T61 - 6457 - 5KG - W7 wrong with Microsoft Update

Hello

I have a T61p with W7 ultimate installed. When I pass the 'computer' with the ThinkVantage System update, I can't do an update of microsoft more, I received the following message:

********

updated Windows cannot currently check updates, because the service is not running...

********

In fact, the service runs.

It seems that this problem has any type of driver HHD or maybe the controller Intel turbo memory.

I don't know what I can do... I can't leave my computer without ms update... and I can't update the computer with all my drivers installed.

Could someone help me on this? I would be very happy...

Sincere friendships, and have a nice day.

  • Microsoft Update is broken?

After the patches Microsoft November 2014 have been released, I have connected to the Microsoft Update web site and look for updates for Office 2007 Suite installed on my computer, and Office 2007 has been patched successfully; my computer still has loaded XP but I also genuine Office 2007 is installed, including Microsoft Update (not Windows Update) regularly checks the updates. Yesterday I even clicked on Microsoft Update (http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate... but the page did not open and displays the message "this site has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to display.) "The error no.: 0 x 80248015. My second computer with XP but with genuine Office 2007 could not be connected to the Microsoft Update web page either and the same message was displayed, which shows that the error is not specific to one computer. Microsoft Update web site is temporarily down? Or started Microsoft prevent users from Windows XP from Microsoft Update, even if these users always have other Microsoft products like office and always need to run Microsoft Update. The procedure gave me last year I've updated Windows Update on the second computer components, where the Update window now properly works but as soon as I go to Microsoft Update from Windows Update, the error message is displayed. So, it is definitely a problem with Microsoft Update. The computer clock is synchronized automatically and I also synchronize manually at any time.

I would appreciate help with this problem, because I still need to update Office 2007 by Microsoft Update.

EDIT: the problem with the "microsoft update" site has been fixed...

    -------------------------------------------

something is wrong with the site "microsoft update"... I and many others, who are running either "windows xp" or "windows Server 2003", have experienced the same problem that you encounter with the site "microsoft update"... See this thread for a reference:

  • Microsoft Update 0x80072EE2

I had no end of problems with Microsoft Update for the last two months on several PC.

Currently, I'm constantly 0x80072EE2 when looking for updates.

I am running XP SP3, which was far before this started to happen.

I tried the fix on KB836941, but nothing helped.

My firewall is an external box, nothing blocked.

I discovered that if I go back to Windows Update (by turning off Microsoft Update settings) everything works perfectly, but when I return to use Microsoft Update, the 0x80072EE2 reappears.

    Clues?

It is not uncommon for this type of error go away on its own.

  • My computer cannot connect to Microsoft Update

I tried to run Microsoft Update manually by connecting to the Microsoft Update page. I clicked on install Express, but the research process seemed as if it would never end because the progress bar still moving; at one point, a message appeared "the website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to examine. The options below... This block me to install the latest updates. I would really appreciate help from someone to solve this problem. I have somehow hit on WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab but I can not run because Windows does not recognize this file. If it is a Microsoft tool so why Windows can't recognize it? I would also help on how to open and run this file, if it is indeed a useful tool. I tried a lot of things, but to no avail:

-renamed C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder, restarted the computer

-stopped and rebooted rebooted, and automatic updates

Re-regitered several DLLs associated with Microsoft Update

-Rename the Catroot2 folder and restarted (CryptSvc prior to shutdown and reboot after renaming)

None of them helped to solve the problem. I finally downloaded WindowsUpdateAgent30 - x 86 .exe and tried to installed it but a message showed "no need to install it because it already exists.

I would be grateful for any suggestions to get out me of this problem.

I found this entry in the temporary Internet files:

    http://update.Microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/ErrorInformation.aspx?error=15

I had to disable and stop the automatic updates so that automatic updates has taken over almost 100% of the CPU, run like crazy first connect the site to update and download updates, thus crippling my computer. I wonder if anyone from Microsoft reads and addresses this issue as soon as possible. Microsoft is really aware of the problem? I see no way to forward my complaint to Microsoft directly. They hear me? Windowsupdate.log is full of "update is not allowed to download because of the regulation".

I just had the same problem and posted a question on the community site. Finally, after having restarted my computer several times and go to the site with the same lack of results, I found that the site is at a standstill. Maybe their server is down, but this is just conjecture on my part. I see no further questions or comments about that nobody else than you.

  • Error message: the files required to use Microsoft Update are longer registered or installed on your computer.

As I never had problems with Microsoft Updates in the 3 years that I've owned this computer, I am confused now what has happenned.

My laptop has a valid copy of Windows XP Professional and has always already been updated successfully, both manually by using the web page for the custom updates and so automatically.

Can someone please shed some light on the question and how to fix it?  I obviously don't want to need to format this computer.

I still regularly ran my anti-virus (N360 which is always updated) software and windows defender.  I have also always used Spybot S & D.  None of the mentioned software found no major problems, as I expect, because they are supposed to prevent intrusions. I also run the current Microsoft malicious software removal tool as an extra precaution.

    My problem is:

After you perform a system restore to an earlier date on my laptop, I wanted to check windows update to make sure that all my security updates are in and up to date.  I opened the page to update as normal, then I accept the license agreement and I continued to the next screen.  Normally, I don't have to do this, he usually directly goes to the page.

Then, I got this error message:

The files required to use Microsoft Update are longer registered or installed on your computer.

It is possible for me to choose
"register or reinstall the files now (recommended)".
However when I try this option I'm headed to the next web page where I get another error message:

403-Forbidden: access is denied. You don't have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials you supplied.

Could be a problem of hijackware but first see this archived thread WinXP general newsgroup: http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.general/browse_frm/thread/4789b22822070e68/ee1886e36b8d6608?#ee1886e36b8d6608

I don't think that this has nothing to do with Microsoft Update. Yahoo have recently updated their servers and you need to change your settings to match.

Right-click on the account name in the folders pane, and then select Properties. On the servers tab, change the server addresses to match those listed on this page: the pop server settings While you're there, make sure that my server requires authentication is selected and that the ports are correctly selected on the tab Advanced , with this server requires a secure connection (SSL) selected for both.

Click on work offline and delete all messages waiting for the Outbox (below the records of account in the folders pane), and then compose a new test message and send it to yourself. Send error messages in your response.

  • Problems with Microsoft in Windows 7 updates

Somewhere in the middle of July 2015, I noticed that I had not updated Microsoft program for several weeks.  I use Windows 7 (which was installed in my computer when I bought it in 2012).    I checked the last update, I had received and it was July 9, 2015.  I checked to make sure that I had selected automatic update function.   I called and spoke to a young woman with Microsoft, and she tried to find the problem.  She worked with my computer for more than two hours and could not find what was wrong.  She wanted to return to a more experienced technician, but I rejected this idea.  I've tried everything I can think and have talked with friends, and no one has had this problem.  My son tried for several hours to fix it and finally said: I might have a virus.  So I went to the Windows Update page, where there is information on the updates where he says: "check updates for your computer: NEVER.  and "last check updates: NEVER.»   I certainly did not insert these Nevers.  I have always used the automatic update choice.  Someone knows a problem like this?

I look after about 150 computers to Windows 7.  11 of them could not perform updates of Windows to cycle this month of September.

Windows Update is a constant problem since Microsoft Windows 10 has triggered.  In my opinion, they use the same resources to feed these adverse to a large measure 5 gigabyte W10 files as they do for your updates.  Their priority is W10, and as a result the service is very poor.  In some cases, updates have sat there churning for more than a day before finally closing.

I'll give you some tips on antivirus software.  I recommend that first of all make sure you have a clean uninfected system with good protection.

If after following these steps, you still have a problem, come back here and I will offer much more advice.  I learned a lot from these 11 fixing computers.

First download and run ADWcleaner https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/

This is a great, free, scanner not antivirus software.

Do not use any product that claims to make your computer run better.  Almost all of them are either false, themselves, an infection, or put your computer at risk. Delete everything that claims to be there to prevent the infections or pretends to make your computer work better, except for the singular than an antivirus product.

It is a controversial topic, but your choice of AV software may be something you want to take a 2nd look.  I suggest you visit this website to get an idea of what AV software made the best work, depending on what type of user you are: http://www.av-comparatives.org/ is a non-profit that has been around for a long time and I hope that their results.

When you interpret these results, remember the difference between a product that detects 95% and the other 99% of infections, it is actually 5 times more likely to allow an infection.

I pick up after about 150 Windows PCs and I have more than 13 years.  Until last September, the only AV software that I would allow my clients to use was Norton Antivirus.  Note that this is not the same as any other product, Norton 360 or Internet Security.  My clients rarely know infections.

Last September, Symantec (Norton owner) decided to no longer sell such a product.  After much research, I decided on Bitdefender Antivirus 2015 +.  I installed it on most of these PCs to date and has never been a problem, and it has been on a course of 12 months now...  It is a better product than Norton.  It is also cheap. One of the things I love the most about it, is the silence and discretion.  Especially if silenced you its function "portfolio".

My customers know that if they install any product of 'Internet Security', I won't work on their computers until it is deleted.  Very well, I learned the hard way that other components of these products (other than the AV itself) IS causing more problems than any profit that they bring and work mainly by stopping the Windows component that does a very good job of this particular task still.  The problem is that when I started to work on a computer with an IS on it, I could spend hours trying to diagnose the problem, only to find out that by taking the product of the IS, the problems have become much clearer and easier to solve.  I think that the product of the IS actually hides the problem.

As I said, this is a controversial topic and you will find many different very strong opinions.  I know that mine is based on a fairly large sample over a long period, and are consumers of consumer type Windows.

Please note.  You should never have more than one protection software installed.  Always make sure that you completely remove the firmware all protection before installing a new one.  That contains software that may have come preinstalled on your computer when it's new

Totally impossible to delete most of all AV software simply by using the standard uninstallation tool Windows 7.  Most of the majors also publishes a "removal tool" that gets the rest.  If you do not completely remove it, it will cause very hard to understand and diagnose problems.

  • problem with automatic updates and Microsoft Update in Windows XP Service Pack 3

My sister has a problem with the automatic updates. He has offered 6 updates and she moved them, but next time, she turned on the computer, he was offered the same 6 updates again. She has set up 5 or 6 times now, but she is always offered the same 6 updates every time she turns on the computer.  She tried yesterday to go to the web site Microsoft Update and update his computer, but it runs into the same problem. Microsoft Updates installed updates to update, but after restarting the computer and try to update again, he was offered the same 6 updates.

I try to help fix and I need help.

I tried stopping the service automatic updates, delete the contents of the download folder, update the Microsoft Updates web site and then by restarting the service of updates without result. She also tried to remove the 4 updates, she could find in Add/Remove Programs, but also without result.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

Note: Microsoft offers free support for security updates only. Since KB982524 KB982168 & NOT related to security updates, free support is NOT available for them.

  • Impossible to solve problems with the update of security for Microsoft NET. Framework SP1 (KB2657424)

I hope that Microsoft Support will answer this question:

Homepage of Microsoft Windows Update is re - download and reinstall the same update (KB2657424).

I was advised to try this link: https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=6527 and it brought me to this page.

I downloaded Microsoft Fixit 50202, installed and ran, but in "default" mode, since he warned that "aggressive mode" may disrupt other updates.

It took me 8 hours (using a dial-up access provider) to get through all of the suggestions, including those in the following links:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/910339

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/906602

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2657424

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/default.aspx

I followed the suggestion of Microsoft to visit their site and check out "Review of my update history". Since January 11, 2012, when Microsoft first downloaded the update to in question (KB2657424), it failed. Microsoft has offered by clicking on the Red 'x' next to the 'update failed' to open the info on the reason that has been...

    Error code: 0x01

Microsoft proposed the search for this error code in this list:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/ph/6527

The error code is not in this list.

Microsoft said then click "find solutions," "enter keywords" and click on "search". The result was this message: "Sorry, no result found not to match this criterion."

As I mentioned earlier, since the first update "failed", I clicked several times on the icon (almost daily), which reappears constantly in my taskbar, asking me to "Reinstall", the update, and these measures have been recorded at yellow end of Microsoft. As I mentioned earlier, the update of security (KB2657424) is already listed in my Add/Remove programs as being installed. The "update history" reveals that a series of 'success' (KB2657424) facilities are recorded as well as "failures".

I went to Windows Update Microsoft Web page to 'review my update history'.  After analysis of my PC, Microsoft has determined that (KB2657424) "has been downloaded and ready to install," with another update of IE (KB2618444). So I clicked both for "Quick Installation".

When you are finished, I revisited the "update history review". (KB2657424) has been disabled with the green icon as 'successful', while at the same time, in the right box next, there was a message: "Install Updates (1).» So I clicked it, and another window open with the message that the "high priority update" (KB2657424) had to be installed. Yet once, I clicked on "Install updates". He ended with another successful window "Update."

Then I clicked to "review update history", and it was registered under the name "successful." But the window beside her reappears at the same time: "Install Updates (1).» I have has. ... It was the 3rd time within an hour. 3 slices of the same update (KB2657424) are now disabled with the green icon as "successful"... but the window side "House of Windows Update" reappeared again with the same message: "Install Updates (1).»

Then I followed the suggestion of Microsoft to type in the "run command" keywords to the day windows journal. Since the January updates up until this date in February the journal is 428 pages (transferred from Notepad to Microsoft Word.)

Then I followed the instructions to download the update 'NDP35SP1-KB2657424 - x 86 .exe' (1.3 MB) directly from Microsoft link... http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?...28569.

As instructed, I proceeded to manually install it in "Safe Mode".

    The result was this message:

Patch installation (c:\35b7019bd0df08ac0003ec93627c\NDP35SP1-KB2657424.msp) failed on product (Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1). MSI log: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 - KB2657424_20120209_020143359 - Msi0.txt

I scanned the PC with anti-virus and anti-malware programs, and none of them found any malware or virus in the way of updates from Microsoft. "The 'update' where it is saved in the Microsoft Download link is the only and unique" ""NDP35SP1-KB2657424 - x 86 .exe." The "Update" as it is installed in my Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel is the same.

However, both "Windows Update Home" to Microsoft Page as well as in my BONES, the "update" continues to override all commands of Windows. Another odd fact, is that this "update" that keeps re - download and reinstall itself is actually partitioned into three parts, and I wonder if they may be "clones". Maybe the Windows Installer Service does not know where to place them, or what to do with them. These are three:

    MSIPatchRegFix - X 86 .exe_

    NDP35SP1-KB2657424 - 86.exe_

    NDP35SP1-KB2657424 - 86.exeQ

    Hi Jeine,

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network at the time the anti-virus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot state to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

Method 3: Follow the steps in the article.
