T440s EU 4G

I'm sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but it would be possible to install something like the Huawei ME906E (link below) to the T440s?

http://consumer.Huawei.com/en/solutions/M2M-solutions/products/tech-specs/me906e-en.htm

Thanks for any help

At present the em7345 device may have incorrect material like USB\Vid_8087 & Pid_0911 IDs...

After bios boot T440s run check the hardware id and display the error '1802 unauthorized network card is plugged in.' and run the laptop stopped... Try again - "powering the laptop, turn on and error 1802", try again and try again... and bios will skip the em7345 control and run from Windows.

In the em7345 driver has EM7345_MBIM_only.exe, after the execution of this file will fix hardware like USB\VID_1199 & PID_A001 & MI_00 correct id. After material id correction the correct em7345 work after installing drivers, and after restarting the laptop correct bios includes the em7345 without error.

But correction of hardware id will not work on win 7, it works on win (verified) 8.1 and perhaps win8 (unaudited).

Sorry for the bad English, but I think the basic idea is understandable...

  • Synaptics - right-click interpreted as left click - T440s

When I right click using the touch pad on my T440s, it fits like a left click. I reset all my Synaptics settings to their default values. I rolled back my Synaptics Pointing Device driver to the previous version, which is now 19.0.17.2. I restarted. The right click is still registered as a left click. Left click registered also as a left click, and I confirmed that I don't have the "Change primary and secondary buttons" option is selected. I'm perplexed as to what I can do next.

Note: This has nothing to with a two-finger tap. Who does not either, but I'm talking about a physical depression of the widely maligned disaster and appropriately to a touchpad that came with the laptop (and has since been abandoned new features of Lenovo, thank God). I also fiddled with the Synaptics settings for 'Activate top button' and 'Enable button down', and it does not help.

As a solution, I used AutoHotKey to map my right shift key to emulate a right click. This works, but is rather clumsy compared to a real right click. (Information on how to do it, in case you're curious: http://superuser.com/a/195168)

This problem started while I was with a keyboard ThinkPad autonomous, plugged on the USB port of the laptop. When I work for a long time, I like to put my laptop on a stand, so the screen is directly in front of my face; This prevents the neck from bending forward to look at the screen of the laptop. I have a stand-alone ThinkPad keyboard that is on the table at a natural height for my wrists/hands.

I am running Windows 10. But I had this problem once before, while running Windows 8.1, and the solution was then to restore the previous Synaptics driver. I suspect the specific version of the pilot had nothing to do with it, and if the cancellation has replaced some bad state. This time, however, roll back did not help.

If I plug a separate USB, right-click on this device mouse works fine, which confirms that this is not a problem of Windows System. It's almost certainly a problem with Synaptics, which is also confirmed by the fact that roll back my driver Synaptics * fact * work the last time I had this problem.

I should also mention that I had other problems Synaptics while my own ThinkPad keyboard is connected. I suspect that this is a configuration of Synaptics and Lenovo must test more extensively.

My next step is to completely uninstall my Synaptics driver and hope that Windows drivers included for keyboard and pointer. Does anyone have a better solution? Obviously, I prefer the driver updates that avoid this problem in the first place.

Uninstall and reinstall the driver Synaptics solved the problem.

    Steps to uninstall:

-Open Device Manager (you can search in the start menu)

-Expand "Mice and other pointing devices" (language of Windows 10)

-Double-click on "Synaptics Pointing Device" to open its properties

    -Select the 'Driver' tab

-Select "Uninstall" and follow the instructions, restart if necessary

    Steps to reinstall:

    -Open Device Manager

-Expand "Mice and other pointing devices" (language of Windows 10)

-Double-click on the element of mouse

    -Select the 'Driver' tab

-Select 'Update Driver' and allow Windows to search for the appropriate driver

  • T440 giving Fan Error

I have a T440 which gives a fan error message and then stops immediately. And of course it just went out of warranty last month! Ideas like how to fix?

It's a pain that it just went out of warranty. This seems very early to a fan of die. I don't know how handy you can do things yourself. You just need a screwdriver, but some people are comfortable doing things like that and some are not. I guess the problem is the fan itself, because the only other involved part is the motherboard which is a much bigger problem. I'd say in 90% of cases, it's the fan itself. The fan is accessible by removing the bottom cover. The fan can be removed and replaced. On newer machines, I always offer a new fan, as opposed to a second-hand, that should come pre-pasted. Here is a link to the service manual. See what you think:

  • Problem with a keyboard key of T440 after the upgrade to Windows 10

    Hello world

I have a Brazilian keyboard layout (ABNT2) on my T440 and I am facing a problem after the upgrade to Windows 10. The new version of Windows recognizes this key:

As long as the "CTRL on the right" (commom on other layouts).

Everyone was faced with a similar problem or have any clues as to what might solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance,

    Felipe

    Solved.

Do more research, I fount out is an old bug with Lenovo's Thinkpad laptops with this Brazilian keyboard.

If you are facing the same problem, use this registry tweak and the problem is solved:

(the file name indicates "win7" but it also works for Windows 10)

  • T440s Windows 7 taking two fingers will turn off by itself

I have a Thinkpad T440s I bought a coupleof months ago. My problem is that the two finger press on in the Synaptics Control Panel is disabling itself. In this case completely at random. In this case I have to open the Synaptics Control Panel and re - activate. I went weeks without this occurring to have sometimes happen four or five times a day. I reinstalled the drivers Lenovo synaptics and this still happens. Is there any solutions to this? It is extremely frustrating to have to stop working at random intervals for all of this box.

    Any help much appreciated.

The only solution I've found is a workaround.

Download "two_finger-scroll. In the settings, clear the scroll and only leave the option which allows two finger tap. The value that it runs when windows starts. It is quite annoying to have to run a background program to solve this problem, but I guess that's how Lenovo rolls these days.

  • Do not charge the external battery ThinkPad T440

    Hello community,

I use a T440 with WIN8.1 machine pro, but for some reason any external battery stopped charging. This laptop is only 3 months old Lenove send me a brand new, but the result was the same, the charging symbol appears on my screen when restarting the machine and shrotly after completely stops. Now, I had my internal battery pack has changed and once again, no improvement. If any of you had a similar experience and can suggest a remedy?

  • T440: m.2 speed NGFF SSD does not as expected

    Hello world

I bought the 128 GB model of the MyDigitalSSD Super Cache 2 (see here). Write speeds are as expected, about 170 - 190 MB/s. However, the playback speed is capped at 270 MB/s, although it should reach well above 400 MB/s. It is confusing to me. I installed the SSD m.2 in the same location where the original cache my T440 (16 GB, SanDisk) module has been installed. "My disk info' indicates that the drive works in mode ' Serial ATA/600", as I figured first it can be flown just SATA/300, and therefore it would make sense that the playback speed is capped at "."< 300="" mb/s.="" but="" this="" doesn't="" seem="" to="" be="" the="">

Is that what I can do to improve performance?

    See you soon!

    NZ

SOLUTION: Install the SSD drive in slot m2 next to one that contains the WIFI module. It will be free if you order the module WWAN / 3G. But it supports SATA III, while the slot under the battery is apparently not. In this regard, I am puzzled why Lenovo installed the module cache SATA original there.

Hello I just got a new Thinkpad T440 (running under Windows 7 64-bit) and I noticed, he got the SIM tray on its left side.

I now try to activate the functionality of broadband services, but even the installation of the driver for Broadband Mobile Ericsson N5321gw material seems to be missing.

How can I activate the wireless WAN card?

    Thank you in advance!
    Concerning

    Valerio

    valerio_canc,

Unfortunately, it is not wwan adapter in your laptop. Laptop specs short descriptions on the Lenovo site includes the words "WWAN option. This means laptop is "wwan ready" has only - player of sim cards and wwan antenna installed, no wwan modem itself.

    Device Manager confirms that.

  • Connect devices usb 2.0 at T440s

I just bought a T440s and I have several USB 2.0 devices I want to use with it. Should which adapter I since the T440s has only USB 3.0 ports.

USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 are the exact same size / shape / size.

The only change between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 is the transfer speed (10 X) and the output amperage (900mA as opposed to 500mA)

Let me in that way. If your cable does not fit into the USB 3.0, it is not a USB 2.0 cable.

  • Two questions about T440s and T540

    Hello

Recently, I bought ThinkPad T540 and my father also got a T440s for his work. He asked me if there was a physical switch to WiFi and I have no idea. It wasn't a W510, is this feature removed on T540 and other models xx40?

Another thing is the sleep button. Before that I was able to quickly put my computer to sleep with the key Fn + Sleep (rescent blue moon). I know there is no button with the same symbol, but in Lenovo Power Manager there is an option for the action of the "Sleep" button It is set to "sleep". My question - is there a "sleep button" after all? I am able to define a shortcut for sleep somehow outside the power button / stop hoding for 1 second?

Yes, wifi switch has been removed in laptops Haswell. I think fn + 4 is now the sleep button (not F4!).

  • Brand new T440s with BIOS password

    Hello

    I have a big problem.

I bought online a new T440s I opened the box for the first time myself. When I go into the BIOS it asks for password and I just hit enter without entering a password. I can get into BIOS but I can't change any settings.

What can I do? A brand new thinkpad can come with a BIOS password on the box?

I get conflicting information regarding the type of password. First image said his power over who can be removed but bios says his supervisor.

In fact, it can happen. Sometimes large customers require laptops preconfigured which may include customized supervisor passwords. Of course, you should have not received one of these units. Ask the seller for a replacement unit, there is no easy way to remove an unknown supervisor password without replacing the motherboard for the laptop.
