Toggle on / off the touchpad.

Because there may be systematic, I would check with the advent of support and their documentation online.

If we charge just like the office, then I think its a program that protects something on the system.

(Edited to replace Acer Advent).

  • HP G60 laptop boots HP logo, and then recycles - Windows 7

I just installed a new keyboard on my laptop G60 running Windows 7 Enterprise Edition. before putting the screws in the battery compartment area, I replaced the battery and turned on my laptop unpluggced to see if the new keyboard work. Everything worked perfectly.

So I closed the lid of my laptop, removed the battery, put the screws, replace the battery and press the power button, now my laptop boots as much as the HP logo, with the option to press ESC to the Start Menu, then the screen goes black and travels to the HP logo. This cycles goes and indefinitely. I am able to access the Start Menu. I removed the new keyboard and tried to start it again - same thing. I then tried using my old keyboard to see if that makes a difference - no change.

    Any advice? Thank you.

Hi - I tried that after I posted this question, and it turned out to be a previously installed update that was causing the problem. I had to restore my system to a previous date before the update was installed, and this has solved the problem. Thank you!

  • My laptop boot sector has failed. Installation DVD creation

    Hello

You will not be able to create a set of disks for installation directly from the recovery Partition - this need to be done via the apllication Recovery Media Creator of Windows.

It may be interesting to try to repair the following boot sector

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Download the ISO from the link below.

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  One time created, or if you already have this, insert the rescue CD in Notepad and restart at the start of it.  Select repair your computer and choose the command prompt.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart the laptop.

    Hello

    ·        Since when are you facing this problem?

    ·        Remember to make changes to the system?

    ·        You are able to boot into safe mode without any problem?

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

I suggest to start in safe mode and check if the problem is resolved. Follow the steps mentioned below.

    a. restart the computer and keep tapping F8 until you reach the start menu.

    b. Select safe mode from the list and press ENTER.

Check if the problem persists. If the problem does not persist then, it might be that some startup item causes this problem. I suggest you perform a clean boot and check.

    Step 2:

Welcome to the HPCommunity, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I'll be happy to help you with your problem. I took a glance, Maintenance and Service of Guide for your model and it does not support a 500 GB hard drive. Material limitations for the size of the disc model-based hard max is 200 GB.

  • a useful laptop boot CD

I thought everyone would benefit from having one of these discs.  I would like to direct you to a site, Ultimate Boot CD. This utility contains many useful pieces of software that you can use to help solve computer problems.  This includes diagnostics to test the CPU, RAM, hard drives and other devices.

After you download the image of the site I linked to you will need to just burn the image to a disc.  It's very simple in subsequent editions of Windows.  Here is an article that explains how to burn a disc from an ISO bootable in Windows 7.  The instructions should be almost identical for Windows 8.

I suggest all users to keep this disc on hand in case they still need to perform checks on their material, or if your HP integrated tools stop working for some reason any.

I hope you find this information useful!

  • Black screen on the laptop boots.

My laptop screen is black. PENDANT POWERLIGHT is on. The CPU fan is running. Two beeps at regular intervals. Pressing on the CTRL ALT DEL and replace battery etc doesn't help. HP laptop / Vista operating system. Any help to solve this problem is greatly appreciated.

    Riadh

    Hello

"beep" mistakes do not set normally. You seem to have an underlying problem in the hardware of your laptop.

And closing can be a related problem of heat as well as for lack of material.

Clean the vents, etc. and use them in a well-ventilated place and do not use on top of bed covers, etc.

You should have discovered the Bios in your laptop computer of information online for your laptop and use the links that I you provided with to find out what that these intended 'beeps'.

    See you soon.

  • While laptop booting, goes to a black or dark gray screen instead of on the Office

When I turn on my laptop it sometimes goes to a black screen or gray dark instead of my desktop, how can I stop this from happening?

    * original title - dark gray screen when turned on laptop *.

    Hi OfeliaJohnson

1 during how long have you had this problem?
    2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    Method 1 :
You can check if you are able to start properly in safe mode. In safe mode; you have access to only the drivers and base files. Check out the link to start the computer in safe mode and then check-
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 2:

You can check if you can use the last known good configuration. It's a Windows startup option that uses the most recent system settings that worked correctly. Whenever you turn your computer off and Windows shuts properly, important system settings are saved in the registry. Then it starts Windows with the last configuration of registry and the pilot who has worked successfully.

Please refer to the below links to get help on the issue.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/using-last-known-good-configuration

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

    Method 3:

If the problem persists you can perform a restore of the system to a previous point, when the issue was not present. The System Restore tool uses points of restore to return the system files and settings to an earlier point in time. You can use it to restore the operating system to a point in time where you have not experienced the problem.

Note: When you use System restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To do this, there must be a restore point from the system in which the connection was successful.

Please refer to the below of the help links on performing a system restore.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/system-restore-frequently-asked-questions

    I hope this helps.
