"SyncPro" caused gel

I am running Vista Ultimate SP2 on a Dell XPS420 with McAfee AV.  It worked well with a stability index of system 8-9 for the last 2 months.  Yesterday, I was working with only a few open apps, MS money and checked a box, when suddenly the screen froze.  The keyboard and USB mouse doesn't work so I could not do a normal shutdown and has been able to.  First tap the power button produces a list of applications that are open, including a so-called "SyncPro prevents stop."  Never heard of SyncPro, and a search of my hard drives that it produces no references.  A Google search finds an app named "SyncPro Backup 2.1" but have never installed as I use Genie Backup Manager (which works like a dream, BTW).  Can anyone throw any light on what is SyncPro, causing the gel and how can I prevent this from happening again?

A lot of TIA,

Tony.

Thank you very much both.  It turns out that my intuition was good - SyncPro is a program used by Ewallet from Ilium Software, which also produced a Microsoft .NET error - see their response below: -.

"Please contact Ilium Software. SyncPro is just a name - it's synchronization for portfolio pieces that are just a part of the program like everything else. However, windows sync progress are titled with SyncPro, so if you try to shut down your computer when a synchronization is in progress, Windows will tell you that SyncPro blocking the stop.

I don't know if the accident that you fell was related to eWallet or eWallet has begun to synchronize your computer went to close.

However, these .NET errors are related to eWallet and that bug has been fixed in eWallet 7.2 - download here. »

I installed V7.2 and so far the .NET error reappeared.  I cross my fingers on the cause of the accident.

Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.

Tony.

  • Recovery disks did not work! Reinstall bunk! Ideas?

    Hey guys,.

I had problems freezing during startup on my vaio vgn-aw120j with windows premium 64 bit and couldn't get 30secs without making it not responsive, so I tried to run the startup of the vaio recovery partition repair. Message said that windows could not fix the problem automatically. So I tried of the recovery DVDs I made a few months earlier. Same question. Ran check disk and he said that the main file table has been damaged on the c drive and cannot be repaired. So I used the recovery DVDs to do a fresh install (don't forget it comes to 1 set of 3 DVDs of recovery made from vaio care assistant several months until symptom has shown and is not the 130 MB of recovery disks that you can dl from neosmart.com - which I also tried). I install with the same problem but intensified by getting only windows to start about 1/3 of the time and just freezes on loading for 2/3 screens. Tried to wipe off all the drives and partitions (reset the value of drive to zero and start over). Reinstalled again. Unable to get a boot safe mode at all. The list of driver loading screen freezes before departure. Running windows normally causes gel 100% of the time, usually before the logon screen.

Currently, I have a recovery partition which does not seem to help (because it is created automatically during the installation), a primary partition with my operating system does not start properly and some DVD that does not correct the problem.

What should do? Pop $70 for recovery vaio-issued discs, assuming that those I created is corrupt? It's a disc or hard drive controller arm?

    Please help and thank you.

AVG 9 turns off Windows Defender by design.

In FAQ AVG: http://www.avg.com/us-en/faq.num-2672' Please note that Windows Defender is only disabled and not removed from the computer.
It is important preventing conflict between AVG and Windows Defender. As they are security applications, they will try to check you work with files. Because they will do it at the same time, conflicts may arise. These may cause gel, accidents or slowdown in the computer. It is generally not recommended to use more than one product of security on a computer. "Microsoft Security MVP, 2004-2010

Thank you! It totally slipped my mind to verify that! After have toyed around for a few minutes here, I found that by default programs are run on integrated graphics card when on battery or power supply. However, when the load, it seems that during the purification of sequences he keep a discreet graphics which, then, for some reason causes gel. When it does not switch to the discrete card, so no question of a battery. I went into the control panel Nvidia and changed the default settings to run the program on the Nvidia card always from the outset and until now the problems seem to have disappeared! For some reason, it was to pass between the two different graphics processors that was causing me problems. Thanks again for your help, I can't believe that slipped my mind.

  • Update causing issues/gel commissioning

Bought a new computer with Windows 7 Ultimate edition.  Once the computer has been hooked, it calls for several (at least 57) updates.  A lot of updates failed.  After their small batch update, the computer is up to date and no other updates were needed (as of 01/03/11).  Now that updates are made the computer hangs during startup upward at the black screen "starting Windows."  It is bad to restore only that the retroactive system to 'plug-in' original 12/26 date will allow him to launch correctly so it updates.  Nobody knows who these updates 57 or so bad?  At this point, I'm ready to return the new computer and get something that does not use Windows because it's very frustrating.

    Hi nancevil,

First of all, I would say that you perform the clean boot procedure to verify if a third-party program installed on the computer is causing the problem after installing the updates.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

If the previous step fails, then you will need to install the updates in two numbers to see what update is causing the issue and also temporary disable the security software on the computer during the installation of updates.

    Disable the anti-virus software

    I hope this helps!

  • How to remove a file that causes the folder that it is in gel

The file is downloaded demo, game of Eleusis, in the My Documents folder. A touch on the folder or file inside causes computer freeze, requiring the use of the Task Manager to escape. Then it is still a minute or two until the pc is still usable. On occasion, he needs even pulling the plug to shut down the pc.

I tried to remove the My Documents folder, but Windows will not allow that.

    Help please.

I don't have to assume that the program the file belongs to is listed in the control panel. Add/Remove programs.

The only suggestion I have is to start in safe mode and see if you can remove it.

  • 8.1 win gel caused by the SSDS?

Hi, I have a predator G3622. The original SSD it came with broke and I replaced it under warranty, I don't know what model it came originally with but there is now a Micron C400 64 GB SSD. Anyway, it freezes quite regularly, the system stops responding and must be restarted with the power button. I went through all the rest - sleep timers, BIOS etc updates, device drivers, and pretty much the only thing that I find myself with if for the SSD firmware must be updated. I saw a thread on another forum on SSD Micron causing regular freezes. The thing is, the site Web of the Micron, I can't find a compatible update UEFI (although they say that separate updates are required for UEFI systems), and I don't know if they are offered from Acer because I don't know if he some scheme standard (or if it is an equivalent replacement). Any ideas what to do?

As far as I know you can Flash the firmware Crucial M4 to Micron C400, since they are the same unit.

You can ask support Crucial just to be sure.

  • CS6 DW and PS CS6 using "file info" causes accident + gel

Whenever I try to use "File Info" in Photoshop or Dreamweaver CS6, a gel, or the accident is the result, and must force them to leave. Can't find the details by using the similar problem keyword search.

The only thing I did different is lately I've been working with a few images 1.5 GB. 6 MB of ram brandi okay, slowing down only on some filters and a few tools, specifically the tool clone.

    Mac Pro (early 2009)

    6 GB 1066 MHz

    OS X 10.8.5

    Thanks in advance...

Force Quit means that it froze, and you do not have a crash at all.

  • Problems of causing classic vista of gel-crash games or force him to leave Windows (vista 64, multi-core)

I have problems running games on new computer (and some older) on vista 64-bit. Either the game starts to slow down and "jump" a bit, until she (usually) suddenly freezes (also sound), while single force-rotation - in the distance, the computer is the option. Another time a game just leaves for windows where a message arrives "is a problem and the program must be closed. Is this a classic vista problem? The computer is multi-core. Should I upgrade to Win7?

    Hi Mhusoy,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

You have installed the latest drivers for the graphics card?

Is - what your computer crashes alone while you play games or of otherwise?

You can if check if the games you try playing are compatible with Windows Vista or not. Follow the link and check the details.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/default.aspx

You try to install the games you play in Windows XP mode and check if you get the same question.

    Run the program compatibility Wizard

    1. Open the program compatibility Wizard by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking programs, and then clicking use an older with this version of Windows program.
    2. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

If you are unable to install a program, insert the installation for the program and, using the wizard disk, navigate to the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The wizard is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

  • WINDOWS AND MICROSOFT OFFICE 07 UPDATES CAUSE AND EXPLORE 08 GEL

I have my computer set to update every night at 3:00 with microsoft update.  After all this is what you recommend, then I will.  It seems that every time you update a Service Pack or something of each of your programs goes haywire.  Since SP3 has been installed, whenever I go to one of my Microsoft Office programs use the program hangs and I have to restart several times before it will work.  I use the Outlook Connector and windows live features too.  Internet Explorer 8 is also horrible.  It crashes more than I can mention.  I would not necessarily a problem if there were other programs of other companies that locked up but this IS YOUR OWN BUSINESS PROGRAMS THAT YOU CAN can't DO WORK TOGETHER!  DON'T TEST YOU SOMETHING LIKE THAT?  Is there a way to fix this so that I can spend more time working and less time fixing?

    Thank you

    Hi KIMBLET,
In your first post you mentioned clearly that after that the installation of SP3 MS Office programs freezing. For your information, Vista has only 2 Service Pack (SP1 and SP2) and exited the SP3 for XP, that's the reason why I suggested please contact XP forums.

If you can provide the correct information, we will be happy to help you.

  • Pavilion 17-g192nr: Rick clicking on documents causing the hourglass and gel

I have a new laptop of 17-g192nr Pavilion 10 running windows.   When I go into documents and right-click on a document to remove, my cursor turns into an hourglass and stays there and freezes the laptop.   I have to close completely out of everything.    I read that what happens as well to others.    I fix this?

I called Microsoft this morning. They have remote access to my computer and corrects the problem. Apparently, he had something to do with Windows 10. Thank you for your gelp but I'm ready now.

  • Keyboard causes Vista hang on startup/gel when it is plugged

So I seem to have a rather unusual problem.

When I boot vista and my Wired USB keyboard Logitech is plugged, Vista hangs at a black screen after that bar loading screen and my optical USB Wired mouse green turns off (in safe mode it seems to hang crcdisk.sys).  If I don't have my wired keyboard but I have not my wired mouse Vista starts fine but when I try to plug in the keyboard Vista crashes and I can't move the cursor.  It doesn't seem to be a work autour: if I leave the mouse and the keyboard unplugged and plug them in to at about the same time after that Vista starts, both work very well.  In fact, I can unplug the keyboard and reconnect it back with no problem.

I recently bought a new hard drive and had to install Vista on it.  This problem appeared to occur at the time, I installed SP1 and persisted in my current state to SP2.

I tried to update the drivers while the keyboard works by both windows as well as search download driver of Logitech Web site.  I do not have another keyboard I could try, but it worked well before re-installing my Vista and works fine on my laptop (which is running XP).

    Any ideas?

Of course, looks like it's maybe the keyboard if the drivers are up-to-date.
