Hello, I need help, my A33 does not start on a hard drive. It is to see the drive hard in the bios and even by operating the drive when you go to install. But as soon as it will boot to the hard drive, it is just a black screen. It is very strange that you can see the hard drive in the bios and even with a diagnostics disk. I can see, scan it and check it by starting with a diagnostic disk, but when I start the computer, it doesn't do anything.
Stand by. Your ad is so confused. When you read can you understand what you wrote?
BIOS recognizes the HARD drive correctly, no?
When you use bootable disk for the installation of the OS is properly recognized HDD?
You can install OS using the original recovery disc or by using the Microsoft installation disc?
I have a laptop HP DV5 with Vista - 2 years and more under warranty. He had some problems with Windows Update error codes, I did a system restore to a point a little backward. This does not solve the problem, so I tried to cancel restoring the system back to the State of our days. This was fine, but then the system locked up when he tried to restart itself-it has attempted to restart for 45 minutes and got nowhere, so I turned off. This throw Windows completely, as the system restore was not full yet, so now that my computer will boot the HP logo and start up options, but then get hung up trying to load windows (I have a black screen with a scroll bar down cycles endlessly with Microsoft Corporation written below)
Bottom line - I can't get the computer to boot windows, and system recovery does not work. Tried directly from the hard drive and vain and ordered HP-put one disk disks this morning, once removed from the HP screen, I get the bar "Windows loading files" at the bottom, which ends in about a minute, but then it just goes back to its normal load upward, with the scroll bar and Microsoft Corporation at the bottom of the screen. So I can't open basically even the system restore window.
I just ran the self-test of the primary hard drive and had hard disk Test do not. I'm not particularly computer saavy (I didn't know that to do this test in reading this forum), if anyone can tell me what I should do next? I don't want to go somewhere and get screwed!
The result of the primary Hard Drive Self Test means your hard drive is defective and must be replaced. It is the HARD drive in my dv5.
Hard drive replacement is not difficult (generally remove two screws from the cover of the HARD drive on the bottom of your laptop, remove a futher two screws holding the disc in place then pulling on one leg to lift the reader. Then unscrew the metal casing around your old drive - often called the caddy drive - attaching to your new drive, insert the new drive, fix it with two screws and replace the cover. Then simply insert your recovery DVDs to load Vista on your new drive. Here is a Youtube video showing this.
I hope this helps.

my computer does not recognize my external hard drive enclosure. I went to fry and the internal hard drive and the speaker works. I brought my computer to a friend's House and he read it to his house. It turns out that I had to put the jumpers on CSEL. When I got home and tried to plug it in, it won't read it again. I tried to troubleshoot it and he said that my mass storage device has a problem with the drivers. the thing is, he worked at the House of my friend with my computer. I do not understand and it makes me crazy. the only difference is that the reader reads to my friend's House and won't be at the mine.
Did you use the same cables in your home that have been used in your friends?
The physical location being the only variable might mean that a wire or cable is loose.
The reader must be reinstalled in the hard disc enclosure.
I recommend that you check for loose connections.
Your PC is connected to Internet at your friend's House?

Original title: why I can not reformat my upgrded from vista to w7 disk
I can't reformat my vista upgraded to windows 7, as I tried to add another hard drive, which will not take my recovery disks. The message to reboot
You try to add an additional hard drive or you try to replace the current hard drive with a new one?
Recovery/restore disks are specific to OEM (made by the manufacturer that also makes your computer) unless you are lucky enough to actually have on the contrary an OEM copy of the operating system in question (Windows Vista I guess) and it is bootable and will guide you through a real installation of the operating system and not a "restore image." What means what, is supported by the OEM in question for the method - no Microsoft.
Now - you may be able to perform a new installation of Windows 7 using the Windows 7 upgrade media you have - depending on how you got it...?

Toshiba Satellite A135-s7403 HARD drive failed, I have replaced the 80 GB with a WD Scorpio blue 250 GB hitachi. When I try to restore with recovery disk came with the laptop, it passes through two discs 1 and 2 and starts with the start-up of windows for the first time and then runs to the greenish with the spinner blue screen please wait... thne black screens for a second or 2 and then back to spinner, please wait and then it appears the box "installation of windows could not configure windows to run on hardware. This computer' only option is to click OK.
Where to click ok, you get an another msg that says "windows could not complete the installation, install reinstall windows. I tried like 50 times now. Startup Repair indicates the root = failure cause while the installation program is underway. I know that my drive are good, as I adjusted used then about a month when I upgraded the memory because the original memory 512 MB was not enough o well running vista.
To be honest I n don't know what the problem is there but can you get the original installation disc of Microsoft and try to install the OS, just to see if the OS installation will complete successfully?

Need help on a laptop Z575 age of 2 years that immediately after an automatic update of windows, will not start either from the hard disk or restore DVDs (blue screen). Does not start in safe mode, not booting from a rescue of third party DVD. Attempt to start, it will show you the ability to start the Startup Repair tool. Repair shows that it is unable to fix with the detail following problem error messages:
Signature of the problem 1: 6.1.7600.16385
Signature of problem 2: 6.1.7600.16385
Signature of the problem 3: unknown
Signature of the 4:21200196 problem
Signature problem 5: auto failover
Signature of the problem 6:7
Signature of the 7 problem: bad driver
OS version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
Normally think that the hard drive has failed or that windows update caused a software problem, but the inability to boot from any restore disk that makes me think that there is another serious problem with the hardware of the laptop.
Any help would be appreciated. THX
Additional note: when you try to boot from a restore disc, blue screen, error message:
Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF78DA640, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
It is a hardware failure that cannot be restarted soft.
I also removed the hard drive and RAM, reinstalled and rebooted, no change.
Additional note: I was able to access the hard drive with a recovery of old program, focused on the (SpaceFM) ram charged through the DVD player. Hard drive data appears intact. Still does not start from the hard disk or a DVD of windows system.
Thank you. Rather than buying a 4 GB or more large key USB comes from put this into hard drive replacement. Installed correctly, boots very well now. No other error of the optical drive... and no explanation I can see, but that's it.
Unless something else pops up we'll just call cela a HARD drive failed after 2 years of common use. Thanks again.
I just set up my new laptop Inspiron and 'Dell DataSafe Local Backup Basic Edition' pops up advising me to "Create system recovery media" restore my system to its critical failure of hard disk factory settings.
It gives me the option to save this on a disk or a USB Flash drive. I have a drive hard laptop "Western Digital My Passport Essential' that I would use for this, that's why I chose the option of USB Flash drive. However, I get a message "no USB key not found.
Can someone tell me what I need to do to store the backup recovery system on my laptop hard drive? (I know a recordable DVD will be probably easier, but I did not and do not want to buy a bunch of them just for that!)
Any notice received with gratitude.
I think you may be stuck. It may be opposing on the hard drive because there are already data on this topic.
You have a friend that can give/sell you a blank DVD?
My Win-8 new operating system will not read and allow access to my external hard drive although "Mgr. device recognizes his existence and said it is working normally." The mass of Maxtor storage device icon.
What should I do? Three weeks have been wasted fighting this same problem replaced the external HD iMicro unit.
Go to disk management and assign the letter of the partition on the drive (s).
I have a disk enclosure external hard iomega using a Western Digital 500 GB disk. My HP Pavilion runs Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit). The first time that I have it plugged into my computer, it 'installed drivers. Then gave me a message that it must be formatted in order to be used. When I click on 'Start', it gives me a message that I will lose all my data on the volume; When I click on 'OK' I have 'Windows couldn't complete the format ".
Using Windows Explorer, I don't see the player.
Using computer management, I can see the drive. Details: K:\; 465.76 GB RAW; Healthy (Primary Partition). If I right click on the blue bar, I can try to format. I get the same set of messages. I can open it through computer management, but I can't put any data on it: every time I try, I get "failed to find this article. It is no longer in [location of the file]. Check the location of the item and try again. "It will search the file to open it on my computer, but not to copy it to the external hard drive.
I know the drive works, as I bought it from a friend who has upgraded to a 2 TB drive.
I suggest that temporarily disable you security software to see if it solves the problem.

Have a HP machine that came with Vista. Bought an upgrade to Windows 7. Ran fine for several months. Then the hard drive failed. Installed a new hard drive. Partitioned and formatted. Windows 7 upgrade will not install. The only copy of Vista was on the hard drive crashed. A way to force the update to install. I have the license keys and the legal copies - simply nothing to install the first. Any help would be great.
If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.
How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
Click on drive Options
Select the disc/s click on Delete
Click on apply
Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation
Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.
When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer
Click on properties
Scroll down to the Windows Activation
Click the link x days before activation.
Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.
Enter the product key
Select the Activation of the phone
Click Next when you enter your key page
Select your country
Click Next, call the number listed
Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.
Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent
They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it
Click next to complete the activation.
The controller is enabled for all SATA connectors and the drive is one of the SATA 3.0 Gbit/s ports, I've heard is a way to get through. However, it did not, either. Can anyone help? Here is what I am dealing with, set up a few hours ago:-Intel DH77KC card-Intel Core i7 - 2600K 3.4 Ghz processor-Disk hard Western Digital 1 TB black-Corsair Vengeance 16 GB of Ram-Corsair TX650 80Bronze-Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bitIt starts, and then Windows 7 gets no more than it will not be installed on the hard disk. I can't make a new partition, either, nor can I format the drive in the window. The BIOS settings do not exactly help because I'm not using RAID and FDI does not do.Maybe there's something wrong.
Try to remove 3 branches if theyre 4 GB each. See if it installs. If so, put the 3 branches after windows has been installed
This BIOS is on it at the mo?
