T500 in edition of Windows 7 fingerprint reader

I recently installed Windows 7 x 64, everything was fine, except that when I disconnect / lock / watches the computer and I have try to log in using the fingerprint reader, I get the following error message: "this computer is locked. Only the connected user can unlock.

But I am logged on (assuming that wasn't there one, after disconnection,...), administrator and user only.

So to connect, I just enter the password and everything works, but in Vista, it worked without problem.

When I start or restart the computer, I have no problems, the works of great fingerprint reader (in the bios and the part of Windows logon).

Got most of the drivers through Thinkvantage System Update, but had to get the drivers of the fingerprint on the Lenovo site, released 10/22 version 3.3.0.56 (original and official version for Win7)

Any solution to this?

Thank you!

Yes. You are right. The previous data fingerprint (XP or Vista) still exists in the sensor even after you format the HARD drive and instatll a new OS Win7. Then you'd better delete fingerprint sensor once from the BIOS > Security > Fingerprint > internal Reset data before installing a new OS fingerprints.

I am fan of ThinkPad and Lenovo volunteer. FOR INFO.

  • Windows 8 fingerprint reader no longer works (need to Flash the BIOS to fix)

I have a DV6-7014nr bought around September of 2012.  I have upgraded to WIndows 8 when it first came out.  I had no problem with the reader of fingerprints on Windows 7, but do not use for a long time.

As the subject says.  I can run it for a few weeks (on Windows 8), and the fingerprint reader stops working.  None of the biometric devices are listed in the Device Manager.  If I try to load the driver, it does nothing, as if the player is simply not there the responsibility of the driver closes just (with no message).

Peripheral Biometirc in the Panel control says there is no biometric device found and simplepass opens without the fingerprint reader recognized.

The only thing that solves this is my BIOS which comes Insyde to re-flashing. It is noted in the setup of the BIOS relating to biometric devices.  I have just discovred that BIOS update solves a problem because there was an update that I applied.  Have to reapply the update of the BIOS to fix this seems excessive to us.

    Added March 29, 2013:

I just re-applied the BIOS two days ago and already the figerprint teader plug working again.  I tried a hard reset (because I saw that as a solution previously, and it is easier and faster to re-flashing the BIOS).  Who has shut down, remove the battery, now the power for 30 seconds button, boot the system without the battery.  He has not fixed the problem and I can't even understand why the fingerprint reader keeps disabling.  A re-BIOS flash solves the problem, it seems that the problem must be with the BIOS software.  Oh I also had turned off the "Allow windows to turn off the device to save power" for the biometric device before he went kaput.  It doesn't stop of is suckier.

There must be a better way.

After installing the recent updates to XP (I think that service pk 3) my Microsoft Fingerprint Reader is no longer works.i done a system restore to get it working again, but now I need the help of updates

    Hi MzHell,

First of all I suggest you to update the fingerprint reader software and then update windows and check if that helps. (Create a system restore point before trying this step)
You can also check the updates have been installed when you made an update of windows. After the same return so we can help you better.

Follow these steps to see the Windows updates are installed on your computer.

    1. open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.
    2. in the left pane, click view update history.

    For more information visit http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/See-which-Windows-updates-are-installed

You can create a system restore point, to be on the safer side and then try to install an update at a time. Now check the update is causing this issue and post back the same.

To create a restore point, follow these steps:

    2. in the left pane, click system protection. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • T61 with Windows 7: Fingerprint reader does not

I downloaded and installed the software of fingerprint reader for my (7659-D22) T61 with Windows 7. On the login screen, I see the option "Scan your finger", but none of my fingerprints is recognized, so I log in with my password.

In Windows, I get the popup of fingerprint by inviting me to register fingerprints. Three are presented as registrants already (carry on the WinXP form, no doubt), everything else I had tried without success to the login screen. I tried registering additional prints, but the scans are not at all.

How can I solve this problem?

Just delete the previous fingerprint data and registration seem to have solved the problem.

    Hello

Recently, after the update to Windows 10 fingerprint reader works just on my Pavilion dv6. I tried other methods I found on the forum, and I'm looking for a driver get the fingerprinter reader to work. I tried to download HP SimplePass (which has been removed from my PC by updating the operating system) in the hope he would get my fingerprint reader to work, but no luck.  I also looked in the settings (in Device Manager) for biomeric devices, and I found a driver with an exclamation point, indicating it wouldn't work. So, right now, I need a solution to get my to work on a fingerprint reader.

Hello SauveDuro, welcome to the Forums of HP.

I see you are trying to install the drivers for the fingerprint reader on the laptop for Windows 8.1, you've seen questions get this working.

Unfortunately, HP does not drivers for Windows 8.1 for your laptop.

The most I can recommend in this case, check the manufacture of each component for Windows 8.1-compatible drivers.  Here's a link of validity, you may be able to get drivers that work for him: http://www.validityinc.com/software/hp/wbf.php.

    Hi SergeyPov,

I see that you are having problems with your fingerprint reader on your laptop. I'd love to help you.

You mentioned that you also updated the BIOS. After doing that you did that the fingerprint reader is always enabled in the BIOS?

Another option would be to possibly check the connections related to the fingerprint reader. It may have a bad contact, or it is also possible that the Board is defective. See the link below that can help checking the connection.
