T510 hibernation problem

When I want to Hibernate my laptop it is locked (as when you press Fn + F2) instead of Hibernate (using Hibernate in the start menu button, Fn + F12 key or button walk / stop).

I tried everything I found on the internet, but no one has the same problem.

I had this problem for 3 days.

pls help.

I found how to solve my problem.

it, s just to set the partition as active partition windows.

to do so right click on computer, select manage, select disk management, right-click on the windows partition and select Mark partition as active, and then restart your computer.

the problem could be solved.

    Hello
I have a following problem, I used two OS linux and win xp, but one day, I decided to delete the linux partition, and there is the problem.
I was using the LILO Boot Manager to switch between operating systems. After you delete the Linux partition, I run Win XP and selected Hibernate.

Then the system is not successfully restore (probably a problem with the MBR after you have deleted the linux partition) and show that the screen full of strange characters.
'C', "f12", changing the settings of the bios does not help because win xp hibernation somehow has a higher priority.
For I can start from everything even to original Toshiba Recovery CD, because HDD ist first start eitherway.
I had earlier experencied that when I put in hibernation Windows, the boot parameters changed in the BIOS where used first after I close Windows normally down.

What can I do? Does anyone have an idea?
Can I somehow my laptop out of hibernation while turning on the power?

Thank you for your advice in advance
    Rafael.

    Hello Rafael

Of course, you're very impatient. Joke!

In my opinion, there is a problem with the MBR. If you start the device information stored in the MBR should give first info where is all the work saved on HARD drive (in hibernation mode).

I n t have concrete solution, but if you don t want to use Linux, you should back up all your important data and reinstall the operating system using the recovery image. After that the unit will be clean preinstalled and everything will be perfect.

    1. what issues are facing everything by creating a password?
2 - is Windows not and will prompt you to enter the password after the wake up the computer after hibernation?

  • Hibernation problems - my computer turns off but it restarts immediately.

I am running Windows Vista Home basic with Service Pack 2.

Recently, I used a disc clean up program which seems to affect hibernation. My computer turns off but it restarts immediately. I went to the command prompt as administrator and checked what is available - S3 - and that you typed in "powercfg / hibernate on ' but it will not always 'down'." I cut and restarted, but still no improvement. Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so, how to solve it?

    Microsoft recommended a different command:

I used the disk cleanup tool in Windows Vista, and now the hybrid sleep feature and the hibernation feature are unavailable

Click Start > programs > Accessories > right click on command prompt > run as Admin >powercfg-h on

Alternatively, try the Fix - It.

  • Hibernation problems

    Hello

My computer is having mysterious problems coming out of hibernation.  My computer is an inspiron 1526 and works on Windows Vista.  When the computer finally goes to hibernation, I can't wake him by all means.  I went in the power management, the default configuration values... nothing seems to work.

To add insult to injury, whenever I need to shut down the computer, I can't get back.  When I press the power button, it seems to go into hibernation.  The screen is black and the power is on, but I can't operate unless I turn, it works a million times... then voila, computer finally lights up.

Please help me with my problem.  Thank you very much for your time.

    Hello

A bit of software, a device driver or a TSR (always on things like antivirus software) not correctly support hibernation mode. This means that you must either one) identify and remove or update the software (an or both may be options depending on what it is) or b) do not use hibernation to its current level of sleep (State of S as defined in THE system BIOS). I would check the logs in Event Viewer/hint about what file system or a routine is the problem for beginners. You may also use a boot minimum troubleshooting to solve this, don't make assumptions when sentencing could or could not be. Operating instructions: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/331796

"When I press the power button, it seems to go into hibernation.

Change this behavior in the Control Panel/Power Options in the left column there is a line to change what the power buttons, because that's probably what he currently programmed to do. • T510 noise problem

It was super quiet before running 2 k 10, I knew that this game gave the Professor a lot of pressure, but the Thinkpad result might not be quiet once again, although the sound was not loud. I tried several methods to find out what was the problem like speedfan, but this software could not work well in my t510. The performance of this laptop is very much like my waiting except the noisy problem. Moreover, I mean it's noisy without running great games. Could someone give some advice? Someone said that it was not for lack of lenovo, it is because the new processor from intel. But I thought that if the laptop kept noisy like that, isn't a common laptop, ThinkPad

Have not used myself, but some people have had good results using TPFanControl.

Please let me know if TPFanControl works for you. I read people who still use it on T410 and ThinkPad W510 but not T510. Would be curious to know if it works.

  • Quick start with the hibernation problems

My HP Mini 5103 has been upgraded to Win7 Home Premium to Windows 8 Pro

Hibernate worked very well under Win7HP

Now, with the fast start enabled, hibernate doesn't work anymore.  Instead, the screen goes to the lock screen.  Finally, the screen goes black but the PC is still on (the fan is running, keyboard lights, occasional hard disk activity).  Touch any key immediately goes to the logon screen.

I can't even shut down the PC in this configuration.  The screen displays 'Shutting Down' for a few seconds, then switches again to the lock screen (in the same way as if hibernate was requested above).

Once the quick start is disabled, Shut Down works as before, but one of the big advantages of Windows 8 is supposed to be the quick start, it is a big disappointment.

The problem seems to be with the Hibernate, function because quick start use hiberfil.sys, and for some reason, the PC is so more able to access hiberfil.sys in the process of closing.

Is this a bug?  Or is it possible to fix it?

I checked using "powercfg / has" from the command prompt and the Hibernate implementation is listed as available, so is quick start as well as hybrid sleep and standby (S3).  The hiberfil.sys file is correctly located in C:\

    Sleep works correctly.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Some additional info:

Looking at the event viewer immdeiately after trying Hibernate (and failing) reveals that an event ID 45 was met by the volmgr, with the detailed diagnostic report:

"The system could not sucessfully load the crash dump driver."

I then checked the key of registry HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Crashconrol/DumpFilters who listed OK so presumably SbHiber.sys and dumpfve.sys, both apparently of Microspft.

That's exactly what happened to me and a colleague. However, I think that you're wrong about SbHiber.sys - at least in my case (and my colleague) SbHiber.sys was McAfee that has been uninstalled when you use Windows 7, but the uninstall program did not remove the reference. As a result, SbHiber.sys could not load, causing the VolMgr event on starup.

We have removed the reference SbHiber.sys of the key of registry HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Crashconrol/DumpFilters (simply delete 'sbhiber.sys' and leave the other text in the value of the key) and re-activated hibernation and quick start, our problem with the two missing.

I hope this helps someone else, ' cos it drove me crazy. I hated having not standby extended!

I presented these 3 topics, which are bugs in the cmd shell. first they said I should introduce him to technet.  then they said I should present the msdn forums, although I don't see how it's appropriate, then told me I should post to Microsoft Answers, so I'm back to where I started.

I suspect that these bugs may not affect only XP but the newer versions of windows as well.

I have a XP Pro 32-bit and 3 GB of RAM, Pentium 4 HT 2.8GHz system (1 core, 2-wire).  It is a relatively new installation of windows, and I recently cleaned the CPU cooler.  I'm doing the repair of computers as my business and software development as a hobby.

    • do the hibernation twice in a row causes the need for a hard stop.  This is not good.  I should be able to do the overwintering without end.
    • Windows gets more unstable as time goes by, until I need a reboot after about a week or two of the race.  I wouldn't restart.  I don't want to restart. I need my development environment I need to put in place every time.
    • Windows gets slower and slower to react to the events of keyboard and mouse over time.  services.exe is apparently chewing 50% cpu for a few seconds so that this 'pause for the system' is happening.

I agree with the response of Al Dunbar, posted to your thread in the TechNet forum.

  • Questions of hibernation HP m9500f

This system is not that of 5 months and this morning I woke to the fan rotates at a high speed rate and no lights on the front of the computer or the monitor (that works).  I left it last night by turning off the screen and hitting the botton of hibernation on the keyboard and it seems to be coming out of hibernation, but it may not.  Microsoft's web site for Vista hibernation problems mention "this problem occurs because the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) device driver does not correctly update device settings to reflect the new configuration" and the solution is to apply the SP1.  This PC came with SP1 and since it is not yet properly initialize, I couldn't apply it in any case.  I don't know if need more info about the system, so just ask and I'll give.  Any help is appreciated.

I found my problem... I unplugged the PC from the main supply for 10 minutes and then reconnect all power properly.

I left the post as one solution to others.

    Hi Verminaard42,

    Thanks for posting your solution.

Hibernation/standby does not seem to cause problems from time to time, but I wonder if there could be something else. Have you updated your PC for the latest firmware to your PC?

If this isn't the case, please do. It might make you save a lot of headaches and loss of data. Here is a link to the update of the firmware for your Seagate hard drive:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=PV-68339-3 & LC = on & DLC = in & CC = US & lang = to & os = 2100 & Product = 3867491

This update may or may not cure the hibernation issue, but it will definitely help your PC otherwise too.

In addition, this HP Support document on the resolution of the problems of sleep/hibernate can help.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hello

I suffered all the problems on IE locks, don't not recovery from sleep mode and sometimes of hibernation and the continuous fan running.

After changing things like crazy, I think I have solved at least sleep mode and hibernation, problems of updating the chipset and the Intel's IDE software. You can install it on top of Toshiba drivers with no problems.

    Chipset: http://support.intel.com/support/chipsets/inf/
    Storage: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2101

But I was unable to update Intel video driver, as any method I have chosen to do so tells me an incompatible driver, asking me to contact the OEM manufacturer.
