Sysprep starts when taking snapshots

Hello

A very weird situation.

Windows 2012 R2, deployed from model using customizations.

We had a few problems with the server which he left the field a couple of times and now, when we are troubleshooting we can see that whenever we take a snapshot of the server it triggers sysprep customization.

I looked in these newspapers:

-%WINDIR%\Temp\vmware-imc\

-%WINDIR%\System32\Sysprep\Panther

-% WINDIR%\Panther\,

-%WINDIR%\Panther\Unattendgc

Of course I can empty all these places and try again, but I am very interesting about why it works.

Has anyone else seen elsewhere? Almost have brooked internet of my research on Google...

vSphere vCenter 5.5 U1

vSphere ESXi 5.1

Hello

I solved my problem. That's how I did it.

First deleted any folder % WINDIR%\Temp. In fact only it is essential to clear, \vmware-imc\

Saw instant once it creates %WINDIR%\Temp\vmware-imc\guestcust.log

And also whenever I rebooted the VM, I saw 'VMware Image personalization in progress... »

Found this KB:

Find the right value here:

changed to only this:

Find that the same values here and also changed:

Found a blog post on the same question:

Because I only have a VM affected, I went the way manual and changed in the Configuration settings.

Since the Client vSphere running on a Windows virtual machine:

1. turn off power the virtual machine.

2. right click on the VM, then click on change settings.

3. click on the Options tab > advanced (general) > Configuration settings.

4 locate the tools.deployPkg.fileName setting, double-click its value and delete it.< here="" i="" saw="" a="" value="" pointin="" to="">

5. click on OK, and then OK to save the change.

6. turn on the virtual machine.

Now everything works fine

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

Do a check with some malware malware, analysis of programs on the Windows computer.

You need to scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.

  • Tecra R850 starts when you open the lid

    Hello

    I recently bought a 2nd hand Toshiba Tecra R850.

Is it normal for the laptop start loading Windows, open the lid?

I can answer myself. I went to the BIOS and there is an option for the laptop to start automatically on opening the lid. I put this to disabled.

  • L50 - B satellite will not start when the battery is completely discharged

    Hello

My Toshiba L50 - B won't start when the battery is fully drained but connected to the power outlet.
I try to work most of the time on the battery to keep the battery in good shape, but when I forgot to turn off the battery drains and the system will not start when I plug in the adapter.

The battery charge indicator is orange light as it should. Only when the battery is fully charged to 100%, it will run at startup and function normally after that. I tried to turn on the laptop several times during the charge cycle, but only when the charge indicator changes from yellow to white it starts. Tested for 2 bodies.

My old Toshiba always immediately turned on when I plugged the adapter even when the battery has been completely drained. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Thanks for responding... I hope well :-)

    Toshiba L50 - B
    Windows 8.1
Any standard/original setting since I only acquired this laptop a month ago.

The laptop should light up if the power adapter is plugged in and power the laptop corectly any if the battery is empty or during charge.

Please check the version of the BIOS that is available on your mobile phone and compare with the BIOS available on the page of the Toshiba UE driver
Maybe you need to update the BIOS, but to be honest, the history seems really odd to me and I m afraid that there could be some power supply electronic problem

So in the worst case, the laptop must be checked by authorized service provider.

Sometimes antivirus software might affect the start and might slow the procedure as a whole.

First of all, note that you should be concerned all the programs
starts automatically, not only those who enter in the system tray.
Not all the programs auto-start manifesting by an icon in the
    Status bar.

On each program, you don't want to automatically start, check its
Options to see if he has the choice of not start (make sure you)
Indeed choose not to run, not just a "don't show icon.
Optional). Many can easily and better be arrested like that. If that is not
work, run MSCONFIG from the start. Run the line, and then click the Startup tab.
Uncheck the programs that you do not want to automatically start.

However, if I were you, I wouldn't do it just for the application of
the minimum number of running programs. Despite what many people say
You should be concerned, not with the way that a lot of these programs
you run, but who. Some of them can degrade performance severely, but
others have no effect on performance.

Don't stop all programs to run willy-nilly. What you need to do
is to determine what each program is, what its value is up to you which
the performance cost is its running all the time. You can try
Internet search and ask questions about the details here.

Once you have this information, you can make a smart informed
decision on what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of.
