System Restore will not restore complete

My computer started running verrrry slowly, so I ran to the restoration of the system. I ran it several times, both in and out of Safe Mode, with different restore points, but the food never ends. I've also run System File Checker, but the system restore does not always end. I have XP pro, and all high priority updates are installed. I would be grateful for any suggestion, but please keep things simple. I'm not savvy in computer science.

Thank you.

I made a new user who had no Favorites (of course), logged as a user and just copied user Jose Favorites to the new favorites of the user folder and they appear in IE and work very well.  Favorites are just text files.  There is no register of edition.

rpggamergal - is there a reason that does not work?

If your user original is/was really altered, apparently tidy to subsequently remove it and if you change your registry database to point to the folders and files in the "corrupt" user account, they would all stop working.  Changing the registry will work (I think), but it's almost like cheating to me.

If you change the registry, every time you make a new favorite, he will enter the profile that have been corrupted. Does make sense?   If it is really corrupt, I would completely RID.

I don't think you should have made a new user first return to page 1.  This is not the problem with your system restore.

How your system restore works now by the way?  This is your original problem.  Now you introduce new users, copy the profiles, change the registry, etc..  I've never had to do these sorts of things just fix SR.

I think that your hole is to widen my friend...

    Hello

Step 2: You can also check if the problem persists in the clean boot state.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: HP Pavilion 15 laptop: System Restore completed successfully. The problem is not resolved.

About 3-4 weeks ago, my computer found himself in a reboot loop. I was not online at the time where he was probably not due to an update.

After going on the HP Web site, it was first suggested that the issue could be overheating due to dust. I followed the instructions but it does not work.

Diagnosis is directed which has determined that there are no problems with the hardware or memory.

Then the site suggested that I do a Refresh system or a system restore. I tried the cooling system. It did not work.

I contacted HP Tech Support hotline and they told me to update the drivers. Drivers cannot be updated / installed (by me at least) in Safe Mode, if it does not work.

Then told me the only choice I had was to do a Factory Reset/System Restore.  After the purchase of an external HARD drive and backup of my files, I tried to do the factory reset. I received a prompt to insert a disc, but computer did not come with a disc. If it does not work.

Then I was told by support that I had to buy "recovery disc" or a new copy of Windows 8.1. Technical support said it was the only way to solve the problem. By chance, I found another video that shows how to access recovery tool of real system since menu troubleshooting at start-up.

System recovery completed successfully. However, while creating the new installation of Windows 8.1 (implementation name, country, favorite colors, e-mail etc.) the original reboot loop problem started. If it does not work. Even worse, because the Windows installation is incomplete - and can complete because of the reboot loop - I can access more fashion is safe.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Miracles would net you have my firstborn (eat too in any case).

Okay, so I had to take the machine to a technician. What she said is that it was certainly not a hardware problem. Its best estimate is that my computer As witn infected a Trojan horse which subsequently transferred, entered the BIOS and corrupted partition.

Short history of Tech, they fixed by redoing the BIOS and installing a new copy of Windows 8.1. I asked about the other options that I received. She explained that a remote technical support could not fix the problem, nor recovery disks could solve the problem.

My advice to all who encounter such a complex problem, when you contact HP Support don't forget to request contact information for a local HP technician, licensed (I only asked for this in desperation by accident). Just in case your problem is not easily diagnosed or solvable, it might just save you some time, money and spare you confusion.

As for how I got infected with the Trojan possible in the first place, no idea. The only thing I can think is that I've opened an e-mail looking strange but legitimate to someone I didn't know. However, it was about 6 months ago and the problem started a month before, so I at least do not know if there is a link. However, it is always good advice not to open strange e-mails. Note that the technician did say that even if I had Norton installed, it would not be able to automatically detect the problem. (I wonder if I called Norton technical support if they could have helped or pointed me in the right direction faster. But even once, any comments or information I received from HP technical support gave usable clues. "And refresh the system that has been proposed did uninstall Norton).

So, I have a computer to work again. I hope this info can be useful to someone and avoid frustration. Thanks to everyone who took the time to read my post.

Yesterday my laptop shuts off and when I went to put it back on it would start start and then blue screened and restarted, continuing the cycle. I tried to use the system restore (Gets an error). To boot from a DVD, positioned on the BootOrder:

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    Hello

Do you have any other operating system installed on the computer?

The CD/DVD that you use to install Windows XP may be damaged and this is a possible reason why you cannot complete the installation of Windows XP.

You can check with another CD/DVD to install Windows XP. In the meantime, you can also check out this link that talks about the installation of Windows XP.

  • Windows will not start completely after you apply updates 14/08/2012.

The windows startup screen appears, and then the screen turns white with just the cursor.  The cursor is mobile.  Make a start with a lit boot record, it seems that many drivers do not load.

When processed the update restart and the laptop it worked fine for a few minutes, but then blue screened with a network driver error.  He continued to do so at every reboot.

I grew up in recovery mode and tried to restore about restoration of pre-upgrade.  The operation failed, and when starting, he started the above behavior.  Here are the last entries in the ntbtlog.txt file.

If you are not able to get safe mode then there is a lot of damage has been done.

I suggest slaving the hard drive to another computer to back up your data (or a boot disk OS which you leave copy on a USB device and backup your stuff).

Then wipe the hard drive clean (DBAN or KillDisk - both are free) and then using system restore restore disks.

  • system sounds will not play

    Dear Microsoft,

I felt a strange problem I was wondering that you could help me with.

For almost 48 hours now that I've lost the ability to play sounds on the computer system - don't be fooled here; I can play sounds through my headphones or the speakers, and I can play the audio file system in other programs.  It is only when you try to play through the 'Sounds' of the volume control Manager tab, all I get is an odd clicking effect.

It's almost as if the executable responsible for controlling audio files, performing the action attached, stopped working.  Can you tell me how to reset this feature?

  • Reference Dell system detect will not download

I have a Dell Inspiron 3647 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. It has 8 GB of RAM. Recently, I flashed the BIOS on the Dell Support website. It was version A04, and I flashed to version A05, without any problems. The next day I downloaded Dell system detect to check my complete system. Dell system detects is listed in my as installed Control Panel. The installing Dell system detects ran a few minutes (15 or 20), and then I got an error message that says: "the version of the BIOS is same or lower than the current Version of the BIOS. The installation will not continue.

Can someone tell me what this means and what I can do to fix the problem? Do a new installation of my Windows 7 help me?

    Thank you

This means that you are OK. The update of the BIOS worked. This should mean that the downloaded update is identical to what you have. I don't like this update program. It's confusing, and many have problems. You should ONLY do manual downloads and installation of just the BIOS or drivers you need. However, it is rarely necessary to download a BIOS updated or drivers. If you have problems with a piece of hardware, a new driver might help. Never a update BIOS unless find you other users or Dell it is absolutely necessary. Pilots don't usually cause problems if you download one that you don't need, but an update of the BIOS could brick the computer if something goes wrong, like a power glitch during installation.

  • Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 (64-bit) will not download completely stuck at 95%

I tried to install Service Pack 1 of Windows today on my laptop.  On one of my laptops with Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit operating system Windows Update downloaded (with 4 other updates) in about an hour and installed successfully during the shut down and restart.

However on my laptop main used with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1 stops downloading (although he says he always download or seems to be) to 95%.  The first time that I tried to download with 3 other updates to Windows, and it stuck.  I finally stopped after about 7 hours with it stuck at 95%.  Isolated, the other downloads and downloaded and installed after the reboot and did it in less than 15 minutes.  Then began to try to download only the Service Pack 1.  It has now been underway for six hours and is still stuck on download of 95%.

Another forum on the web had a message that the Service Pack 1 with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit will not download if you have installed language packs.  (Those who took me about 3-4 days to install and download due to make them one at a time because as a group they would get hung up.)  So I hope that I did not remove the language packs to get this Service Pack 1 installed on this machine.  I hope that Microsoft would have tested on a computer in Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with language packs installed but maybe not...

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I GAVE TO MY VISTA NOW, I HAVE JUST AS MUCH TROUBLE I DID BEFORE.  ABSOLUTELY, NO DOWNLOAD FROM ANYWHERE.  I WOULD BE HAPPY TO RETURN TO XP.  DEE

I feel for you Dolores it was extremely painful and tedious experience.  The final fix for my computer was going back to the origin by default with Windows Vista Home Premium on my computer.  Then load the software Windows 7 Ultimate.  Then the installation of updates about 100 + Windows which took place including Windows 7 SP 1.  All this has been done before loading another software (except Firefox and Chrome) on my computer.  I did it too before my security software loading, which – incidentally, roughly double the speed of downloads and other features of the computer.  Then after all the updates for Windows 7 has been done, I loaded with Microsoft Office Applications and its many updates.  After that I loaded my security software and checked for viruses.  Then rebuilt all the other features, software customization, etc. of this computer.  Literally, it took over a month to return to the same functionality that it had before the Windows 7 SP1 crashed the computer.  All I can say is thank God that I am religious about backing up files and folders, so I think I got about 95% of my files, folders, etc.

Since the reconstruction, I didn't "major" problems with Windows 7, but I cringe when I update Windows 7 via their process of updating every Tuesday.  I also try to update not updates at the same time or too large sizes in the updates, even if it takes more time to do it this way.  I also reboot after each update whether necessary or not.  I run two registry cleaners different at least once a week, or even more often as since the failure of catostrophic SP 1 of the operating system.

I will say this though, a lot of programs/software, I had that wouldn't work with Vista, all of a sudden work again with Windows 7.

    Good luck!

Original title: my systems page does not open after going into the control panel and then system and maintenance

my systems page opens not after going under maintenance then system and Control Panel. This shows simply "the page failed to load". I need to access this page to share files from one computer to the other. can anyone help?

    Hi Sarah Brown,.

    (1) remember you to make changes prior to this problem?

    (2) what is the complete error message you receive?

Method 1: Run the fixit available in the link below and check if that makes a difference

Difficulty of broken desktop shortcuts and common system maintenance tasks

Note: Fixit would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of data loss from that particular area.

    Method 2:
if a Protection of resources Windows (WRP) file is missing or is damaged, Windows may not behave as expected. Auditor of file system (CFS) scan to fix all of the corrupted system files. To do this, follow the steps mentioned in the link below:
