T510: Thinpro 4.4 to 5.2 upgrade

Hi guys

I get the following in my HPDM SP5 console error when you try to upgrade a running 4.4 to 5.2 T510

Error code: 14010042, details of the error: write failure of a file.

Once the task has failed, the SLIM is booted ThinPro 5.2, but basically, nothing works, I can not open any window or enter into the setting or switch to Admin Mode.

If I reboot the computer thinclient it stucks at the "Startup ThinPro' after the MESSAGE.

The task of upgrading even worked on about 20 other thin clients.

You think that it is caused by a faulty hard drive? Or should I spend 4.4 to 5.0/5.1 5.2 then

Thank you

Hello

It takes at least the TP image to 5.0 update before moving to 5.2.

HPDM use different minilux for ThinPro4.4 Imaging and imaging ThinPro 5.2. We do not support the update directly.

I managed to navigate to the file/usr/sbin/but when I run the command hpdmagent I get a "error while loading shared libraries: libdmerrhandle.so: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory".

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the Linux command prompt, etc so do not know how to get the log for you.

I'll try to reinstall ThinPro 5 on the device to see if that helps.

  • Upgrade SSD or hybrid to my T510

    Hi all

I am considering upgrading my hard drive to my old T510 to 2 years since my original 300 GB drive fills

I am considering getting an ssd or a Seagate hybrid drive, but I'm not sure.

I want a faster startup time and improved performance. Right now it takes more than a minute to boot the system and sometimes seconds to load a large multimedia site. However, I also need big storage because I need a windows and linux dual system and a little store a few movies and a lot of music in the laptop. Because I don't want to replace my DVD with a second hdd, I hesitate between the SSD and hybrid.

I was wondering if any of you have tried the hybrid drive on Thinkpad. How does perform? And anyone who tries it with a dual system? I'm a little worried the dual-boot will mess up with the ssd 6 GB limited is part of the hybrid drive, since it is so little space for both systems and management becomes much more complicated with two totally different file system.

Also if I would go with an ssd, any recommendations? I looked at Samsung 830, Intel 520 and Crucial m4, all are good, but the problems that they are all SATA III, while my T510 support only SATA II. A bit of waste. But all the SATA II ssd seems just outdated and with older technology.

    Thanks a lot guys!

Yes... need you the ThinkPad Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay adapter III.

The reference is 43N3412 detailed here. More information about the adapter here (PS: photo shows one IDE connector that is false.) Someone needs to update this image).

The Bay adapter is hot in that you can safely remove the material at any time & eject your T510 adapter using the physical button under the chassis. I like the provision of better eject buttons on the first series of T.

We try a Windows 7 Professional upgrade of Windows 8 using the installation Windows 7 running routine to maintain the applications and settings. The machine is a T510, 8 GB of RAM. Is there an official upgrade guide that includes dealing with this issue?

  • Upgrade memory T510 problem

My machine has 4 GB installed when I bought it and I tried to add more than 4. Bought the module directly from Lenovo for my model. Slot under the top of the notebook was empty, so I installed there, I haven't looked under the keyboard. The unit keeps restarting via the boot sequence. Gets to the point where the windows logo appears, then restarts. When additional memory is removed, it works normally. 8.1 Windows 64 bit. Thanks for any help.

  • Error sending image to zero smart t510 HP spot

So we have an image t510, we have configured, based on the image of T6X42019 ThinPro 4 most recent of HP. Error message (task not supported), sounds like agent on Smart zero is not up-to-date. If you don't the have not already done so, wil you update the agent on the t510 Smart zero prior to sending the image update task.

  • HP t510 and t5565z black screen

    Hello

I have several HP t510 and t5565z thin using HP Smart Client OS we use for VMware View customers. Thin clients for very well most of the time. However occasionally they will get black screens and no longer respond. I would say that this probably occurs during long periods of inactivity may be several hours or more. Has anyone already experienced this? It can occur during a session connected or simply sitting lit all night.

These thin clients also seem to have a kind of construction in both screen saver. Because they will go in this black screen after 15 minutes of inactivity. They return generally, but I can't find anywhere in the settings options or BIOS to kill this screensaver.

To anyone reading this, I found a solution. I found myself by opening a ticket with HP about the sleep function screen integrated with Smart Zero Client generation. I was information this feature was not available without the component of profile manager of the HP Server deployment, you can use this thin client.

I finished the switch back on the ThinPro build because you can control the screen saver and display the power options in the generation of HP. I had a feature request to HP to allow the screen saver and power display options to be greeted with the Smart customer zero built in the future because they added an Admin mode in the last generation, they pulled out for us who do not have enough of them to justify the use of the server component.

  • T510 Citrix FontSmoothingType configuration changes not saved

    Hi all

We recently bought a T510 because our existing customers (T5565) are now EOL, and we try to configure the T510 with similar parameters.  One of the parameters that the FontSmoothingType change us is in the file All_Regions.ini located in writing/home/user /. ICAClient.  However, the changes we make are not persistent after a reboot.

    That's what we do:

    fsunlock

    CD/writing/home/user /. ICAClient /.

    VI All_Regions.ini

    (Change FontSmoothingType = * to FontSmoothingType = 3)

    : wq

    fslock

After the reboot, the file All_Regions.ini has been restored and the timestamp of the file is more recent, which suggests that the file is overwritten when starting.

I can't find any other copy of All_Regions.ini which could be a version of "master".

    Hoping someone can help.

    OS: ThinPro 4 (T6X42019)

    Martin

You must change the All_Regions.ini in/usr/lib/ICAClient/config. This change should be persistent.

  • Memory for T510

The T510 does support memory PC3L?

I want to upgrade fomr 4 GB to 8 GB and find that PC3L is less expensive than the PC3 slightsly.

    Thank you.

Most of the PC3L (1.35v) modules will support PC3 (1.5V) operation. I do not know of modules that don't work not to 1, 5V, but specifications for modules that you consider should tell you what you need to know.

  • Update problem with win 7 to 8 T510

I have a T510 just reinstalled Win 7 using the Lenovo recovery and now I'm looking to move to Win 8 to give a try.

I'm lazy, so I just uninstalled programs that are specifically highlighted by the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 8 in the process, not those listed incompatible in the compatibility table, but those that actually prevents the upgrade of the instance Wizard. And apparently just uninstall them is not enough.

The problem is that I don't know exactly what software is causing problems. Great thinkpad utility software seem to becoming major obstacles to the upgrade. And these drivers. However I really want to uninstall all of them and potentially found out that does not always upgrade. If I have to delete all software from lenovo, I assume a new installation be less obtrusive.

So I was wondering if someone who has successfully upgraded could give the software or drivers that he or she has uninstalled or share another experience. I appreciate really.

BTW, I wish Microsoft or Lenovo will come out a better Wizard upgrade who will deal with the problem of uninstalling for users. I know that Lenovo has a list of software that must be uninstalled. Are there opportunities you can make an exe or bat file this unistall all of them at once? I think that most of the thinkpad users like me still have the standard package installed as the machine arrived and it really save a lot of trouble.

    Thank you

I think the Windows 8 package you downloaded can be used to make a new installation but also upgrade to Windows 7.

If you run the Windows 8 package you downloaded, it should give you the ability to create a multimedia installation. Then take a 4 GB USB key, run the Windows 8 package, then select the option to install from Media create, or something to that description.

Select the USB and it will create a Bootable Windows 8 installation.

You can use this with your key, to create a new installation.

I'm in dual boot on the same drive, for now while I get used to WIndows 8.

  • T510s bricks after network power everything in Imaging

Imaging remotely while some t510s, have been occasional glitches or latency on the network which has disrupted the process and resulted in arrangements of bricks.  Unfortunately, space limited to these models means that the image cannot be cached during the download.

In general, the owner of such a device reported that the system was blocked in a progress bar and reboot the system to get anything at startup.

How can I retrieve these devices?

    Oh Hi

I faced the same problem for the couple of ThinPro T510s.

    You need:

1 - the Thinpro image on HP site. (sp61603.exe for T6X44017 version)

    2 - a USB Virgin

    How to:

1 - Connect the usb key to your computer

    2. run sp61603.exe

3 - Click on the USB Format and select your USB

    4. start your T510 bricked with this USB key and follow the instructions.

    Good luck
