T510 Smart zero Regitry customer

Is there a way to change the registry on a Smart T510 Zero Client settings without using HPDM?  I am logged in as administrator, but can't seem to find a place where you can access the registry.

I suggest using the Smart Client Services instead. They are easy to use and do not need HP DM:

  • Cloning of the network settings on the printer - Smart zero 4.4 clients using Xen

I ran into an issue trying to implement for thin client network printers Smart zero with the build Z6X44017 (same question for with prior build 4.3; same question for T520s, T610s, T620s): If the printer is set by the 'user' account in the HP printer Mapping utility, it does not pass by in a published desktop, XenApp as a printer available to all.  When changing the account 'user' to the 'administrator' account, the printer is listed in the printer mapping GUI.  But it is not available on the published desktop.

However, if the printer is CREATED or MODIFIED by the administrator via the GUI HP printer Mapping on the Xen login Panel, then it is displayed as the default printer on the published desktop.

As we seek to implement dozens of devices at once with the same network printer queue defined, it would be useful to set up once and then clone the settings.

Here's what I've done so far:

1 use the GUI HP printer Mapping utility to create (in administrator mode) network print queue and check that it works on the published desktop

    2. use HPDM to capture the root > printer-mapping-Bishop and root > registry values printers from that device using a task of 'files and records.

    3. apply these registry via the job template settings to the target group of devices.

It works very well with regard to obtaining the printer to display in the GUI of the mapping of the printers on the Xen login Panel.  However, the same problem exists: unless I go again in administrator mode in the GUI and the Edit/save the printer, it is not available on the published desktop.

A possible solution might be to run a job to 'validate' the printer settings via a program that could be run from the command line, but I can't find such a program in the file system for the Linux client.  It's just a bug in the configuration of the printer, or a limitation of this printer MUST be configured via the GUI only?

The local HP sales engineer for thin clients was able to track down the command of "committing" the printer settings after running the registry task to copy the settings.  It is run as a task of type Script as a template file and registry.

Here is the command to run in the script:

    /usr/share/Manticore/plugins/printer-mapping-Mgr/wrappers/apply.sh "root/printer-mapping-mgr.

It can be added as the second subtask under the task of file & registry.

    The complete solution is:

1 use the GUI HP printer Mapping utility to create (in administrator mode) network print queue and check that it works on the published desktop

    2. use HPDM to capture the root > printer-mapping-Bishop and root > registry values printers from that device by using a "file and registry" tasks and save it as a template

3 edit the template to add a second sub-task of Script to run the command ' root/printer-mapping-mgr ' /usr/share/manticore/plugins/printer-mapping-mgr/wrappers/apply.sh

    4. run the task of file & registry model against the target devices.  This model will then apply these registry settings for the group target devices and run the script to validate the changes on the target devices.

  • Upgrade the smart devices and Customer Services Manager

We use Device Manager 4.5 and Smart Client Services 4.4. I want to improve DM 4.6 SP1 and SCS to 5.0.

I don't see any upgrade information in the documentation. How can I do this?

    Hi kayaserda,

Upgrade of HPDM V4.5-* V4.6 before is quite simple and straight, especially if you use the PostgreSQL database.

HPDM has an excellent site web http://www.hp.com/go/HPDM. From there you can find a link to whitepapers HPDM for V4.6 ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/hpdm/Documentation/WhitePapers/4.6/ it we're here for upgrades.

Two things to be aware, be sure you know where your HPDM is installed as will be asked in the course of the upgrade of the V4.6. Usually, it's "C:\Program files (x 86) \Hewlett-Packard\HP Manager of devices ' but yours may be different. Second thing, it is if you used Microsoft SQL as your database, make sure that you perform the upgrade with a user account with full access to the SQL database as the process of upgrade will need to do a job of database that needs permissions to the database. will connect to the database via the connected account do the upgrade.

I also suggest to go directly to the SP1 V4.6. It's a simple update to 'throw distance.

    HPDM V4.6 and V4.6 SP1 are ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/hpdm/Software/4.6/

  • Error sending image to zero smart t510 HP spot

So we have an image t510, we have configured, based on the image of T6X42019 ThinPro 4 most recent of HP. I used HPDM 4.5 to capture the final image, and it works very well to expel this image to any t510 race ThinPro 4 already. However, if I try to send the same hardware, running HP Smart zero Core, it fails with the error below. I want to be able to send this image to all t510 connected to the HPDM or running the other operating system. Someone knows what's the problem?

  • Customer management - t410 - HP zero

Ok.  I need to know which management option to use for the t410 and why there are two; no good documentation on explaining the differences.  We use both?  I've been playing with zero service HP Device Manager and customer.  Looks like Zero Client Services is a configuration all or nothing; which means that your limited to one profile and if you want to have different settings for other devices, you must create a structure of folders to MAC address.  Could turn into a nightmare when the count of device gets over 50 or more.

I am also unable to find any documentation on explaining how the image and push with Zero customer service packages.  There is not a management console for the zero customer service see all features that are deployed and easily allows the concealment, such as Device Manager.  Is there a rule of thumb to go when deciding on what management console to use?  Also where kits of Client for the zero customer service?  I need of advice and help on the update of the images, pushing packages, customer Kits and shadowing remote with Zero Client.  HP Device Manager seems to be explicit.

    Thank you

    Hello

Please find the steps to install packages via SMART zero client

    1. Download and save the file (for ex: file .deb/xar)
    2. In your server have. C:\Program Files (x 86) \Hewlett-Packard\HP customer smart Service\auto-update
    3. In the folder paste the file in the packages folder
    4. Go to the C:\Program Files (x 86) \Hewlett-Packard\HP customer smart Service\auto-update
    5. Index.txt open and the following lines.

    Packages /.

    For example: (packages/xxxxxxx.deb)

    1. Save the file.
    2. Restart the workstation.

  • HP t510 and t5565z black screen

    Hello

I have several HP t510 and t5565z thin using HP Smart Client OS we use for VMware View customers. Thin clients for very well most of the time. However occasionally they will get black screens and no longer respond. I would say that this probably occurs during long periods of inactivity may be several hours or more. Has anyone already experienced this? It can occur during a session connected or simply sitting lit all night.

These thin clients also seem to have a kind of construction in both screen saver. Because they will go in this black screen after 15 minutes of inactivity. They return generally, but I can't find anywhere in the settings options or BIOS to kill this screensaver.

To anyone reading this, I found a solution. I found myself by opening a ticket with HP about the sleep function screen integrated with Smart Zero Client generation. I was information this feature was not available without the component of profile manager of the HP Server deployment, you can use this thin client.

I finished the switch back on the ThinPro build because you can control the screen saver and display the power options in the generation of HP. I had a feature request to HP to allow the screen saver and power display options to be greeted with the Smart customer zero built in the future because they added an Admin mode in the last generation, they pulled out for us who do not have enough of them to justify the use of the server component.

  • Shado task does not connect to the Thin Client

Trying to hide a T520 on HPDM 4.6SP4 thin client, when I run the task of shadow, I retrieve a VNC connection on the server HPDM and not the thin client. T520 thin clients are ThinPro 5. This happens on the T510 Smart thin clients zero Core as well. I'm guessing there's a conf file that may have a value defined by mistake, but didn't find it.

    Dear customer,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query on the Forum from the HP Support

Looks like you are facing difficulties regarding the task of the shadow copy in the HP Device Manager

1 shadow task uses the built in VNC server for the HP Device Manager software

    2. If you have installed a separate VNC software on the server of HPDM, there could be a conflict

    3. also please check under "services.msc" to find out how many services VNC running concurrently

    4. If you find that several services VNC please disable those who is not necessary

    5. Please goto Add / Remove programs and uninstall VNC Viewer is installed separately
