    Hi all

I recently bought the dv6-7246us and have updated for one SSD HARD drive. The problem I have now is I can't boot from usb or dvd drive that contains the Windows 7installation. Initially, this laptop has a HDD with Windows 8. I changed the boot order to boot from the USB drive and the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive several times and have still no chance to start to the top of the installation. Is there a solution to this problem?

    Thank you

    Hi, Robert:

Go you into the BIOS and change in legacy Mode?

I think that you need to do in order to boot from another device other than the hard drive.

  • Aspire driver V3 - 772 G Windows 8.1 USB 3.0 problem

    Hi all

    I bought my V3 - 772G 1 months ago about.

Yesterday everything worked well and today, I noticed that none of the 4 USB ports were working (laptop was suspended since yesterday)

No USB not connected, nothing. Key/mouse USB/hard drives /... does not work.

I noticed that in Device Manager, I had problems with the ' USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver "that the driver was not loaded. I've seen people online saying to uninstall and restart the computer. That and once again no operation USB, Device Manager, the device with problems was now "Compliant Host Controller xHCI USB".

I tried WITHOUT success to the following:

-Downloaded ' USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver "Intel has failed (available only for W7) - Web site

    -Restart windows full - same

-Disconnecting the battery and power for a few minutes, restarted - even

-Remove all USB devices (hubs and so forth), restarted - even

-Uninstalled all updates of 2 days before (to the point that I know that it worked) - pilot months before change - same result dates

-Tried to search the BIOS to disable USB3.0 and put 2.0 - not found

-Tried to get back to another restore - point na not work, complained that the disc is maybe damaged

-Widnows run chkdsk/r several times - no error found - nothing resolved

-Run chkdsk/r - stuck at 16%, but I guess that needs all night (TODO) - solved anything

-Tried to do a repair without losing files (using recovery partitions) - always guess how

Any idea or any help? They just stop working. I plug laptop already with windows 8.1 and they worked for 1 month

    Thank you

    -UPDATE1-

I used the command-line (via recovery windows at startup) and copied all the files from backup drive (I assume) X:\Windows\System32\Drivers\usb* on the local drive C:\Windows\System32\Drivers

    Rebooted - still nothing

    [Solved]

    Here's what you can try:

    (1) ensure that the ntbtlog.txt file located in C:\Windows it is removed (to clean the logs)

    (2) to activate the startup log check which driver loading fails:

    Option A:

    (1) open administrator command prompt

    (2) write "bcdedit/set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy" to allow the start of legacy with F8 (don't forget to change the settings after this guide)

    (3) reboot and press F8

    (4) select this option to start with active log

    Option B:

    1) press "WIN + R" and write "msconfig".

    (2) in the Startup tab, select the option "Startup journal."

    (3) to apply the changes and reboot (remember to change the settings after this guide)

    (3) check the drivers failed in the log (C:\Windows\ntbtlog.txt) file (in my case I got "ucx01000.sys" driver failure)

    (4) after researching online (Source) I saw the USB3.0 stack consists of 3 files of accommodation with the xHCI Host Controller: Usbhub3.sys, Ucx01000.sys and Usbxhci.sys.

    (5) restart the laptop and press 'ALT + F10' to enter in the menu ACER recovery

    (6) select "Troubleshooting", then "Advanced Options", then "Command Prompt"

    (7) you will be located in the "X:" drive and the folder "system32" of the recovery unit

    (8) write "cd drivers.

    (9) "copy write Usbhub3.sys C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\" (if you are asked to overwrite, answer "Yes")

    (10) "copy write Ucx01000.sys C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\" (if you are asked to overwrite, answer "Yes")

    (11) writing "copy Usbxhci.sys C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\" (if you are asked to overwrite, answer 'Yes')

    (12) write 'exit '.

    (13) restart your laptop, and you should be able to use USB again

    (14) disable the startup option if you used Option B.

In my case, the "Ucx01000.sys" file was missing in the drivers folder.

If you try to insert two cards at the same time that would be normal given that the card reader is bound to a single channel of USB. It all depends on how your computer has been configured when it was built.

If you remove the first card and insert another card it is possible that you are not just right-click on the map in file Explorer and ejecting the card before you remove them.

  • HP 7310: HP 7310 all-in-One Driver installation fails on Windows 10

I was thrilled to see that HP had a version of Windows 10 recommended its full printer driver, located at 7310

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=MP-110183-3&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en...

As with most HP stuff and most of the things Windows, however, my pleasure was short-lived. I started the installation (after choosing "10 64-bit Windows" option) and everything seems to work as I remembered, and the installer even got to the point where he discovered my network printer. But then this black popup appeared in the corner of my screen saying "your app does not work with Windows 10". The idea behind spoke of how the application was using the old protocols or something which would be harmful to the computer. In the end, the installation failed - the 7310 HP does not appear in my series of printers installed. Total disappointment, I have come to expect.

In the notes for installing HP says "If you only want the print (without the Photosmart Software Suite) driver, it is available as a separate download named"HP Deskjet basic driver"." In fact the pilot "baisc" would probably be all that I need. But alas it is unconnected with this driver and search both using the internal HP AND visa search engines search gives nothing.

Anyone with ideas? HP driver has been updated 29/07/15 so this isn't old stuff. Thank you.

So here's my solution. First of all, you get that you shouldn't be disturbed by installation failure message when you install this package on Windows 10. There are nine steps of installation and the ninth is to install a "Bing toolbar' or something like this. This is apparently an attempt to install a toolbar in Internet Explorer. The failure occurs because there is not Internet Explorer on Windows 10. This failure would have nothing to do with the failure of the connection to the printer.

The solution is to install all the updates of Windows 10 before trying to install the HP driver software. I have two identical machines brand new with Windows on them factory installed 10. I have tried to install all the stuff before waiting for updates to Windows, and that was the one where I failed... the part 'add a device' on the first installation went well and has print a list of the activities of the network in its effort to talk to my printer, but in the end, it failed and I got the big red 'X' on the final schedule which appears (the 'X' was between the router /) portrays switch and the printer). After the updates of Windows on this computer, the installation was successful. Then with the second machine, I did the updates of Windows first, and on this machine, the HP installation was successful the first time.

It could also be that it's specific hardware; It is possible that my Windows updates included an update from the manufacturer of my particular network interface, for example, and the network interface driver was the problem. My machines are the two model PowerSpec G415 computers to office who have a "Killer Z97X" mainboard ASRock, which I'm guessing that contains the material of common Intel chipset. In any case, good luck with that to all who follow in my footsteps. This one seems to have a happy ending for me at least.

  • Pool sprinter problem windows 7 SP I.

I have recently upgraded to windows 7 pro 32-bit using a clean installation of windows xp professional. My printer was a dell AIO940. However the only driver approaching is drivers Vista is what suggests the Dell. I tried these, I tried several things and it does not work and now I don't know, but my 'print spooler' continues to stop after my sp1 for windows 7. I tried to start it and it keep just stop so I can't get my HP printer to work eiither.

Even the Révérend Spooner would have known to ask a question about Windows 7 pool Sprinter in a Windows 7 forum rather than a Windows XP forum.

Be that as it may, according to Microsoft, your Dell A940 is "not compatible" with Windows 7 --> http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=Dell+A940+All-in-One+Printer&v=Dell&uid=A9402YR&pf=0&pi=9&c=Printers+%26+Scanners&sc=Multifunction&os=32-bit&vd=all

I've seen some assertions by a user of Dell (and contributor on the Microsoft answers Forum) the Vista for the A940 driver work - out-in Windows 7.  You can start by wading in this post-> http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3528/t/19306983.aspx

    (But see also http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3528/t/19290714.aspx)

In Windows XP, delete the corrupted printer drivers is a very common method of dealing with the situation of the print spooler does not.  I expect that the "patch" referenced in the first post of the thread in the Dell forum will do the same.

If you continue to have problems, I suggest that you post in the Dell forum or in the Windows 7 forum linked above.

Hi, we are currently running Windows XP SP3.  My daughter tries to download a song from Windows Media Player, she needs for her class dance.  It just download the song bad by accident without problem.  Now she's trying to download the song using the same CD (CD - R80) and it gives sound this error: «Please insert a blank disc in the CD drive (E :).» Once Windows Media Player detects a new disc, it will start automatically burning."  Someone please help.  She needs this to practice his senior dance solo.

As I understand it, the CD was already burned once, and now she's trying to burn on the same CD again? This is not possible, as the CD - Rs can only be burned once. She will need a new blank CD - R, like the error message.

  • Cannot install windows XP it said hard drives are not connected & windows can not find the hard drives

I got an asus computer notebook windows vista, upgrade from vista to windows 7, now I'm not able to do a clean install of windows xp, when I try to install XP, it says that hard drives are not connected & windows cannot find not the hard drives, so once again installed windows 7, is there a way to overcome this problem Why do I get the message windows xp does not detect hard drives? I even formatted the hard drive & tried to install Xp, but still, I get the same message.

    The answers will be appreciated...

    Thank you

Because the Windows XP installation CD does not have the necessary disk controller drivers.  You will need a floppy drive to provide the drivers of controller for the installation program, or you will need to burn a CD of Windows XP with the controller drivers slipstreamed into the installation.  A CD of Windows XP with SP2 included may have the necessary drivers.

  • CD/DVD drive not found in Windows 7

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 1545.  I did a clean install of Windows 7 (x 32 Edition) and since my drive CD/DVD is not found except in the BIOS and when I manually eject the drive it will pop up for a few seconds.  It's a TSST corp DVD +-RW T5 - L633B ATA Device.  Dell has released a driver for the problem, but as my computer can not find the drive it will not download the driver.  It will only appear in a few seconds Device Manager when I eject it, but then it disappears again and will not reappear unless I have the eject again.  When I put a disk it then the drive will show up but that's it.

I tried deleting the upper and lower registry and I also tried the suggestion of integrity checks off without success.

  • Can't get the driver for 32-bit windows 7 HP DeskJet 5440 via windows update.

Original title: driver HP DeskJet 5440 windows 7 32 bit

I was unable to get the driver for 32-bit windows 7 HP DeskJet 5440 via windows update.  I also was unbale to find your compatibility Center.  Is there a link were I can down-load the driver directly from.

    Tony,

    In fact, I assumed that yours was always supported by HP * but I understand now that it's not [so I guess that it is more than 10 years because it is their general support period].  {* Mine is a DJ 2540 and is only a few years so I thought a 5440 DJ must be more recent}

    I see that HP gives you general instructions on installing drivers in http://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/hp-deskjet-5440-printer-series/445466/model/445467/document/c01796879/ I checked Microsoft update catalog service and nothing found for HP Deskjet 5440, that's why you're not having any success with the generic instructions, giving you these instructions seem to presuppose the existence of a Windows driver for this specific model.  {HP must have given up your specific model before that this catalogue has been compiled, because hardware manufacturers are those that connect to their drivers inside}

However, my suggestions may solve your problem or maybe not.  They are simply the steps that seem more likely to be successful.  Personally, I'd a system image before you try each of these suggestions so that you can go back to square one if something goes terribly wrong.

Suggestion 1 - go to the devices & Printers dialog box, click Add a printer, select HP then select HP Deskjet 5400 series [the sequence in the list is awkward, this entry is about 10% of the way to the bottom of the list], click on Next and follow the procedure of menus at its conclusion.  Even if it's completely successful, plan to run my Suggestion 4 below as well in case of future need.

Suggestion 2 - out whatever the driver that shipped with your printer in the first place, try to install in compatibility mode [right click on its executable, click on the tab compatibility , the value of the check box for run this program in compatibility mode for... and select a BONE the printer worked correctly with.]  Then go to the executable, right-click and select run as administrator.  This idea is not frivolous, until he blew something internally, I was using my 1999/2000 HP Deskjet 1220C successfully on Windows 7 x 64 for four years [despite the HP user forums which implies that this was not possible].

Suggestion 3 - go back to the HP site to http://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-5440-printer-series/445466/model/445467 but select 10 Windows as your operating system.  In the results, the Diagnostics Utility Tools point contains now a setup generic [hppiw.exe] who described "HP for Windows printer setup wizard was created to help users Windows 10 download and install the software solution most appropriate for their printer and newer HP HP Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1.   Simply run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions. " Download & run [run as Admin] of this file.

Suggestion 4 - Connect to an Admin-level account first, then, using IE [there than IE], date back to the Microsoft update service catalog and search for HP Deskjet 5400 series.  It will give a lot of results, then click on the driver name in the left column of title to see details for each potential choice [especially if it is 32 or 64 bit].  The top of the list is [32-bit] Microsoft Update for HP Deskjet 5400 Series driver dated June 21, 2006.  [You might also download & file the second element, the 64-bit version, just in case you change computers in the future]  Add the chosen driver [s] to the "trash" then download - you will be asked to select a file to download first {it is at this stage that the process would be a break without further explanation or any error if you had not been connected to an Admin-level account before launching IE}.  I think that these drivers also work with Windows 10 thus, in the hope that your printer works for the years to come, it would be well worth your copies of maintenance of them filed there ready for your next computer use.

Proposal 5 - go [back] to the forums of user HP Deskjets & find 5440.  See if any of the other suggestions can help you - unless you have already looked through them all the more relevant [I realize that you have been here once already as one of the threads that I just watched was of you].

We know, in advance, which of these suggestions will lead to the best possible solution.  So please come back to this forum to explain what happened when you tried the.  Your experiences will benefit all users of HP Deskjet 5440 who come here looking for advice.

    Good luck

  • [Solved] HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20L periph. CdRom SATA has a driver problem. The driver faces a problem of Plug-and-Play device.

Recently, I noticed that my CD/DVD stopped working. He turns, but nothing happens; the disc is not read.
I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit on an HP Touchsmart tx2z.

I ran the Microsoft FixIt program through http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116 and it has identified the following problem: 'HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20L periph. CdRom SATA has a driver problem. The driver faces a problem of Plug-and-Play device. »

However, FixIt said that he was unable to solve the problem and discs are still read.

I manually uninstalled the driver in Device Manager and then scanned for the hardware changes. The driver was reinstalled, but with the same problems as before.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

Also, try following the steps for Windows Vista, which should also work in Windows 7, in the MS KB article:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/982116

These measures, to remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters, values if they exist, in the registry key named can help.

Create a System Restore Point beforehand and restart the computer later.
