T400 with Intel 5350

I just installed Intel 5350 card in my laptop. with connections of 3 antennas. I guess 2 antennas are Wifi and WiMAX. Is this good?

For some reason, the speed of the Wifi is shown as 130Mbps. The router I use is DIR - 685 supports 300Mbps.  Speed shouldn't be around 300Mbps?

Thank you

I don't know exactly, but I think that the 5350 actions three antennas between Wifi (uses all three antennas) and WiMax (probably uses two).

To achieve 300 Mbps for the WLAN (the 5350 should reach same 450 Mbps with a suitable router), we need to change the width of the channel of the card to 40 MHz instead of the default 20 MHz.

To do this (i) Manager open the unit, (ii) to find your Intel card in the network adapters section, (iii) right-click and choose Properties, (iv) select the tab advanced, (v) for the width of the channel (band 2.4 or 5.2, whichever you use, but you can set it up safely for both) choose 'auto' instead of '20 MHz.

You should then be able to achieve the maximum transfer of your router is capable of.

  • T400 resume mode after breaking with Intel ME features

    Hello

I have a Lenovo T400 with XP SP3. Eve was always works well, but yesterday, I disabled the functions Intel ME and AMT in BIOS and also disabled the Intel AMT services in Windows.

When I pressed the power button on this morning, I heard the hard drive upward rotation, but standby indicator is stuck on and the screen is not triggered. I had to force a power off to regain control.

The prime suspect is the technology of Active Management, because I have not installed anything special that can interfere with power management. For now, I did have time to try to roll back the changes that I made, but I'm wondering if anbody has similar problems or has an explanation ready, before you start to do things that can aggravate the problem.

    Thank you

    /_urka

Reset the security chip, as suggested in another thread tobes78, fixed the problem.

My T400 working properly for a few days now.

Before resetting the security chip, I tried all the following without result, but some updates may be needed to fix it to work:

    -updated BIOS

-update drivers ACPI and PM software

    -Disable Intel ME and AMT

I left ME Intel / AMT disabled, because I really didn't need and I dared not try to again.

However, he is not sure if the problem was caused by a firmware or a hardware fault and that can cause problems in the future.

    Bye,.

  • Portege M400 + WiMAX Intel 5350

    Bought a card pushed!
    WiFi is accessible
WiMAX is not even in the dispatcher of problems!

    What is a problem?

    Hello

To be honest I m not very well what problem you have.
I see that you have bought Intel 5350 WiMAX card and updated the Portege M400

I found info on the page than the Intel WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350 Intel and Intel WiMAX/WiFi Link 5150 are family of network adapters wireless IEEE 802.16e and 802.11a/b/g/Draft-N1 which operates in the range of 2.5 GHz for ghosts of WiMAX and 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz for WiFi.

To be honest I m uncertain quote if this card is compatible with this laptop.
To my knowledge there is no Draft N support.

But here is some info on this product I found on the page of Intel:

  • NetBook HP 5101 and Intel 5350 or 5150 WiMax/WiFi

Will be the feature of an Intel 5350 WiMax or WiMax/WiFi 5150 mini PCIe card work in a netbook HP 5101?

Can anyone recommend a source in the United States other than ebay/unauthorized of 5350 Intel or Intel 5150?

I'm considering buying a HP 5101 using Clear WiMax service.

Here's what I've found so far.

The 5101 has two expansion slots; used for a Wifi card and one for an map WWAN broadband. Judging by the illustration in the maintenance manual, the Wifi card is installed in a mini PCIe interface with room for only one PCIe Mini Card half form factor and the map broadband is installed in an interface mini PCIe with room for a form factor PCIe Mini full-size.

Repair strives to mention that Wifi and WWAN cards are not interchangeable.  Does anyone know if the slot used for the WWAN card's owner instead of a PCIe Mini interface? Or is the warning related to antennas pre-wired? Again, judging by the repair, the HP Mini 5101 has two antennas for the WWAN card slot and two antennas for the location of WIFI card.

    Intel adapters using 3 antennas.

The technical details of the Intel 5150 shows that it is made both full and half length PCIe Mini factors.

The technical specifications of the Intel 5350 shows that it is available in only the full-length form factor PCIe Mini.

I'm a technician of laptop repair for a long time.

It's been my experience that when implementing (wimax/wifi intel 5150/5350/6250/6350 cards), those self (OF ALLOWS of SAY EBAY) you have the biggest obstacles single to overcome other than physical size (HEIGHT HALF/FULL / OTHER) of the embedded mini pci express card and possibly requiring a 3rd antenna during the upgrade of the wifi installed mfg in HP/Lenovo laptops It's a whitelist BIOS boot block.

What is a bios bootblock, although HP argues that, in order to prevent end users to change their card wifi (Embedded), they installed firmware in the BIOS, start, seeking the hexadecimal id for the MFG cards identification / model and especially the seller (AKA cards brand), anyway in the BIOS, there is a short list of these identifiers for maybe the cards from 2 to 8 that HP has tested and approved to be used normally pre-installed in the laptop.

Why though HP claims that the end user could if possible COULD change their wifi/wimax card to a higher version powered to another country or region and violating thus the design of the FCC approved on the laptop.

Quite frankly HP in all likelihood very insidious alterior reasons, based on my previous experience, HP is very reluctant to support new technologies.

As an example my HP DV8125NR laptop AMD X 64 processor was touted as 64 bit HP however he had a 32 bit operating system installed and no driver 64-bit available for a VERY LONG... IT OF TIME!

I was obliged to get 64-bit drivers for a laptop ACER UK with the same chipset, which did not work until I opened the Device Manager and cut and pasted hp same chipset vendor new in the drivers of acer uk id so the drivers have recognized and installed by windows, to the best of my knowledge until I did that there was zero no where who had done to overcome the HP footdragging.

WiMAX is available in 54 or more and and a constantly growing number of U.S. cities and HP is once again kicking and screaming like your child, on the way to the doctor to get an important and thereby losing millions of new mobile computer laptop/netbook/and other sales of device. Stupid as the village fool.

At the present time, there is that one exception I know Best Buy is in partnership with Clear/wimax provider and from December 2010, they have Wimax 34 on sale in their stores and online.

One and only model HP is Wimax enabled it's a DM4-1165DX, it's certainly very soft for someone who has good eyes and is just an intenet browser or grapics and/or an intensive user of processor.

It's nice because it has a robust aluminium case is less than 5 lbs very thin / light / a about 5-7 hours of autonomy and of course preconfigured internal WIMAX 4 g

HP makes me crazy it of like they don't want wimax of work related to one of their products in the home, if you look at the drivers for this laptop, they are listed as WLAN (extended lan) not Wimax bo a DRAW! HP Total Care seems to know their head from a hole in the ground when it comes to Wimax, PERIOD believe me I tried, what follows.

OK I know that you want to buy a HP dv6 or dv7 select edition, with the housing in aluminium, I7 processor, blu-ray rom / rw supermulti lightscribe DVD, only 640 GB HDD at 7200 RPM, 8 GB ram, (either pre-installed internal tv or via express card adapter) gigabit lan and last not less 1 GB dedicated graphics oh and of course free Lojack 1 year to 4 years flight tracking data / remote deletion of data services.

OK and especially not finally and especially a WIMAX/WIFI card pre-installed embedded well no matrix HP has none this option, 2 options are 1) wifi abgn nd) 2 for $25 more wifi abgn with bluetooth.

    ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

    HOW STUPID IS THAT????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

OK, I will admit there is a very slight slight possibility that wimax cards intel are not compatible with the combos of moterboard intel chipset processor used in the DV6/7/8 series, however I see many laptops from Toshiba who have mothers similar I think a m55 with Wimax chipset?

I want a HP for the offered lojack, which is enhanced by the presence of a map of wimax integrated to transmit its location constantly If stolen when it is powered either, and some of the best pricing offers on laptop key from 500 to 750 GB edge i7/bluray 1 GB / 8 GB.

I made more than 50 calls to Hp and they are obviously not embrace Wimax and obstructs even its use and implementation on 99.999% of accounts, reasons might be a lack of bribes $ providers of wimax, the costs and difficulties to support technology wimax users issues, (IE traing Indian/Filipino caregivers), possibly hardware , and one that I think is high on the list is planned obsolescence where you buy your laptop and immediately know that he doesn't attack Edge internet connectivity and due to the greed of HP they will assume you will then within a year almost immediately buy another laptop because you CANNOT upgrade your wireless card which would be almost as simple as installing ram more grand/more, due to their insidious START BLOCK. I would be not so likely to choose the last if it weren't so astutely aware of House a lot of $$$ HP has spent to make their ink jet printers will be very difficult to maintain or rebuild. How is this dome of their printer plastic records would have a number of plastic hidden catches (ADULT VERIFICATION) that each must be depressed at the same time to open the case of the printer, so I don't know how Xnal retentive, they can be.

CORRECTIONS: an I thought I would just buy my laptop preconfigued less adapter integrated wimax and the period of return I would go to Best Buy and I would buy the Hp DM4 - 1165DX Wimax laptop and during the reporting period, I exchange the cards internal wireless and then install the drivers intels dm4-1165 connection manager and wimax on the DV6/7.

This COULD overcome the bootblock HP DM4 card marked may recognize as being on the whitelist of HP approvred cards.

I already tried to call 1-800-hp-invent for support for the DM4-1165DX that I could have a number of spare part

for embedded wimax/wifi card so that after I swapped the cards back I could get one directly at hp to install in my edition select DV7/DV6, for reasons I DO NOT understand they say that they have no part number of replacement listed... JESUS!

OK how not who has NOT I repeat NOT average Joe surmounted the obstacle of boot block?

Well this would have completely no warranty cancellation and just like how I built 64 drivers as mentioned previously a VERY VERY VERY VERY TECHNICALLY HABILES PERSON SMART... COULD get a bios freeware hex editor and they could open the Device Manager and get the pid / mfg/supplier codes listed in the menu dropdown descriptors device for installed HP wireless card, then you could install the card wimax of ebay than elsewhere and you could write once again down the same information again. NOW you can get the latest version of the bios of your laptop and open the file in a hex editor and you can then use the search feature to locate the id of device/vendoe/pid of the pre-installed maps hidden in the the bios code in hexadecimal code (after the course converted to hex if necessary) then you can simply replace these data with those of the map of wimax (which may have 2 sets as the map can have WiMAX via the usb port and wifi via pci-e express, although both on the same map) which requires 2 sets of inputs for replacement.

You would of course have to create a new checksum and save and BIG risk this flash as your new BIOS.

Can it be done bios bootblocks YES certainly unblock, BUT WHY WHY WHY? HP puts its faithful buyers through this RIGOUR? FOR $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Thats why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH some laptops cannot and never will not support wimax even though they have a mini slot pci-e inside somewhere even if not bootblocked and or have a motherboard chipset compatibility delivers wimax/wifi card intel.

Why well when out 1 card pci - e connector minicards standard did not include either a push/pull connection usb or often a wireless switch disable hardware, some hardcore people have installed a resistance on their wireless card to pull up the signals to disable wifi wimax enable and or stuck on the contact on the wimax pci-e card.

One must understand (many WON 't) usb and pci-e express offers 2 different ways to connect devices to the laptop via an internal card in the new laptops, in the oldest of potentially no usb connector = no support for usb in subdivision wimax to the Board of Directors.

  • problem with intel proset & atheros and M30X

    Hello

I have problem with Intel PROSET. When I opened this program can't do anything just because my Wireless 2200 BG is not be listed in "network components. Moreover in Atheros I'm not able to do anything as well. It can suggest the problem with the driver, but I managed to connect to my friends wireless net. What can be wrong?

I have my own installation of Win XP SP2 with all drivers and programs of Toshiba tools & utilities. (I had the same problem with recovery of victory)

Thank you in advance for your help!
    Happy user of T M30X

    Hello

I guess you have INTEL Wireless Card. After installation of SP2 to check if there is some conflicts in your device manager. You can update driver for the wireless card. It is always good. :)

As BOB said go to https://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com (then adapter & download of drivers and downloads).

It is driver for your Intel (V. 8.0.12.9000W2BG) wireless card. Install it and check is there no conflicts in Device Manager.
If this is not the case, turn your wireless card and FN + F8 to enable the wireless connection.

If you re router wireless works correctly and if your WLAN has a name you see now. I know it's sometimes very complicated to establish the connection, but you must try all the options.

  • HP 15-f209wm with Intel Celero: need help with a unusual amenities. Install windows 7 on a new computer windows 10.

    Hello

I am really puzzled here and need help you guys!

A friend of mine, who is not computer savy is used to windows 7 and would like to 'return' in Windows 7 to a windows 10.
She recently bought a new computer:
Black HP 15.6 "15-f209wm with Intel Celeron N2840 4 GB memory 500 GB (windows 10)

And had me working on it to install it as a Windows 7.
The problem that I didn't forsee is that after I installed wiondows 7 Nothing worked because all the installed drivers were too 'new' for the Windows 7 operating system at least that is what I think the problem is.

The main thing that doesn't work is the USB ports and Wifi,
and I cannot find drivers to make this 'connection', this 'bridge' of sorts between Windows 7 operating system and the hardware inside the computer.  And I can't find solutions on the net!

An idea that I'm trying is to copy and paste drivers from another computer Windows 7 HP, on it. But I don't know if that's going to walk.

I am really confused with this and need your expertise!

    We thank you in advance.

    * Note *.
This computer has not been upgraded from a previous version of Windows.
I tried the Driver Booster to see if it would be the auto scan, detect and install fix it but it didn't.
I got the Lan/Ethernet is finally working.

    Hello:

This driver installs usb, not the chipset driver controllers... (the last driver that I posted on my first answer).

Download, unzip and run the setup.exe file.

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/25687/us B-3-0-Intel-USB-3-0-Driver-for-Intel-NUC6i-x-SY

According to the specifications of product for your laptop, the USB driver above must have worked.

If the usb driver 3 above fails to install the usb controller...

Please view the the hardware ID for the USB controller requiring driver.

To find the hardware ID, go the Device Manager and click on the usb controller requiring driver.

Then click on the Details tab in the upper part of the window of the USB controller.

Now you will see a drop-down list of property, and it will be set to the Description of the unit.

On this list and select the 2nd (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.

I don't know about other issues. There are always 'problems' with any upgrade. You weigh against the benefits. I know that you need more RAM. At least 4 GB, maybe more if you can. Don't forget that this system is produced at a time when most of the machines have + 8 GB RAM and when Apple said 'minimum' they really mean it.  I recently inherited a MacBook that has 2 GB of RAM and the Mavericks. When I checked the memory, the use of the system was using 1.95 GB = nothing to run applications!

Currently using iMac 2007 Yosemite 10.10.5 with 2 GB 667 mhz ddr 2 with 2.4 ghz core 2 duo with intel that I should upg at El Capitan.  Very slow system.  This improvement will speed up?

In my opinion, unless you upgrade the RAM 6 GB. You can get a kit of RAM 6 GB OWC (www.macsales.com) or you can get a DIMM 4 GB + 2 GB of Crucial (direct purchase) and update the RAM. Your machine likely a 2x1GB DIMMS installed, however if she doesn't 1x2GB DIMM installed everything you need is a 4 GB DIMMS. Once you upgrade the RAM, then you can upgrade to El Capitan, when you upgrade, I think you'll be an improvement in performance. Although technically El Capitan (and Yosemite) will run on 2 GB, the user experience should be quite poor.

    Good luck.

So I just bought HP 250 G4 with Intel 3825U with Win 8.1 on board. There is a problem as a scripited on Windows forum http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/event-37-kernel-processor-pow...

Basicially the messesge says: X processor speed in a group there is restricted by the system firmware.

The same their appeard on the BIOS first and modernized thanks to HP Support Assistant and Freddie boath 8.1 Win and 10. The laptop was right out of the box, I'm the first user. Temperatures are 40 ° C bleow. Their apperas when on battery and when it's plugged in. I put all the power options in Windows and BIOS to maxium.

Tell me HP, will make you an update of the BIOS, or should I rush to the store to return the product?

It is a Forum for users, no direct access to HP. There are a few employees here HP, but they speak for themselves, not HP. don't hold your breath for any type of BIOS update, or you can find a place where HP will announce an update of the BIOS in advance or even to explain the reason that issued it. If you have a privilege to return on the laptop I would promptly exercise.

Yes and no. Your processor meets the minimum requirements of the system but, your ram only. However, even if you had more ram I wouldn't recommend. Personally, I found win 7 does not work well on anything less than 2.5 GHz processor. I he would go on 512 MB of ram if I tweaked even though the requirements are 1 GB. Your processor is your problem.
